- + наработка 4000 часов...первые 1.5 года управлялся атлоном хр - я и не вспоминал про существование харда (ну кроме как ограничение объёма). То есть в приниципе работал как надо

- + Отличная модель, не дорого и практично, не тупит не тормозит, в корпусе не слышно, без дополнительного охлаждения не греется.

- + В принципе,как и почти все модели seagate хороший,надежный винчестер.
- - У меня он начал глючить-примерно через 4-5 месяцев после покупки-создается впечатление,что шпиндель почти постоянно...

- + Нет у него достоинств! По опыту знаю!!
- - Жуткая ненадёжность, постоянные ремапы, шумность(плохой гидроподшипник вала)
И вообще НИКОМУ не советую! Мой уже почти сдох!

- + Высокая скорость чтения/ записи больших файлов. Тонкий, лёгкий.
- - Слышен свист при работе, если прислушаться.
В два раза меньшая скорость чтения и записи в сравнении с конкурентами мелких файлов (блоками по 64 кб и тд.)
Скорость линейного чтения тест показал ~110Мб/с, записи...

- + Скорость большая. Около 120Мб/с.Тихий.
- - На матери ASUS P4P800SE (со свежим БИОСом), работать отказался.На более новой машине (конфиг. не знаю) заработал без проблем.

I bought one of these a few months ago and can confirm that it does come in a SOMEWHAT sketchy packaging. However, the drive is within a plastic packaging which renders the drive itself immobile inside of the plastic, even if the plastic container is flopping around inside of a box. Bad form not putting at least some crumpled paper in, but actual damage to the drive is highly unlikely even though they didn't do it.I'm not saying don't be careful and opt for better packaging if this drive is REALLY important to you, like if this is going to go into a work computer. If it's just for your gaming rig/ casual computer though, and you back up your important files, I'd still go for this. It's cheap, it probably won't be troublesome for you. (Think about this: how often do you review your items when you don't have a problem with them?) I had no need to update the firmware, installed easily, and runs nice and quiet, access of files is speedy. Good product, nice price. Thanks.

I bought this HD a year ago, and the first thing i noticed was its great write/read speed. I'm still surprised of it!!! More than a year of home use and NO problems! Is very silent, no vibration, and again... IS FAST!!! Im thinking about buying another new 500gb.The packaging was amazing. I'm very happy with this product.

I've purchased 3 or 4 of these drives for upgrading the capacity/speed on home used xp machines that are 2-4 years old. I've read some negative reviews; ranging from DOA to firmware issues, but I have not experienced any problems whatsover. Replacing an 80-120gb 5400rpm drive with one of these provides an obvious boost. Great deal for the money.

I swore by Seagate until I have had 320gb,3x 500gb drives and 1tb 7200.11 drives all fail on me in less than a year. They offered data recovery services for some outrageous fee. They consistently delete and edit their forums to try to skirt the thousands of angry users of their drives - myself included. I smell a class action lawsuit on the horizon.Use these for backups - if you never want to sleep another good night.Trust your family pictures to these foolish hard disk manufacturers only if you want a shoddy product and even shoddier customer support.

This item was shipped the following morning after I ordered it. Took ~5 minutes to remove old drive and replace with the new drive. Computer recognized it immediately and so far have had no problems with it.

Unit is really fast! 32MB cache does a great difference. Most writings can be instantly buffered and then transferred when drive is idle which saves a lot of user waiting time. Also transfer rates are very fast. Very quiet operation (near no noise at all). Good price for big space. Can't ask for more. Very happy!
