I previously had BT210 but I lost them and soon decided I want headphones I can answer calls and have some noice cancelling as well. As MM-450-x was relatively cheap in my country by comparison I decided to give it a go.The noise cancelling is nice. Lower frequency noise is much better cancelled, so in buss and especially in train these have worked really well, but people esp women and children talking does not work too well. Obviously the sound quality also changes, as bass gets weaker but I found out podcasts sound better in most environments. I listen podcasts a lot, so I appreciate that.Talk-through function is neat too. The sound is not as clear as without headphone and there is that unnecessary red light whenever talkthrough (or any function) is put on. The constant blue light twinking can be put off but the red one cannot. There is a funny aquarium feel but it's not annoying.Sound quality is mixed. I actually found BT210 (the cheapest model in the Sennheiser BT range) so I had a change to compare both models, which also encouraged me to write this review. To put it nicely, MM-450 sounds pretty balanced but not impressive. Unlike some reviewers, I found its sound good, even if bass seems limited. Not bad, but not amazing. But the problem is BT210 is amazing - its fit is better, bass is impressive and overall sound quality is on par with classic headphones like HD-25. MM-450 simply does not cut it.Battery life is actually good enough for one day listening especially if. Ot listened all the time and some time without noise cancelling and put off from play button pressed a few seconds. Note I don't play it very loud either and there is always the wire if battery dies. I found the I rarely needed it.However, I found a weird malfunction in my pair. They seem to make zap and razzle sounds when the earcups are close to each other, even when the headphones are turned off. Does this mean they are not actually off and something like the mics consume battery? I don't know but sometimes the battery seems dead overnight even after charging it in the evening and definitely put off as well. A Weird thing.Overall I must say MM-450 are good headphones and I love their versatility. However, somewhat unimpressive sound and battery problems prevent it getting a better score. For people seeking just BT headphones with great sound without special function I can say BT210 are more that impressive.

Ok, so I bought a pair of these refurbished from Dahmart initially. When I got them, because of the small size in my opinion, the sound didn't go as loud as I would have liked. I produced and dj'ed EDM a lot for the past 13 years, so my ears need that extra volume. One of the speakers would crackle when I turned them up too loud. I returned them without any problems to Dahmart. I then decided to just pay full retail and get a brand new pair because I smelled Sennheisers aroma of quality, even though I had not tasted it with these particular phones. Unfortunately I had the same issue with the brand new pair which obviously made me a bit suspect, but I own other Sennheiser headphones and know what to expect. I decided this time to send them directly to Sennheiser, describing the issue I was having with one of the speakers performing really well and the other one not matching in audio quality. I waited a long, long time for my new headphones to arrive (about 5-6 weeks) but, it was well worth the wait!!! I actually had asked them to try and repair the one speaker that didn't bump, because I had already had the same problem twice and was fearful of it happening again. They gave me the MM 450-X instead of the MM 450's I had bought (a slight upgrade from the 450's but same price I think). I believe the difference is that these have apt-x codec capabilities, and I have not been able to test this feature as of yet but am extremely eager to do so. I was pretty upset that they didn't fix the speaker as I had asked until I put them on and tried them out:) The audio quality is amazing now on both sides and I can crank them up louder than I would want for any extended time periods and they bump quite nicely for their size. When the noise guard is on the bass is there, its warm, it vibrates my ear nicely and the mid's and hi's blend with the bass exactly the way I personally would like it to. Being able to have them fix the issue was what made it worth every penny I paid for these bad boys. I thought they fit my head nicely, I loved the blue flashy light (which can be turned off), The small light weight, and super soft ear cups were a perfect fit on my ears. Sometimes I wear these for 16 hours nonstop with only a slight discomfort from my ear bending a bit. If I move the head strap? err... band from behind my head to the top of my head this goes away, but I never do because I honestly don't notice enough to think to do so. The BT range is good, the ability to put them in a carry bag along with my iphone my ipod and the jack to plug them into my devices incase the battery dies, is just another bonus. I gave them 5 stars even with the issues I had in the beginning because of the great service, plus I don't think that I could find another pair of bluetooth headphones for any price that I would fall so deeply in love with from speaker to speaker!!<3 My girlfriend also likes the way they look and sound, so I'm going to get her a pair of the PX 210's for her birthday. I plan on having these for as close to forever as I can, and I am extremely careful with them even though they seem to be built rather nicely. I have been using them now for a few months with no problems other than the defective ones I initially received. If I had to list the things I don't like, they would be that I can't sleep on the side of my head with them, although I knew this before I bought them so thats probably not really fair lol. The battery can sometimes be difficult for me to get out.

