Some people have called me an Apple "fanboy", which is pretty darn ridiculous when you consider that I haven't been a fan of Apple computers since the 90's when they came in any color you wanted as long as it was beige. At any rate, my experience with "modern" Apple products has been kind of hit and miss. I wasn't a fan of the white MacBook my sister got back when OS X was young, and I've had varying degrees of success using ipods, pod touches, and more recently my wife's MacBook Pro, an iPad Mini, and two iPhones.
My experiences with a hand-me-down iPhone 4 were disastrous from the beginning. For starters, it CONSTANTLY dropped calls. People couldn't hear me if I was sitting down, and when phone calls DID work they were filled with static and extremely low in volume. Text messages took forever to send, the cell signal was abysmally slow and constantly dropping, and the battery life was terrible as well. To top it all off the thing's microphone didn't work so I couldn't record YouTube videos. Overall impression? Yuck! All that said, despite the horrific time I had getting it to play Infinity Blade and sending texts etc, and the fact that it would refuse to play songs from my iTunes (it removed songs as soon as it played them sometimes for no apparent reason and the phone backups constantly corrupted), it was the only smartphone I had and my wife insisted I keep using it so that she could send me pictures in texts (otherwise I would have gladly gone back to a dumb phone).
A few years passed, and my wife got two phone upgrades. Her first one was to a Samsung Galaxy S4, and the second was to an LG G3. She tried to give me the S4 but I didn't want it. When I announced I was going to get a G3 she said if I got it she was taking it. So I let her have it. In the meantime it was getting harder and harder to justify paying my enormous phone bill to Verizon when I had a phone that couldn't really make phone calls or do anything else. So in the end, despite my better judgement, I slapped down almost three hundred dollars to get a White iPhone 5c and after jumping through some hoops (had to order a Sim Card from Verizon and Activate the Phone) I finally got it working. My thoughts?
If you are using a sad iPhone 4 throw that piece of junk away and get one of these!
First of all, despite all the benchmarks saying that the 5S and 6 are a gajillion times faster than this little phone, it's still WORLDS faster than an iPhone 4! Infinity Blade III takes seconds to open instead of minutes. The color and contrast are much better. It's built much sturdier and has a slick, smooth, extremely comfortable feel. Sending texts is instant. Navigation is smooth, liquid, and incredibly responsive. The first time I turned it on it transferred everything off of my old phone using iCloud in mere minutes. And the 4G LTE results in persistent, fast, responsive Internet that is much less of a drain on the battery. I took the phone to work today and when I got home it still had 75% left on it's battery!
What else can I say? It includes Siri, the camera is greatly improved, it supports IOS 8 and runs great with it (not choppy as iPhone 4 was with IOS7). It's beautiful, sturdy, and relatively cheap. As I said, around three hundred bucks for a refurbished one that looked new, and with 32 GB of space.
I haven't transferred my MP3s over from iTunes yet because I'm currently cleaning up my music collection, but it after cleanup and loading it up with MP3s they all play without disappearing like on my iPhone 4, I'd say this phone is perfect. As it is, it's by FAR the best phone I've ever used. Very, very nice!

