I've read a few people have talked about the type not being clear, I can only conclude that it is either their video card or their eyesight, as I bought 3 of these and they are the clearest monitor I have ever used. I'm running at 1920 by 1080 on all three, and clear as day, on all 3 computers.My only gripe is that the stand they come with is really low to the ground (only sits about 3 inches off the desk), so I will have to do something to raise it up a bit as I find I am getting a kink in my neck from looking down instead of straight ahead. But hey, what can you expect for a 24" monitor for $199! If you want a adjustable stand, you are going to have to pay for it.Beyond that, the monitors have been excellent. No set up required, worked right out of the box. I would highly recommend this monitor.

Shipped monitor back about an hour ago for refund. Attached it to a desktop running Vista using VGA cable. Very impressed with display color, clarity, and usable space. Blew away my 7-8 year old 17" KDS flat CRT display. Popup RESOLUTION NOTICE quickly became annoying. It took a while to use buttons on monitor and disable the popup. Set up the screen to display more spreadsheet than possible with KDS and also another applicaton at same time. After about 10 hours of working with the monitor it made a crackling sound and went dark. The blue light went amber. Resetting the power button caused the blue light to appear for a second or two, then go amber. Replaced the Veiwsonic with the KDS display and all worked well. Attached the Viewsonic to my laptop running XP and had same result. Dark screen with brief popup. Forgot what it said, something to the effect there was no source. Thought it might be a temperature problem due to a tighter fit on the computer desk. But the KDS is going on its sixth year in the same space. The study is kept at 71 degrees. My wife's 15" LED flat panel is going strong after eight years. The VX2433 is five-star when it works. Worthless when it doesn't. Averaged the two down for two stars.

This product as advertised is a beautiful 1080p Monitor by VeiwSonic. Plenty of customization when it comes to the colors and multiple input options, currently have an Xbox 360 hooked up (HDMI) and a Computer (VGA) both look beautiful. At 209$ you really cant beat the quality. It has good build quality as well as picture quality with a 2ms response time there is no ghosting or dead pixels to speak of. 5 stars definitely recommend.

I purchased two of these monitors for a dual monitor set up on my Dell computer. I replaced two 20 inch LCD monitors that I bought two years ago that at the time were decent monitors and that cost me more than these monitors. When I purchased my prior monitors I couldn't afford the higher refresh rate HD monitors (hey I was buying 2 of them)and so these monitors were an upgrade for me.These monitors are simply Amazing. I could not believe how the color just jumps off the screen and the additional detail that these provide over my non-HD monitors just blew me away. I spent the first day I had these going through old photos just because it was so much fun to look at them on these monitors. I could not believe how much better they (and everything else) looked.These monitors are crystal clear with bold, bright colors that you will find hard to turn away from. They were easy to set up - basically plug and play and didn't require any adjustments on my part. I can not recommend these enough and for the price - I can't figure out why anyone would buy anything else.

If you don't want to spend $900 on an apple monitor, then go for this excellent low priced viewsonic monitor, I got a 15 inch Macbook Pro I use an HDMI cable, I just bought a Mini Display Port to HDMI an I can work with a 1920 x 1080 resolution which is 1080p FULL HD. Make sure that when you setup the monitor you select the HDMI input option as PC and not TV because you'll have problems with the aspect.This monitor will never compare to the almost perfect resolution of an apple monitor, but it is pretty good for the price. NO FUZZY text, I have read many reviews and they mention the fuzziness of text, which is not real, at least in a mac computer

Got a brand new one from Costco. I planned to replace a Dell 19" (1905FPW),a 4 year old monitor.Right off when I plugged in, I saw the difference between the Dell and this monitor. The contrast ratio of this monitor was very bad which made colors appear washed out and text hard to read.When I tried to change the contrast ratio, I was appalled by the pathetic screen controls they have - extremely unintuitive and very hard to use.I went online to [..]to do a test of this monitor. The first test was the contrast test. The web site displayed 32 bands of color from darker to ligher shades, and asked me to change the contrast of the monitor such that all bands are distinguishable from the background and from each other. I could not see any differences on several color bands at the lighter end, no matter how much I tinkered with the contrast and the brightness.To make matters worse, the CD that came with this monitor got stuck in my PC's DVD drive :(. I think my DVD drive died on me.So I installed the drivers for this monitor from the web, hoping that it would improve the contrast ration of this junk. Did not work. I loaded the SRS WoW sound software from Viewsonic's site, and I could not believe how stupidly the software was designed. I went to YouTube to watch some HD movies. The sound was barely audible on the monitor's speakers and had a weird noise. I found this noise on several videos on YouTube. My Altec Lansing speakers work great, so it must be the monitor's speakers.I am surprised that others on the web are praising this monitor. Maybe I got a lemon. I gotto go back to Costco to return this junk.

