Good Text sharpness with 4:4:4 Chroma and IPS panel (way better compared to VA panels)
Good/Decent Overall picture quality and sharpness thanks to 3440X1440 Resolution, especially if you will increase everything with Windows Scaling to 125 or 150%
Good Looks and decent build quality for price
Unexpectedly Good Built in Speakers
Fast Response time and 75 hz are Noticeable pluses too
Height Adjustment
Two HDMI ports and one Displayport
Averages :
Stand Does not have Swiwel but more important Height Adjustment is here so we cant blame too much monitor for this.
Menu buttons might be in bad and uncomfortable position for some people (they are on back side of monitor) but for me they are good because i have little child in house so he cant reach them easily :)
Bads :
Viewing Angles.... ok that was little unexpected for me because i expected Better result with IPS panel but in Reality Viewing Angles are just "acceptable" on this monitor which is Translated to bad for a IPS panel...
Overall : For Price of 350 - 400$ this is really Good Monitor Because most of 34" WQHD monitors are on VA panels and trust me you dont need better Contrast of VA monitor if you cant read Text on it because VA panels have Serious problems with Text Sharpness.... all in all if you are expecting Uncompromised Monitor you might be dissapointed BUT if you have reasonable Expectations, for This price it is really Decent. if you need something Noticeably Better you have to pay 650+ USD
To eliminate screen door effect: From your computer, change the Screen Refresh Rate to 60Hz from the default 75Hz and that should get rid of the screen door effect. I guess this monitor was built for native 60Hz but some engineering trickery to boost it to 75Hz caused some pixel refresh problems that produce the screen door effect. The effect is most noticeable for light blue colours (R:~100, G:~100, B:255) where it produced vertical (but not horizontal) screen door 'lines' which led me to suspect it was caused by pixel refresh issues. I was using HDMI so it remains to be seen whether the screen door effect happens at 75Hz with DP.
In addition to the above, here are the OSD settings I used:
Brightness: 100
Contrast: 70
Black Boost: 0
Blue Light, ACM, Super Sharpness: Off
Gamma: 2.2
Color Temp.: Normal
Over Drive, VRB, Refresh Rate Num: Off
Free Sync: On
Black Boost really just makes black colour less dark so who thought it was a good idea to design that in?
Blue Light distorts the picture colour and Super Sharpness introduces artifacts.
All in all, after correcting for the mis-calibration out of the box, this monitor is a good value for gaming, work and some graphics and video editing. For this price (~$150) I'd consider it a good deal.
I do assume this one would have been a good gaming monitor however. Just not what I needed.
Fundamentally, it was not smart to make a 1080p monitor this large. Even at optimal settings it looks blurry and hurts your eyes. Unless you have some really weird sized computer, I don't see how this monitor would ever look good. Do not purchase. I wish I could return it but I bought it right before quarantine and was therefore not able to actually open until just recently, after the return window had passed.
This display produces beautiful and accurate colors once you turn down the brightness significantly, which I set to 30. The contrast is good but nothing to write home about.
I use this primarily for gaming, so the first thing I did was enable GSync from nvidia control panel, and set a framerate limiter of 72 using rivatuner (3 less than the 75hz refresh rate of the monitor, as is recommended). And I am really impressed, motion is fluid and responsive like I've never seen before as I'm coming from a 60hz TN panel, significantly better than just Vsync on that. Works perfectly on every game I've tried on it, including Far Cry 5, GTA, Modern Warfare, The Witcher 3, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, FIFA etc. I would have gone for a 144hz display but given the capabilities of my 1070ti for the games I play, 75hz seemed like the sweet spot for me. Highly recommended
Original review* DOA. Worked for 10 mins or so, then simply turned off while I was tweaking picture settings on its OSD. Tried swapping the power cable, flipped the switch and waited a few seconds but nothing, no power indicator light at all.
I feel like giving this model another shot, will update once received.*
Tried the monitor with multiple computers, and multiple connection types and without fail within 2 or 3 times of use there would be green flickering pixels all over the screen and the only fix was to physically unplug power from the monitor. Will be returning this asap.
Limited to 60hz HDR or 75hz no hdr over DP as hardware is 1.2 not 1.4. tested with Titan XP and 1.4 cable (confirmed working with Asus PG35vq @ 3440x1440 200hz).
Have to manually enable hdr through the motions OSD. HDR is very washed out, one of the worst I have seen.
Very poor viewing angles unless 4+ ft away, standard desk is 2-3ft deep.
Would work as a office monitor but nothing else.
and this was to be her main screen, it is nice.
Unfortunately it did not work for her as desired, I was unable to setup her dual screens due to this screen not fitting onto the arm mount. The mounting point for this screen is recessed and the arm mount did not fit into it. I was unable to find an adapter plate.
But I got a new main screen!
This is my set up with an old LG flatron W1952TQ (a great screen).
I love how easy it was to set up, and how easy it is to move the monitor (the base swivels).
My only down side is that the speaker isn't as loud as my old pc, but that had a mounted, front facing bar. Otherwise, I have zero complaints. Playing games on this is sooo much nicer.
SIDE NOTE: If you are buying this for a PC and running Windows 10, once you hook it up hit the Windows Key + P, and it will open up the display settings. You can decide if you want to duplicate your screen, extend it (so you can do separate things on each display), or use just one display at a time. Hope this helps.
I read a lot of reviews and I couldn’t seem to find that kind of information. So I’m putting it in here.