I have had the Apple iPhone 5c for almost 3 months now, and in that time I have come up with a list of good and bad things about this phone. I use my phone every day, and I do everything from watching videos to playing games to surfing the internet to using video analysis apps. Overall, I think it is a very solid phone for someone who wants a reliably good smartphone, but doesn’t want or need the latest and greatest iPhone.
The pros about this phone are as follows:
So far, this phone can run the latest iOS system, so it isn't that out of date.
It runs very smoothly, and it doesn’t feel or look old. What I mean is, it may not be the fastest of the fast, or have the most vivid screen, but it is by far still very usable. To use some perspective, some people still have the iPhone 4. That doesn’t even run iOS 7, and it can’t really hold its own as a practical, everyday primary smartphone for a person. The iPhone 5c still holds its own very much.
Siri runs very well on the iPhone 5c, so it will set your reminders for you, call or text for you, or even give you directions. Everything works well with Siri.
It is a very competent phone for people who are content with just having a solid, reliable smartphone.
The cons about this phone are as follows:
The battery life isn't great. The phone is usually down to about 30% battery by 5:00 if it was at 100% the night before and I’ve used it to play games for maybe an hour and a half tops.
The screen is kind of small, but it works just fine. It is not too small to watch videos or play games, and again, if you are the kind of person who is content with not the latest and greatest, then it will suit your purposes just fine.
Like all iPhones, the screen is made of glass, so if you drop it, it is likely to break. I have a case on mine, and it still broke when I dropped it. Granted, it was on asphalt, but the screen costs about $130 to fix at least, and with this old iPhone, it is in the grey area where it is not quite enough to justify buying a new one, but it is a very pricey repair.
In conclusion, if you want a good, reliable smartphone, but you don’t want to pay the full price for the latest model, this is a good phone for you. It runs the latest iOS, so it is still up to date. Everything runs smoothly, and the biggest con is the battery life, but if you have a car charger or are away from home for less that a day, you’ll be fine. Overall, the Apple iPhone 5c is a good buy.

My family is what I would consider an Apple family, we have three Apple computers, two iPads, countless iPods, and have always and I mean always, used the iPhone. On top of that, we have all heartily recommended Apple products to friends and family. I love Apple and vowed to not touch an Android phone with a ten foot pole, ever. In fact, I used to shake my head at those poor Android phone users because I figured they can't possibly know what they are missing. When my sister switched to Android, I actually felt personally slighted.
As soon as I could, I got the 5c and I was so excited to explore all the new features it had to offer. Despite endless ribbing from me about how sorry she will be, my wife shocked me by deciding to switch and upgraded to an Android phone at the same time because she said she was tired of the same old, same old. Since she had 14 days to return it if she didn't like it, she felt like it was worth a shot. To my absolute surprise(and horror!), I found myself playing with her phone endlessly on day one while mine sat virtually untouched. I was streaming on her phone in beautiful HD on a crisp, bright, larger screen and loving it. What I had always assumed would be a clunky interface, was smooth and slick.
Ok, I told myself, enough horsing around, time to enjoy mine because after all, I love iPhones and Android phones are stupid. First impression, I like the feel of the 4c. It has a solid, feel despite how some people feel about the plastic housing. The screen is bright and crisp. It's fast and doesn't hog the battery. It's like owning a completely new phone, no wait, it's not. With a slightly, and I mean slightly bigger screen and some upgrades, it is just like the iPhone I upgraded from. Not that fun.
Now here is where Apple lovers will swoop in to "defend" Apple as though they have some vested interest in the company. Even as an Apple lover myself, I don't understand this. I notice that any review that does not extol the iPhone in all it's glory causes people to freak out. Really? Why spend your precious time defending any company or their products for them? I admit I know what it is like when someone says they don't care for an Apple product. It almost feels personal, almost. But to blast someone for their opinion is just plain dumb. Apple will not call you and personally thank you. They don't care. Surely you have something better to do with your time. If you like your phone, great! But everyone is entitled to their opinion. And the fact that I almost feel shame giving the iPhone a less than five star rating tells you that Apple products are a huge part of my life. But, I will not just blindly love a product just because I love the company. I don't owe any company my complete devotion or my dollars and I would be embarrassed and saddened if I did. Regardless, I am sure my review will be picked apart by fanboys as soon as it is posted. I'll say it again, this is just my opinion folks. If you like the 5c, then by all means get it and love it. I just wanted to post an opinion from someone who loves Apple and yet, isn't crazy about this phone.
That being said however, if you love the iPhone usability and are used to it, you will find much of the same here. That is what nearly made me keep mine. And Siri is a pretty neat feature too. It is a solid little phone and you probably won't hate it, especially if you already like the iPhone. But there isn't much new here.
The thing is, at one time, the iPhone broke new ground. The first time I laid eyes on one, I practically fainted because it was so freaking cool. There is no question that the iPhone paved the way for every phone that has followed since and in my opinion, Apple keeps setting the benchmarks that cause other tech companies to have to scramble just to catch up. Unfortunately, this phone offers little innovation and while it is a solid little number, it is getting tired. I am looking forward to the next iPhone because it sounds like there will be a lot of changes. I am almost positive I will be frothing at the mouth to switch back to iPhone in the future if what I have read is true. And I hope it is. For now though, I returned my 5c and got an Android phone(I never, ever thought I would be typing that sentence!!!). I love my new phone and for the next two years I will stick with it. But we will see where Apple goes from here. In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy my Apple computers, iPads, and iPods because wow, they are all flawless. Thanks for reading!

