- + Тк диск был в подарок, открыли его через неделю покупки, на Яндекс маркете возврат в течении 3 дней,если я не ошибаюсь, короче вернуть уже было нельзя!
Я написала производителю на почту, они молодцы быстро ответи, дали инструкцию как отправить этот диск по почте, а через 1-2 недели новый диск принёс курьер домой :) и в этот раз Диск был намного интереснее на вид с рисунком, вообщем пока покупкой довольны !) - - Куча положительных отзывов,но через неделю ps4 перестала видеть диск.
Когда его подключаешь к ps4,если прислушаться,он начинает пикать ,хотя до этого был обычный шум что он работает! Но все закончилось хорошо!!

I've been using this drive for at least 5 years without so much as a hiccup. I wish that all external HD's came with an on/off button. I use this drive as a secondary backup so don't need it on all the time. The ability to turn it on only when needed saves electricity as well as wear and tear on the unit itself.Installation was as simple as it can get. Just plug in the AC adaptor and USB cable and turn on the PC. The drive was recognized instantly and just "works". It's a little "louder" than some of the newer models but loudness is a relative thing. The only time I hear it is if there is no other noise in the room and it really isn't loud at all.Unfortunately, I was not so lucky with a Seagate Freeagent 500gb. Using it on two different PC's, it often would not be recognized or would cause boot problems. This was a simple device with no backup software to bother with and should have been a lot better than it was. It would show activity (blinking light) even when it wasn't being used. Maybe a bad controller caused the problem, but one of my PC's kept trying to boot from it for no reason at all. Once I removed it, things went back to normal. I changed absolutely no settings before this started happening. It finally quit on me yesterday (good riddance) and I'm replacing it with a WD 1.5tb as I simply do not trust the newer Seagate HD's. I would have gone with another Seagate if this model was available with greater capacity.

A couple of years ago I was looking for some way to expand the memory storage of my old Dell desk top. It's a Optiplex 240 with only a 37 gig hard drive. There were some external drives on sale at Office Max but they were sold out. They gave me this Seagate 160 GB for the same sale price of the other one that had about half the capacity. That day I got one heck of a deal. I'm very pleased with this Seagate drive. It's just as fast as the internal drive of my Dell. I got into digital photography and that's why I bought it. There was no way the drive in my Dell would hold all my photo's. Since I bought this Seagate 160 external drive back on Nov. 21, 2006 I have used about half the space on it. I've never had to defrag it and it's still just as fast now as it was when I first hooked it up. I was surprised at how easy it was to hook up and start using it. The first thing I did was used it to back up the drive on my old computer Frankie. That's short for Frankenstein because its made out of so many different parts from old junked out computers. It had got to the point that it couldn't be updated any more and that's why I picked up this old Dell. All I had to do to back up its drive was plug this Seagate drive into the high speed USB port and drag and drop what I wanted to back up and save. I did have to buy a extra card with 4 or 5 USB 2.0 ports on it and put it in this old Dell to hook up the Seagate drive because of all the other things, scanner, printer, digital camera, & my iPod that all needed a USB 2.0 high speed ports. But that wasn't any big deal. Its been working fine for over 2 years and I would recommended it to any one looking for an external drive. After reading the one star review on it I have to admit that I have failed to back up anything that's on it. So that's the first thing I'm going to do when I finish this. Not that I'm having any problems with it! But just to be safe and not loose all my photo work. I don't know how it would compare with any of the other external drives out there. But for me, I'm happy with it. It takes up very little space on my desk because of the way it stands up. Its nice and quiet and most of the time I don't even notice it sitting there.

I had mine unit for about two years now and it still works like a charm. It can be a bit on the loud sound, but that is fine when the unit doesn't crash after only a few months. Since buying this, I had gotten two additional external hard drives (both Western Digital) and both of them have crashed, while this one remains standing.

