This is my first autofocus prime lense for my a6000. It's a great lense and gives a superfine image quality.
- It gives a crispy image with a creamy Bokheh.
-The lenght of the lense is approximately double of the kit lense and weighs around 300 grams .
- It also comes with a nice lense hood which perfectly matches the need.
- Only downside I've experienced is that it doesn't have a optical age stabilization but can be managed unless you have really a shaky hand.
- Definitely one of the essentials for sony 6Ks and highly recommended.

This is my first dalliance into the world of fixed focal length prime lenses. Purchased for my A6000 mirrorless camera. It is great quality. Metal body with a large rubber focus ring which is very tactile. Paired it with the Gobe NDX filter. Cannot wait to take this to Paris and see what I can capture.

Mein Objektiv ist heute angekommen und ich bin extrem begeistert. Ich verwende sie mit meiner SONY A6000 und sie holt einfach das allerbeste aus der Kamera raus. Sie ist toll für Portraits und Detailfotos. Ich hänge einige meiner unbearbeiteten Testfotos an. Ich kann es kaum abwarten die Kamera für meine Portrait- und Paarshootings zu verwenden! ♥️

bei den ganzen positiven Rezensionen mag man ja kaum was negatives schreiben, aber hier mal mein Eindruck. Ich habe mittlerweile meinen kompletten Nikon DSLR Fuhrpark verkauft und fotografiere mittlerweile nur noch mit der A6000. Für meine bescheidenen Verhältnisse ist das ausreichend und leider ist die Zeit zum Fotografieren auch sehr knapp geworden.
Momentan im Einsatz sind lediglich das kit Objektiv, sowie ein Sigma 30mm 2.8. Gerade von letzterem war ich so begeistert, dass ich mir dachte das 56mm 1.4 muss mich ja dann komplett umhauen...
Genau das war eben nicht der Fall. Ich habe das Objektiv anfangs bei eher schwachem Licht getestet und fand weder den AF besonders schnell oder treffsicher, noch hat mich die Bildqualität überzeugt. Für das Geld wollte ich aber ein Objektiv haben was gerade bei low light noch gut abliefert und keine Schönwetter Linse. Die hab ich schon mit dem 30mm ;-) Evtl. hätte ich dem ganzen noch etwas mehr Zeit geben sollen und noch ein paar Wochen länger testen, mit unterschiedlichem Licht. Für mich war es eher ein Bauchentscheidung. Bei diesem Preis möchte ich die Linse auspacken und gleich sagen können, das ist es! Evtl. war es auch ein Montagsmodel, wer weiß.
Für mich persönlich hat es hier einfach nicht gepasst.

Es ist einfach fenominal! Gestochen scharfe Bilder und Videos. Sigma 16 mm 1.4 fast genau so scharf wie 56 mm. Füll HD Aufnahme wirkt wie 4K (quasi). Gibt's Gefühl, dass die Bilder mit Vollormat Kamera aufgenommen wurden. Autofokus ist sehr schnell und Zieltreffend (gepaart mit Alpha 6500). Bravo Sigma, weiter so!!! Einzigste was mir nicht gefällt, dass die Farbedarstellung nicht so schön ist wie bei Zeiss Objektive. Aber mit Photoshop kann man leicht nachverbessern....Danke Sigma!!!

Tengo el 16mm y este 56mm y si bien cada uno tiene lo suyo este sin duda ha sido mi favorito por mucho, pues todo depende de el tipo de fotografia que te guste hacer.
Me he dado cuenta que las mejores fotografias y videos que he tomado han sido gracias a estos lentes.
Son super nitidos tanto que con buena luz asustan las imperfecciónes de la piel en las personas.
El autoenfoque es bueno mas no igual a un lente nativo de sony, si hacen un ligero sonido pero nada grabe, incluso podria jurar que gastan mas bateria que los lentes de sony.
Pero por la calidad del lente olvidas esas cosas con facilidad. Yo los uso con la a6600 y funcionan a la perfección dado que la camara ya tiene estabilizador integrado, que no es el mejor pero ayuda bastante y mas con estos lentes.
La separación que logras hace que las fotos y videos se vean magicas.
Si no sabes cual escoger no importa, no creo que te decepcione ninguno, solo piensa en que tipo de fotografía quieres hacer.