For entry into the Apple universe or as an upgrade to older iOS models, the iPhone 5c is an attractive option with a number of caveats any potential purchaser should consider before acquiring. First and foremost, based on a plethora of reviews here, purchasing from vendors here appears to be a crap shoot so it would be prudent to investigate the seller’s history equally as much as the device itself. A refurbished or used device might be a worthwhile option but certainly not if the product was misrepresented or switched. Unfortunately, the seller (Big Apple Cellular) I purchased from and found to be completely above board is no longer offering the 16GB model via the fulfilled by Amazon distribution channel.
Although less costly than the iPhones 5S, 6 and 6 plus, this device still represents a considerable investment for most potential purchasers even if obtained via one of the carrier plans that require an extended term contract. The 5c features the same less robust processor found with the iPhone 5. Based on anticipated use, it probably will not present much of a concern for most potential purchasers but it is another consideration. Many of the enhanced features of the higher end models are not essential for my needs so this price point was a good fit for me but users who just have to have all the bells and whistles like finger print recognition will find the device somewhat deficient in a range of areas.
With the unlocked device there is greater flexibility in service plan choices which can be critical for users who may have a need for mobile services during international travel. As is the case with all iPhones, the 5c will not support installation of dual sim cards (it requires the nano size) but the switch out to another card is relatively easy.
It has been my experience the complement of applications for iOS operating systems exceeds available content for Android devices and especially Windows phones, although some specific applications available for the other devices have a great deal of appeal and utility, so that is another factor that has to be evaluated before making a decision. Even for users already entrenched in the Apple corral, there will be a likelihood of additional costs for accessories since the lightning connectors are incompatible with the 30 pin type without the purchase of adapters…and in the main, it is best to stick with the premium priced Apple manufactured or certified accessories.
The signal range for the 5c is decent but not outstanding even compared to a number of less expensive devices from other manufacturers like the BLU mobile phones (although it must be mentioned my Windows and Android devices from that company WILL NOT support 4G LTE). Similarly, the battery life of the 5c is rated at 8 hours and I have found the time between charges with many other devices performing very comparable activity to far exceed what I have experienced with the 5c.
Essentially, if your needs demand you stay within the iOS environment and you also are reasonably confident you can live without the sexier features, the 5c is a very recommendable choice

