I ordered this drive as an internal data back up drive for my system. I like that it is a very quiet drive. It is almost as quiet as my SSD. My read/write speeds aren't near what the max is though (I am lucky to get half of the 145MB/s max), but much better than my USB 2.0 drives and other SATA drive.

Purchased 5 of these for my NAS, all are running smooth and well in a RAID5 set up. Normal running temp looks to be 89-99F, great price for what you get. SATAIII, 2tb and runs perfectly in a NAS, no errors on any of the 5 drives so far and they have been running for a month and a half straight.

I put 2 of these into a ZyXEL NSA325 NAS device and configured as as Raid-1 array. They were easy to install and configure and so far, they seem to perform well. Copying files from my server to the NAS, I was getting sustained transfer rates of around 50 MB/s.

These are a must have if you need reliable storage. They are intended for a RAID or NAS type box, but even as a stand alone drive they are good.I have it connected to a USB 3.0 doc, and these give me a consistent sequential speed of 148MB/s. That's very good for a sub 7200rpm drive.The drive is right next to me, and it's quiet. You would have to put your ear next to it to hear anything.The only problem is that these are on short supply, and I hope WD ramps up the volume.
