Several sources have confirmed they have been switching the controller for much slower r/w speeds. Doing the same swap for older NAND.

technically we never specified which controller or NAND was to come installed, so we're covered legally..... so screw off. 🖕

TOP NOTCH customer service right there. 🤷‍♂️

Have the 2tb, and 1TB thankfully they're still within warranty time.

I purchased the "3500mb/s" version of the 2TB model and I think that "3500" must be an average of the read and write speeds. (Please refer to the attached screenshot from Blackmagic's diskspeed test tool.) The drive is installed into a PCIe4 slot on an x570mobo with a 3900x.

Note that this test is performed after having the drive for a year and using it as my "frequently played Steam games" drive. It has about 300gigs of tv shows and a terabyte of games like GTA5, some Bioshocks, Monster Hunter World. So the drive has seen fair use over time both in sequential reading as well as random access.

I *FEEL* like Monster Hunter loads more quickly off of the NVME versus the SATA3 SSD I had it on before this, but MHW on PC is so much better than PS4 I can't be sure (nor bothered to move the install back to check).

This doesn't do a damned thing for GTA5 (or online) load times. GTA5 is bad and nothing helps it perform well. Shame upon Rockstar and all their managers. The poor performance here is nothing to do with the drive, though.

Watching shows requires almost no speed, so if you wanted to waste your money on this instead of a rust drive for storing video, the experience would be fine.

I've done a little video editing off of this (720p60 prores) and it feels good. While I wouldn't dare use this as a capture destination, storing proxies here has, in my experience, been good. I don't believe that reading off of it affects drive life, but I don't know enough about that to talk about it beyond how it felt. The proxies I made were done overnight, so I don't know what effect the drive speed might have had.

I'm content with the drive, and am content with the price I paid (270usd) but I wouldn't blindly buy a second one and will definitely do research on competition in the future.

I have no opinion about the manufacturer or its support structure, as the drive still works fine a year in.

I was swayed by their offer of cloning/transfer software. DON’T BE! It’s only for Windows, And is from 2013 addition. The company that makes it it’s nothing but pleasant and helpful but these guys are BSing to call it “valuable” software.
On the plus side it wasn’t hard to format. But getting it recognized as a blessed boot drive as far more complicated and ended up taking a day and a half. Jury still out. I’ve got at least two hours and 35 minutes left to find out if it actually is a boot drive now.
Even if the rest of everything goes smoothly, I would look elsewhere rather deal with the company so deceptive and indifferent to the rest of their customers. So far I haven’t even gotten a reply from them.

I was trying to save some money over the Samsung M.2. From the beginning install was a pain, had to do fresh windows install but no biggie as long as it works right? Well, I got the blue screen of death from time to time after installing this drive on my Lenovo P51 laptop but since it only did it every few days I just put up with the hard restart. I Googled the causes of the blue screen of death for this M.2 and found I was not alone and I tried the few workarounds that were out there. My luck if you want to call it that was the drive just died three days before the 30-day return window so I didn't have to do the warranty process I simply took it out and drove it down to the UPS store for a quick and simply Amazon return process. I've since ordered the more expensive Samsung M.2 but I have always had good luck with them in the past so I'm expecting the same this time around. So all in all yes this wrote fast and the benchmarks are good but when it dies on you no benchmark in the world will mean anything. We shall see if they reach out to me based on this review to at least hear my experience, I doubt it but I'll up day my review if they do.

Moving to this from a 256GB Evo was like night and day. And that's saying something, because the Evo was the fastest drive I've ever had in a system when I installed it 3 years ago.

Having 2TB (1.8TB usable) available at the speeds this drive provides makes everything zoom.

The Evo was PCIe 2, this is PCIe 3. I didn't think I would notice anything with as fast as the old drive is, but the system definitely feels snappier.

Couple that with eliminating one of my bulk storage spinning disks and it's a winning combination all around.

I needed a bunch of storage for a workstation, cheap, fast and spacious were my requirements. I've actually been hitting this drive pretty hard. In some cases up to 1 drive write per day or more. One thing I did to ensure more consistent performance was leave ~150GB unformatted. This ensures it always has enough spare empty space for write caching. It's not quite as high performance as my WD SN750 nvme drive but this was unbelievably cheap for 2TB and its lightyears ahead of a spinning hdd so it's perfect.

