This Zeiss glass is lovely. I have seen comparisons ad nauseum considering softness here or there, or the over sharpness of the bokeh etc etc etc.
What is lost in all of this is that premium lens manufacturers such as Zeiss have decades of experience in producing lenses that give up sharpness and micro detail here or there on purpose for they are designed with what I call "painting" in mind. They are produced for their signature "look." This is obviously quite subjective. You like the look or you don't.
As far as bokeh is concerned, I've found that background selection is a major part of OOF smoothness no matter what lens one is using.
This Zeiss Touit is so nice that I am buying one for a Fujifilm X E2 that I have ordered.
I will not give up my D700, but mirrorless cameras have come far enough to strike my fancy. And the Zeiss Touit is a worthy companion and worth every penny.

The AF slowness is not that bad actually, its still good enough to focus (continuous or single) on my kids as they play around.
As far as sony e-mount is concerned, I think its hands down the best APS-C fast prime lens for that mount.

Initial impression - Zeiss, 100% Zeiss. Mechanically - perfect finish, nice touch, solid piece of machinery. Includes hand signed QC sheet. Comes with oversize hood (not a match for 135/1.8 hood but looks impressive anyway).
After mounting on camera and attempting manual focusing, I do 99.99% shoots with manual focus, I sensed strange feeling. Which can be compared to assault's rifle recoil. It's focusing by wire! You turn a ring, camera senses it and activates DC motor. Lens is heavy, so motor must be powerful and it is, as result I am feeling how it moves optical groups. Very weird sense but I can live with it, I am perfectly OK with Sigma's rattling when camera is off, btw Sigma is silent, just plain silent, it is as well focus-by-wire but SILENT!
Image quality - I do not understand other reviews admiring optical qualities of Touit. May be this people never saw that Sigma 30/2.8 can deliver on NEX-7, whatever. For my unscientific eyes, Touit is simply soft till f/3.5, only after it became rather sharp but I want it to be sharp at f/1.8 like Sonnar ZA is super sharp at f/1.8. No need to step down (in Touit case quite a few steps down). I know sharpness is not main thing in photography but I can not use things which do not perform.
So, bottom line - very soft till f/3.5, compare to Sigma 30/2.8. DC focusing motor - simple disappointing, I wish Zeiss just made it manual focus only lens. I would strongly recommend think twice before investing money into Touit. I sent it back.
PS Bokeh - typical zeiss, nice, smooth, I miss it a lot.

When I bought sony a6000 lens became like very different in a good way. A6000 has an option to disable prefocus to eliminate focus hunting. Autofocus speed improved substantially. The lens can easily resolve the details with Increased resolution sensor.
I tried Sony FE55mm/f1.8. In my opinion touit 32 is much better on a6000. Minimum focusing distance on 55mm is too long. I also prefer colors of touit.
All in all the best standard lens for cropped sensor cameras.

So, making this review quick and concise: what does this lens do well on a NEX-7?
-Extremely high cross-frame sharpness
-Negligible chromatic aberrations, both in- and out-of-focus
-Stellar build quality
-Smooth bokeh up close
-Superb rubberized focus ring (it's fly-by-wire focusing though)
What holds the Touit 32mm back
-Bokeh gets a little busy as focus distance increases
-Multiple flare reflections
-Noticeable barrel distortion for a prime lens
-Expensive at $900
This lens can be a tough one to recommend to just anyone with a NEX (or Fuji camera, for that matter) considering its price. Compared to its most obvious competition, the Sony 35mm f/1.8 OSS at half the price, the Zeiss doesn't present a very high value. In some ways, like distortion and bokeh, the Sony actually performs better. In terms of pure photographic potential, the Zeiss is superior. But for anyone who wants to go handheld at night, or record handheld video often, the optical stabilization in the Sony makes it a marginally better lens. Both the Sony 35mm and Zeiss 32mm are great lenses, with different attributes to each.
