Seagate Hard desk is the best Hard desksI use to have a lot of problems with "Western Digital's Caviar Green" But know all my problems gone with Seagate HD

Великолепно

I paid $150 for this 2 TB drive. I'm using it for data storage, videos, pictures, and music. It works perfectly for those items. You do not need to have a 7200 RPM drive for that. I have a 7200 RPM drive for my OS and programs to ensure those work quickly.Not much to review here. It is an OEM drive, which means bare, no cables and no software. Just calculate out your cost per GB with other offerings and get what you need. This drive has worked flawlessly thus far.

Ужасно

Bought two of the same drive (2TB version) at different times, one died after 3 days. Continuous clicking when powered up and couldn't be recognized. Thank goodness for Amazon's efficient replacement policy.

Великолепно

I bought the drive to increase the storage space in my file server. I don't notice any performance loss due to the low power feature, it sped through the drive fitness check a lot faster than I expected it to. It works fine, and I haven't had any problems after a month. It runs quietly (at least quieter than the fans in the machine), and no clicks either. Not much to say really... it stores a lot of data and does a good job of it.

I bought the 1T version and it started failing after a couple of months. There is a serious problem of quality here, as it seems I am not the only one seeing this.

Великолепно

I bought 6 of these to populate my ReadyNAS Pro in a XRAID-2 configuration. They have been running 24/7 for about 4 months now with no problem that other have reported. I'm getting a second NAS soon and won't hesitate to get more of these.

My unit was dead on arrival. Neither Amazon nor Seagate would replace the unit because I'd received it through the VINE program. Was it defective when built or damaged a result of the minimal packaging? I cant say but it doesn't really matter does it? Bottom line, if you order this product from Amazon the odds are good that it will not be in working order when you receive it. STAY AWAY.

I ordered because of pricing and good experience with seagate hd's but after recieving it ...had the click of death right away and then got a second one shipped to replace and the same thing only this time it had issues reading the drive as well once it was loaded with information. I would say that this is a product to stay away from...Amazon was great about it ...and I am willing to have a third shipped but they want to give a refund...I'll have to ponder this since it was on sale at 139 where or whatelse am I going to get at 2 tb to replace it at that price..ya know..

Both drives we bought failed. One within two days and the second within a month. "The click of death." Do a search on it before you purchase one of these. They're replaced easily enough under warranty, but do you really want to do that? And what if not all of the failures are early on? Is it likely to fail after the warranty?

I really like that this drive did not take 500 megs for formatting and that i got like 1.8Tb of actual space! Drive is a bit slow though. Wish it were faster.

I've had the drive for nearly a month in an external enclosure on my desk. It's quiet, cool and so far, reliable. Not sure what the other complaints are about the noise level, this is very low noise.

Drive failed within 24 hours of use. Started with a click then got real hot and then corrupted data.Wait for more reliable 2 tb hard drive to come out.

I bought three of these - one 1.5 TB drive and two 2 TB drives. Two of three have already failed with the infamous "click of death" - there are many many reports of these drives failing after a few months on Seagate's forums. Stay away...

Ужасно

I bought this drive and 28 days later the read/write arm was making a horrible ticking sound. Swapped the drive out and 25 days later the replacement drive is making the same exact noise. Needless to say, I am done with Seagate.