After using an iPhone 4, I was ready for something new and switched to an HTC phone for the novelty of it. Cut to a year later, the thing was barely functional. I realize not all Android-based phones have so many issues, but my experience was off-putting to say the least. I replaced the HTC with an LG G3, but soon after the update to the new Android Lollipop, my once good phone became the biggest piece of crap I had ever seen, with a battery life that could go from 100% to being in the red by noon. After taking it back, I decided it was time to go back to the iPhone.
One thing I absolutely missed was something most people would not consider a bonus: the lack of customization on iOS. I am one of those people who feels overwhelmed when presented with too many options. I HATED the fact that my Android phones were so open to customization--rather than finding it liberating, to me it just felt like a lot more work. Having to decide what went on my home screen, dragging and re-arranging apps, finding widgets, deciding between clock faces, different themes that change all the icons...it was too much. I like that all I do on my iPhone is simply change out the damn wallpaper and I'm done with it. Some say Apple is too restrictive, I think Android is too liberal with their options.
But the biggest reason to switch back to the iPhone was undoubtedly getting away from Android's new Lollipop OS. I encountered nothing but poor performance on my device since updating it and the battery life, as mentioned, plummeted overnight. If you Google the problems with Lollipop, it quickly becomes apparent that these are widespread issues affecting multiple devices. The issues are so pervasive, they even have news articles talking about how upset some people are with the update. iOS? No issue.
The iPhone 5C, while having a plastic backing rather than the traditional aluminum, does not feel cheap. It's a glossy, lacquered finish that is less slippery than the aluminum and probably more durable, though I'm not exactly going to drop my phone to figure out. The display is Retina across the board, on all versions, which means clean lines, sharp text, and wonderful color. Battery life is better than my iPhone 4's was, with me needing to charge it every other day with heavy use or every two days with moderate usage. Sound quality = great and of course the app store is as comprehensive as ever.
I think I'll be doing what I should have done in the first place: sticking to the iPhone.

The iPhone 5C, while having a plastic backing rather than the traditional aluminum, does not feel cheap. It's a glossy, lacquered finish that is less slippery than the aluminum and probably more durable, though I'm not exactly going to drop my phone to figure out. The display is Retina across the board, on all versions, which means clean lines, sharp text, and wonderful color. Battery life is better than my iPhone 4's was, with me needing to charge it every other day with heavy use or every two days with moderate usage. Sound quality = great and of course the app store is as comprehensive as ever.
I think I'll be doing what I should have done in the first place: sticking to the iPhone.

My Samsung Stratosphere II is a year old but now that a family member got an iPhone 5c, I can finally compare them.
PROS:
- iTunes music
- most kids like to use FaceTime for videophone rather than Skype even though it's universal
- Battery life increased from 8 hours to 10 hours but it's nowhere close to Samsung's 17 hours.
- Most gadgets for smartphones have software for iPhone before Androids.
CONS:
- Because the screen is glass instead of plastic like Android, all iPhone users have to protect their phones in an otter box so now the phone is thick which makes it look like it belonged to Mad Maxx.
- no wireless charging
- I can't correct a misspelled word by positioning the cursor in the middle of the word; instead I have to go all the way to the beginning or end of the word and delete everything to get to the position I want to get to.
- No IR blaster that transforms your device into a universal remote control. Come on, you can't get your kids' attention when they're watching tv unless you press the pause button.
- can't wifi over to my pc to copy any file formats back and forth
- Can't surf on websites that show videos in the Flash format which is used on most websites.
- Can't create speeddial icons to quickly call people by pressing an icon. Instead, there's the clunky FAVORITES or use Siri (and wait for it to think and hope that it heard you correctly especially while I'm driving with the windows open creating sound interference)
- The front of the phone doesn't have a place for me to leave a message like "If found, call 123-4567" so that someone can return it to me.
- Retina screen is not as good as Samsung. Samsung saves the #1 omoled screen technology for itself and sells #2 retina screens to Apple.
- Can't easily copy files from pc to phone but have to go through iTunes and even that is limited to only a few types of files. In other words, I can't use the iPhone as a $5 USB flash drive.
- Glass screen is fragile compared to plastic android screen.
- Because the screen is fragile, I have to buy a case for it which now makes it thicker and won't fit in phone holsters.
- Lighting cord is stupid because I can't attach it to my car so that I can control via the car's head unit, docking stations, etc.
- Can't install wifi hotspot software without paying monthly charges via phone carrier.
- Can't have an extra battery or bigger battery (android phones can have bigger batteries up to 40 hours)
- New battery replacements must be done by Apple at $130 whereas android batteries are $3 on Amazon and I can change a battery myself.
- With an iPhone, I am without a phone while I send my phone out for a new battery.
- Virtual keyboard does not have haptic feedback
- No NFC chip to allow me to tap another phone to share/send a contact card or photos.
- Virtual keyboard still not as good as physical keyboard, especially when it guesses what you're typing and misses the mark.
- Can't expand the memory by buying a $10 micro SD card.
- Apple tried to copy Android's alerts and notifications of new email, etc. but Android's multiple alerts and the ability to dismiss them is still better.
- Android has google maps turn-by-turn GPS navigation but iPhone doesn't.
- Customization: iPhone doesn't let me delete some apps I don't want to see whereas Android gives me complete control of keeping or deleting any app. In other words, Android lets me customize so much that I don't need to root it like Apple iPhone.
- iPhone doesn't have widgets. For example, I have a TO DO list widget and I can resize the window.
- iPhone can't install apps remotely to my phone like Android's Google Play Store. This is a convenience and not a big deal.

