The monitor came with a very washed off colors, overly bright and very pale. It also came without a power button. I nearly returned it. However, I succeeded in turning it on by inserting a metal stick in where the power button was supposed to be. It was very hard to set the colors to a good temperature, contrast and had to arrange the red, blue and green levels manually. If we disregard the power button, its a great monitor now that the settings are right. I just don't understand why the monitor wouldn't come with the correct settings. Upon arrival, I would have returned it for sure if i hadn't found a review of another customer containing suggested settings for this monitor.

I've owned and worked on dozens of monitors over the past few years, and none (including basic, stock office monitors) have had colors as bad as the ViewSonic Elite. The whites are yellow, and the colors are all washed. I spent a week reading guides on how to fix the colors, but ultimately nothing worked. Tried contacting customer support and nothing was able to resolve.
Not to mentioned that the monitor came with a stuck pixel, but I was able to fix this myself by applying pressure. Will never purchase a ViewSonic monitor again.

Hatte davor einen 4K-Monitor, wollte aber aufgrund der FPS-Einbußen auf einen 144HZ-Monitor umsteigen. Nach Testkauf von 2 anderen Markenmonitoren bin ich dann auf den oben genannten Viewsonic-Monitor gestoßen. Bin bis dato mehr als zufrieden mit dem Gerät - keine FPS-Einbrüche, verpixelte Bilder oder schwummrige Auflösungen.
Kann daher nur Positives darüber sagen und meine für Games mit höherer FPS-Anforderung definitiv eine Kaufempfehlung :)

Ik gebruik dit product, omdat ik half thuis half op werk m, werk. Om thuis goede kwaliteit beeldschermen te hebben. Per slot van rekening heb je maar een paar ogen en daar moet je je hele leven mee doen! Ben er super content mee! En tijdige levering. En bedankt voor de goede zorgen allen die me hielpen. In het bijzonder de vrouw die ik donderdag 18 juni jl. aan dd lijn had rond middernacht! Groet, Silva

The monitor is great and looks great as well! Haven't spotted any dead pixels. Overall the 24 inch monitors are larger than I expected but still works for me.

So I was going to get the XG2402 model and I saw this was just released. Basically RGB and says Elite. This is not Elite by any means. The writing on the monitor is smeared. Also there is backlight bleed on a tn panel... stay far away my friends.

The monitor has great colors. Games very nicely. Slight blurring on UFO test, with bit more blurring with the darker background. I was surprised to see that it is a 10 bit color panel, not sure if true 10 bit or 8 bit + FRC (Edit: NVidia Control Panel only allowed me to set 8 bit color. 10-bit color was in the drop down, but I could not get the setting to apply). No signs of light bleed. Uniformity is ok, not impressive. About average for these large panels.
The only issue I have with it is that blacks are so dark. On black level adjustment at 2.0 gamma, the 1-4 boxes are indiscernible. Going to 1.8 gamma would correct that, but everything appears more washed out. Since my eyes are light sensitive, I keep the panel darker than most I think. Probably not an issue for most.
Freesync seems to work smoother with AMD cards than NVidia at lower frame rates. (Edit 7/18/2019: Thought it didn't work with nvidia cards. But I was confused by the difference gsync and gsync compatible in Nvidia control panel. With freesync monitors, you have to click the checkbox below in the gsync settings to actually get the gsync setting to apply. So user issue. It does work smoother with AMD though.). Like many VA Freesync/Gsync monitors, this one does flicker on some loading screens, or when some dialogs are displayed.
Part of original review: The first monitor showed up with zero dead pixels, then developed one or two over the course of the first 1.5 days of usage. The second monitor had two dead right of the box and the box is a bit damaged. A bit disappointing. ViewSonic support from comments exchanged it for a new monitor, which has zero pixels, and is great. At this point, not sure I would get a monitor again through Amazon. As the box for the second monitor had some damage.
8/20/2019: Starting with driver 436.02, nvidia can now set 10-bit color for this monitor.
10/23/2019: The monitor is excellent for desktop and watching movies. For gaming, too many games flicker on load screens and sometimes during normal game play. The whole screen flickers when moving over some UI elements in a few games. I would not buy the monitor given my gaming experience.

