I rate it 2 stars because I found it annoying having to navigate the menus and stuff all the time. If they update the firmware and fix a few annoyances, I will give it a 4. I want to turn it on and play my media on my phone, but the Smart Wireless Pro makes you do some work every time. If you want a good bluetooth device to listen to music, and streaming iheartradio and stuff like that get the Sony mw600. It sounds better and it's much easier to use. All you have to do is turn it on and adjust the volume.The smart wireless pro is not very smart at all. The good news is that the firmware can be updated and hopefully they will fix it so it's not such a pain to use. It's a pretty high tech little device and there are apps you can use to add more functionality. The whole idea of it sounds pretty good, but I waste way too much time fiddling with the darn just to get it to work. Maybe different phones and different versions of android work differently, but these are my experiences with a Motorola Photon 4g.I had a few annoying problems with the Smart Wireless Pro. When I listen to something on my phone and someone calls me, I can answer and talk to them fine. But when I end the call it doesn't switch back to whatever I was listening to. So I have to push the select button, and push the right arrow to highlight my phone, and push select again to connect to my phone media.When I am at work mowing grass (noisy), I listen to sports talk on iheartradio pretty much all day long. I found that the volume is not quite loud enough even with some excellent noise isolating headphones (ue700). Music plays loud enough but some talk stations are not. Basically, I want more volume, or I want the volume to work separately like on the mw600. The volume on the smart wireless pro can only be adjusted on the device itself. The phone volume does nothing.Another annoying thing is that the smart wireless pro forgets things. If I turn off bluetooth, then turn it back on later, I have to navigate again to play media from my phone. Why doesn't it just remember what media I was listening to last time? The mw600 does remember and it's not even "smart". If you turn the power off, it even forgets what FM station you had it tuned to.

Everything they say about how terribly this product performs, is sadly the truth.I paired this MW1 device with my Samsung I9250 Galaxy Nexus 16GB (Unlocked) on JB 4.2 and installed the original Sony app from Play Store. A firmware update began to download and install. Initially the device didn't stay connected to the phone all of the time, and soon after, the Sony headset died on me - permanently. Thinking this was a coincidence, I switched it for a new device at the store. Having removed the old device from my phones paired devices, I paired this new Sony properly. The device soon got its upgrade to 0.1.C.0.3 and now it hasn't died on me, though it could as well have, because of all its flaws.1) In a phone call or when listening to a podcast etc., the connection drops for a few seconds every now and then.2) MW1 can not recognize any audio files on my Samsung 32GB High Speed MicroSDHC Memory Card with SD adapter.3) MW1 only supports two connections; on my Sony Ericsson Hi-Fi Bluetooth Stereo Headset with FM Radio I successfully paired at least three devices.Trying to use MW1 on a Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100 Unlocked Phone with 8MP Camera and Touchscreen - International Version (Black) or a Asus Google Nexus 7 ASUS-1B32 32GB Tablet - Quad-core Tegra 3 Processor, Android 4.1, both on Android 4.2, is just as hopeless.Sorry to say, this is to my knowledge currently the only headset with all those cool functions I wanted, but now will have to live without.

I use this with my Industrial Earmuffs. The Ear Muffs have a 3.5 stereo jack and the MW1 gets clipped to the collar of my t-shirt. The MW1 would have been much better had they placed the 3.5 stereo jack on the bottom instead of the top where the microphone is. So now the cable often rubs against my neck, which can get annoying. I don't use the sd card as the MW1 is really basic when it comes to playing any form of media, including the FM radio. Apart form that, is suite my needs perfectly. People can hear me very well, even in very noisy situations, but this device does NOT have noise cancelling. So, I can be wearing industrial ear muffs hands free and can have two phones connected at a time, or one phone and bluetooth on my PC, or a bluetooth enabled MP3 player. Likewise, if I'm listening to music via one of the bluetooth enabled devices, that fades out, and the phone call comes through crystal clear.

