I've got an ASUS motherboard. This is the first time I've ever used an ASUS sound card. Sorry I didn't do it sooner.This little card has awesome performance. Plus the command console (Manager) is visually amazing.The sound settings are variable enough to get just the right sound and quality for any kind of music, and any kind of speaker .. headset included, with all of the headset types and variations. There's an instruction manual, not that most of us need it.Even if you aren't into elaborate sound sytem setups, this little sound card is your baby .. especially at this ridiculously low price.

I have a onboard HD Audio on my motherboard and this blow it out of the water in terms of audio quality. The biggest improvement is that there's little to no static. The Dolby Headphone allows me to play games and movies in simulated surround on any pair of headphones I choose. Gaming headphones usually don't sound great for music and lack good bass so I choose to use my own. I didn't think I needed a sound card but I figured $25 wasn't much to lose so I tried it. I'm very glad I did. Whenever I'm building a new computer I'll always be sure to include a soundcard. At $25 I don't really have an excuse. What would make this even better is if the Dolby Live was included like on the more expensive ASUS sound cards. This would allow you to hook your computer up to a surround sound receiver and get simulated 7.1 surround for a computer game.

I ordered this sound card to replace the failing integrated sound device. It fit the bill perfectly. Sound quality is up, sound adjust-ability is pretty good as well. I recommend this to anyone looking for a basic replacement card.

Just bought this card after my on board audio died and it sounds great, far superior sound than I was getting before. Windows 7 (64bit) wouldn't automatically install a device driver for me on boot but I ran the driver disc that came with the card and it installed the driver and audio center properly, no problems. My sound is in working order again and I couldn't be happier with this product.

I haven't owned one of those expensive sound cards, so I can't compare this Xonar DG with any of those but I can say that the sound quality reproduced through this card is very clean & distinct. I was somewhat cynical before ordering it because I wondered "how much sound quality can you get for twenty to thirty dollars"?I'm happy with the sound quality and with the fact that I didn't have to spend a hundred dollars for a good quality sound card. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to improve on integrated sound card quality. It's definitely worth it.

The sound this little sound card produces is 100x better than onboard audio on any motherboard out there. If you get this sound card, make sure you upgrade your speaker / headphone system to take advantage of this sound card. Even though its ~$30, it can easily power and take advantage of a $100+ speaker / headphone system.

Purchased oct 19th,Delivered oct 24th by lasership,Got it on the 27th in Trinidad via websource ($41.69ttd)I installed the driver I downloaded from the site as it was newer than the one on the CD. Sometimes the front panel does not switch back to the card output on the back and I need to go in the Asus control panel and change it to 5.1 from 'FP headphones'. Currently I can only hear people in MSN messenger via the headphones on the front panel of my case, in a video chat their voice does not go through my 5.1 speakers, but everything else does, like chat new chat msg beeps etc. mayb it is a setting somewhere and I have tried looking but I cannot seem to fix it. Using google video chat I can hear through the 5.1 speakers.It does sound great and the boost on the headphones was the main reason I bought it and I am not disappointed.Windows 7 Ult 64bit

I needed a new sound card because the Creative card I had was not compatible with Windows 7. I ordered this card thinking it would fit my needs, but unfortunately it does not. I have a set of digital speakers/subwoofer that require the digital signal sent thru the analog output. For the old Creative card I just clicked a box labeled "use digital output" and the digital signal was sent to the analog ports. On this card I selected the digital output option but it only sends the digital signal via the optical port. It does not support digital to the analog output so I either have to buy new speakers or return the card. At this price, I decided to just keep the card (even though I'm not using it) and use a USB soundbar I had for my laptop.

Decent card at a good price. No bells & whistles, but it does take the audio load off the motherboard and gives me a few more options in the Linux environment. I am running a rig built upon the ASUS ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 AM3 AMD 890GXSB850 USB 3.0 ATX Motherboard with a AMD Phenom II X4 960T Processor, Black Edition, 3.0 4 Socket AM3 - HD96ZTWFGRBOX. I am not a hard-core gamer, but I did want to enhance my sound as much as practical and a card in this price range and specs fits the bill. Had no problems with the setup, installed easily. Please note, grab the current drivers from the website instead of the ones on the CD.