Runs cool on aorus master x570 board, and blazing speeds. Went with the (XPG SX8200 Pro 2TB 3D NAND) since my wife didn't want to have to worry about a secondary drive any time soon. Transferring files from backup drive while installing programs and updating games all at the same time, wonderful drive performance.

Keep in mind this mobo has heat sinks for the nvme drives. Peal off the plastic strip, replace it with the nvme underneath and little push down to make sure it has contact. So if your drive is running hot then you may need one, or you have a bad nvme. I did get one before on another system where it was randomly not getting detected, just replaced it and was no issues afterward. I know its not a temp issues, but just saying bad drives can happen. New doesn't mean perfect. This is assuming your case has good airflow as well I suppose.

First off, take a picture of the sicker with all the chip serial numbers and what not... you'll need it, I had to tear my laptop apart a few times since I didn't write any of it down.

I tried to use the Acronis software which was JUNK.... had to sign up for multiple user accounts since you first have to register with ADATA to then get a key for Acronis, then register for them to download software that wont (or didnt for me) on a fresh installed machine running Windows 10.

After much frustration, I used Macrium Reflect FREE to clone the drive with ZERO hassle. It did 340gb in 10min40sec from the 512 Toshiba SSD

I bought this as an upgrade to my DELL Machine. While my machine already had an NVME M.2 drive in the machine, I wanted additional NVME M.2 drive with larger capacity, so bought this. I mounted this drive in the machine with the help of PCIe x4 NVME M.2 Adapter card.
The performance on this drive is quite good and got the speed of 3,500 MB/s on using the CrystalMark benchmark. The price on the drive is also excellent. I will update my review later if I find any issues with this device, but overall, I am very comfortable in recommending this to anyone wanting to upgrade their machine with a good NVME M.2 SSD.

Tried to register product. Was unable to do so because they asked for info that was either not available or couldn't be identified from info provided. Tried to get help in resolving this problem only to find them asking for other data that wasn't available. tried 3 of the four support options listed and am unable to register the product as well as get any help. The product seems to be as advertised. Will know when it is installed. Intallation instructions are in the motherboard manual withe the exception of a special device that looks like it should be applied to the SSD itself. There are no instructions from the manufacturer concerning installation.

This is installed in an X570 Aoruis Master with 3900XT. This is a very fast drive at a decent price.

Crystal benchmark run with default settings, no attempt made to optimize performance.

In practice, this drive is super fast. As a point of reference, this same system has a Sabrtent Rocket PCIe 4 1Tb NVME. While it is ~25% faster at some operations, in daily use I cannot tell the difference without benchmarking them back to back. Whether you'll appreciate a marked difference will depend on your use case.

Would buy again, very happy with the XPG (and the Rocket too).

I installed it on dell precision 5540. I didn't have the NVMe usb adaptor to clone it before installation so I directly installed it into the computer. After that, I placed my working old sata ssd drive into a SATA to usb external driver case and booted from external usb. After booted, use EASUS free version to clone external usb drive to internal new drive.

Had one major issue: my new 5540 was not able detect the new NVMe drive. But after I updated the BIOS to the latest, it worked.

Here are the reasons I chose this ADATA ssd: its consumes very little power in IDLE mode than other SSD's. The NVMe controller is from SMI (silicon motion, Taiwan), the flash memory is from Micron. So the components are decent. See more information from Tomshardware. My computer runs very quiet for most of time.

In terms of disk performance, I tested coupled of times, sometimes I was not able to reach the advertised sequential Read number. But the random access is very good, which I care most for my usage model.

I have had this installed and running for over a year now and happened to be logged in writing a review for a different device and thought I would add my thoughts here. I own the both 256gb version and the 2tb of these NVME drives. Both drives exceed the specs they claim on a Asus Prime X470 pro, and I cannot say anything bad about them and I am a very experienced IT and electronic technician and work both these drives hard with daily tasks and also gaming on my off time. HOWEVER, I found out not long after I purchased the 256 that Adata had already "retired" this line even before I purchased it which was about 6 months after they were released to the public and they no longer support any software or firmware updates for these devices. This is not a real serious problem but is simply a case of buyer beware as most people would never need to upgrade firmware in such a device for typical daily use and the only real thing the software does is make a few windows 10 optimization mods which is a one time one click thing upon installation and it has its company's own specific recommended TRIM procedure which differs drastically from the way windows 10 does it natively so it's not a really huge issue here. Would I buy them again? You bet I would. These are good solid PCIE 3.0 gen 4 NVME drives that exceed their specs and are price competitive and after nearly 3 years on the 256gb now neither of them has ever thrown an error or caused an issue. Can't beat it.

