after 4 years of not primarily using a desktop, it was time to upgrade from my ageing laptop. I have been very pleased with the size and quality of this monitor. easy to hook up and easy on the eyes out of the box. i would recommend this to anyone.

I really love this monitor I have read other reviews that mention backlight bleed, I did not see any. Did not see any dead/stuck pixels. Also received it in the time frame that Amazon said. Over all great color, very vibrant and true to life. I would recommend this monitor to anyone that wanted a 1080p monitor.

I had to replace a 19" that was dying on me as well as a 17" that wouldn't fit with this monitor. Plugged both in and was amazed at the vibrant display. Asus continues to give me good products. LED ensures you wont have the fading that occurs with lamp-based LCD monitors that age. If you sit only a few feet in front of the monitor, I wouldn't recommend going above 21".

I "downgraded" from a 24-inch TN panel monitor thatwas not cutting it color wise while editing photos. I was afraid of the smaller size, but low and behold, it produces absolutely stunning colors, and size wise is not noticeable. I have it hooked up to my PC through dvi, and xbox 360 through the hdmi input.The one drawback however is the stand. The stand is VERY wobbly. If you type a lot, you might want to look into purchasing a monitor arm or a different VESA stand for it. I don't type too much for the most part, so it doesn't affect me too much.I am planning on purchasing another one so I can have matching dual monitors.

I spend 10+ hours in front of computer screens.I have a Dell XPS L502X notebook computer that has a high-resolution LED-LCD panel.At first, I purchased the VS228 that had no IPS. The screen resolution was superior to Planar monitors I had previously used. However, the resolution was causing me eye fatigue -- particularly when the monitors were tilted at an angle.Upon educating myself on the IPS technology, and careful research on it, I purchased the Asus VS229h-p that has it. It is the cheapest monitor in this size on the market.Furthermore, Asus is fast becoming the Chinese version of Korean Samsung/LG. They started out making computer and electronic components, then vertically integrated.The "VS" series has a 3-year warranty that allows for replacement of the monitor, superior to any other wsrranty for a similar product.The IPS screen is immediately noted for its clarity, and color purity and authenticity. The monitors can be angled or pivoted on a dual monitor stand, and there is no fading or ghosting of the image.I highly recommend it. The IPS feature has me sold.

Three in portrait mode running Surround/Eyefinity. Nuff said :DBought them a little more expensive but they were fairly new then. No issues and no complaints. Big A+ to Asus for giving us an affordable ips monitor, especially for gaming on three screens. Total price (current) for three Asus monitors is the saame price as one Korean 1440 monitor and half the cost of a 1600 screens. I really can't see my self spending $1500 or $300 for a triple monitor setup of the later. Speedy amazon shipping, A+ too.Highly recommendable if you need multiple monitors or needing portrait mode.

I was getting tired of my 13" macbook pro display, so I decided to upgrade. I picked an IPS because that is what I am used to, coming from apple products. The picture is fantastic, although I did notice that the max brightness is a little less then I am used to on my laptop.

Excellent screen and meets all of my needs. It works flawlessly with my Macbook Air via the use of a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable. Great product!

I bought this as a companion to a MacBook when I was working at home. I got the adapter, plugged it in - and within minutes it was working perfectly. This Asus replaced another monitor that I purchased first and sent back (different brand) and the Asus was much easier to use. Very straightforward.

I bought this for my son's birthday. It is a very good monitor. I was placed on a three monitor stand with two old samsung monitors and it is better than them. I think my son is going to buy two more so that all the monitors will match.

My 3 year old ACER 22" monitor developed a 1/2" wide vertical red pixel line not too long ago.... Dead center and too distracting to ignore.I found this Asus on sale and grabbed it up - and the image quality is AMAZING !Compared to the old Acer, this monitor is a 1000% improvement.I'd give it more stars as I could - Thanks, Amazon and Asus !

I needed to upgrade to a 16:9 widescreen monitor that had HDCP compliance for Blu-ray playback and this model by Asus fit the bill. Works great!

This monitor is great for those who want to experience the experience of an IPS panel. The colors are sharp and the accurate and the viewing angles are absolutely great! To those that are skeptical of the stand mount, it's not cheap plastic but steel with glossy plastic casing, Tilting the monitor up and down takes no effort and moves smoothly. If you really want pivot and swivel for this monitor, you can attract it to a VESA mount as well.Though it isn't perfect, for one this is a edge lit LED lit panel, which can be prone to some back light bleeding. My monitor had a small bleed at the lower left corner, but I'm not losing sleep over it. It's honestly not distracting unless my screen is completely black and I'm looking for it.Another con I found with the monitor was that the blacks had a weird maroon tint till I had it calibrated.Pros:Great color quality and picturelow priceVESA mount compatibleCons:Chance of back light bleeding due to it being an edge lit screenbrightness needs to be calibrated for accurate blackstilt adjustment is the only movement possibly

After searching for about a week trying to find the best monitor for my budget I decided on getting this one. This is a great monitor text is sharp and colors are fantastic. I currently have it connected to my computer with the dvi connection and my xbox 360 with the vga connection. It automatically connects to whichever is on. As other people have mentioned it does have light bleeding, but only in the corners and it's only noticeable when they're really dark. I would highly recommend this monitor, movies and games look great on this.

I was convinced to purchase two of these recently launched monitors after searching for a cheap IPS monitor. It also helped that there was only a $20 price difference (at time of purchase) between this and the similarly sized VS228H-P.After receiving them, set up was simple. There are some preset brightness/contrast settings, but I typically leave them off. The colors are spot on and the picture is great. Whether playing a video game or watching a movie, there is no ghosting or slow down.However, not everything is great. In the two original monitors I purchased, I found severe lightbleeding coming from the bottom left corner of the panel. This is only partially noticeable during normal usage and lighting, but anytime a darker image shows on the screen or the monitor is used in a low light environment, it is extremely distracting. I do not know if this a temporary manufacturing defect since the product just launched, but I after exchanging the worse of my two original monitors, I still found the same issue on the newer monitor.Pros:- Good Price- IPS- Plenty of ports (hdmi, dvi, vga)Cons:- Backlighting issue

Was suggested these by a forum I frequent. I had debated between getting 2 of these or just one of the following: the Dell U2412M, the Dell U2312HM, a Korean made 27" IPS display. Decided to go with the dual monitor set up and am loving it.Coming from a 19" widescreen Acer that I got 6 years ago on a Black Friday sale I was blown away with the colors, the sharpness, and the viewing angles. Once I got everything set up it made BF3 and SC2 look fantastic.

Nice monitor, has very good color balance and the controls are easy to use. There is one small problem-the image bleeds over the edge of the screen so I have to pan back and forth. This is on all screen settings.

The font looks great and movies do too. i bought this after an extensive research and an in-depth look at samsung, viewsonic and LG monitors. best value for the price by far and looks good too.

Beautiful IPS color output and viewing angles - Great contrast - Fast response time 5ms NOT 14ms - mean latency is 11 seconds - Good for gaming - Great price for performance Deep blacks - lots of options for connectingI called Asus about the response time because it says 5ms on the box and there web sight and they confirmed it is actually 5ms I believe they are getting this model confused with the VS229H which is 14ms and doesn't have TRACE FREE overdrive option like the VS229H-P does.Anyway, great monitor and I guess i was lucky because I see no backlight bleed with mine.

Fantastic cheap IPS. Bought three of these for Eyefinity and couldn't be happier. Colors look good and viewing angles are perfect for multi monitor gaming. No noticeable lag while gaming either. For the money these can't be beat.
