These are great! If you want noise-cancelling at its best, this is the way to go. The sound quality is pretty good, but certainly not great. That's the only reason I subtracted a star.
I used the QC15's in the back of a C-17 while on my way to Afghanistan. They worked as well as earplugs, and allowed my to listen to music. The QC25's are supposed to be even better. I'm a big fan of Bose noise-canceling and have purchased every pair that's come out. If I ever get back into flying, I'm sure I'll buy the aviation headset version of these. I just wish Bose would put more emphasis on sound quality. Their stuff has always been mostly acceptable, but never great.

This is my third set of Bose QuietComfort headphones. The soft linings of the earphones do eventually wear out, but three sets in 14 years says something about their durability, since I was often traveling on 6-10 flights per month (sometimes 6+ flights per week).
I wore these on 10+ hour flights with comfort, and these worked perfectly for masking the flight noise to let me sleep. When awake, these are outstanding quality acoustic headphones for listening to your iPod, computer, or other music source, or even the in-flight music and movies on the plane.

Rewriting this review again and had now developed a problem with the left earcup stopped working. It had minimum usage out of it ( 2 - 6 times usage ) and one time I was going to use them again and had packed in the left earcup. Been well looked after in its case. For this price be careful it only had a month return policy.

The noise-canceling is real useful on planes.
These are not the best headphones acoustically - the Sennheiser earbuds I got on Amazon a year ago for around $100 give better sound. But on a plane...
I hate that they've got the brand name displayed on your ears. I covered it with black electrical tape, which doesn't look real elegant, but I'm damned if I'll be a walking ad.

Overall, these are ideal use for any travel. It particular, they serve the purpose during exams, daily train ride, quiet-time to analyse board reports and handy for watching Game of Thrones whilst your partner is sleeping next to you. Practically speaking, I am inclined to use for longer travel journeys where my hand luggage can furnish a compartment for the sleek black holder.
Bose has upped the audio performance in the QuietComfort 25. While it still may not be stellar, you'll be hard-pressed to find superior sound in another noise-cancelling model.
The cost is fairly pricey, but for those seeking premium noise-cancelling headphones for travel or just dispelling out everyday ambient noise while listening to music or watching video, these QuietComfort headphones are heavenly cushions for your neglected ears. For me, they are worth every penny.

The left side is terrible! I had to jiggle the cord to make that side work. I returned them for a second pair and that pair did the same thing. Returned those and got my money back. Very disappointed in Bose.

Sent back, one side stopped working on the 3rd time. Bought another, brand new on another website with a 3 yr warranty for less money total, and right out of the box one side didn't work. Youtube showed the problem to be the jack going into the headphone is manufactured a little small so it doesn't make a good connection. Cheap, poorly designed ripoff, Bose.

I wish I could return these but I've had them for awhile and didn't realize how much I was actually missing until I listened again on my QC15's. I was watching a movie on the 25's and was thinking something was missing so I pulled out the 15's and sure enough some parts of the low end sound was much softer and other parts were completely missing! Isn't that the basic job of headphones, to reproduce the full sound signal.
Just in case I had a defective pair I tried my friends pair also and got the same results. We were hearing all kinds of information that was being reproduced on the 15's and not the 25's. Very disappointing.

cancels out really quiet noise but not much else. I can hear any vibratory movement, machines running, dogs barking, but car noise and a/c are blocked. Not sure worth the price. And if you have a small head, don't purchase b/c you can't adjust and therefore not as secure on your head. Batteries also die out quickly.

Absolutely cancels the noise - No doubt about it - Used in on airplanes on long haul flights works like a charm - But its not the best sounding head phones considering the price we pay for it. If your using primarily for noise control go for it. Don't buy if you want the best sounding headphone or don't expect it for the price you paid

But was very surprised, these headphones drowned out very loud aircraft engine noise for 16 hours. Didn't hurt my head to wear them all that time or slide around too much. The sound is bose quality and lives up to the hype. For the record, I only bought these because I was gifted $200 and only had to spend $100 out of pocket. Price is a little high for my taste.

Mine broke within two months of purchasing. The right ear piece stopped emitting sound. I've heard from my friends who had it that theirs also broke on them. When I called Bose to fix the situation they wanted me to pay to have it shipped, after reminding them that the item broke within two months of buying it new for $300 they decided to give me a complimentary return shipping. I decided to return it for store credit where I bought it instead. I'll stick to my QC15s.
The pros of the QC25 were the design, comfort and working without a battery.
The cons were the build quality, reliability and felt cheap.

Tried a bunch of less expensive headphones, and for me these are totally worth the extra money. I travel a lot on airplanes and the noise canceling is great, keeps out the engine rumble and turns down the volume on kids. While watching inflight movies I can keep the volume low and still hear the dialogue very clearly. Very comfortable.

Does everything you'd expect, and more. If you have doubts about the cost and ability of these headphone, don't! They will outperform your expectation. Pricey, yes. Quality - oh yes. Worth it? With out a doubt!

Have QC15's which I gave my son who thinks they are great.QC25's are lighter and better, but they chew through batteries like there's no tomorrow.The QC15's lasted for weeks. Within days my QC25's are flashing for new batteries.

They are WAY more comfortable than my old beats noise canceling headphones and lighter weight. The case is also very handy for a student to keep it in their backpack without getting banged up.

Comfortable fitting over the ear. The noise cancelling is nice but it won't block 100% of ambient room noise. It does a nice job of blocking out ambient noise from a car or airplane seat. You won't hear normal conversation in the same room while wearing these headphones while playing music at normal volumes. If the battery dies or the noise cancelling is turned off you can still listen music but much of the bass will be lost. There is a compartment in the bose headphone case for a spare battery along with airplane headphone adapter (nice!) . Overall , I'm very please with the sound quality. I would prefer to have the bass heavier and punchier but I can adjust with an equalizer. For good clean sound as it was meant to be heard it is near impossible to beat Bose without paying over inflated prices on brands that perhaps millionaires only have access to.