This is my first TLC SSD. Wow. I have an Intel 660p QLC drive as my boot drive and this thing runs CIRCLES around it in terms of performance. Literally zero slow down in random writes as I copy a bunch of games from other hard drives. Seriously amazing. Its not going to help with gaming performance, but for an enthusiast like me, I can appreciate the subtle responsiveness when compared to using my other drives. 10/10.

Oh.. and one more thing, the 2TB model has a Terrebyte Drive life of 1280 TB written or something rediculous. AKA you will practically NEVER be able to wear this drive out for those that are worried about that sort of thing.

Not cheap in absolute $$, but huge, fast, good price/size ratio. Boots Win10 easily. Launching Blender take literately a single second from double click to usable. OpenShot less than two seconds. Most games the household gamer plays are up and running in under two seconds, even the ones with a two GB download to install. Plenty of room for additional software, blazing fast storage goodness.

DAMN THIS THING IS FAST!!!!! Only issue was installing windows and booting from windows. I HIGHLY recommend this product. If installing windows on this be sure to UNPLUG all other hard drives attached to your current computer. If you don’t unplug all the other hard drives then an issue will come up. Once it’s running windows and you’ve updated a few drives and all that fun stuff you can plug in your other drives no problem. Just make sure they are plugged in the right sata. 1-4 were the only ones that worked after. If I plugged it into the 5/6 slot then they won’t work. That’s all based on your motherboard, so different board will work differently

My use case was using 6 of the XPG SX8200 Pro 2TB 3D NAND NVMe Gen3x4 PCIe M.2 2280 Solid State Drives in an AMFELTEC PCI Express Gen 3 Carrier Board for six M.2 or NGSFF (NF1) PCIe SSD modules installed in a Razer Core X Chroma Thunderbolt 3 eGPU enclosure. Operating platform: Apple Mac Mini (purchased 2020) running MacOS Catalina v10.15.7. No matter what I tried, the SSDs showed up in DISK UTILITY as 1/2 the capacity could not be partitioned or formatted for Apple file systems. I tried to isolate where the problem was and ruled out the eGPU chassis and the AMFELTEC board as they worked with other PCIe cards. Note: I tried another external cheap enclosure to deduce that the issue was between how the ALFELTEC card saw the 2TB SSD and opened a ticket with AMFELTEC in Ontario, Canada via RMA. Bottom line: ALFELTEC engineering found the source of the problem with the ADATA SSDs. They are shipping my 6 slot SSD card back and my test 2TB SSD back to me for testing in my setup.

AMFELTEC Feedback:
Found the ISSUE with the XPG ADATA 2TB SSDs and their board:
"We found the source of the issue that you have.
The issue is related to the module "not connected pins" that ADATA is using for module testing.
We adjust logic on the board to support your ADATA modules."

Since the host card manufacturer tested and updated the supporting board logic, I have a shot at getting this 12TB SSD RAID working once I get the parts back from Canada. Hats off to AMFELTEC for issuing an RMA, prepaying the FEDEX AIR, resolving the problem with XPG ADATA SSD, and returning the parts back to me. They exceeded my expectations for sales and engineering support for a problem that was outside their direct product line. Since they support all SSDs, they made it work by accomodating ADATA weird module testing logic state that they leave their products in when consumers buy the products. I will know for sure when my parts return but I am feeling better about my purchase of AMFELTEC products and their willingness to support ALL SSDs.

I built my gaming pc a while ago and went for a decent though small 256gb SSD from WD. (A really good drive btw I highly recommend it), Recently I've been struggling with making sure it's not full. I decided I'd splurge a bit and get a 2tb SSD. The SSD I was aiming for was the Samsung one (mostly due to Samsungs' reputation). But at 279.99 I couldn't bite the bullet when this exists. This drives completely blows that Samsung SSD by a mile due to its use of the NVME PCIe standard. Despite having multiple tabs open in chrome and having it as my OS and other apps in the background. This thing still managed to hit 3.5k reads and 3k writes. Should you get this though? After hooking this up and using it for the past few days I'm not noticeable over my old WD SSD in most cases. Games don't load any faster, nor does windows feel any faster. The only place where I did see a difference was when I used this as my scratch disk for Photoshop. The reason I went for this was the fact that it was: one cheaper than the Samsung one and two the fact that it's only at most 50 dollars more expensive than SATA SSD competitors. If all you do is gaming, it's probably a better bang for your buck to get a normal SATA SSD (like the western digital one I had), but if you're like me and you game, edit stuff in photoshop, and well an enthusiasts then I'd take this. Even over other NVME SSDs (unless they're MLC).