My main reason for purchasing this headset is peace and quiet at work, while having the utility of taking mobile phone calls, and naturally listen to music. My concerns is effective noise reduction and ease of use in my office and while traveling. This is not my first Noise Reducing headset, however it is the first with bluetooth. The noise-reduction is as advertised, good to great, but the advertised 90% reduction seems a bit optimistic. The headset have a slight "white-noise" background sound in the headset when the NR is on, more in the left side than the right. (control box and probably the NR electronics, is on the right side.)The so-called intelligent NR have a very different profile than other headsets I have used until now.Fan noises, AC, street din sounds, is reduced quite effectively, yet still enough is left, that you know what is going on around you.Voices somehow is reduced less, or seems less, than regular noise, which is interesting, because I find myself conduction short conversations without removing my headset.* Actually I'm feeling a little concerned about the voice thing, because my old headset was brilliant at killing chatting kids on airplanes and while waiting in the airport.. I fear the Sennheiser may not do as well at this particularly mission critical task.** The other interesting part is that if the headset is used in the passenger seat of a car, engine sounds are reduced appropriately, so is tire sounds, however wheels noise and some mechanical noises are not, in the end using this headset on a bus is not working as hoped. Oddly it seems to work well with sub-way train noises. My reason for picking the Sennheiser over the Nokia NR Bluetooth headset, is the removable battery and what I feel to be better comfort when wearing it. I purchased a spare battery but have never yet used out completely a battery in one work day, including commuting. The control interface is simple enough, with volume control and power for both bluetooth and NR. to be honest, the controls is not as intuitive as one could hope for. and turning on bluetooth and NR requires harder than average pressure on the buttons. Having paired the headset with my iPhone and iPad, it is now mostly a matter of turning on/off the Bluetooth on either and select the headset to use it.Having said that, I'm enjoy using the headset, the noise reduction in a office environment is good, and the music reproduction is excellent. Being able to pick up a phone call on the headset is simply brilliant.!While I know not everybody like this headset, as far as I'm concerned, it is well build, works as advertised, have good music reproduction, works well with a iPhone, and the iPad for that matter. the carry case is bare-bones, but does the job and I find it difficult to complain about that part, it is compact, and really, I don't know what else I would want in a carry pouch.

I was really torn about how to rate this product. I think I have to try to compare it with others in a similar "class".Noise cancellation: I compared it with my Bose QC15s. No contest the Bose wins hands down. I think the QC3 would have been a more direct comparison because they QC15s cover the entire ear, but I don't own a pair of QC3s to compare with. The MM450 advertises itself as canceling low frequency sounds, which it appears to do well, but distantly trails the QC15 in mid and high frequency -- perhaps because of the on-ear design. So maybe okay if you're on an airplane, but not so good for wearing in the office. I mostly want to drown out my desk fan, which the QC15s do well but the MM450 does not, so I mostly wear the Bose at my desk.Comfort and looks: Compared with the QC15s, these are way smaller. The ear pieces are about the size of poker chips, so I don't look like an air traffic controller like I do with the QC15s. However, I have a small head, and these things press pretty tight on my ears since they are on-ear headphones. I don't know how guys with average sized heads can wear them. I was expecting better comfort for the size.Connectivity and functions: Pairs up more quickly and easily than any other BT headphones or ear pieces I have owned. Connection is always clean and clear. BT on/off and noise canceling on/off both work flawlessly. Phone calls are received very clearly, and the people on the other side say my voice transmission is very clean, if a bit muted. Music controls work without a hitch with my iPhone 4s. I love the talk-through button, which shuts off music and has the external sound receptors pass through higher frequency sounds so you can easily talk to someone without taking the headphones off. They fold up so tiny, that I travel with them in a Sony PSP hard case. Great marks all around.Sound: Here's where I have the biggest reservations. I mean, this is what you spend the big bucks for. I feel if you charge Ferrari prices, you get compared to Ferraris and not Nissans. On the other hand, these headphones are so tiny, the laws of physics come into play and limit the sound quality. For their size, they are excellent. With noise cancelling off, they sound as good as any similar sized wired headphones at any price I have heard. (But are there any other $600 headphones in the world that are this small?) They cannot compete with larger headphones that cost half as much. And once you turn on the noise canceling things change. You really lose the air around individual vocals and instruments, and the mid-lows are boosted to a level that is difficult to compensate for. I was shocked, but with noise canceling on, the coloration is so severe that the Bose QC15s outperformed the MM450s. Even more so at low volumes with ambient noise, because of the QC15s superior noise blocking. That was a real disappointment.Summary: Overall, for $600 retail, perhaps unrealistically, I thought the MM450s would overcome their on-ear design and small size to produce world-bending noise cancellation and audio quality. This didn't happen. I also was disappointed with the comfort. But if money is no object (mine were a gift), these might be the best, small, on-ear, cell phone compatible, noise canceling headphones on the market.