Sehr gutes Objektiv, meiner Meinung nach sogar das beste Portraitobjektiv was es für die Sony APS-Cs derzeit gibt, nicht nur wegen dem Preis, sondern auch wegen der Qualität des Objektivs und der Bilder.

Let's go over the lens
- Build Quality: nice steal body with one manualnfocus ring, which turns smoothly. The hood provided is not too big which makes sense for the focal length
- User Experience: The autofocus when paired with a Sony APS-C or Sony Full Frame (both emount) is flawless and never focus hunts at all. The minimum focussing distance is excellent (40cm)
- Picture Quality: the lens provides sharp images to stunningly sharp images. See the examples.
If you are a pixel peeper you would probably have one or two remarks. If you are not and want a sharp and fast allround lens this a lens you should consider.
When it comes to portrait photography the best apperture is between f/2.2-f2.8 in terns of getting the face sharp.
For streetphotgraphy f5.6.
For landscaping f/9.0 and f/11

Una de las mejores compras que he hecho. Excelente calidad de imagen, muy buenos materiales. Ideal para retratos y a mi juicio para street photogrphy. Para videos cinematicos no habra mejor compra. Si quieres mejor bokeh sin demasiada compresion, solo lo conseguiras pasandote a fullframe. El enfoque automatico es mas lento que el de sus hermanas de 16mm y 30mm, pero nada que te impida trabajar con normalidad en cualquier situacion. Si por cualquier motivo yo lo perdiera, me volveria a gastar el dinero en otro.

Super tolles Ojektiv, ich benutze dieses Ojektiv an einer Alpha 6000 und ich bin so happy, die Bilder im Anhang sind direkt nach dem auspacken, und unbearbeitet!! Mal eben schnell zum ausprobieren. Und ich bin jetzt schon begeistert. Da kann man noch richtig was rausholen. Ich freue mich auf den ersten shoot. Achso die a 6000 hat kein OSS das Objektiv ebenfalls nicht, aber das benötigt man zu 80-90 % eh nie, ansonsten bei evtl Videos nimmt man einfach ein stativ, allerdings benutze ich das Objektiv wirklich auch nur um Porträts zu machen.

Lente praticamentente senza difetti, ideale per la ritrattistica con focale corta. La focale principe per la ritrattistica in APS-C rimane 85mm, infatti l'ho presa per affiancare sulla mia Sony a6500 un ottimo Sony FE 85mm f1.8 (lente specifica per FF). La mancanza di stabilizzazione nel mio caso è sopperita dal sensore stabilizzato, ma in genere su certi tipi di ritrattistica la stabilizzazione non è così fondamentale. Anche la qualità costruttiva è buona, l'AF è adeguatamente veloce anche se non a livello dei nativi Sony. Consigliatissima, vale più del prezzo proposto!

holte aus einer APS-C Kamera ein richtig schönes bokeh raus, man muss dann sogar echt aufpassen mit dem Fokus
der AF funktioiniert einwandfrei, manchmal wählt er aber einen anderen Fokuspunkt, als man im Bild eigentlich möchte, da der Fokusbereich bei 1.4 wirklich klein ist muss man da aufpassen...ist aber keine Schwäche des Objektives, sondern eine Frage der Einstellung des AFs
Der Mf ist "dynamisch": wenn man schneller am Fokusring dreht wird mehr Fokus gezogen, als wenn man langsam dreht
das könnte für angebaute FOKUSPULLS ein Problem darstellen, da man nicht immer den selben Weg für den gleichen Fokus dreht
ansonsten mit Fokuspeaking sehr gut zu handeln finde ich

la migliore lente mid-tele per apsc esistente! superiore al 55 1.8 zeiss (nativo full frame)
il zeiss su apsc prende tantissimo dettaglio e in più crea molta aberrazione cromatica,
sul sigma aberrazione cromatica a del tutto inesistente... una lente da avere. strabiliante in accoppiata al 30mm e al 16mm il trio contemporary il top!

