I buy a lot of hard drives, and Western Digtal is a great brand. They seem to last longer then the other brands.

Needed a simple cheap hard drive for my build so I got this one and it works great. I have got to say though with windows 8 you have a very short boot time with or without an ssd.

I was looking at the 1 TB Black drive, but most reviews said it was freaking loud, So I grabbed this instead.It is quiet and fast on burst speed and average read speed wise. It's pretty close to my new VelociRaptor in average read speeds according to HD Tach.And so long as it doesn't just randomly die on me in the near future, I will say it was totally worth it.

I went with Amazon.com based on reviews that they now cushion the hard drive box with special packaging, and free super saving method of shipping being the most gentle, even though Amazon's price is higher. Who cares about price if something delicate is ruined in shipping? In any case this hard drive is running quiet and perfect with no problems this long, means there should not have been any mechanical damage done to it while in Amazon.com (Amazon.com and not an affiliate) hands, and it was treated with the extreme care such very delicate devices require. Unlike some things throwing these against a wall - type of damage with insufficient CUSHIONING won't be good. Since I am more concerned with reliability than speed, is the reason I chose this model at the time. After Partitioning and formatting, this is the main drive of a newly built i5-2500K 16GByte Computer, and it was all I could afford until I can afford to get the operating system running on a Solid State, but whatever the load time for Windows 7 is is OK for me.I am so happy Amazon.com fixed their "Hard Drive Problem" - the right way by shipping them properly (little plastic inserts) for the electro-mechanical devices they are. Be sure to pick the most gently-handled (non-throwing) shipping method too in my opinion. Bottom Line is I'm happy.

The hard drive is a direct replacement for a faulty drive that was in a HP computer. It is a better drive than the one it replaced as it is faster and more reliable.

Much better drive then that found in the OTS system my buddy had, I bought this to complete his upgrades to his OTS system. He used to call quite often with problems he has not called with one issue since the upgrades had been preformed.

helped a friend out with this , he started out with only 150 Gb of HDD space, very poor when your someone who likes music and gaming...., now to get him a new tower and video card......

I bought this HDD to replace an existing drive that was getting too small. Within a couple months I was getting SMART notifications that the drive was bad and should be replaced asap. And naturally, that's past the return window for Amazon.Disappointed

This drive failed yesterday with the click of death. Worked fine up until it didn't. WD will send a replacement since it is still under the 3 year warranty. But any new drive that fails after 14 months, especially a desktop drive like this one, gets at best 1 star.

This is my third WD drive in the last few years, and it just started giving my computer the fits until I unplugged it. No more WD drive for me. Usually drives last me about four years, but I can't seem to get two from WD. They seem to work fine until one day my computer takes issue with them booting up. I only use them for storage instead of running programs from them now, and even that is too risky.If you have one, use it for storage in an external case so you turn the thing off to get more life from it. (Hopefully that is.)

I wanted a portable hard drive but received this instead. There is nothing wrong with the productbut not what I was expecting. I returned it for a refund.

My computer crashed after three days, but in all fairness, I suspect that other factors caused the crash. I thrashed the whole mess and bought a new computer.UPDATE: Installed this drive on a new computer to use as a backup HD...it is working fine, so there was on problem with this product.

Bought one of these to add to a security system for additional recording capacity. Works great and is quite. I have had good success with Western Digital hard drives through the years.

Needed a semi-cheap hard drive for a sort of tight gaming budget and this fit for the amount of space I was receiving. I have no complaints about this hard drive, just looking to get an SSD as well. Good buy.

I have bought hundreds of hard disks. Many other brands fail quickly especially in my hot and dusty environment. Western Digitals just seem to last and work well. I buy the blues for the price, and for the price it is absolutely the best, however when price is not an issue I buy the black.

Can't complain about the price. Installed with no problems, software loaded fine and appears to be working great. I will let you know if I have any problems, but so far so good.
