Great price for speed and size. I've owned other fast 10k drives these are much faster. They are even faster then my first two SSDs I have them set up on a pci perc card on Raid 0. I find that Lightroom running on a pci ssd with catalogs running on these drives are almost twice as fast as a 1tb black 7200 WD.

Velociraptor is still a very good choice for good amount of space, very faster data transfer and also a good price if compare with SSD devices. In fact I have in my system a SSD 128G for operation system and velociraptor for data. I am very satisfied with the price x performance of this device.

I am overall pleased with the drive. However, I did not see as much overall system performance increase as I had hoped. Still, a great drive at a great price.

10,000 RPM HDD ADDS TREMENDOUS SPEED. HOWEVER I HAVE HAD FAILURES ON SOME COPIES AND HAD SAME ISSUE ON 3 OF THE SAME DRIVES ON VARIOUS COMPUTERS.

It is the cheapest (about $100) fastest (10,000 RPM; SATA 3) drive available. It has a 5 year warranty. It is mostly heat-sink, as the working part is a 2.5 inch drive. This configuration protects it from static a little extra, as the circuit board is not exposed at all. I uses them in pairs (mirrored) or quads (raid10) as raid main drives. With Intel ICH9R, have used on Fedora Linux 17, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008r2 with no difficulty whatsoever.

This hard drive is super fast not as a SSD but it is better than any hard drive out there with 7200 rpm. The only thing that I didnt like is that it didnt come with the screws to properly mount it in my PC and the manuals.Overall it was a great purchase. The drive is not noisy and you can barely hear it.

really nice drive even cooler than my older drives and less noise. people say the reverse about the velociraptor they say they overheat and make too much noise bah this is a good hard drive.

WD Velociraptor WD1000DHTZ 1TB 3.5" SATA Hard Drive looks great and may be because I'm using the new processor is not working , I had to get ssd drive in order to make the system work.

I purchased this drive. I installed it, it the BIOS found it with no problem and was able to load Windows 7 on the computers.So far, so good with it.

I very happy with the drive. I installed Windows 7 64-bit without any problems. I noticed Windows 7 starts very quickly with this drive. The drive is a 2.5 drive in a 3.5" integrated case. The drive is very quiet. So far I'd recommend this drive to anyone willing to pay the price. I know you can buy a 1 TB hard drive for a lot less, but if you want fast this is it.WD Velociraptor WD1000DHTZ 1TB 3.5" SATA Hard Drive

This hdd runs fast and runs amazingly cool. Much cooler than any previous "Raptor" type of drive. It is really quite a drive, but I doubt that many people will want to pay this much. Mine also runs very quietly. Great drive!

The Velociraptor is really fast, and with the 1TB storage capacity it allows me to create additional partitions and run virtual machines in them when needed. Good product!