I bought this bluetooth headset for $99 for a senior family member in Jul 2012 as it worked as a stand alone MP3 player too. Every one or two months the headset stopped working and each time he got a brand new replacement. He's already got his third one by Oct 2012. We wonder how many replacements he will get within the one-year warranty period.For myself I bought a Samsung HS3000 bluetooth headset in May for $30 from Amazon. It still works fine. The Sony has very little edge in sound quality in music playing. The sound from Sony can go louder, therefore it makes vocal sound a little more solid. But I have to stress the difference is minimal, and it doesn't justify the 330% price difference. I used Westone UM3X to test them.Update: 28 Nov 2012My relative lost his Sony bluetooth headset so there will be no more replacement for him in the one-year warranty period.

Bought this to replace a MW600 with a broken clip. Great range. Great battery life. Crystal clear display. Box comes with loads of accessories to help increase the value. Easy to set-up and use. They really have learned from the mistakes on the MW600 (which was the benchmark BT headset for music) - that is the charging port is hard to let moisture in, the volume control is now a rocker switch and not the touch sensitive rubbish and the clip looks to be indestructable. Don't bother buying a larger capacity SD card for the unit, it's well documented that at the time of me writing this the units do not recognise SD cards of greater than 2GB. i have a full video review on you tube, just search for my name (zero2espect).i bought this to use as a stereo bluetooth headset to use while i work out in the gym and use by the pool. it does all of this excellent - hence the 4. if i was buying this to use a stand-alone music player or as an app device to use with my phone, it'd score only a 3 (e.g. it does the job ok).

To be honest it would be a great product if the following was to occur,1. If the device could read Micro SD Memory more than 2GB, it is advertised that you could use upto 32 GB, but I tried all the leading brands and it always reads them 2GB...2. If it could actually work as an MP3 on it's own. It does work streaming from my phone where it can randomily start music on it's own and most of the time I have to open the player from my phone for the play functions on the device to work...!?3. Read my text messages as advertised! doesn't work!4. ...OR SHOULD I SAY 4!!!!!! I bought 2! so that's not with one device it's with 2! It randomily shuts off and doesn't turn on again!! it gives you a kids chucky horror movie sound like *ti tu ti tu to* and thats it! $175 up yours! in m case $175 x2!... Sony is yet to reply it's been a month.. so all those who though this would be a dream well it is if they manage to fix all the problems in the mean time STAY AWAY FROM IT!

I must say that I really love the sound quality and I have been using MW600 previously until the earpiece gave way. I could not find the alternative earphone for the MW600 hence decided to try on the New Sony MW1B. Unfortunately, there are several issues of the player unable to play certain songs which I think there are bugs that are not fix yet. Secondly, the player can connect to iphone but the player does not have the function to control the music forward, play and etc. Though, the answering via Bluetooth is superb. It is very clear and no static noise. The feature component is meant for android users, iphone users be patient.

Used for a month, now it is dead, dead as a rock; do anything possible trying to wake it up...no responding at all.Tons of bugs inside this device, Sony should be shameful to launch this product without proper testing or quality check.Only thing good on this product is its pretty packing...that's all.This is a dream product becomes a nightmare...shame.

I purchased this headset about a month ago, the first one I received didn't have the ear clip, I returned it and got another, the second one had the clip.When you pair this headset to the PS3 using USB (HD mode) you can't change the mic volume. I was a little concerned about this at first since while playing it looked like my mic was in use when there was any room noise. Other players haven't mentioned that this is a problem. I've read that you can pair over bluetooth and are able to change the mic volume, though you lose HD mode and possibly other functionality. I haven't tried.Sound quality is good, you can hear other people easily. When muted the headset flashes pink. I like this feature, people in my house know they can talk to me if the headset is pink.The earpiece can be a little painful for me if worn for extended periods, I'll switch ears from time to time because of this.I'm satisfied with it, it does the job, is easy to use, and has a sleek look. It could be more comfortable.

I have absolutely no issues with this headset. It charges in about two hours and the battery can literally last me a month's worth of gaming. When docked, it's a beautiful thing to look at and in use, I have hit no roadblocks. I can hear my friends talking and they can hear me. When using it with my iPhone 4S, I can use Siri and quality on that front is wonderful as well.It may take a few minutes to understand how to turn it on, turn it off, or pair it but beyond that, it's mahogany.