Background
I consume apples. I have always been 100 percent Apple 100 percent of the time. I have experience with the IPod, IPad and of course, IPhone. Before my time with the IPhone 5c (green), I had the original IPhone 4. It was old and out of date therefore, (typical of many Apple products) would randomly shut down with a full battery, opening and closing random apps, and decide that I wanted to face time all of my friends instead of voice call them. It was definitely time for an update.
I knew for sure I wanted another Apple device, but I still did all my research on my two possible choices, the IPhone 5s and IPhone 5c. I had talked to everyone I saw with either of the two phones—and I do mean everyone, I made a lot of new friends actually--repetitively asking “Do you like it?” “Was it worth the price?” “What’s the difference between the two?” I must have asked some people at least four or five times, drilling them about their cell phone, and probably driving them crazy. After plenty of contemplation, I had made the choice to purchase the IPhone 5c in green.
I cannot explain the emotions running through my head when the package arrived at my door. Finally no more awkward conversations regarding why my ear was so eager to face time my best friend! I pulled out the shiny, futuristic looking, signature Apple packaging and removed my brand new phone. It was beautiful.
Pros
This phone is definitely what I was looking for, a solid step up from the 4 and a complete relief that I no longer have to worry about it randomly shutting down mid-tweet.
-It’s $100 less than the IPhone 5S, enough said.
-It’s more durable! I do have a case on it, but it isn’t anything fancy, I think I paid $15 dollars for it. However, the number of times I have accidently chucked this sucker across the driveway is actually kind of sad. But the phone survived in one piece, without a scratch or system glitch.
-Not to mention the plastic backing comes in a variety of pretty colors! I love the green one and I get complements on it all the time (This is also coming from someone who originally wanted just a black one and was super disappointed when I found out the 5c wasn’t available in black)
Cons
I love this phone and I can hardly think of any cons, so this is probably better off labeled as the “Heads up” category
-This is the 5c, not the 5s, so this phone lacks the finger print scan, slow motion video and motion processor (hence $100 less)
- The battery does seem to die quickly, but if I close all the open apps it lasts basically just as long as my old phone. I don’t see why everyone is so upset about it.
- This phone may begin to consume your life. I have noticed that this phone has not left my side since I bought it. When I lose track of it for more than 10 minutes, my heart begins to beat out of my chest and my brain begins to shift into panic mode. Similar emotions flood my body when I drop it as well. I have this urge to check my texts, e-mails, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and even the time about 300 times a day. There will be times when all of my friends and I are hanging out and aren't even socializing, just staring at our screens. It very well could be controlling my mind.
I give this phone 5 out of 5 stars because I have no legitimate bad words for it. Overall this is the best phone I have ever had and I definitely recommend it. Apple most certainly knocked this one out of the park!

