Red Cliff ein historisches Meisterwerk
Red Cliff hat das, was ich mir unter einem historischen Film vorstelle -eine spannende Geschichte und großartige Massenszenen!Die Bildqulität der Blu_Ray ist hervorragent !Leider wurde mein Gesamteindruck getrübt,als ich erfuhr,das es garnicht der ganze Film ist,sondern aus zwei Teilen besteht, die man nur in der Originalversion Mandarin bekommen kann -ich meine wer spricht das in Deutschland schon!!! Ich hätte mir liebend gern beide Teile gekauft,aber so hat es für mich keinen Sinn!!Fazit:Trotzdem absolut Sehenswert !!!

Fantastic movie!
I initially saw this movie subtitled and I was happy to see the Blu-Ray has a English dubbed version. Having watched both now I can say that I really enjoyed both. This is a fantastic movie in every way! I've always been a fan of this story and this is an extremely good version of it. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves a good story, war movies or just likes having a good time watching a movie!

I bought this as it had great reviews. Little did I know, the story which it depicts was one which by BF's best friend was obsessed with!! This won me so many brownie points!!!!

This film is a typical Chinese extravaganza for the eyes. Huge scenes, dramatic scenes, worth every penny.

Just amazing
I haven't enjoy a John Woo film since Hard Boiled. He is finally going to Hong Kong Where he can do what he wants in a brilliant way. The Blu-ray quality (image and sound) is nearly perfect. Just a bit disappointed by the burnt-in-english subtitles. The Documentary is a bit of a let-down as it looks like a Press Kit than anything else.

Obwohl scheinbar gekürzt, ist in diesem Film das Who is Who des modernen chin. Schauspieler zusammen gekommen.
Teures aufwendiges Kino. So komplex, das man beim ersten betracheten gar nicht alles in die Birne kriegt. Das gute daran, das er bei jedem folgenden Betrachten immer besser wird, und heute - liebe ich diesen Film - Klarer Kauftip.

Hi.
Well this movie is well worth watching if your tactical minded and like the marshal arts.
I beleave its one of the best I have seen in a long time on Chinese subjects with breath taking views and filming.
I did however not view it in blu-ray but in DVD formatt.
I recommend this movie in both blu-ray and DvD..

Epic Chinese military strategy film!
The best film of this type I have seen. Engaging martial arts fighting. Intriguing military strategy formations & tactics. Intense character development for lead roles.
This is a long film, but deservedly so. Some of the photography captured in the film is simply breathtaking & much is quite stunning. After watching it, I watched my favourite scenes over again the very next day. This is a classic!

Red cliff - good film
Yeah, I have to agree with all the comments made. I originally watched the long version and thought it was amazing. To my misfortune though when I actually purchased the film it wasn't the longer one it was the short one. So I have recently bought the special edition. Can't wait to watch it ;-)

my bf has always loved these types of moves and his friends suggested he try watching this one. he loved it, saw that there is an international version, got that one also. international version is much better as long as you don't mind subtitles (he likes the subtitles in these movies)

Im Gegensatz zu meinen VorRezensoren möchte ich anmerken, dass mir der Film einen entspannten Abend mit gutem Unterhaltungswert bescherte. Auch finde ich, dass der Zusammenschnitt auf die vorliegende, verkürzte Fassung nicht wesentlich Story & Dramatik geschmälert hat. Ich meine, es ist gelungen den Inhalt so darzubieten, dass die Action der Schlachten voll rüberkommt und habe die Ausleuchtung der Charaktere als genügend empfunden. Die Langatmigkeit, die so manchem asiatischem Epos anhaftet, ist vermieden worden. Eine gute Darstellung des "Making of" rundet das Bild positiv ab - Sollte man sich ansehen...
Insgesamt bekommt der Film von mir die volle Punktzahl.