J'avais déjà le 16mm sigma, très content du rendu, j'ai voulu passer chez Sony avec un zoom standard 18-105mm ouverture 4 constant. Et j'étais pas satisfait du piqué, l'image paraissait toujours un peu fade surtout en vidéo, et bruitée dès que ça manquait de lumière (normal ouverture à 4). J'étais à deux doigts de passer en G master beaucoup plus cher. Puis j'ai découvert ce sigma 56mm. Franchement après mes premiers tests en vidéo, comment dire, j'ai l'impression que mes plans je sont filmés en 4k tellement l'image est claire, précise... Alors que l'objectif est tout petit, mais rien à voir avec les objectifs fixes de chez Sony. La qualité est bien meilleure (voir plein de tests sur youtube...).
Donc en gros pour moi le verdict est clair, c'est objectif fixe, et sigma. Vu le prix... Difficile d'imaginer mieux ;-) je suis ravi.

Tolle Schärfe,auch bei Offenblende!
Tolles Bokeh! Auch wenn sich das Motiv ein paar Meter entfernt, kann man noch schön freistellen.
Sehr gute Verarbeitung, nichts fährt beim fokussieren aus. Sehr unempfindlich gegen flares, selbst wenn man direkt in die Sonne fotografiert.
Einzig der Autofokus könnte etwas schneller sein.
Ansonsten aber ein tolles Objektiv zum fairen Preis.

L'obiettivo non è stabilizzato e ha gravi problemi di messa a fuoco su Sony Alpha 6300 e 6500 oltre che essere piuttosto lento. La qualità dell'immagine in condizione di scarsa luminosità è mediocre. Sconsigliato

Das von Amazon verschickte Objektiv ist ein Grauimport, welches nicht zu einer erweiterten 3 Jahres Garantie bei Sigma Deutschland berechtigt ist.
Ansonsten ist die Bildleistung des Objektivs sehr gut (Bokeh, Schärfe) und entspricht der gewohnten Erwartung.

Incredibly sharp lens, especially for portraits, but also for nature photography. Pictures are pin sharp, even wide open at f1.4. Bokeh is gorgeous, soft and creamy. A must have lens, fits perfect with my Sony A6400. Beats the Sony 50mm f1.8 by a mile. Don’t hesitate, buy it now!

Das Objektiv selbst bekommt meine klare Kaufempfehlung: Schneller Fokus, gute Schärfe und schönes Bokeh. Allerdings versendet Amazon hier Produkte, die für den UK Markt vorgesehen sind. Diese lassen sich somit NICHT bei SIGMA Deutschland registrieren und haben auch KEINEN ANSPRUCH auf die 3 Jahre Warranty von Sigma Deutschland, da diese auch nicht über Vertrieb von SIGMA Deutschland verkauft wurden.

Ergonomics- well built, strong construction and balances very well against the camera.

Colorado reproduction- Colours look warm and rich. Tones are beautiful, the jpeg images are itself good enough and won't have to bother with raw images.
Valve for money- I purchased the lens at 26K, it's competition Sony 50mm 1.8 native lens is just a couple of thousand cheaper. Comparing the two, the sharpness of sigma is remarkable. The Sony lens however has optical stabilization so it may perform better on A6300, A6000 at low shutter speed. If you own a A6500, undoubtedly one should buy the sigma.

BEST PRIME LENSE FOR PORTRAITS
Thanks to 'GOODEALS' for their aggressive pricing in comparison to other sellers. Thanks to AMAZON delivery service, for delivering the package on time. On SONY Alpha 6300, autofocus was upto the mark, excellent low light photography, since no IBS in my alpha neither Optical image stabilisation in lense while taking shots at low light, camera should be stable in hands for better details, else will loose finer details, better to use with monopods.

Great Performance at a Great Price. Some Autofocus improvements needed though.
Ok I'll start with the disclaimer that I don't have the Sony 50 mm 1.8 so no comparisons here.
Now coming to this lens. If you're into portrait photography or simply love shots with a shallow depth of field and a lively bokeh, you'll love this lens !! Especially at this price. Sure the Sony 50 mm 1.8 is cheaper, but this goes down to 1.4, which while good will also make your work harder as the depth of field goes down to insane levels. As with most lenses, it's a good idea to shoot a stop or two above the minimum aperture value. With this lens, 1.8 or 2.0 would be a good point. 56 mm on a Sony APSC corresponds 84 mm.. which is bang in prime portrait focal length.