This headset is decent for the price. I purchased the headset about a year ago, and it work fine. I Have not had any sound issues with it so far.Im giving this headset a 4 star rating mainy because it is comfortable to wear and not Bulky like alot of headsets are. So far it seems to be made pretty well, Mine hasnt recieved any damage or wear in the year that i have been using it. The downfall i noticed is when its cahrging you cant use the device. I've had plenty of headsets that i can charge and still use and this doesnt have that option. Keep that in mind if your thinking of buying it.

I have the Official PS3 Bluetooth Headset and I have got to say it is a very good headset. The reason the audio quality is not very good is because the Bluetooth version included in the PS3 itself is not made for High Quality streaming, and beacuse most games use most of the internet bandwidth for the game itself. I recently purchased a Turtle Beach PX5 Headset and love it too.

I've been using this product for a couple of weeks now and I am pretty happy about it.Usage:-Daily-In PS3 CoD:MW3 great gaming experience. Good sound quality and doesn't repeat what is being heard from my TV.-In iphone. Did not have any issues pairing the headset with the phone and works great. Use it daily while driving and with music in my radio and people doesn't complain about voice quality.Pros:Smalllighteasy to mount on eareven can be used as a mic when connected to PC in the standextreme long battery lifecons:none really.

if you have owned the original ps3 blue tooth headset you will certainly like this one better. slimmer, lighter, and actually holds to your head even if your shaking your head or hanging upside down. the lights seem to be much brighter than the ones from the previous model and also the modes are easier to distinguish since they have 3 colors rather than trying to remember how many blinks meant what. the battery life is quite impressive, as well as the sound quality. these also have a background noise cancellation which is extremely nice. overall i rate this as 5of5. i drive commercial trucks for a living and can hear people over the engine roar with this headset. use it all the time for my phone as well as at home for games. great no matter what!!

I noticed that this headset got some negative reviews so i decided to write my own. First of all, this headset is very comfortable, sleek, and easy to use even when it's on your ear. The sound quality is also great and I didn't get problems with me hearing my friends or them not being able to hear me.I have no idea why some people have problems paring the device. It's pretty simple and straightforward. I connected the headset to the PS3 and the red light on the blue-tooth came on. I let it charge for about 2 hours until the red light turned off. I then turned it on and got a message on the PS3 saying the blue-tooth device has been connected.I went under Settings - Accessories - Blue-tooth Devices on the PS3 and saw my blue-tooth device listed there. You can easily connect and disconnect the device by clicking Triangle here. Sometimes when I turn on my headset I notice that it doesn't automatically sync so I have to go here and just click triangle and then connect. No big deal to me.I also saw another review saying that the audio comes from the TV instead of the device. You can easily change where the audio comes from by going under Settings - Accessories - Sound Settings on your PS3. You can make the audio come out of the TV or the Headset.In conclusion, I think this device received some negative reviews just because the user didn't take the time to configure the device properly or had no idea what they were doing. I would definitely recommend this headset. Works flawlessly on my PS3 and the sound quality is great. On top of that, the design is very nice and it works on either ear.

I do not know why people are disliking this. i used to use my webcam as a mic. but it broke, so i bought this, and it is awesome. i am a big fan of call of duty and well, this helps in zombies... a lot. i would greatly recommend this, buy it. the sound quality is great!Pros-Great quality-mute button-good charging station (pro and con, i will explain later)-stays in ear-easy to set up-works!Cons-charging station is a pain at first, then when you figure it out its all good-it hurts the ear itself when its in for a while, just gets a little achy because its hard plastic, not because of sound-only charges when ps3 is on, which kinda sucks, when you play is when you want to use it right lol... but if you are like me and just hook it up to a usb port on your computer it will be all goodoverall= a great buy, i recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll keep this simple:Great comfort, crisp sound, and easy functionality. Mute, volume, and power are right there for you.It is fairly sensitive to surrounding sounds, which isn't so great when I'm trying to keep my televisions volume up so I can hear the game. Also, I wish the battery life lasted a little longer. I'm just nit-picking here. This really is a great device not just for the PS3, but for mobile devices as well. Highly recommended!

Fits well, comfortable, easy to use and most importantly keep that communication link up and constant especially when playing COD Online. I give it 4 out of 5 stars cause there's always room for improvement. Get it!...you won't be disappointed.

