The item arrived really quickly (next day evening). It needed charging first with the included charging cable. Once charged, I paired it with an iPhone and ran through the basic config and updates.
I've tried it with a few different activities but it seems to be very hit and miss. The step counter misses about one in three steps. The cycling tracker reports far fewer calories burned than when I borrowed an Apple Watch and running is also off.
Comfort-wise, it's small and light, it stays on the wrist and can be fastened on easily. No issues there. The problem is that they recommend it to be quite tight around the wrist for best tracking, but as a result you're more likely to stifle blood-flow and potentially injure your wrist whilst working out. If you have it too loose then you'll lose more accuracy than what I already described above.
It's very cheap, it does the job and for me it serves the purpose in showing roughly how much exercise I've done and I guess if it's consistently wrong I'll still see my progress so I won't be sending it back.
Great for casuals like myself as well, but I think anything taking their health tracking more seriously will 'skip' this one and invest in something more reliable.
So, the health measurements seemed accurate. Heart rate was comparable, if lower than a fitbit. Steps worked well, and sleep tracking was good too. Compared to a Fitbit HR3 then;- sleep tracking had less detail and wasn't as accurate; heart rate tracking seemed more accurate and believable.
The app experience overall was poor though. When it started as the MiFit app it was good, but when it updated to the ZeppLife version it started asking for permissions I didn't want it to have and were not relevant to the way I was using it. So although it worked it kept repeatedly asking for these permissions, so annoying. Hence my middle of the road score, and why I'm reverting to my Fitbit instead if this item.
The screen looks good but is nearly impossible to view on bright sunlight. The band is responsive enough, don't expect lightning quick swipes.
The band itself is lightweight and not too annoying to wear while sleeping/chilling. Every other smart watch I own I couldn't wait to get it off my wrist after coming home and would never sleep while wearing. This one I can tolerate.
The battery life is great and it charges quickly. I usually give it a top up each day while I shower.
The Mi fit app isn't great, fortunately I can sync with Google fit. The PAI score seems completely redundant and its suggestions don't seem to match with the score it gives you. It suggested for me to run for 24 minutes. I ran 10km and it didn't meet the PAI target.
Even with the negatives I still recommend the Mi Band 6. It's a relatively inexpensive band with a great feature set.
One week battery (tick)
Phone notification display (tick)
Music control for wireless headphones (tick)
Reminds me every hour to take a break (tick)
Sleep tracking (tick) ... even notices my sneaky afternoon naps.
... and the wealth of information from the App!!!!! (how much was this again!!!)
Good range with my phone and connects easily as the app runs on my phone in the background.
Exercise tracking shows a little path on the screen of where you went. There are loads more exercise tracking settings than previous models, like rowing.
Battery lasts about a week in my case, but i have an animated watch face and all vibration settings on.
UPDATE - 28/1/22: I'm now experiencing the bluetooth pairing problem again within a month of using the replacement. Although I'm eventually able to re-pair the band with my phone, it entails deleting the app from my phone and reinstalling it every time. I don't lose any data in doing this, but this shouldn't be happening and I'll probably be requesting a refund next time it happens. I can't be unlucky twice can I?
Great build quality, amazing screen quality and more feature than you need. Hard to tell with the accuracy but all fitness watches are like that in my opinion. No watch can really tell you how many kcals you burn in a workout but you'll be able to tell if you did more exercise today than yesterday.
Sports-
Mainly use mine when playing badminton and it seems to pickup my level of fitness very well, over the last few months i have got fitter and the stats on the mi band seem to reflect that.
Sleep-
Used to have a mi band 2 which picked up my sleep patterns perfectly and knew when i woke up in the night etc. The mi band 6 is no different, knows within a minute or so when i wake up in the night and is great for a silent alarm, vibrating on your wrist is a better way to wake up that the annoying old alarm clock or phone alarm!
App-
Had the app for many years with the Mi band 2 i had. I find the app is a little more complex than i used to be but still fairly easy to use. Settings are very easy to configure and customisation on the mi band 6 is great. Very simple to change the display and order of features etc to suit how you want to use the watch.
Delivery was in great time.
Well done Xiaomi 👍
Don't use this for sleep tracking, because it's completely inaccurate, maybe better than other products in the price range.
step tracking is very good, on par with apple watch and galaxy watch.
Heart rate detection is good enough when you sitting on chair and not moving around.
heart rate acceleration chart during workout is hit or miss, most of time is accurate but sometimes loses tracking, I think you have to wear it tighter for more accurate reading(which becomes uncomfortable).
Other activities are for fun experimental experience, do not take it as a sport watch, it's a fun little gadget to have.
One thing I have to say to clear up things is app confusion, you have 2 official apps available to sync with but none of them are perfect. And normally you can't sync with both at same time, well you can but it's very tricky to set up, but I digress. Basically:
Mi fit: feature rich, slightly messy user interface, this is what you need.
Xiaomi wear: lacking features but works with other Xiaomi eco-system apps.
you can change watch face to your custom pic, so be creative :)
magnetic charging cable is very neat, easy to use, just don't lose it.
The watch is fine but I would never choose it again.
Абсолютно рекомендуется.
Оно должно быть водонепроницаемым, но сегодня я плавал в бассейне, и теперь группа выигралане включается, это произошло очень быстро, когда экран стал белым, затем выключился, с тех пор ничего.