Price: In Singapore you can buy this phone for a cost of Singapore $988 minus about Sing$50 GST refund if you are taking the phone out of the country, coming to about US $744. This makes the amazon price seem reasonable to me if you are in the US and can take delivery of it. Looking at other countries in SE Asia it seems like the cheapest you can get it is around $700 and the most expensive around $800. The stores in Singapore will do a misleading bundling promotion where a free battery pack is given if you buy an iphone, but once you buy the phone they say the battery offered is out of stock.
System: As far as the software on the phone itself, it seems to be great and easy to navigate. The ios has run much smoother than Mavericks OSX runs on my MBP with no lag in typing or freeze when switching between programs. Importing contacts from my Samsung was easy, managing songs, apps, etc was much easier than on my old ipod 2.0. Syncing data with icloud and other computers and devices is also easy if you have wireless internet access. Living somewhere with infrequent internet, being able to manage things easily through itunes on my computer connected to the iphone is nice as well, particularly in downloading recordings made on the phone. Set up is very quick if you have a sim card-- if not the phone will not let you run set up, which is annoying if you wanted to just use the phone to play music and videos while you transitioned off of your current cellphone. Using Safari to access the internet doesn't seem as easy as on the Lumina or Galaxy or even the old ipod, but perhaps I just need more time using it.
Features: The main feature that I was looking for was the quality of the microphones for recording spoken text and conversations and it is a dramatic upgrade to the quality found in my Samsung Duos and better than the Blackberry Curve as well. I am very happy with it and hope the phone can become a portable recording device.
The slot to insert the SIM card is much more difficult to access than past phones I've had (Motorola, Samsung, Nokia, Blackberry). You won't need to do this if you don't travel much to other countries or have several different carriers in the same country, but if you do you might want to keep some of the older cellphones around for this. The hermetically sealed SIM card seems to be the trend now with Nokia Lumina also being difficult to switch in and switch out SIM cards from different carriers and countries.
Touch display works well and colors are very clear.
Software: The GPS and maps are very good and helpful for navigating new cities, but are more helpful in walking than driving with incomplete information for one way streets in many cities in Asia. With the app store you have access to all sorts of useful applications.
Sound: The speaker on the phone seems much quieter than that on the old ipod and much much quieter than speakers on Samsung, Nokia, and other smart phones. This won't be a problem if you use the iphone headphones and microphone combination most of the time. With the headset the sound is fantastic.
Add ons: In SE Asia it is difficult to find any waterproof phone case for the iphone 5c as most are set up for the iphone 5/5s series of phones. I don't know why they felt a need to make a different size as this would make it easier for everyone.

In the end, a good deal on a great phone. However, listing stated it was for GSM (AT&T) ONLY. When it arrived, first thing I noticed was a Verizon sticker. Apparently starting with iPhone 5, Verizon and AT&T phones both have SIM slots (not used if Verizon) - but listing stated otherwise. KLAMP customer service was easy to deal with, explained the tech and quick considering Christmas season.
I am middle aged with a decent income, could get in line with the teenagers and adult "Lemmings" every time Apples "blesses" the world with a new phone. But if you wait 12 months or so, you can save $100 - $300 and still have a great phone.
Want to have some fun; if you know someone who can't wait for the next iPhone - ask them exactly how they will actually use the new "features" they can't live without. 9 out of 10 go blank for about 30 seconds. Don't misunderstand me, I love the iPhone but these annual "new" phones have only minor changes applicable to 80% of the users. Wait a model or two, then you actually notice the improvements. Just my opinion - Get Off My Lawn, you kids! Sincerely, Ward Cleaver.

