So far so good. Works pretty good. Takes a second or so to get reaved up but once it's going, look out. Speedy and stable.

WD usually has one of the best products. But this external hard drive is lacking. It's cheap plastic, prone to breakage and most importantly it doe not work with a number of even high power computers. The power supply comes from the USB but it does not get enough power. SO you have to buy a Y connector and tie up TWO usb ports. Then you have to try to get the Y connector. I couldn't find one except from WD which was out of stock. Not what I expected from WD. I sent mine back.

I have never installed an SATA II drive before. I had to go online to get the instructions, and I had to buy a cable, but after that, the installation was easy and there have been no problems. They really should throw in the cable with the drive.

neat and slick. very unobtrusive on my desk. light weight which is great. Software gets a little getting used to but everthing is automatic at first. the help forum/FAQ on line is very useful. have synced one puter and will try to see how much music i can hold after thet. Am considering another one now for my office.RB.

I am so pleased with this hard drive and the price and ease of use - just plug and play. Looks very nice, but no case comes with it, and it's a good idea to buy or make a case for it. Glossy surface might easily get scratched.
