Been playing electric for a decade, wanted to try out a nylon for some time but didn't want to approach what I've spent on my electric setup. Totally worth it. Sounds really good for $120. Good quality too. I bought it with an eye to my daughters future, so when she gets a little older she can learn on the smaller size while I play along with my full size Alvarez. Really easy action, and to all you people who say it doesn't stay in tune, thus is the nature of nylon strings. And honestly it only ever goes slightly flat after hours of play. Sounds good in alt tunings, I've taken it to drop C tuning and it sounds just as good as E standard and everything in between.

Sounds is lovely, and my son's guitar teacher praised the brand: "Everything Yamaha makes is great." It's pretty easy to tune, and once the nylon strings finish stretching it stays in tune pretty well. Nylon is MUCH easier on little fingers and the guitar is less loud than steel strings. I got one of these for a 7 year old and one for a 9 year old, both big for their age - apparently when starting out it is better to err on the side of small with the guitar.

This is a very nice little instrument. It strikes a perfect balance between quality and economy. I have owned may guitars and some much more expensive than this one do not stay in tune as reliably. The size is just right for my 9 year old to learn on and it is a real instrument rather than a toy, so a great guitar to begin learning on. Service was fast and though I routed it to an old address, the seller was willing to send a note to that address advising them of the mis-shipment. Good customer service even though the error was mine.

Really enjoy this guitar. We bought for my seven year old and she absolutely loves it. It is the perfect size, sounds beautiful, and well made.

It's a beautiful guitar. For the price, it's a good buy! Last I played the guitar was 50 years ago. This one is just right for me.
Of note, the edge of the frets is a bit rough (smooth it out a bit more) and fifth string goes out of tune every 5 or so songs.. but these are minor issues. Overall a 5 star half guitar!!

This guitar sounds amazing for being so small! Its so much easier to teach a child to love playing the guitar when the sound is just as pretty as my full sized one. The sound is very loud, full and clear and its the perfect size for an 8 year old. This would also work great as a traveling guitar for camping trips and such for an adult.

It hasn’t been long but I’m surprised with how good this little guy sounds. Bought it for my niece and nephew to share and couldn’t help but play around a bit. It sounds great, totally surprised

We bought this for my youngest that says he wants to be a rock star and he needed a guitar for his lessons. This has a great sound and looks great. Very satisfied!

This guitar appeared to be made as well or better than many of the other 1/2 size guitars we looked at for our young son to play. We ended up choosing a different brand than this model due to the neck being wider at the nut on this guitar, which was more difficult for him to play than some of the other guitars we tried. That being said, for larger hands I would have picked this one - as I had no issues playing this guitar and I do with the smaller neck on the model we eventually bought for my son.

My daughter is taking guitar lessons. She is 7. This guitar is great for her because the nylon strings are easier on her fingertips and it is a good size for her to learn on as well.

This is an excellent little guitar for children or small adults even. It holds a tune well and has a nice sound. It's almost exactly the size of a little Martin or baby Taylor guitar.

I bought this guitar for my 4 and 7 year old daughters. It is very well made and plays well. The half size is perfect.