I have an older mobo with only a PCIe2.0 2x NVMe slot. With PCIe 8b/10b encoding scheme this gives a max actual rate of about 800MBs - which is only 25% of what PCIe3.0 4x can do.
That being said, I think it's as fast as it can be.
My 4 SATA3 SSDs that are pooled together with Win10 StorageSpaces are typically faster as seen in the screenshot.

Maybe the slower PCIe slot also impacts 4k random reads/writes, I did not expect that and thought this drive would be significantly faster than the StoragePool in all test. But in reality the storage pool is faster.

Было дело пропадал из системы при установке больших игр. Лечилось выключением и включением ПК. Хотел уже нести по гарантии. По итогу поменял диски местами, у меня два м² слота на мат. плате. Как итог все работает ок и по сей день. За это звезду снимаю. А так норм, и температуры под радиатором 40 градусов не больше. Без радиатора в районе 50ти.

+ Добротная связка контроллер+память хорошего среднего уровня.
Контроллер всегда SMI 2262 — (но правда во всех 3х вариантах — 2262 — базовый, 2262ENG — старший, и 2262G — самый слабый.) Всегда есть Dram буфер (причём может быть так DDR3 так и 4). Память всегда TLC.
- Невероятно большой разброс в используемой флеш-памяти. От 96 слойной Hynix с 256Gbit ядрами — дающей нормальную скорость накопителям начиная с 512 гигабайт, до множества других производителей с уже 512Gbit ядрами, и нормальной скоростью только у накопителей ёмкостью от 1 терабайта. Последний купленный экземпляр базировался на достаточно прогрессивной 128 слойной 3d nand Hynix 6го поколения в 512Gbit исполнении — для двух терабайтника — это 32 кристалла и значит четырёхкратное чередование для восьмиканального контроллера. Соответственно вопросов к производительности вроде как нет. По алгоритмам сборки мусора, переноса данных из SLC режима в TLC и выполнения команды TRIM — есть определённые вопросы, поскольку эти действия накопитель выполняет с огромным лагом, достигающим 20-30 минут, для обеспечения максимальных результатов в бенчмарках тестирующих данных которые накопитель хранит изначально в SLC режиме.

В целом, очень интересный накопитель, в ёмкостях от 1Tb могущий применяться как униварсальный — системно\программный\игровой накопитель. Что приятно на актуальные версии Windows — 7, 8.1, 10 — есть официальные драйвера NVME от Silicon Motion.

+ Хороший заявленный TBW, который, я надеюсь, удастся в пару-тройку раз превысить. Но до этого еще много лет.
- - Стандартный радиатор носит чисто декоративный характер. Если на примете есть что-то получше, с ребрами, подсветкой, еще чем — не спешите наклеивать тот что в комплекте, отклеить уже не выйдет, разве что оторвать вместе с чипом.

Покупаю уже второй диск этой модели (теперь оба работают в тандеме) и не перестаю дивиться быстром чтению/записи. Видимо значительно влияет форм-фактор и подключение напрямую в мамку.

Большой ресурс и гарантия 5 лет.
- Средняя скорость чтения/записи.
Слабенький радиатор идущий в комплекте. Для стационарного ПК лучше приобрести отдельно радиатор для SSD.

По показателю цена/качество это отличный вариант, я бы даже сказал лучший... Но если нужна скорость работы выше, то на рынке есть варианты в 1.5/2 раза дороже.

Приобрел в июне 2022 г. за 23500 руб. для стационарного компа. Попалась версия с контроллером SM2262G (см. фото). Спустя две недели исправной работы накопитель вдруг "отвалился" при копировании файлов. После перезагрузки обнаружился системой как неформатированный. Повторная перезагрузка, - и всё нормализовалось, все файлы на месте.

Тем не менее, S.M.A.R.T. атрибуты зафиксировали ошибки целостности данных. Ещё через несколько дней сюрпризом выскочил BSOD, и SSD вообще перестал опознаваться.

Отвёз в сервисный центр, проверили на месте, оформили возврат...