First of all, I originally purchased this headset because I wanted a bluetooth headset that could do both Hands-Free protocol for using my cell phone, and also the Stereo Bluetooth protocol for all other audio functions on my Windows Mobile 5 cell phone. People who have used a Windows Mobile 5 cell phone with a bluetooth hands-free device have noticed that the only audio function that is transmitted to the headset are phone calls, while functions such as music playing and GPS navigation audio continue to play from the cell phone's speaker.For a cell phone to send ALL the audio to the bluetooth headset, the cell phone must have the newest updates to Windows Mobile 5 with A2DP functionality, and the headset must be capable of the "Stereo Bluetooth" protocol.As a stereo headset, this device works fairly well. Sound quality was good, but not great. I understand that you are probably not going to get the same audio quality through a Bluetooth headset as you are going to get from a wired connection, but it still functioned well enough.As a Hands-Free device for a cell phone, there are a couple of very positive features. First of all, this headset is amplified. People that have a difficult time hearing through a regular Bluetooth Hands-Free device will find the higher volume levels available from this device to be very appealing. The hidden microphone was of good quality and people that I was talking to were able to hear me clearly.The headset also has a novel way of connecting the left and right speakers, using a retractable wire instead of a solid support like many stereo headsets.Unfortunately, this headset was not terribly comfortable for me to wear for an extended period of time. It was also not easy to quickly put on, particularly if you intend to just use the device for a cell phone hands-free device. Finally, the user looks incredibly goofy with these two large growths sticking out of the side of his/her head.I tried to modify my headset to just be a mono unit by disconnecting the wire from the left speaker. My goal was to turn this into just a mono headset like every other hands-free device. When I did so, the audio quality became extremely bad, making it unusable.The concept is good, and I would like to see a device that can use both protocols for Windows Mobile 5. Unfortunately this device didn't do what I needed it to do, and I have since moved on to something else.

This particular Bluetooth headset did not work very well with my LG Fusic. Whenever I would turn my head, the signal would constantly cut out. I placed the phone in my pants pocket, around my arm, and even a foot in front of my face. Maybe it would synch better with a different phone. The retractable cord did work well though. The headset is also a very convenient travel size. They secured themselves around my ear pretty well and I did not feel they were too big.

These headphones are OK, but for one of the most expensive bluetooth headphones out there I just expected more. And I found more in less expensive, sleaker looking, competing headphones. The Sony's won't strike you as bad if they are your first go at bluetooth A2DP headphones. But once you've tried others, the Sony's faults become apparent.They are clunky, overly ostentatious, and hard to put on quckly and properly. They really can't be used when lying down because they start to hang off your ear, and they can't be used when running or exercising becuase they bounce all over the place. On the other hand they have the best battery life I have seen thus far and sound quality is decent (but far from best).I've tried 3 other bluetooh headphones (the Logitech Wireless FreePulse, the Bluespoon Nextlink headphones, and the gorgeous Samsungh SBH-170, the Motorola and Jabra offerings looked entirely too big). So far only the Logitech and the Samsung have impressed me. The Logitech has by far the bestquality and can easily recieve streams with extremely high bluetoothbitrates (that means little to no tell-tale bluetooth clipping soundsas well as extremely high fidelity sound). It however was uncomfortable when worn for long periods of time, could not fold up into a more compact shape, and had no phone call support (no built in mic). The Samsung didn't have the sound quality of the Logitech, but it had EVERYTHING elseand so it won out for me at least.Diehard Sony fans, may want to wait for the DR-BT21G for over the ear headphones in a better form factor, or go for one of the bluetooth chorded in ear solutions that Sony offers.

I really liked the design of this bluetooth set. I looked all over for it. I wanted a stereo headset that I could remove or drop one earpiece so that it wouldn't look like a stereo headset (for use at work.) I planned to listen to books on tape during boring meetings. :) But this headset was very uncomfortable after just a few hours and didn't transmit my voice well -- people complained that I was too loud and hollow sounding. Probably because the mike is on the ear piece, no boom. Anyway, I wish it could have worked better. No problem with returning it for a refund.