This Viewsonic is my main screen, and it does a great job. I don't use the speakers, but have tested them, and they're not very fun to listen to...but they work. Great clarity, and great HD quality.

This monitor arrived dead on arrival but that's OK some consumer electronics have defects what really annoyed me was the fact that when i wanted to exchange it for a new one amazon stated it would be shipped out in 1-2 months ... i had payed for 1 day shipping for a reason important work needed to be done so instead of exchanging for the same product i chose to get a refund amazon has to send the cheapest slowest way of sending it back to themselves even though i payed good money for it to be sent out slowing my refund and causing somone to get fired from there job in the process since they were unable to get there work done overall horrrible horrible customer support on returns i suggest u don't buy any time sensitive products from amazon at all if u need to get anything done in a timely manner that being said if u want to get your replacement for a broken on arrival monitor 2 months after u sent yours back then this is a great sight to buy from

I purchased this monitor here at Amazon.com and after reading the reviews. I gave it 5 stars because of the price and image quality it has. The size is great, the pedestal is wiggly, but I have mine wall mounted so that doesn't effect me. the 1080P HDMI input is GREAT. I have my PS3 connected to it for gaming and blue-ray movies! The 23.6 widescreen is great for viewing to windows at once ( I like watching TV on one, while browsing on the other!). U really can't find a monitor in this size and features for the price ( I paid 199.99 flat!). The speakers are a HUGE conveinence for gaming consoles, cause both audio/video run threw a simple HDMI cable, but the sound could be better, it doesn't bother me though. Sound is clear and good enough for sitting 2-3 feet in front of the monitor. DVI connection is great for Digital signal from PC. What more could u possibly need....(a remote would have taken this monitor to top 10! Great price and product, couldn't be more satisfied!!!

Only four stars since I had to send it back because of a broken pixel in the middle of the screen, but the service was great and I had a new item within a few days. Now everything is fine. It's a really great monitor to a good price. The colors are brilliant and the resolution is great!

I've always had great luck with Viewsonic's. I have about 6 hours a day that I'm looking at a monitor and this 24" does the job. For $199, I couldn't say no. I had been working on my laptop monitor for a long while but I recently read that going from a 17" monitor to a 24" can make a person up to 50% more productive. I run DVI out of my mac and vga out of my Pc. Switching is solid and it seems to sync up quickly. Overall, a great monitor... you won't be disappointed.

Monitor arrived on time and working. Installation was a breeze and it has functioned very well. It replaced a 22 inch monitor that broke down after 2 years that was a different brand. The quality of the display on this unit is much better.

Second ViewSonic I purchased in the past two montsh and great. For less than $200 this screen is aswesome; 24" HD, built in speakers, connecting with DVi. Not the best picture in the world but very very good, especially for the price. Speakers are not uncommonly very good but fine for basic computing needs and listening to basic music; if you want good sound get external speakers anyway... Very highly recommended.

Solid and quite a steal. It works perfectly for me and the picture is beautiful. It blows my mind that some 24 inch LCD tv's cost 300-400 bucks when you can get this beauty for 200-ish.

hey guys i recently purchased this monitor and i have got to say, that i am pleased with how well it performs. i use it to play my xbox 360 via HDMI cable. this is definitely a great buy for the price and i would recommend it to anyone.

I read all the reviews when buying this monitor, and frankly I was concerned. However, I just got the monitor, opened the box, hooked it up, and changed resolution to 1900 , and BAM, it works like it should, its beautiful, and none of the problems described by other users. The text is just fine. I did not hook up the speakers, but I did now want them anyway. Its getting pretty hard to find a monitor in this price range without speakers (Go figure). Anyway, don't fear the reaper, it comes with a warranty, and none of these things last longer than 5 years anyway. (Get over your expectations - for 200 bucks, that time works out pretty well). The days of your Dad's 30 year old TV are gone my friends. All things considered, this is a great Monitor.Things I don't like:1. The stand - it could be better, I used to have a little Scoop in my last monitor that I put things like USB Sticks in.. but the adjustment is very nice, very easy to do.2. Speakers - WHY do I want them? Get rid of this. Who's dumb idea was it to put speakers (With MAGNETS) in a LCD monitor?3. Setup - it was way too easy to setup, and the controls I mastered in seconds. That's not compatible with your competitors, start making this harder on your customers please.

