We had a problem with our wifi reaching through out the house. We are big online gamers and was losing a lot of download and upload. Once we got this switch, we were able to use it to wire our gaming towers up. No lag now :)

Does just what it claims at a great price. Just plug and play, that easy. Add AC and Ethernet connection and you are ready to share that connection at 10/100/1000 Mbps.

Bought this to replace a separate modem, router, and access point and upgrade to wireless n. Very satisfied so far after approximately 3 weeks. Initial setup was rather difficult.

Cheapest and best unmanaged 5 port switch. I currently use rather than sharing the connection with a second NIC port.

This item replaced a Netgear of similar design and this is far better and has more speed and control of the Ethernet ports, It helps out with congested internet by being fast and having ability to power down unused ports, and it controls the ports by data flow which helps out with speed I think. I notice more through put of data and faster. I would However suggest the 8 port switch if you have larger area or for future expansion.

I ordered the 5 port and the 8 port Gigabit switch.The order was filled very fast.The 5 port works great but the 8 port gigabit switch arrived dead.I am asking for a replacement. If all goes well I will update this review.

I got this switch to live under my desk at work. It allows me to have my primary machine, a licensing server machine, and my slate/tablet all connect to the single hardwired port available in my office space. I haven't had to mess with this switch or worry about a thing since plugging it in. Outside of a power outage or two it has run continuously without issue for months.

Running short of connections behind your TV? This is cheaper than running one wire and adds 7 connections. If you already have cat 5 or cat 6 wiring then you'll have gigabit back to your main Internet connection. I bought 3 and saved hundreds compared to running new wires.

I have a TP-Link wireless router and tried a different brand switch to save a few dollars. In the end, I returned the one I originally bought and got this one. I now have installed my very own shared home network and by adding a media streamer, I have created my own virtual cloud! Works great!

It's a simple switch. Plug it in and it works. Gigabit speeds are great. Price is right. I have three of them daisy-chained together and they work flawlessly.

Caused issues with HD Home Run Prime once I hooked it up. Tried to toy around with it, ended up unhooking it and using it in another area in the house

Has been working fine since the day I received it. Good speed. No errors. Like a switch should be. With 24 ports I have a better network than with a couple of 8 port units cascaded.

While not an impressive case, it delivers. Very fast and economical. Replaced a netgear that was in a nice looking well made white case, but slowed things down substantially.

For the price, I was not expecting much but I have to say this is a great value. This is a very simple plug and play unmanaged switch, nothing fancy but perfect for most homes and even a small office with simple needs. I've hardwired most of my devices, freeing up the wireless for the stuff that moves. I'm using it with a desktop that is running Microsoft Media Center, a Silicon Dust HD Home Run to record up to 3 channels at once, an Xbox used to play those recordings. I also stream Netflix on a Blu-ray player and a PS3 all connecting to this switch and all work perfectly. The current item picture on Amazon shows a white top but mine arrived all black which I think looks better.

Your basic low-end switch. Kind of a plasticy feel, but worked fine out of the box and has been 100% reliable so far. If you don't need any special features, why spend more?

Replaced a 10/100Mbps switch with this one. Speeds have jump considerably.I really like the look, with the ports in the back and the status lights in the front. I have this sitting with my home theater equipment, and it looks much cleaner than the old switch with the Cat5 cables coming out the front.

What can I say, these are great inexpensive 5 port gig switches. I purchased two and both work great. Only gripe is that the LED doesnt change color based on link speed. (IE green for 100MB and Orange for 1Gig)

This switch is a winner, I currently have 5 of these beasts installed on small-medium networks, some are 6-12 months old and the performance is just GREAT, It's like installing a Linux server, set it and forget it, it will not let you down.

This is a great product from TP-Link. I've used many of their products in the past and they never disappoint. I ran this switch at a LAN party with game servers and a firewall plugged into it. We ran over a Terabyte of traffic through it over the course of 2 days and didn't have a single issue. We stressed it with large file transfers with no issues. For a gigabit switch at this price-point, you can't go wrong with this product!Great job TP-Link! I can't wait to use more of your products in the future.

I ordered this for our small office network when our older d-link 10/100 just died. I had been looking for an excuse to upgrade to gigabit and couldn't beat the price. Arrived the next day with standard shippIng. Just plug in and go. Small footprint and no noise complaints. Been working fine for the last few weeks. I would purchase again.

Not much to report. I needed a gigabit speed 5 port switch and this was perfect. Installed in seconds and had no problems. Build quality is the same as D-link and other brands I am more familiar with. Lights, ports, everything works as expected. Didn't test speed but saw no slow downs in heavy use (even video). Comes with AC adapter but no other cords. Is small and fits neatly on desk. Looks good as well.

I ordered this switch because it's gigabit and I have 3 internet connected devices in my home theater room with only one wall connection. I thought this was a great deal since it is gigabit and I have a gigabit router on the other end. However, when I took it out of the packaging I immediately noticed how cheap and flimsey looking it is and once hooked up I would get lower quality than normal when streaming Netflix on my Xbox. It sometimes completely drops connections. If I bypass the switch and hook it directly into the wall I have no problems. This thing sucks. Perhaps it would work fine for very light duty applications.I ordered a 8 port gigabit TRENDnet TEG-S80G on sale for $30 and it works great as a replacement for this piece of junk. It's made of metal and feels much more heavy and well made as well.

I have purchased two of these from Amazon. Both are performing very well. I have one on my home network and one on my desk at work. I am an IT professional so I typically have multiple machines setup at my desk that need to access the network. This little switch works well and stays cool. The other big name switches are ten or twenty bucks more and do the same thing. Why pay more?

This works flawlessly. I added it to my network, connected the devices, and was up and running in 5 minutes. There was no need to configure a thing, as it's just a switch - which is eactly what my network needed. It's been up and running for a month or two, and I can't complain one bit.

I purchased this 24 port switch about 2 months ago and it has performed like a champ. Teamed with an Asus RT-N56U router and a Motorola SB6121 cable modem and I am seeing 140Mb internet speeds down and 6Mb speed up; file transfers are very fast. File transfers measured with FileCopy on a 11GB folder took 3 minutes 24 seconds at 53.89 MB/sec. push throughput. Same file pulling throughput took 3 minutes 43 seconds at 49.44 MB/Sec. All 24 ports are gigabit and the switch has an internal fan. Will pick up another one soon and I highly recommend this switch. High quality at an affordable price.

Gigabit is nice and does seem much faster than the slower routers (OK switches, but you know what I mean). I am glad I bought it. It also has little lights on the front and some of them flash. I like that! It makes me happy.

At my configuration I needed to add more gigabit ports, and this uni sounded like a good alternative at a decent price princely had cisco router that was extremely nois so I decided to change to this unit . I must set that this unit i very very quiet in fact no noise at all. The unit work as presente, it fits correctly in the rackc so no problems at all. I recommend this produc for anyone who is in the market fo switch for gigabit to board solution that can be mounted

I wanted a (5) Port Unmanaged Gigabit switch to help clean up our existing network infrastructure at home. This little guy did the trick for not a lot of cash. It does everything it should and has a neat feature that powers down unused ports which makes it a little more green than a normal switch.

I am not a big operation office IT person or anything like that. I needed an unmanaged switch for my home network and this was just the right choice. No setup needed. Just plug and play. I've had this installed for a few months now and it works like its spouse too. Hooray for TP-Link stuff. Been switching ALL my stuff and it works stupendously.