ALL Seagate hard drives encased in the enclosure pictured here, regardless of the capacity, eventually will suffer from OVEARHEATING due to restricted airflow caused by too many wrappings around the electronic circuitry of both the hard drive and the controller board, which in turn will cause the HD to make noises and die. I purchased a 400Gb HD less than 2yrs ago, and it's already dead. To be able to get the data out, I had to PEEL the hard drive from the superfluous plastic and metal wrappings, connect the drive practically NAKED, to avoid overheating, sometimes with a fan blowing on the drive so that, little by little, the data came out. After that, I threw it away. It's a shame that, of all people, Seagate should know that HDs overheat, so I don't understand why they chose to design an enclosure that allows a very minimal airflow, and to make matters worse, without the help of at least a small fan to pull the hot air out and improve the deficient cooling of this unit. Don't buy any unit encased in this enclosure. You'll regret it down the road. Buy one with at least a fan to keep it ALWAYS cool.

I bought this hard drive to back up my dying laptop. My laptop stopped working a few weeks ago, and I bought a new one. I had yet to transfer the data from this hard drive to my new laptop when I accidentally knocked over a glass of water onto the hard drive. The drive shut itself off and I started to panic. I blew cold air into the drive for about five minutes, but then I just let it sit overnight. I was so upset--I thought I had lost everything, including my music, pictures from travel, and college work. But the next morning (about seven hours later) I plugged the hard drive into my laptop, and it still worked! I didn't lose anything!! Needless to say, I quickly transfered everything over to my laptop. But this is a great hard drive--it worked perfectly only hours after being drown in water. I would recommend this to everyone!!

Pros: USB powered. Sturdy case. Decent data storage size. Decent read/write speeds. I use this drive in the field (computer technician) and it lives in my laptop bag and hasn't let me down once in seven months of heavy use. There is a Y cable provided (One end Data+Power, the other end Power Only). So this Y cable helps out when your laptop isn't plugged in so you can pull power from a different USB source such as a nearby desktop computer's usb port or a powered USB hub and then you can get your data to your laptop. This prevents your laptop's battery from running down too quickly and also prevents you from having to unravel your laptop power adapter brick and search for an open nearby electrical outlet!Cons: A bit on the heavy side but it only lends to its sturdiness. Doesn't come with a power adapter (The power adapter is not really needed but come on, it would be cool if it did come with one!)Doesn't come with a case.Shopping Tip: Buy this case to cushion your drive for mobility: Small External HD Case Black, fits perfectly, zippered and has a web netting for the cable. I don't even have to take the drive completely out of the case when I'm just plugging the drive in for a short time. The cases also come in other colors.

I purchased this last year to back up files to, but it's become even more valuable as I have toted it back and forth to work on occasion or hooked it up to one of our three laptops and desktop on various occasions. It's worked great with Windows XP, Vista, and even Tablet PC edition. I can't complain. It does what I want and I have tons of space to keep all my files. Very pleased!

I'm just now reviewing this item even though I received it well over a year ago. I really like it except for the fact, sometimes you'd have to rely on both of the "Y" cords to power it. But when WD came out with the 80gb Passport...(which I still have & use almost everyday!) I dropped using this one like a rock!

We were lucky to find another of this model through Amazon (last years model), we own 2 others as well, this one is for my son's dorm room. My son has a laptop and the smaller drives use 1 or 2 USB ports (1 for info, 1 for power) to run them correctly, and most Manufacturers suggest using the computer's ports versus a 'powered hub' ports. There are other external hard drives out there that have more capacity for the dollar, but this one is built like a brick house, runs flawlessly, and doesn't have all the annoying built-in software packages now included on the newer versions. Seagate is the best, PERIOD! They have the best hub design there is out there which is the cause of most hard drives failures....no other brand can run as long without error codes or complete failure causing the loss of delicate information. We use it for music, photos, and back-up. Simple drag & drop operation....no formatting issues at all. If you can find one of these...BUY IT!

This works well. I did reformate the drive to NTSF. I needed to have a drive to back up my computers using Windoes Live One. This does the trick!

After spending some time deciding between hard drives, I chose this model and after about a year of use, I haven't run into a single problem. It runs smoothly (without having to connect more than 1 USB cable into my laptop) and quickly. Makes no noise and does the job as it should.5/5.