+ Низкая цена, по сравнению с конкурентами
- Быстро падает скорость записи. Отвратительная поддержка бренда ADATA и абсолютно нулевая гарантия.

Только факты. Покупался nvme ssd 2tb диск под проф деятельность, под видеомонтаж. С первых минут стало ясно, что заявленая скорость - это просто маркетинг, по факту при передаче большого (реально большого 800+гб) объема данных скорость падает через минуту работы как только у диска заполняется slc кэш и ВСЁ, дальше скорость записи упадет до уровня работы HDD и ничего вы с этим не сделаете. К скорости чтения претензий нет. А теперь начинается самое интересное. Диск покупался новым. Через месяц работы при одном из копирований фалов на диск, тот внезапно выдал ошибку записи, после чего отвалился из системы, что сильно напрягло. Ну бывает подумал я, глюканул. Через неделю ошибку повторилась еще раз. Потом через 2 дня еще раз и еще раз, позже диск перестал переваривать большие...

+ Декоративный радиатор в комплекте, буфер, скорость, объем и цена (150 евро в Германии), надеюсь у нас тоже цена придет к адекватной.
- Размер радиатора в комплекте, и то, что A-Data может заменить контроллер не сообщив об этом, на чуть худшую модификацию!!! Впрочем за этим замечены даже samsung.

На конец 21г. выбор невелик, несмотря на имеющийся m2 pcie4 взял этот, т.к. дешевле...

Про дополнительное охлаждение я заранее подумал прикупив парочку реберных радиаторов. Они снижают температуру существенно, 10 градусов минус, это хороший показатель. В играх накопитель не греется, 45 градусов это стандарт. В простое всего 32. В плане работы все отлично, накопитель шустрый, отзывчивый, проблем с нехваткой места хранения у меня точно нет.

Если долго сидите на HDD то думаю знаете, как долго запускаются современные игры, порой до двух минут дело доходит. После переустановки игры на SSD разницу замечаешь невооруженным глазом, время снижается в разы. Радиатор я заводской не клеил, у меня есть другой, его и нацепил. Нагреваться в играх он не успевает, но при желании можно до 70 градусов прогреть и словить легкий тротлинг. Trim как мне кажется не всегда быстро срабатывает, но как он работает я так и не разобрался. С хорошим охлаждением работает неплохо, кроме игр его нигде не напрягал.

- Установлен на материнской плате ASUS ROG STRIX B350-I GAMIN в слоте под платой. Сразу после установки Adata ssd toolbox показала что на еще мною не использаванный диск уже было записанно 4.7тб и уже 2% износа.

Диск установлен в слот м2 который не поддерживает sata а только PCI-E 2.0х4 предоставленные чипсетом. Весь изврат из за имеющегося уже samsung 860 EVO m2 sata на 1 тб, который установлен в первый слот м2 с поддержкой как sata так и PCI-E 3.0х4.Из за ограничений используемого интерфейса скорость записи и чтения в районе 1500 мб.с. Тут все ожидаемо. Но смарт...

- Лучше использовать радиатор не из комплекта, а что-то более эффективное.

Поскольку мне надоедали статтеры в играх во время игры с HDD, перешёл на современные рельсы, то есть купил этот накопитель. Загрузка игр стала быстрее это естественно, зато статтеры ушли в играх с открытым миром. Подключил во второй слот М2, что под видеокартой, там и греется меньше, и общий продув системы помогает.

Радиатор сразу установил свой, с ребрами и большей толщины, нагрузка на накопитель постоянная, игры, программы, виртуальные машины, отвод тепла нужен хороший. Перед работой нужно самому форматировать в нужную вам файловую систему и провести разметку MBR или GPT. В обычном режиме нагрев до 31 градуса у меня, при нагрузке до 60 градусов. Максимальная скорость чтения до 3400 мб/с, запись 2120 мб/с. С 4к блоками справляется очень быстро, тут заслуга контроллера видна отчетливо.

Поставил в ноут DELL XPS 9560(биос 1.20.0) на свой страх и риск, так как сервис только EVO туда ставит и не более 1 TB. Определился биосом сразу. Немного...

- Ну разве что нагревается при активной и долговременной нагрузке.

Производители не врали, скоростные показатели чтения и записи выше трёх тысяч мб/с и это не может не радовать. Пару месяцев уже пользуюсь им, всё летает, в играх зависонов нет, в браузере с десятками вкладок тоже нет.