I own a pair of noise cancellation headphones from Sennheiser PXC 250 II Collapsible Noise-Canceling Headphones, which i have been using since 2004. I have been extremely satisfied by their sound quality, convenience, and noise cancellation. The Sennheiser PXC 250 II Collapsible Noise-Canceling Headphonesare part of my essential travel kit. Over the years, however, the Earpads and headphone pads have been wearing off, and it was time I started to look for an alternate set, which would be similar in sound quality, and be compact enough for travelling. after extensive research, my focus narrowed to the MM 450, and the only thing holding me back was the price tag!!!I had been following this set of headphones MM 450 for a quite some time, and when I saw the price being offered through Amazon and J & R, I decided to quickly pick them up. Delivery was prompt and efficient, and the package arrived in time, and in perfect condition. The headphones are built very well!. They fold very neatly and easily into a compact form, which again, can go into the provided pouch very easily. The required airplane adapter, cable, charger, etc all come in the box, and you really dont need anything else. They are very comfortable to wear, and paired easily with my iPhone, and my iPad. The blue tooth connection is convenient, and the microphone works great for phone calls. As far as the sound quality is concerned, so far they are great, and seem like they are improving. The highs were slightly harsh on day 1, and as time has progressed, and as the set is burning in, the sound is becoming a lot smoother and richer. I own a pair of Grado SR 225i Prestige Series Headphones as well, which are better in sound quality, but the convenience and ease of taking the sennheisers everywhere is fantastic.Overall, a great headset, with really a fantastic list of features. Bluetooth, noise cancellation, portability, and great sound quality. I highly reccommend the set, especially at the 275 price I got them for. These are my new travel noise cancellation headsets, hopefully for the next eight years!!!