As far as TN Panels go, these are amazing. Had one next to an IPS display and saw mininal difference once configured correctly. I purchased two of them and there was a big variation between both of them. One had a more warm color, the other a more neutral. That may be my graphics card, or the monitors themselves since I have had this happen with my previous 4k IPS displays. The second one I got either got a dead pixel within 30 minutes or it was there and I didn't notice it. Spoke with Amazon, got a replacement, no issues since. I'm not faulting ViewSonic for it though, because it happens when something is mass produced. Overall, if you know the con of TN panels (Somewhat washed out colors) for the trade off (Higher response time) you will be pleasantly surprised with just how good these panels can look.

I’m disappointed this didn’t work out. I own the ViewSonic VP3881 (top) and I absolutely love it for productivity! Naturally when I was searching for a gaming monitor I looked to ViewSonic’s Elite series and I already loved the ultrawide so I figured that this would be a perfect fit for me. For starters the bezels are huge and ugly. Not a big deal and I did see that in the product pictures and thought I could easily deal with this problem. What was a total disaster was that there is about and 5~10 millimeter black screen after the bezel. If this makes sense. So the bezel is not covering the entire dead screen. For over $650 this should not be so. Yea the RGB is cool if you’re into that but in all honesty $650 is steep for the performance you get. My last gripe is that the single button menu mapping is great, I love LG’s interface but ViewSonic’s is terrible and the button functions don’t make sense and it’s a mess. Buyer be ware ViewSonic is a great but for professional grade monitors but as for this particular gaming monitor you can find much better deals.

So after a couple days calibrating it to my liking, I'm surprised how amazing games and movies look on it. G-sync works well and so does HDR (though I leave it off for realistic colors). No dead pixels or lines anywhere on my screen. The speakers are loud and audio is better than expected.
The only bad thing I can point out is the base stand takes half my desk, making the monitor way too close to me. I would recommend getting a vesa mount to save your eyeballs from exploding.

The XG240R is worth every penny, I love this monitor whole heartedly. The picture quality is very good although with that being said I’ve messed with the OSD settings to make it so. The screen quality is nice and smooth, gaming in 144hz with this monitor is so magical I sometimes feel like I’m dreaming, it really is an ethereal experience. The RGB on the back just adds to the experience, very minimalist shaped lights that are customizable via Cooler Master Plus software. The all black design of the monitor mixed with the nice touch of minimalist RGB in the back truly make this specific monitor an aesthetic piece. The ergonomics are fantastic, this thing puts other monitors to shame in terms of flexibility and movement. A con that dissapointed me was the cable holding piece provided, very cheap plastic that’s easy to break when struggling to inplant it - be wary of using force with this item or else it’ll break like mine did. Monitor comes with a manual, RGB quick guide, display port cable, cable holding piece, USB cable for the RGB and screws ready for building. Overall this monitor has surpassed all of my expectations and I’m ecstatic that this was my first monitor to experience the smoothness of 144hz gaming with. Fully endorsed despite the unfortunate cable holding piece, do buy this monitor.

Don't let this monitor fool you, it does not live up to the hype. The 3340x1440p resolution works great, as long as G-Sync compatibility is not enabled. Once you enable it, it drops the refresh rate down to 60Hz. At this size, this monitor looked great in an IDE, decent font size to pixelation ration, however it fell short once I started gaming. There was significant tearing and ghosting with and without GSync enabled, as well as with 100Hz vs 60Hz enabled. I found that there was a more than acceptable drop in frame rate for the size, compared to other resolution configurations. Overall, I love the size, and I love the picture, but I couldn't commit due to the lack of quality in fast moving screens.
There was no noticeable bleed through. The OSD for the menu was very intuitive and easy to navigate.
What I have been looking for:
A >= 100Hz 2K/4K monitor with <3ms response time.
I spend an equal amount of time gaming semi-professionally and coding for work/as a hobby. I constantly switch between FPS's and IDE's
What this monitor provides:
100Hz without Gsync, 60Hz with
3440x1440p resolution
A thick black bezel
Rear panel RGB LED's
System:
i9-9900k
RTX 2080-Ti
