- - Среднее время доступа выше заявленного в два раза. Скорость чтения ниже в полтора раза.
Винт шел в ноуте HP Pavilion dv6-2090er. Сразу возник конфликт с программой Acronis Disk Director 10. Программа даже при загрузке с загрузочного диска не хотела перебивать диск. Paragon...

With this drive, one screwdriver, about three hours total time (mostly for backup and restore) and a 32GB flash drive I replaced my PS3's 40GB hard drive with this drive. First: get a flash drive big enough to back up your system (to PS3/BACKUP) and also download version 4.31 of the OS from the playstation website (to PS3/UPDATE) to the flash drive. My 32GB flash drive was just barely big enough for this, you might need a 64 for a newer PS3. Unplug everything, take a rag and dust it off and then pry off the panel on the left side. Remove the one blue screw that you see and the old drive slides right out. Remove the four screws holding the old drive to the plate, swap in the new drive, replace those screws, slide it in, put the blue screw back, plug everything in, then follow the screen instructions. The new OS should install within 20 minutes, and however long it takes to restore your backup. In my case I was able to pick up the games I was playing three hours after the time I started including backup and restore time.I have found Western Digital drives to be very reliable in the PCs I've built. I have not given this drive any sort of torture test, but it's the right price and the right size for swapping out a PS3 drive.

This is a fast and reliable replacement drive for laptops that can meet the specs. It carried a 5 year warranty. It has a higher data transfer rate and lower data latency rate than the 5400 rpm drives. I replaced the original drive in a Lenovo T60 laptop that runs XP, without any problems nor requiring change to the bios settings. Note that it does draw more current than most 5400 rpm drives and also has a higher thermal footprint. Verify that your laptop can support the extra electrical and cooling load, if reliability is important. WD has a nice, detailed spec sheet for this drive on its website.

Hello. I ordered this hard drive last month. It failed and is unusable. I tried to return it, but the return window was for only 1 month. They also said if you return it, you are eligible to pay for shipping. Seriously? no shipping label? I'm contacting Amazon corporate. What a complete waste of time and money. I highly recommend buying a hard drive from someone else. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

Upgraded to this from a 5400 rpm hard drive when the old one died. The increases in performance has been great.Something to be aware of though if you are doing a similar upgrade, the higher rpm does come with more power consumption. We put this into a laptop with a 2 year old battery, so we did see battery life go down.

Had 4 hard drives fail in a very short period of time. I needed replacements - these make the most sense for my application. They're small, so be ready with adapters for 3.5 bays if needed, but they're quiet, stable, and have a nice warranty - registration with WD is easy, and their service has really improved over the years.

My wife's 2 year old HP/Compaq Presario CQ56 laptop started giving warning messages about its hard drive. Checking further, it was running out of "relocatable sectors" according to its S.M.A.R.T. system.I cloned it to this drive and it's working very well now. In order to get the cloned system to work, though, I had to "repair" the MBR. I booted from a repair CD and used the command "bootsect.exe /fixmbr" and then it worked.

My older laptop was running slow and having some problems, so I made a few changes including this hard drive which is faster and has more space. I am very pleased with it's performance. It runs exceptionally quiet and with it and doubling the ram memory, my old laptop runs faster than it ever did. I highly recommend this hard drive.

I purchased this drive in June, 2011 to replace a failed hard drive in a college student's laptop. It has worked fine since then with no complaints from the owner. I did not perform any speed testing as low price was more important than maximum speed and this drive has done the job as expected.

I bought the WD 250GB 7200RPM hard drive because the original Toshiba 60GB 5400RPM hard drive in my Dell Inspiron E1505 was running out of room. I am running with Windows XP Media Center, SP3. I also purchased the Acomdata USB 2.0 2.5-Inch SATA Hard Disk Enclosure to perform the disk cloning to the new WD drive.Before performing the disk clone, I made sure the laptop and original hd were in tiptop shape by ensuring it had all the latest windows updates. I tuned her up using "CCleaner", "Auslogics" disk defragger and "MalwareBytes" anti-malware, all which are free to download and use. No sense in copying any problems on the old drive over to the new one.I had previously downloaded and installed Easeus ToDo Backup Home which also is free. I believe this next step is crucial and recommend everyone do this even if you're not changing out drives. I used Easeus to create a bootable recovery CD/DVD and a complete "system image" in case anything went wrong with the disk swap. With free backup software and external hard drives being pretty cheap these days, not having a backup and bootable recovery disk seems foolish.I installed the new WD into the Acomdata enclosure and plugged it into the laptop's USB port. The cloning process was a snap, except for one screw up on my part. After the cloning, I saw I had only 60GB of usable space on the 250GB drive. The rest of the space was unallocated. What I forgot to do was tell Easeus that I wanted to use all the space on the new drive. Right before the cloning process starts, Easeus displays a screen confirming your selections for the cloning. Two horizontal bars are at the bottom of the page. The top bar shows the source drive(s) and space to be cloned. The bottom bar shows the target drive and allocated space. The default shows to clone the original 60GB to the new drive at 60GB. This is where you need to drag the bottom bar all the way to the right to allocate all the space on the new drive. I repeated the cloning process and all is well.The new drive showed a definite performance gain for the laptop. I had scanned my computer before the swap using PC Pitstop's free computer checkup. Before the change I was at the top 47% for the World Portable rank with a disk transfer speed of 23Mb/s. After I was at the top 41% with a transfer speed of 64Mb/s. The disk on its own was in the top 6%, so I was pretty happy with the improvement. I've been running with this disk for about a month with no issues and highly recommend it. A last note is that the Acomdata hd enclosure worked nicely and I recommend it as well.