Updated, October 2010:I stand by many of the comments in my original review. First impressions were mostly accurate.I sleep with these headphones a lot, and they get a fair amount of abuse. So far, they don't show a sign of wear - well, not outwardly. And they have also loosened up a bit, and are not as tight as they were to start with, though I doubt these could ever be as comfortable as a headphone which enveloped your ear entirely. Maybe that's the price of portability. These cans are well built, and aside from the slightly awkward and less than ergonomic volume and shuttle controls, evoke warm fuzzies for many aspects of their design and engineering. But one observation has me moving this product into the "Do not buy" category, and that is the battery life. It's atrocious. The battery is so small, and so poor at holding a charge that I find them frustrating to maintain. I have enough devices nagging for a charge as it is, I sometimes feel as though I am running a daycare center for gadgets - or a nursing home. That these can't even outlast a fully charged iPhone say a lot. And it's easy to see why - the battery is *TINY*.I guess the good news is that the battery is user swappable, and can be charged outside of the headphones. So if you can get hold of an extra one, you could always just pop in an extra one that is charged. The bad news is I still haven't seen them for sale anywhere, though to be fair I haven't looked in a while.Still - it's a shame and a fatal flaw of this model at least. I think they could have doubled the size of the battery without bulking things up.----Original Review Below----Difficult item to review completely as I've only had them a short time. Let me start with the things I know I like about these, and then move to the things I'm less keen on or just not sure about.First, the very high build quality is what impresses me most about the MM 450's. Difficult to explain how something could feel so solid and dense without being heavy. The parts are just very well machined. They fit, flex, and otherwise feel exactly as you'd hope and expect from something at this end of the market. If you place a premium on build quality then I don't think you'll be disappointed in this respect. The solid build supports what I personally think is a pretty stunning industrial design. These are very good looking headphones that walk the line splendidly between being compact without feeling miniature or downsized. Although Sennheiser clearly intended them for travel they are comfortable enough - and sound good enough - to make themselves useful in any setting. The ability to use them as wired phones, and the ease with which this transition is made (automatically disabling of bluetooth on connecting the wire), is one of the more thoughtful features, even if it is a feature held in common with headphones costing half the price.I will quibble that they feel a bit tight to start with, and I must say my head is not particularly wide - so if you have a melon or a particularly wide head you might think twice. Having said that, I imagine they do get less tense over time. And If you placed them over a basketball for a night or two I suppose they would relax tension. It's probably better in the end that headphones start off feeling too tight rather than too loose. As for the layout of the buttons and controls for pairing, activating Talk-Through, and controlling playback don't seem immediately intuitive or tactile . i.e, difficult to locate. But I think I need some more muscle memory to build up before I can evaluate it definitively. The overly integrated, low profile nature of the controls might also be part of the tradeoff for the streamlined look and overall design, in which case I'm ok with it. Having giant "PLAY/PAUSE" buttons printed on the side of an ear phone isn't an elegant alternative. As for audio quality, the standard I go by when judging headphones is do they reveal details or aspects of music that I couldn't resolve or pick on before. These meet and exceed that standard without trouble. The bass tones and overall range are good and if you listen to music at bit rates higher than 256 kbps you will pick up the difference. Having said that, I have difficulty imagining they are are an order of magnitude better than other quality headsets that cost significantly less. They surely best anything you find at the low and middle segments of the market - but it's worth remembering that high end headphones from other manufacturers can be had at half the price. So these headphones feel, look and sound great. But I'm left with enough doubt and misgivings about the Bluetooth implementation, and overall ergonomics of the controls that I have to call off the wedding for now.The Talk-Though feature was a selling point for me, so I was disappointed to experience difficulties when using this with my iPhone. When connected to my iPhone it only gives me about 5 or 10 seconds of time before the audio automatically resumes playba

I bought these headphones because of all the features: noise cancellation, bluetooth, and the ability to plug in a wire to listen.Bluetooth headphones are great for listening to music, but all the ones I have tried have always had a time delay that makes videos unwatchable, that is when you want to plug the wire in. Also great for non-bluetooth devices or if you want to connect them to a device that you don't want to pair them to, like a library PC.The noise cancellation is very good, too. It emits a barely audible very high frequency noise though, and after an hour or two of listening it starts to cause a headache. This would be fine, but these headphones lack bass response when the noise cancelling function is off and I'm not sure why that is. Fortunately I don't usually listen to music for that long and it hasn't been a huge issue. Having no wire to get caught on things has been wonderful, though.I've used the headphones wirelessly on both Android and Windows Phones and the buttons all function correctly.Voice quality is very poor. The other party has a very hard time understanding me. Better than nothing, but if my hands are free or if the conversation is going to be longer than a few seconds I always switch the voice back to the phone.