I have a certain part of my life always switched phones. Doesn't matter what phone I have, seems I'm never happy with them after about a year. I decided to leave my DROID RAZR and give the iPhone 5C a chance. My first black/white unit ended up water damaged, and that led me back to Android. The phone I chose was an S4 and it was HORRIBLE. I can't not recommend that phone enough.
Anyway, I found a good deal on another white 5C 32GB and decided I should buy it. I am pleasantly surprised with the phone. Very loud speakers, SIRI is awesome as always. I thought at first the charging port would inconvenience me, having all of the same hookups, but ALL i needed was a lightning port converter and I was back in business the way I was working originally. With my job-site radio I can use the auxiliary hook up and all works well.
There are two things that irk me to no end about this phone and I cannot stress them enough, that said, I feel that would bring the phones rating down if I impacted such the score on the overall rating.
My problems are this: Apple doesn't allow you to set songs as ringtones, YES, there are a couple of applications that do just that out there, but they involve you using different software and different things on Itunes, wish it was as easy as it was on the Android phones.
The second problem is the camera has been somewhat iffy since day one. My 5C was still in warranty (the new one) so I did swap the phone and have also restored it once, the pictures just either look dark or cloudy. I've done EVERYTHING that Apple has said, and still come up on same problem. I've just had it on this phone, and I've owned a 2G, 3G, 4 and 4S before this.
However for the 16Gb and the starting price of 99$, you can't pass on that deal. You are getting a great phone for a great price. I had to order a 32G because I have way too many pictures and apps, but that phone was the price of the standard 5S 16G. This phone works as well, who cares its plastic on the back it won't break as much as the other iPhone's do, and you can get a case and it won't annoy you.
There will always be a "bagger" of a certain item, but I think you can trust someone who works in the mobile phone industry fixing and selling phones. I really like this phone and I think Apple is on the right track. Same speed as my exes 5S phone. I just think a lot of people think, wow, it's made of plastic, I don't want to deal with a plastic phone, but you need to realize, it's the same phone and comes in different colors. I think it's better than the 5S personally.
Another thing I wanted to also say is that cases weren't readily available when this first launched. However, this was remedied in recent months by manufacturers of cases such as INCASE and Incipio stepping up and making functional cases everyone loves!
If you are on a tight budget, or just want a nice phone in a cool color, choose this. You won't regret it, I know that much

I was excited to get my first smartphone. My excitement quickly faded when I opened the package: the supposedly new iphone 5C came with a flimsy lightning to usb cable that was already broken on the usb end and was obviously fake since it was made of very cheap plastic (nothing like the real thing), and didn't have the signature "designed by Apple in California" on it. The two apple stickers were also missing from the box. The phone was all greasy and looked like it had been handled multiple times. The original screen protector sticker featuring the apps had been replaced by a shoddy clear plastic one that was even off-center. Being very familiar with the way original, brand-new iphone 5C's look, I knew something was wrong. To find out for sure, I headed straight to the closest Apple store to show them this iphone and investigate its history.
I was told this iphone 5c is an A1456 model which was originally intended for the Japanese market, while I ordered the advertised A1532, which is the unlocked US version. The Apple reps not only confirmed that the lightning cable I received with my order was a cheap knockoff, but added that it might be unsafe to use since the metal connector going into the usb port comes off constantly, unless pushed back in, and leaves all the wiring exposed. Besides, Apple said they could not guarantee the correct operation and durability of this iphone since it has most likely been returned by a previous buyer and potentially has hidden issues. They were very perplexed that nobody at Amazon (since this was an Amazon-fulfilled order) bothered to check that all the original accessories were included before shipping it out. Once I got back home, I sent it right back to Amazon for a full refund.
Call me picky, but after spending over $500 and giving my business to a seller, I don't appreciate being sent a returned iphone (and the wrong model at that) from which someone took the original lightning cable and apple stickers. What's worse, the seller (MBC Mobile) even tried to pass it off as new. This is FRAUD. This whole experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth, I'm seriosuly considering closing my Amazon account. Amazon even made matters worse by censoring my review four times with the excuse it didn't meet their guidelines before I called them threatening to close my account right away if they didn't publish it. Amazon, you must realize that censoring customers' truthful reviews when you don't like what they have to say won't keep them coming back and will destroy their confidence in you.
Update: I ended buying the iphone 5C from the Apple website: it cost a bit more, but it saved me a lot of time, aggravation and stress. You're strongly advised to do likewise unless you want to be taken for a $500 ride.
I was told this iphone 5c is an A1456 model which was originally intended for the Japanese market, while I ordered the advertised A1532, which is the unlocked US version. The Apple reps not only confirmed that the lightning cable I received with my order was a cheap knockoff, but added that it might be unsafe to use since the metal connector going into the usb port comes off constantly, unless pushed back in, and leaves all the wiring exposed. Besides, Apple said they could not guarantee the correct operation and durability of this iphone since it has most likely been returned by a previous buyer and potentially has hidden issues. They were very perplexed that nobody at Amazon (since this was an Amazon-fulfilled order) bothered to check that all the original accessories were included before shipping it out. Once I got back home, I sent it right back to Amazon for a full refund.