It was a bit bright when we first plugged it in and had to adjust the brightness and contrast. Once that was done we haven't had a problem. It's a much bigger screen and easier on the eyes than our old 15" monitor. We now watch movies on it as it's in the bedroom.

I can't provide a highly technical review of this display, but I use it every day and find it a pure pleasure. There are no dead pixels, no color blooms or impurities, and my games look fantastic. It's big and it's beautiful. I'm entirely satisfied with this display. Glad I bought it.

This monitor has a great picture and very easy to operate. The HDMI connection makes it a great deal for the price. Shipping was very fast.I would recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive monitor with many features found in higher priced monitors.

This is a real man's monitor!It's big, bright, and crystal clear.It's easily the best display I've ever owned.When I got this monitor I didn't even realize it had built in speakers, so it's hard to knock them for it, but the speakers are very weak and just don't sound good at all. I was hoping to do away with my regular PC speakers but not just yet.But what more can you ask for (besides good sound)?It has a VGA input (which would be an insult to this monitor if you used it), DVI, and HDMI.With HDMI it would allow you to connect it to a Xbox 360, Playstion 3, DVD, DirecTV/Dish...all kinds of good stuff.All-in-all, this is the monitor I've been waiting for.

This was the best monitor I ever bought. The picture is crisp, colors vivid, etc. The only minor gripes are:a) The blue power LED on the front is too bright. I had to cover it with something for viewing the screen in a dim room.b) The 1920x1080 resolution is fine for movies but is vertically challenged for normal computer use. For example, my 1600x1200 20" LCD monitor can fit more text on the screen (and is vertically taller despite the lower diagonal measurement) and is thus better suited for business work such as reading annual reports, etc.This was all very minor. The monitor quality is just excellent. I, like the others here, bought this at a warehouse retailer at an extremely attractive price. They sold like hot cakes! When I went to return mine, there were none left for sale.Why did I return it? XP Professional could produce this resolution fine. However, Ubuntu 8.04 and Ubuntu 8.10 both had troubles. I ended up having to drive it at a lower resolution in Ubuntu, which resulted in annoyingly fuzzy text. Later, I discovered that Ubuntu 8.10 is quite happy with 1920x1200 but cannot seem to do 1920x1080--at least with my hardware. Fedora 10 also only worked properly with 1920x1200 and had to drive the monitor at a lower-than-native resolution. Since I need to use Linux (Fedora or Ubuntu) for scientific work, the monitor had to go back. It was emotionally difficult to return it: so much screen real estate; so much quality! Viewsonic has produced an excellent monitor.If you're using Windows, it'll work just dandy. But for business use (reading vertically oriented documents) consider a 1920x1200 also before selecting.

I'm very pleased. The built in speakers are decent but don't match the desktop speakers and subwoofer combo. We wanted to clean up the desk area and so now we have a monitor with speakers, wireless keyboard and mouse. I plan to get an audio splitter so I can hook the subwoofer back up and see if that adds enough bass.Anyway, for the price of $199 it's an awesome monitor!

looks great with DVI ... but with HDMI on PC you can't get it to go 1920x1080 from a PC out I have a great video card Geforce GTX295, and bought special wires to wire my audio through the HDMI to the display. But pc resolution on this monitor is extremely lacking without DVI. The HDMI is for bluray player not for PC's... I want my money back.

This monitor puts the display on my old Sony VAIO laptop to shame. I am not your average computer user that bought a monitor. I buy the components and put together my own computer so it is the highest quality. I have been doing that since the middle 80s. The display is fantastic and the sound is good. I bought for myself to replace a 19" square LCD. Personally I hated this since I like the square piture better for work, I find it easier to read it. But I gave to my wife and she absolutely loves it. So, just be sure you like the widescreen aspect ratio and if you do, this is perfect with an outstanding picture.

This monitor replaces my old 19inch lcd display. The old display still works great, but I wanted something that works both with my Pc and my Xbox 360. The pc uses the DVI connection and the xbox uses the hdmi. The nice thing about this setup is that the sound out stereo connection switches with the changing the of the vidio source. The monitor also detects which connection is active. To switch to my xbox, I put my pc in sleep mode - the monitor also goes into it's sleep mode. I then turn on the xbox and the monitor automaticly switches to the hdmi input and the sound also tranfers. The switching can also be done thru the monitor's menu.The only bad thing is the speakers really don't sound very good, I'm currently using my old Stereo speakers.

