Software is terrible, cause blue screen, driver would not start up automatically. Application had great trouble finding the device and then would disconnect to quickly and hang on reconnect. Many misspellings in the dialog screens and some parts are in Chinese. It is a great idea but has horrible software. I returned it after several hours of frustration.

Maybe my expectations were too high... It does work but it was not plug and play. Issue 1, Discovered I had to be ethernet connected to my router to go through setup (tried it wireless and wouldn't see the printer). Once I was connected via cable I was able to go through setup). Issue 2, The "Quick Installation Guide" is written so small you can't see the writing on their screen examples...but after getting a magnifying glass, discovered the menu selections in the guide did not match my screen anyway. I could do what I needed to do but they were not close to matching. Issue 3, the guide insinuates that you "could" disable the disconnect printer when idle option which I did. Then I switched to wireless and could not print. It would not allow me to "send a break request" and connect device using wireless. I had to reconnect the cable, disconnect the device, go back to wireless then connect the device. So, moral of the story, perhaps the disconnect when idle option is the way to go in a shared environment. But what a pain to have to Connect Device every time you want to print. I suppose when I get the options all set after trial and error, we'll all be able to connect and print but I think I need to install the software on every computer in my home network. Based on all the feedback I read prior to purchase, plug it in and away it goes...Not so much. Plan on a couple of hours or trial and error (my experience anyway). Still an OK product, I like it but it's not quite the silver bullet I was looking for.

Absolute junk. Can't get this thing set up and working right at all. I'll give it another go another time but for now, I give up.

Really cool if you need to network non-network scanners. Makes sense to run the queue function and not directly connect to the printer through the app and only use the app when using the scan function. All is explained on their web page, but works great with 3 printer/scanners and 4 laptops and 4 desktops and a bunch of teen users.

Loose connection after 30 min. Need to restart it all the time you want to print something. Crap.

good price for good use. In the LAN, every computer could use this printer. So far, I feel satisfied with that.

First I connected it to my router and the printer. Then I install the software on my two labtop(win7 x86 and win7 x64). After the install step, it need to restart. Then it could find the printer server. And it already finds the printer. So I click the connect to the printer. I can print.

By the way, I recommend that install your printer driver on your computer by using the usb cable before you begin to use the printer server. One of my labtops, is win7 x64. It has some problem on search my printer's driver by windows update when I connect to the printer server without install the printer's driver.

I was rather dubious that this would work but based on other reviews I bought it. Well, I just set it up and it was amazingly simple to set up and use, first try and everything works great. I have a Lexmark 8350 MFP and a Seagate back up drive connected to it. My home network is comprised of a cayman router, linksys wap, 4 laptops, a desktop, 2 printers and a seagate back up.

Took a little searching on the internet but I finally got it to work on Windows 10. Works as advertised.

Easy installation and setup. I plugged in a 4 port USB adapter, plugged in 2 printers (1 MFP and 1 Laser) installed the software, clicked on the Icon and the printers were recognized immediately. Right clicked on each printer and selected "connect automatically for printing" and that was it. I also loaded the software to 2 other Window 7 computers with no issue. I was able to print to the default printer as set on each computer or select "connect" to use the other. Great product for a great price.

Every time you want to print something you have to power cycle it. Other than that it works and I don't have to hook up cables.

My wife and I wanted to share the our Cannon ix6500 printer on our network. The Cannon printer is fantastic, but it is not a network printer. Tried other print servers and I could print but could not communicate correctly with the Cannon printer. Now with the TP-Link AC adapter I can see all the ink levels, set maintenance schedules for the ink cleaner on the printer, tell the printer to print the last page first (great for large print outs) set the print quality and much much more. I can also set the TP- link adapter to disconnect from my router automatically when any computer is finished printing. Any computer on my router can click print and it will automatically connect again! This is a very cool USB network adapter. Loving it!

Just switched to windows 8 and I could not load the drivers. Still working on my wife's windows 7 machine. So I just emailed TP-Link support and hopefully can update for windows 8.

Works like a charm. Automatically connects and disconnects printer when called upon to print by each computer on a network so works well as a network print server. Every so often I need to reboot it but that is not a big deal.

This device does what it is advertised to do, but when I was looking for a device like this, I overlooked the products limitations. In a single system environment, this will probably work well. But for resource sharing, this really hasn't been a good solution for my needs.

Love Tp link hardware got a 48 port, 2x 24 port, 8x 8 port switches and love them more the the D-links that they replaced, but this print sever just plain sucks. Went with the iogear print sever instead.

Worked with the MAC, but instructions don't have MAC as choice. Works everytime with MAC.
The Vista box trying to get to work with, failed twice.
Installed (as Administrator) per instructions and printed via notepad.
Rebooted and logged in as regular user and couldn't get it to work, not even as Administrator.
Printer on approved list of printers that should work.
Went to issue of getting it off the Vista box and reinstalling from scratch. Same result.
Not recommend for Microsoft products. Apple works great when installed via IP address.

Just what I needed to get my 1995 laser printer modern and functional on my home network. HP LaserJet510. I installed the printer driver via USB hookup and then installed the TP-Link software with the printer connected via ethernet. It was then easy to find and install the printer

Drivers required to work. You can't just use server or IP address to install. I don't understand why this device can't just use legacy print server drivers like any other brand. I don't like having active bloatware running in the background just to access a printer.

Don't be fooled this is not a print server. A print server will allow anyone on the network to print to the printer. With this device you have to run a program before you start to print or you set it up so that you it is always connected but if you do that no one can print to the printer until you disconnect the program. At that it would be easier to have a long printer cable and just plug in.

I tried for two months to try and get this device to work. In all fairness it did work a few times and then disconnected again. The technical help was responsive, although slow, but about all they did was to ask question. They never really offered solution. It is past the time I can return it, so I guess I just get to eat the $40.00.

This device doesn't work with Windows 8 or 8.1 and no upgrades are available at this writing. I hope the vendor does offer a flash upgrade soon...it's a good product and worked fine with Windows XP.

Just got this to use with my old Kodak All-in-One ESP 3 printer. It was easy to set up with my Verizon router and I can use the printer and scanner from anywhere in the house. (I'm using Windows Vista on my laptop and will be next trying it with my husband's running Windows 10.)

Works quite well. Would recommend it, with the only caveat being that sometimes (not very often) the driver gets stuck in Windows Vista and printing doesn't work until the computer is rebooted. This might be a non-issue in Windows 7 or newer.

Tried everything and never could get this to work with my printer. So I ended up buying a Brother's wireless colored laser printer.