The negative...well..only one in my personal experience is that the autofocus could be a bit better and bit faster. I've seen that the autocus, especially Eye AF, is activated much faster and further away in a native Sony Lens than on this lens. Just a feeling I got. I did not do any scientific test on this. Also, some motor noise is captured if you're shooting video with this lens in a quiet environment.
But overall an amazing lens at this price. Thumbs Up !!
Now coming to this lens. If you're into portrait photography or simply love shots with a shallow depth of field and a lively bokeh, you'll love this lens !! Especially at this price. Sure the Sony 50 mm 1.8 is cheaper, but this goes down to 1.4, which while good will also make your work harder as the depth of field goes down to insane levels. As with most lenses, it's a good idea to shoot a stop or two above the minimum aperture value. With this lens, 1.8 or 2.0 would be a good point. 56 mm on a Sony APSC corresponds 84 mm.. which is bang in prime portrait focal length.

Simply the BEST
I totally love this lens. The sharpness is just amazing and the photos look like taken in a full frame.
Due to lack of inbuilt stabilisation a lot of my shots are not in focus. Am using a Sony a6400 which doesn't have built in stabilisation either. So you need patience to take sharp pictures. For quick run and gun shots this is not a good lens prefer Sony ones.
Not so good for videos either. Autofocus not upto mark.

Incremental update over 30mm, but best for portraits.
Yes, a dedicated portrait lens for Sony emount after all. Although it's not a drastic improvement over the 30mm in terms of compression, the depth of field difference can still be felt while taking the picture from a distance. Definitely sharper than the Sigma 30mm f1.4 and any other native sony primes for APS-C.
Certainly not full frame quality, but the best it gets in crop sensor for crop sensor in Sony mirrorless.

I chose this lens based upon my need currently...I needed a lens that would perform at low light as well as to separate the subject from the landscape...Its actually a 84mm lens when u use it on crop sensor camera...Im using it on a6100...the results are really sharp...it is a must to chose lens when you are taking full portraits in a landscape. This lens jusy beautifully separates the subject from the landscape...in short it is a mini range telephoto lens for crop sensors...i would suggest this because...u probably owning a kit lens which has a maximum range upto 50mm if u r going for sigma 30mm or 16mm they will be useful for close up shots and wide angle landscape shots respectively...but anyway the range wont go above 50mm (1.5x crop factor ) in crop sensor... Auto focus is really good...no issues...images are super sharp...excellent at lowlight...can be used for close up and long shot portraits

0. Provide creamy background at1.4f but its doesn't give you clear image in corners at1.4f so use 1st point for overall clear image.
1. Super Sharp in 2.0f or 2.8f aperture.
2. Build quality is sexy (stiff) and hard, feels premium, metal and weather sealed mount, splash proof but not waterproof :p.
3. Focal length is tight.
4. It works on Auto Focus not on manual focus because of wire technology it has.
5. Focus ring work smooth when manual focus needed.
6. You dont need to do focus manually because auto focus is fast af.
7. Recommended if you want super sharp photos.

Good low light performance, far better than my kit lens. Good sallow depth of field when using wide open at f1.4 and still image are sharper then kit lense. Step down to f2.0 or f2.8 and this lens shines in sharpness, corner to corner!!

Must have!
Fantastic little lens. Absolutely must have for e mount cameras. Photo and video autofocus is very good on sony a6400. I only had 2 miss focus photos in the 3 hours of test i did. Bokeh is very pleasing. Build quality is top notch and the manual focus ring is smooth and gradual.

The Bokeh Master
First of all GOODDEALS seller is legit, initially I was skeptical but the package came on time well packed and sealed, now about the lense compared to 30mm 1.4 the Autofocus noise is close to none, very compact size, mostly metal built, awesome background compression hence the true portrait bokeh master, go for it.

"King of portrait" for sony axxxx APS-C
Superb quality lens from Sigma for sony.
I'm using this lens for my Sony a6300.
Autofocus works well,
EyeAF also working fine with this lens like native Sony lenses.
F1.4 aperture helps lot for low light photography.
Sharpness also in top notch quality.
Finally, one of the very best lens for sony E mount APS-Cs.

It's a bokeh master. Sharpness is out of the world. Unbelievable. Using it on my Sony A6400. I don't think any APSc camera can get a better lens than this for portraits

Good prime for outdoor portraits
I prefer the Sigma 30mm 1.4 to this one. 56 is too tight indoors and group shots. Its excellent for outdoor portraits tough.