I've had several high definition TV's and this monitor does not compare. Usually smaller means clearer in my experience, but picture is in no way nice to look at. Probably not bad, but not up to what I am use to.The stand is cheap looking, the style is blah.No remote? Maybe because of the monitor status. For the price I would rather pay $499 like I did for my 37 Vizio TV. Yeah, quite a difference in price, but so much nicer.It will meet my non-high def needs.

I was completely blown away by the visuals of this monitor, but especially by the cool built-in speakers. Be prepared to toss your fancy speakers from Logitech, Bose, etc. - or whatever you may have, because they're that good! In fact, I've found the speakers are so much more able than anything else out there, I tend to dim the monitor and just focus on the crystalline sound emanating from them. It's like a drug. Whether you're into rap, R & B, soul, disco or whatever, if you're an audiophile, you're going to really get a kick out of these.

This is a great monitor for the price. It had everything that I was looking for. I am useing this as a clone for when my HDTV is being used for TV watching. Or I can use this as a master screen when showing pictures or movies to family.The only issue I have is the text. Even at the native resolution and after calibrating ClearType it was no better. Maybe I should turn it off?I think the text was clearer thru VGA rather than HDMI. Switching back is not an option though.

In use little over a month. No complaints. Running in native resolution with minor adjustments for my eyesight - Images sharp, controls easy, no dead pixels. I usually prefer Samsung, but this unit (VX2433WM) was priced right and thought I'd give it a try. Glad I did. Works well as HDTV from my XP PC HD PCI tuner card.

I have always had a viewsonic monitor. But the other ones were CRT and this was my first LCD monitor. If you want sharp text stick with a CRT monitor. The text looked gray to me compared what I was used to. I found out if I tilted the monitor back a little the text got a little better. I looked at the monitors at work and they were worse on text. I am used to it now. I have had no problems with the monitor. Colors look good and the only other issue is the speaker is in back and I can not hear it well. My other viewsonic CRT monitors never went bad, I just wanted bigger and thinner. I read the reviews before I bought one and they were the same as mine. Black text is not as sharp on a LCD monitor. I would recomend this monitor if you are not planning on using the speaker and have used other LCD monitor's. The price is very good.

I pulled it out of the box, attached the DVI cable coming from my mac mini and it was up and running. Comes with 2 video cables which is convenient. No problems, no extra drivers or stuff needed. It came with a CD but I have not looked at it yet. Colors are nice and when I run a movie out of iTunes, looks good. I use external speakers so I will not comment on the quality of the speakers.

This is what you paid for at this price. I feel so lucky that there is no dead pixel. I believe Viewsonic still have a good quality control even they are made in China "Factory" and design in USA. The only thing i don't like is it can't be rise height only tilt. Unlike my old Viewsonic VP930B it can do both of that.

I wanted a large monitor for doing animation. The monitor is great, but I've found the quality to lack when using the VGA connection. My computer only has VGA, and there is significant static in dark colors. The good news is that it works perfectly when connected with DVI instead and I'm going to be getting a new computer soon that has DVI, so I'm not worried about it.I tested the monitor on my wife's computer with DVI and it was sharp and clean, no static, so like I said, if you're computer has DVI connection, then this monitor is great for the price!Although, don't use it's speakers, they suck! They're really quiet.

Some pixels were damaged at the left hand corner of the Monitor, when I recd. this Product.Amazon was great and returned it immediatley. I am Amazon customer since last 6 years, this is the first time, I got damaged product.

Ive been using my ViewSonic VX2433wm for a few weeks now and have to say that I am very pleased with it. I still do not understand why they decided to embed speakers in this monitor as they do not (as one might expect) produce very high quality sound. That aside, the color, clarity, and performance have just been superb. My coworkers have screens that recently cost twice what this one did and they like mine better. Totally recommended!!

Very bright, excellent color, lots of input types. If you're wanting this to be a night-time going-to-sleep movie monitor, it's a bit bright for that. For a computer monitor, though, it's outstanding. No dead nor stuck pixels, either.

i bought this to upgrade from a 19 inch WS viewsonic monter and i have been blown away bright picture with a little tweeking and the greatest picture i have ever seen surfing the web watching movies or playing world of warcraft are the best and u dont need a giant video card to run it my pc has a nvidia 8500 gt 512mb and runs it great i truely love this moniter

Perfect product/size everything I wanted...But......1 pixel on left side is stuck bright blue, I've learned to ignore it, wasnt worth the hassle of sending it back and all of that.I will buy Viewsonic again.
