I love this camera. For a novice it works really well and has more settings than I'll use or know to use. Very satisified.

I really like this camera, it takes fantastic pictures. The zoom is incredible as well as the quality of the photos. Easy to use. Thank goodness we received it before we left for our fabulous vacation in Brazil - we have many great memories now.

I've been playing with this camera for the last 2 days. It has rich features packed in it and lightweight.
Based on the pictures that I took, I feel you have to know how to use Manual setting to get better pictures. Several shots were taken outdoor with ISO 80 in P mode didn't look good (it was a little bit cloudy that day). I didn't want to bump up the ISO to more than ISO 200 (this camera has grainy problems on higher ISO values). Then I took several shots with Manual mode with the same ISO, changed shutter speed and set appropriate aperture, the pictures look very nice.

I can't complain too much about low LCD resolution or low battery efficiency. This camera is pretty cheap ($179) and has some nice features.
Overall is a good buy for somebody that wants to learn Manual setting.

The more I use this camera, the more I feel bad buying an SLR :(. This camera has so much on it. I wish I hadn't spent so much money on an SLR.

This is an excellent camera for the price! The camera works especially well capturing my grandsons at play with the special feature for kids & pets. The pictures are very good quality. I would highly recommend this camera.

I brought this as a birthday gift to myself, one of the best gifts. It is the perfect size, easy to operate ( my son is 9 and he is taking wonderful pictures)

This is a great camera packed with features. The zoom and IS work great, and produce clear pics. You can put it in auto mode, and take great pictures while you learn all of the other features.
The software is kind of buggy, I've installed it twice and it still does not recognize the camera and work quite right, no big deal, you can just go under "my computer" and select the camera and pull them that way.
I'm interested in being more creative and learning about all of the different things I can do, but If you just want a simple point and click that takes great pictures without all of the bells and whistles, a Kodak Easyshare may be your option, and the Kodak software is great.

Very nice camera, easy to use, although I have not used it as much as I will when I figure out how to link up to the computer. Only problem so far is it goes through batteries quickly...I need to read some more from the operator's manual to solve this.

My low rating is based on the following.....I was supposed to receive this item via UPS one day shipping. Didn't get it on Friday 12/21 as I was supposed to. UPS tried to deliver it Saturday and Monday (to a business so no one was there). I wouldn't have ordered it had I known it wasn't coming on Friday. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift. Not sure if it was UPS's issue or Amazon's. Either way don't advertise one day shipping if it isn't going to come. I know it's the Christmas season so shipping gets tough but don't even advertise one day shipping during this time of year.

Canon is by far the best balance of quality, features and price. I've enjoyed using their dSLR and Point-and-Shoot style cameras for about 5 years (PS A75, PS A95, Rebel XT). This model has some great features: the image stabilization, 7MP and face recognition. Above all these is the image stabilization: it works really well with jittery hands or dark scenes. I'd recommend looking at dpreview.com's review for a great set of sample images and details of the camera. Thanks to Amazon for fast shipping and great service.

Love the size, features, and pictures this camera takes but the battery life is terrible. I got one and returned it because after 5-10 pictures the low battery warning came on then it shut down after 10 more. The replacement did the exact same thing. Don't plan on taking this camera on a hiking trip keep it close to you battery charger. I also tried several different types of batteries NiMH... I wish it used 4 AA's like my A75 it was a great camera until it broke after only 3 years of use.

This is the best priced Digital Camera for the first time Digital Camera buyer. It's easy to use and has all the features of a more expensive camera. I shopped 26 different sites, and 3 retail camera stores and Amazon.com had there price beat. The shipping was free & no sales tax even made it a better bargain, and I had it in two days.

I was due for a new camera. I had the powershot 2.0 and it went Kaput! This one was affordable and small enough to fit into my pocket. It's quick and the resolution is great and the quality is great!!

This is a nice camera. I bought it for my son and bought a A710 for my husband. I can tell the quality difference in the pictures between the two and the A710 is definitely better, although both are much much better than our old Nikon digital. The A710 pictures are sharper and have better color. The A570 is a good camera for the price, but if you can afford to spend a bit more, get the A710.

I purchased this canon powershot A570IS for my 15 year old son. He had never had a nice camera......and this one is nice! He is very happy with the pictures taken and it is so easy to use. Actually, his Dad wants one now! If you want a camera that is really easy to use, takes great pictures and is easy on the wallet too, this is it!

I have owned the Canon A540 for a year and recently purchased an A570IS as an upgrade. The 540 had performed admirably, but I wanted image stabilization to allow shots with a slower shutter speed for pictures shot in rooms with low lighting using a low ISO setting for quality. I took over 200 shots at my son's wedding. The IS worked well, but the pics were too dark, so I reverted to flash shots to maintain the low ISO. To my great disappointment, MOST of the pics had redeye even when the subject(s) was not facing the camera. The in-camera redeye fix did not do well, especially when 6-8 people had redeye in the same frame. The 540 was never this bad.
The outdoor photos, on the other hand, were extremely good with nice color and exposure and good focus. I couldn't be more pleased with those shots.
But I really wanted a camera that could at least take decent indoor flash photos but preferably non-flash with medium ISO settings. In my experience, the 570 is not that camera. At this time there are digicams that excel at indoor photos and others that take great outdoor shots. I'll wait for a great all-arounder before my next purchase.
P.S. Most of the shots were made in AUTO or PROGRAM mode.

Pro: I use it for everything from vacations to close-ups for E-Bay and it exceeds my expectations. It a "Point & Shoot" that is simple enough for a child to use; it also has over a dozen different shooting modes and adjustments to fit the most discerning photographers needs. The stabilization really works. I made the right choice!

This is my first Digital Camera. It is compact and easy to use. The grip is exstremely comfortable. The accessories are varied and the camera functions can be complex for the more experienced or simple for the novice. The only downside is the 16MG card not really enough so I had to get a 2GB Also the batteries go very very quickly. You have to keep several with you at all times so it pays to get the rechargeables.
The camera is well worth the price. I would consider getting another Cannon.

Takes excellent pictures! Zoom works very well. Make sure to always use rechargeable batteries in all electronics. I put in my memory card from my old camera and now I can take over 500 pictures before needing to delete. I had a question and needed to call tech support. They answered quickly and resolved my issue. Of course if I had read the manual that came with it I would not have had to call them.

The camera is fantastic for what I wanted. I was disheartened however, when I received an email from Canon telling me that they would not give me the rebate advertised with this product. They apparently lost my receipt and UPC code, which they are unwilling to admit. I have tried to contact them about resolving the situation, I have not gotten a response. So, be wary if you are only buying the camera because you will get the rebate. Otherwise, I would recommend it.

The Canon PS A570IS is a good camera for the price. However, if I were to choose a camera again, I would choose one that weighed less and that was thinner. But overall, excellent quality photos and super easy to use for the average person.

I am impressed with the quality of the LCD. The steadying feature is great, as well. Many people have complained of the long time it takes to save pictures to the card between shots, but I found that by changing to fresh batteries or emptying the SD card processing time was much faster, more like my A95 from a few years ago. My biggest complaint is the unwieldy button for removing the SD card and batteries; it takes me two hands to push the release and slide the cover out. Otherwise, well worth the money--the photos are excellent quality.
