Drive with good features and performance, large storage capacity and very fast, recommended for people who have great information for supporting catid, or engaged in the graphic design and digital media editing.

The WD Caviar Green 1 TB worked well at first, but suffered mechanical failure too soon. I found the longevity with the Caviar Green hard drive not great. WD was helpful in replacing the hard drive.

Added this hard drive to my Probox external case and it worked perfect. Formatted and is functioning as advertised. Shipping was fast and well packaged.I will be adding another one shortly

I bought this drive after having 2 Seagate drives go out on me. This one works great even on the 6G/bsec controller. Thanks also to Acronis for their excellent backup software that allowed me to copy my "stuff" right over from the other, failing, drive I was replacing.

I installed this drive into my HP Desktop a few weeks ago and it's been working like a charm ever since. I don't have enough technical savvy to comment on its performance, I can only say that it worked when I plugged it in, it gives me more storage space, and is pretty much invisible, which is a very good thing.

I'm just trying to do you all a favor. I bought two of these drives 3 months ago and one of them has failed already. I wouldn't purchase one of these again in fear of failure.

I recently purchased one of these and have been very happy with it. It sits along side 3 other in my Synology RS409 and hums along. No issue so far.

When I got this drive, I popped out a smaller one from an enclosure I got online and put in this one. It took about ten minutes. I plugged it in to my iMac, formatted it for a Mac, then backed up my main drive to it, via Super Duper and told Super Duper that I wanted this to be a start up drive as well. A couple hours (more like three it seems) and my new backup drive was good to go. It's been working silently for the last three weeks without a hitch.I really can't think of anything else to say about this drive. It does what it's supposed to do. You can't ask for any more than that.

It is a large hard drive, very good performance and large storage capacity, and very quiet when I install something does not lessen notice beyond capacity, but if you need another hard drive would not hesitate to buy another like this, I love it!

After setting up this drive I received numerous cyclic redundancy check errors even after reformatting it. While performing a SMART test, I received a few hundred SMART errors due to bad blocks.

A 5400 RPM hard drive with SATA3? Isn't that a little overkill? A 7200 RPM barely can reach SATA3 if it can at all, but a 5400 RPM? Give me a break!

I am using this hard drive as a backup drive. Installation was a little tricky because Windows 7 wanted to recognize only 2GB of the 3GB. I had to change to a different filing structure, then everything went well.I have be very pleased with WD drives.

My experience is that I dragged many files to this drive and the speed was okay. Compare this to a smaller hard drive, you would probably think this drive is a bit slower. Overall, worth the money, decent buy.

Western Digital drops a rotten egg.Formats at 801.57 GB. This drive is corrupt from the moment it's installed.My first 3TB Drive was replaced, by this one. Both drives were corrupt and useless. Western Digital recommends running their diagnostic program, that can be download. Ah, no Mac version. I have spent over 20 hours of research, and troubleshooting. Total waste of time.

I purchase this 2tb drive for Video/Musics/Photos storage. Am pleased with it. Not a bad drive for a green drive and reliabilty.