No 1 problem - these headphones try to do too much with the few buttons they have. 'Hold the button down for 10 seconds to activate...' ' Hold the button down for 5 seconds to ...' In the end it's impossible to know what's activated and what is not. I constantly have to take the headphones off and look at the lights to see what's going on. Since the only indication of 'on / off' is flashing lights while holding the button down, I often end up 'activating' something rather than turning them off. Next time I go to put them on the batteries dead and I the Bluetooth or Noise Cancellation won't work!!! Very frustrating.Otherwise, they are OK to wear for short to medium time frames (like all other on-ear headphones they crush your ears which gets painful after wearing them for a period of time). The noise cancellation works OK, but not as well as the Bose models my colleges own. For me, no problem with volume being too low - they were plenty loud enough.Too bad, I really like my Sennheiser over-the-ear headphones? If I knew then what I know now, I would not buy again.

I got a refurbished headset from Amazon some days back and so far i have been very impressed by the sound quality and bluetooth connectivity of this device. Sound quality is amazing, specially with the noiseguard on .Comparing to Bose Quietcomform 15, i would have to concede that the quality is beter with bose, however that might be due to the small ear cup design on Sennheiser.Moreoever the best part about sennheiser is it's rechargeabel battery and it's ability to work like normal headphone when noise cancelling is switched off ( unlike quietcomfort which only works when noisecanelling is switched on ).In summary:Pros:- Great Bluetooth connectivity, easy to setup.- Works even when noiseguard feature is switched off ( unlike quietcomfort) without battery usage.- Small footprint, extremely handy to carry and store, lightweight.- Decent battery life.Cons:- Ear cups are small, hardly cover the ear completely- Ear cup design is not very comfortable.Over all 4/5 in my opinion.

Before I bought it, I'm expecting at least a good noise canceling capacity, because of it's high price. I'm not expecting a high quality sound, but I suppose it is at least as good as other $150 level Sennheiser wired headsets. Here is what I feel after 1 week using:1. I CAN NOT feel any noise canceling effect at all!!!!!! The noise canceling function even weaker than one of my in-ear earbuds!2. Serious voice leak!!! I use itune on a MAC laptop, use 3 grid sound at home, listen some light music, I can hear the sound when I put the mm 450 around 3 feet away!!!!!! As a noise canceling earbud, it should isolate sound from outside, and also ves versa, or, how can we use it in office, in library?!!!!!!!3. Sound quality is not even reach HD 558, which is around $150 on amazon. If I could, I'd like to return it, but all functions work now...What did Sennheiser do those past years! After PXC 450, no wired noise canceling headsets came out. HD650 is a nice product, but not noise canceling, and, in home, speakers are much better to enjoy music than headphone. Highly suggest Sennheiser to produce a real up-to-date noise canceling headset! I really like Sennheiser since 10 years ago, have bought lot's of its products, but it keeps disappointing me recently......

It is good as a combination product, which does bluetooth, noise cancelling, music, phone all in one. Individually, it is not BEST at doing any of the tasks. For example, its noise cancellation is no better than any $100.00 product, and my $5 wired phone headset provides better and reliable phone conversation than this piece of jewlery. The music definitely comes out well but other Sennheiser headsets half the price will match it.So it is not perfect but it is a top one out there in its class of headsets. Of course it is way overpriced at $450.00 or even $300 but because there are only few decent noise canceling headphones and only couple that also do bluetooth, so they have a place at the table. One major area of my interest is the noise canceling component. I am a commuter to New York, and struggle my way through trains, subway, long walks amidst jostling tourists on noisy streets. Mostly I listen to audio books so a decent noise canceling capability is a must for me. In songs you can afford to miss few lines or notes. You can guess even if it is not fully audible because you have listened to the song before but in books you do not have this luxury. Every sentence must come out clearly. In the past I have tried many times to replace Bose QCs but never found a decent wireless alternative. I have tried bluetooth noise canceling products from Sony, Luvs, and Samsung but found them worthless in subways.I compared Sennheiser MM-450 with Bose QC15, BH-905i and Nokia BH-905. I found its Noise cancelling about half of QC15 and same as Nokia BH-905i. I found BH-905 noise cancelling a notch better. I ran tests standing next to my heating unit, refregierator, walking through boradway during rush hours and a ride through the subway.Among this set I found Sennheiser battery to be worst but found it best in the department of management ( I asuume if you are looking for wireless, managmement of headset is important). They are easiest to fold and stow away. They are also the lightest. I can even slip them easily into my pant front pockets.Bose QC15 are the best and the greatest as far as ANC but not easy to manage, to wear or stow away. In a cold climate, managing a wired headphone without any controls out of several layers of clothing is at best awkward. But their quality, comfort is great and noise canceling is few notches above their competition. MM-450 competes with them in every respect but loses in the noise canceling department. So if noise canceling is your main concern, QC15 is a no brainer. The bluetooth functionality of MM-450 is good: the pairing and most importantly, it reconnects predictably everytime. I have been able to connect to iPad, an Android phone and a Macbook and it does a good job. The audio quality is comparable, if not better, to Bose's. Its noise canceling works in some environments like airplance, but fails in more demanding ones like Subway or a commuter bus. However, if noise canceling is not high on your priority list then there are other bluetooth headsets available for one third the price. To justify $400 on these you must be looking for both - a high quality noise canceling as well as bluetooth connectivity.

