Appearance: the board has a very attractive design. The RGB labels on the board light up even when the computer is powered off, which is a very nice effect. This was not present on a comparable MSI board that I also checked out.
Function: I have had no issues with the board thus far. The RGB lights have had no issues, the troubleshooting two digit pad present on the board works as desired, and the BIOS accomplishes its task. No connectivity issues and this included when I installed a non-Asus GPU (installed immediately)
BIOS: Very easy to work with, I used this to maximize the RAM memory frequency. This was easily accomplished. I did not explore the more advanced functions as I do not know enough about them.
Compatibility with components: no compatibility issues with Intel 10th gen CPU, DDR4 RAM, EVGA GeForce RTX 2060, case RGB, case power buttons, PSU.
Quality: clearly high quality and the aesthetics of the board are very nice. Were I to somehow drop my case off the desk, I would see the board surviving the fall no problem.
Verdict: more expensive motherboard that comes with attractive aesthetics and functionality needed for a gamer or researcher (myself more of the latter). 5/5, highly recommend if you have the money for it. I have not tried other boards (this is my first build), so cannot compare it to less expensive MoBos

Dead on arrival. Qled (light on mobo) for checking error on parts did not turn on at all. I have all working parts plugged in on secondary computer to check but this motherboard is does not even spin the fans. Pathetic.
I have asked for a replacement and we will see if that one works. I will update once I receive.
Update: Replacement is working.
Update week 1: would turn off without any warnings and restart.

Look this is a 300$ mobo, it's feature rich and part of the ROG Strix line so i'm expecting a lot with it.
-Pros, good VRM temps, stable bios, easy to use software and lighting. Easy install and access to headers, good build quality and feature rich.
-Cons, The "smart AI" is absolutely terrible. Like it will shove 1.5V into your CPU if you tell it you have a water cooler and follow the "training" process. Effectively what it tries to do is have you setup what cooling solution you have in the BIOS and proceeds to have you load up the computer on cinebench a couple of times and trains the algorithm with the data to fine tune your Voltage, Temps, and Clocks. Good on paper, terrible in practice. I have a 10700k, intel CPU's are not happy above 1.35v, I have no Idea why they think shoving 1.5v is safe or a good idea regardless of temps. That type of voltage will destroy a CPU easily within a couple months. Either disable it and enforce all of Intels limits and play with your boost duration and speed profiles or manually dial in an OC but do not use the Auto OC feature! Also Intel needs to get their stuff together when it comes to the LAN drivers on the board, it works but it's extremely unstable and doesn't seem to be an RMA issue but really immature LAN and Wifi6 drivers. The Bluetooth also suffers the same fate as all three are wrapped in the same chip-set.
Conclusion:
Besides these faults it's a great board. I've manually OC'd at 5.0 Ghz on my 10700k w/ the lowest voltage I can run to stay stable. My VRM stays cool, the M.2 Drives run cool under the heat sinks provided, everything else works as expected, RAM has no issues and the BIOS is stable. That being said it's a 300$ Mobo, I expect stuff to work regardless of age tbh it's premium product especially when good OC boards can be had for 100-200$ max.
TLDR: If you have a LAN/Wifi Card or adapter and a Blue tooth adapter than this board will be fine, if not then look elsewhere it's not worth the money when key features don't even work. It's not just me, this is a problem for every user that owns this mobo. Happy with it but kinda disappointed.

The motherboard worked for about 30 days with no issues. After 30 days it would not boot to bios, no action from the motherboard. Did all the normal testing, removed all the devices, tested memory, tested power, and endless more testing but no change. Motherboard is dead. I wouldn't recommend this product as I am dealing with RMA's and they have no instant replace policy after 30 days. It died on day 31. I am paying to ship the motherboard to ASUS. No joy on ASUS support they are awful and clueless. I am hopeful they will ship me a replacement but the way they kept asking about damage leads me to believe they will not fix without more costs even though I have no damage and no issues with water or anything that would explain the issues.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY: You will have to remove the integrated I/O shield and throw it in garbage, as it doesn't fit in any standard Cases intended for ATX motherboards. Probably, before you figure out that it doesn't fit, you'll bend something in the process. Just buy some other motherboard with non-integrated I/O Shield. Asus doesn't deserve any clients for not giving a damn about them.

When you order this board ensure your power supply has a 8 +4 pin cpu supply cable in it, or your build will be delayed till you get a adapter. Very annoying asus.
I bought this board and cpu to replace my 8700k and rog hero mobo that only lasted 2 years almost to date. Think this will be Asus' s. Last chance before I jump ship to another brand.

I have had 3 other asus boards. This is horrible. If you a search of z490i asus freeze, you will find that the board simply doesnt work. I have been messing with mine for 2 days., still restarts randomly or freezes.

So, I actually had money money stolen on this product. The previous Amazon supplier (GAMING LOWEST PRICE ON THE MARKET) stole my money, and never gave me my package. Amazon being the saints they are cleared that away for me, and I was able to purchase the same motherboard at Best Buy. Really wonderful product with great guide for anyone new to putting a computer together. It works wonders on my unlocked intel core and pairing with the 2070 MSI Trifrozer has yielded a lot of fun. I think this chip offers the best value for your money in this price range.

Running my I7-10700k @5.3ghz All core with no AVC offset. Very stable power delivery for a mITX board.
The only thing that hasn't stood up to every specification or claim, is that the VRM fan reports 0rpm even after bios update. It is a non issue.

My husband bought this item and has no idea what "Warmth", "Thickness" or "Sheerness" means, pertaining to this item. So there wasn't an accurate way to rate them. He's pleased with it's performance this far and says it arrived very quickly.

One of the SATA ports is broken leading to 3 hours of troubleshooting steps
Amour Crate software is trash. It won't install despite 3 hours of troubleshooting steps.
Update: After a full windows reinstall and avoiding the dead sata port, I was able to install armour crate. Everythong is working well now.

This motherboard is absolutely gorgeous. The rgb is pretty, it has SO many ports and features it’s fantastic. I got a i7-10700k and it pairs wonderfully with this board.

buying a pcie ethernet port because this one doesnt consistently work, and might be the reason im getting weird lag, wifi is ok with antenna tho

I've always had MSI boards for my builds however I decided to try a ASUS board given the great reviews and it fit my needs for features. if you don't have a CDDVD drive make sure you have the Ethernet drivers or WIFI drivers available already downloaded or you may run into not having any internet access after installing windows.

One star off for sending a motherboard with a messed up thermal pad on the vrms. Easy fix, just a couple screws on the bottom but any non tech savvy person would've missed this, and that would've caused damage.
Other than that so far no problems, I'll be updating this review as time goes on though

This motherboard has been running beautifully in my itx build. It is handling an i7-10700k with an RTX 3080 no problem! I love that both m.2 slots are on the front of the board, so accessing the second one isn't a huge hassle. Overclocks nicely too!

If you plan to use the 10900k with this mb don't. For some reason this board will not let the 10900k boost to 5.3 it stops it at 4.8