I bought this phone after my daughter shattered hers in an unfortunate fall. I told her we could replace it with a used phone, so I looked here on Amazon first. I was a little nervous about buying used, and risking it being compatible with Verizon (my research on used phones turned up confusion on what would work with GMA or CDMA phones).
This was the first time I've bought a used phone. I initially chose one in Excellent condition but it was snatched up before I took the plunge and bought it. I then chose one that was considered "Good". I expected a slightly beaten up but working phone.
When I opened the box and prepared for a beat up phone, I was happy to see it looks brand new. I was very pleased.
I took this to Verizon to check compatibility and have them do all the activation work etc. It took a few minutes and we were done.
As for the iPhone 5c, my daughter loves this phone and was lost without it.

I'm a big fan of Apple, as I'm sure a lot people are.
My whole family owns this product and all love it. Although, my mom does have trouble with it every once in while (but, that's just her being her).
I bought it used, so there were a few scratches; but they were very small, and easily covered up by a case. I didn't find any scratches on the screen too, which made me very happy.
Before, I had a smaller brand before and there's definitely a difference.
I really enjoy my IPhone. I got in a pink, and I'm not really a big fan of it; but I do really, enjoy this color. -My friends and family agree too.
A big pro that I love is face time and group chat. As I couldn't do that on my old phone. I also like, the AppStore much better. All the many apps and games are great. Battery life is great. Siri is a big help too.
The only con I can think of, is the lighting charger. I do wish that it was universal; as I do have so many, and it makes it easier when I'm out and my phones about to die.

I believe I was purchasing a new - not refurbhished item. However, the phone has been problematic since it was activated. After a few months of use, it began to power itself down automatically after 5 to 20 minutes of use. It also didn't hold a charge for very long. I took it to a recommended repair shop and the technician suggested that the battery could be bad. Upon opening the phone to change the battery, he discovered a somewhat bloated battery - indicating that it had probably been wet at one time. (I can attest that the phone has never been dunked!) He also said that "stickers" inside the case indicate that the phone was a refurbished one. I had never had it serviced before and as said, I thought I was buying a new phone. When I ordered, there was no indication to say it was not anything but new. Upon notifying the seller that I received a used/refurbished rather than a new phone, I received a canned reply that basically said I had 30 days from purchase to return the phone - a totally unsatisfactory answer. However, for $65 (plus tax) spent on a new battery, the phone now works well. I certainly would not buy from this dishonest provider again.

I am through with this phone since day one ive been putting up with its bulls***. Ot has a number of issues, it would just reset on me for no reason mutlple time within like 5 minutes. Then sometime it would just completly turn off for no reason and when i try to turn it on it doesnt. So i have to hold the power button and home button at the same time just so it can turn back on. And sometime that doesnt work and i have to wait for hours until it come back on. Sometime i fear that it going to stop working completly.I dont know if the seller was aware with this issue but i am very upset with using it. I regret buying this phone from this seller and i regret not returning it because i thought all the problem would go away in a month and since you could only return product with in a month. I just wish that the seller will read this and offer me a new iphone but sadly i gotta put up with this phone until i have enough money to buy new iphone