Grabbed one of these while it was on a Gold Box discount. I had hoped to use it as an alternate Skype / Music headphone on my PC and then with various portable devices during travel. It syncs great with my Android phone. No issues. Enabling noise cancellation does seem to drown out some of the background noise in my office. They sound good to me for what I'm doing.Sync'ing with a PC over a USB bluetooth adapter has not worked. It will discover the device, but Windows 7 complains that additional drivers need to be installed. I let it install Broadcom drivers but there's no change in functionality and the MM450s still come up as having an issue. If someone has a working Win 7 x64 Bluetooth stack for these, please post in the comments - I've tried a Bluesoleil and Broadcom stack. If I get it working, I will post my method.Sennheiser has a Bluetooth adapter called BTD 500 USB adapter, but it's another $100 on Amazon and other sites (Sennheiser lists at $59). I'm going to continue to muck with the bluetooth stacks and see if I have some other BT adapters around.EDIT : I was able to get a Logitech Bluetooth adapter to work.

Totally unreliable with bad service, switched to Bose after the worst possible treatment someone can get from a manufacturer of a `high' end headphones, I will never recommend these headphones to anyone.Overall decent sound and noise cancellation, loved the wirelessReceived as a gift, brooke down after 1 month. Returned under warranty refused since I did not have bill of sale, even tough the headphones where on the market for less then warranty period. Fair enough, paid 170$ to get a small contact fixed (fixed price repair no matter what is wrong, even the smallest thing will cost 170$!). Broken 9 months later, again !!! And I am taking very good care of these headphones. 340$ a year for maintenance is way too expensive.Gone to Bose. I am looking for a pair of home headphones, willing to spend 1 grand on those, but NOT Senheisser.Extremely dissapointed by this manufacturer.

These headphones do work with Windows Phone 7.5 ( HTC 7 Pro ). I have tried a few with bad results. I have been using them for a week now, and I love them. Wireless works well and controls are nice also. No more tangle issues. The NoiseGard works well, seems to eliminate all the AC hum at work. Sound quality is good, but not as good as High end wired phones. They also seem to amplify the audio beyond the max of the phone+file. There's seems to be a bug/s in Windows Phone where all video is played through the speaker instead of the bluetooth headphones. Also to listen to the radio, you must use the wired mode. These problems are noticed with other bluetooth headphones also.Cons:It seems to amplify road bumps noises in the car. Can't listen to the radio in wireless mode, must use the wire method instead.Spare batteries cost way too much, but so far have not needed them. They would be very good if the name wasn't so deceptive. You would think that with a model name of MM 450 Flight, that you could use them in-flight, but that's not the case.So props to Sennheiser for making a nice set of noise Canceling headphones with Bluetooth and Major Demerits to their marketing department that insisted on putting the word FLIGHT in the product name and implying that one could use them on a plane. Sorry folks, not in the US and Certainly not on American, United, Continental, Delta, Alaska, Virgin America, Horizon and JetBlue.Edit: They do include a cabled connector "for situations where Bluetooth is not permitted" So if you want to compare these to the wired Bose and factor the Bluetooth as a bonus feature for when it can be used, then you should consider that. I stick by my 3 stars because it's clearly marketed for a use that is not permitted, at least not on major US carriers.