I wanted a sound card with an equalizer for use in COD gaming. The card and software worked well for me right from the start and no complaints. It has several other features I will enjoy trying out such as voice modification for fun on chat. One word of advice is to click on the anti echo feature right away or it will sound like you are in an echo chamber all the time.

I ordered this card for a small form factor Dell desktop that had a pci slot available. Really hard to find a sound card that has this level of sound in a 1/2 height bracket form factor. Love the sound card. Installed with no problems in Windows 7. Hooked it up to the surround speakers and it rocks! Great shipping. Great buy!

I have returned this item because I bought it to have a DDL output to my digital only 5.1 speakers. Unfortunately, while it does have a TOSLINK connector, the only option available via SPDIF in the Asus control panel is for PCM encoding, which is only 2 channel. DO NOT buy this if you wish to enable Dolby Digital Live or DTS over the digital connection. This option is just not available in the drivers (and probably the hardware) for this device.

The ASUS PCI 5.1 sound card performance is outstanding for a 5.1 channel card. It has very clear and great 3D surround sound quality. I am very pleased of it performance especially for the price. The item came with and in all original boxes and products as described.

I use this card to power my Logitech Z506 speaker and my headphones (Audio-Technica AD700 & ATH-M50). I like the nice feature that lets you chose the output power for the front panel connector. Recommended for headphone owners.

ASUS PCI 5.1 Channel Sound Card XONAR_DG is an excellent sound card with good price. Sound quality is very good. Installation on Win 7 64-bit was flawless.

I bought this card as a replacement for a busted card on my motherboard. It fit and worked perfectly out of the box. Don't use the CD, go to the web and download the drivers directly off their website. That will keep you up to date.

I'm sorry to report that this ASUS sound card simply did not work in my computer. This is particularly ironic, given that I have a relatively new ASUS motherboard. You'd think they would be compatible. Fact is, I don't know what caused the failure. Perhaps it is because I'm running the 64-bit version of Windows 7. At any rate, my experience with this board proved -- once again -- the wisdom of purchasing through Amazon: Getting a refund was simple and fast. This would not have been the case had I purchased through my second-favorite vendor, New Egg, which would have required me to pay the return shipping. Thank you, Amazon!

Okay, so I originally had the Sound Blaster Audigy SE. Couple of things about that card:A. Its in Creative's graveyard as far as driver support. Go ahead and go on their website and look for a driver for Win 7 x64. Won't find one later than 2009. Folks, doesn't matter how good the device is - without good drivers it won't singB. Mine caused BSODs - once I finally navigated the horrible Creative support structure I found out that the card was suspect.C. Overall presentation of the SB Audigy was cheap cheap cheap. To the way it was packed to the feel of the board.**************Noting all that, this Xonar DG is completely opposite. Excellent/recent drivers, easy access to support, and the card presentation is all excellent.And the SOUND !!! Really, you can't beat this card for 30 bucks for gaming. I'm using a Harmon Kardon SoundSticks III setup - click the 'Hi-Fi' mode in the driver and just sit back. Gosh it sounds nice and warm / full.Buy this card. Its a steal.

The sound is better than my on-board. The microphone works *much* better than my on-board mic. Which is a good thing since I mainly purchased this to improve my voice experience.Doesn't work at all in Linux (Ubuntu 10.10 32bit). This means I still need to switch back to my on-board sound when I'm programming in my Linux boot. It's really annoying and a huge negative for me. ASUS never advertised it as working so I won't take a star for this. I will adore this card if it ever works in Linux.I will take a star away because the EAX emulation causes my games to crash. Luckily the EAX emulation software is an unsigned binary so Windows will ask if I want to allow it to run at boot. I just say no and my games run fine.JR shipped fast and packed it well.

I love this card and to me it means even more. The sound is excellent with my equally excellent Logitech Z2300 speakers. My new ASUS Sabertooth X58 lost audio output, and after spending hours on the phone with ASUS people, in the end, rather than to deal with their slow and cumbersome RMA process, that means me taking my computer apart, sending them the mobo, then waiting for however long for a replacement, decided to take a chance, get this card and bypass the on-board audio circuit entirely. What a good decision. The computer is full-up and I am very happy with what I hear. And I even am getting a $10 rebate.
