Not much to say about a switch -- it either works or it doesn't.This one works, and costs less than most.It is currently handling some routine switching tasks in my home network, if you include driving a 300' run to a 100BaseT switch in another building as "routine".I have two of these driving a 300' or longer run between buildings, and they appear to be working without flaw.

I had been looking at some 24 port switches for a few weeks for a small game server farm, and ended up purchasing another TP-Link switch for a friend. I was definitely impressed with the quality of it for the price, so decided to give this switch a try. Although I haven't run it with a huge load yet, I have not had a single problem with it. As long as none of my future purchases have any major problems, I will definitely continue buying TP-Link switches.Also, my users average pings went down by ~20 ms after I replaced the Netgear 8 port switch with this, but I think that Netgear switch might just be defective. Still need to run some more tests on it.

Prime delivered fast. Opened the box, plugged in power and a Ethernet cable to my Verizon router. Added cable from switch and PC and it connected automatically. I am using Ubuntu 11.10 on an HP XW8000 workstation. I now have 4 more available wired ports. Great product and price.

Upgraded from a 10/100 switch and my throughput is definitely higher now. Not sure how this compares to other switches, but for my purposes, it is great. Feels pretty well put together.

This switch performs as advertised and, although cheap, fully meets the expectations. It's been very reliable throughout it's first month of use. Highly recommended!

Just got this today. Seems to work very well so far. I've done no configuration at all, just plugged it in, connected devices, and seeing Gig speeds. Providing this lasts for years to come....this will be a very good purchase!--UPDATE--Been using this since I received it in November 2011. Hasn't needed even a power cycle since I plugged it in. It just runs. Runs well, and is fast. Very happy with this purchase.

If you need a good gigabit switch and need to save money, this is a great option for you. Performance is great. I have noticed any problems in data transfer speeds or anything else. If you need more control within your switch, then this might not be the best for you. However, for someone that needs a good performing switch that is reliable and affordable, I recommend this for sure.

I have 2, both have been working for over 2 months with out needing any attention. But the speed is not as fast as I was expecting, I gotten a max of 40MB second but usually its around 20-25MB. The computers connected to though my dlink dir-655 router gets about 80-90MB second, but I guess thats $20 vs $70.

I purchased this for my home network. Haven't had any issues yet. Easy design, Easy to install!This model is able to be placed on the table. Never got overheat... Quite~~ AND CHEAP~~

The TP-Link 5 port switch was all I needed to split the connection from the cable internet modem to our two computers with maximum speed. I'm not big on wireless, and this does the job most effectively. Its uncomplicated, you just plug in the AC adapter, plug in your CAT6 cables and you are set. You need CAT6 cables, or else there is no point in upgrading to the gigabit swtich. CAT5 cables are only good for the 10-100 speeds.

Its a low priced gigabit switch. Considering all switches do the same thing, why pay more? This one has had zero problems since it was installed. Cheap and effective, don't even know its there cause it does what it is supposed to.

It works as advertised, noted NO slow down in traffic, and was transparent to the router.I have daisy chained my growing network without having to go to an 8 port switch.

file transfers are fast from computer to computer (about 100MBps) but gaming is a problem because with this switch I keep losing connection to server. So, if you are an online gamer you might want to look elsewhere.

I needed another switch and I bought this one because it was inexpensive, was supposed to be energy-saving, and was well-reviewed across the net.It works very well, and it runs cool - barely warm to the touch.Compare that with my Cisco 5-port gigabit switch which is always HOT to the touch.Heat is wasted electricity and ultimately challenges component reliability.I would recommend this product to anyone.

This unit replaced the two Apple Airport Expresses that were connected to my DirecTV receiver and my Panasonic Blu-ray player. I wasn't getting the download speed that I wanted with WiFi so I decided to go with ethernet. Ran the Cat5e from the Airport Time Capsule, plugged it into the TL-SG100SD, connected the receiver and player and bingo everything worked. I got the speed increase that I wanted. I wished everything with networking was so easy.

Cool running, fast speeds, easy setup (well, no setup-it figures everything out as you plug it in). Twenty words is ridiculous. What else? Nice solid case, clean lines. Be careful that for ports plus the input are enough.

I have used this for about a month and it has been working fine. I haven't had to powercycle it yet, so that is a good sign. The case is plastic and seems to be a little cheap but if you are not setting things on it or kicking it all day it should be fine. It is a little too light for my liking, as it tends to be affected by the cables positions so it doesn't like to lie flat.

I ran out of ports on my router, so I purchased the switch to allow additional connections to the LAN. Works like a champ! They are inexpensive, very easy to install, and I Highly recommend them based on my experience with them! You cannot go wrong!!
