Runs through a dumb switch to router. Everybody on the network can now print cheaply. Had to turn my CPU to horizontal - install disk is a mini. Could have downloaded from website, but it was faster to turn CPU to horizontal.

This is an absolute kludge. Single user, next user must request that first user release the device, then first user must release it.

Clumsy for non-tech users, too many setup options.

Not very responsive at all. I bought this to network Dynamo label maker and doesn't work very well. Been having problem since day one.

Easy to set up as a networkable USB 2.0 hub. Like most USB hubs though, you can only have ONE PC attached to the hub over the network at a time. Works fine as an old fashioned TCP/IP printer for old USB 2.0 connected printers on your network though, but of course then you lose the ability to scan using the attached device.

I read reviews of all the other USB print servers and all seemed buggy. I was tempted to buy one for $10 off ebay but decided instead to buy something with a brand I recognize. No regrets. I just plugged my printer into the device, plugged in the ethernet cable, powered up the little server, turned on the printer, installed the software and it worked. You do have to fire up the software each time you use the printer, which is a slight inconvenience.

Does not work with MAC. Need to have a DOS driver to use. Junk

Works very well with Windows. It got it working with Linux, but I'm still trying to get it to work with Android.

So...I really hate it when someone precedes a review of a tech product with "I am an IT professional, so I know what I'm doing..."

But...I'm an IT professional...

OK, so I wasted like an hour trying to get this to work on my home network and with my printer. I managed to get the printer connected, bit couldn't connect to the server to print. I then wasted another hour on principle. No more! It Sucks!

So I also hate it when someone brings up a product that worked instead, but damn it i hated wasting two hours on this piece of junk, so I figure I'll save you the pain.

I bought the Cirago NUS1000 and I had the thing connected and I was printing in literally 5 minutes!

It made me hate this piece of junk even more. Oh yeah, by the way, this was MY SECOND ONE! I'd sent the first TP-Link print server back because I thought it was defective. Guess what?

So go with the Cirago and save your precious time and sanity.

***Update***
Since I recommended the Cirago NUS1000 print server, I should point out that two months in, as I've added file and media sharing, I've run into a couple hiccups.

1. The Cirago will overheat if it has to index a large volume with lots of files. When it overheats, it shuts down and the connection is obviously lost. This can be mitigated by specifying specific directories for file sharing access rather than the entire volume, but it is nevertheless an annoyance.
2. Any connected USB drives must be formatted FAT32 in order to be able to write to the drive. WHAT? That is so goofy. Very annoying this one, so you would either have to move files off to another location, convert the drive and move everything back. Or you can NOW purchase the Cirago NUS2000 which does not have this limitation.

worked fine for two weeks so I called tp-link for support. was informed that the printer was not on the hardware list so there is nothing they can do. Nice.

I bought for a storage sever. Works but is too slow to be of any use. Only get speeds of 1 Mbps or so.

The product works, but could be more transparent, i.e. more in the background.

The software crashes my computer several times a day. Supposedly allows for auto connect/disconnect option, but in fact I've had to manually connect each time I want to use my printer. This is not what I would call a working device.

Never have figured out how to make it work!!

This was easy to set up. Replaced an old computer being used as a printer server. Works better than the computer.

I purchased this for the office scanner, so it can be shared over a network. It works great.

At the begining was a little bit complicated because of the software that it needs, but later I find out how to set up easy. Work with one computer at the time, not spool printer.
