I wanted to upgrade my 120 gb PS3 (yes, that's a PS3 slim), and bought this hard drive based on the few reviews that stated that this drive absolutely worked for that purpose. There was a little bit of trouble with rebooting the PS3 after the physical switch, but a quick search on the internet helped me fix the problem. Now I have a crazy amount of space on my PS3 and even though I'll probably never use it all, it is very satisfying to have it.

I bought this for my fat 60gb ps3. I looked around a lot and this one seemed like a good deal and a safe buy. I received it fast and it was very easy to install the hardest part in this process for me was backing up the data from my old ps3 it took over 6 hours. But its in now and im very pleased with it! It fits fine in the old fat ps3 and works great! So i your like me and really looking into upgrading your hard drive Buy it!

Not nearly as fast as my other 2.5" drive, a 7200 RPM Seagate, but this one is quieter and handles the double of the capacity. Would not replace a fast 7200 RPM internal notebook HD for this one, but it's great if you mount in in a USB-3 case: then you'll have a very compact 1TB portable storage device, indeed. Could be cheaper, but is reasonably priced.

I to purchased this hard drive to go into my Macbook. I originally bought the 12mm western digital one, but it was too big and i may have gotten a defective one. I heard from Macrumors.com that this drive was probably the best 1TB internal hard drive, as far as speed is concerned. So i went ahead and purchased it, and i can agree with the other person who has a Mac, this hard drive is quiet, sometimes i cant even tell if my computer is even on. It is even better on Macbooks because i get 999GB, while in contrast on Windows i would lose some of that space. And also if you want to have two hard drives in your mac, and want to take out your cd/dvd drive, this will work perfectly for you. If you are debating between other 1TB hard drives and this one, get it, you will not regret it.

My Old Scorpio Blue HD started to Stagger so i bought this one to replace it. A really great and a Spacious 1T HD. It runs really quiet. If your thinking about getting this for your PS3 and the price wont bother you then you wont regret this purchase.

Samsung SpinPoint SATA 5400rpm 8 MB Cache 1 TB 2.5-Inch Hard Drive (M8 HN-M101MBB) is a great drive. Install to my Toshiba laptop was a cinch. I kept origional HD as a backup.

For all of you who may be wondering how well this drive functions in a PS3, I have been running the Samsung M8 HN-M101MBB 1TB in my console for almost a week now. It acts as a perfect/identical replacement for my Western Digital Scorpio WD3200BEVT 320GB drive (with more space, obviously). I am running this on an original 60GB PS3. After loading up nearly 250GB of data on to the Samsung last week, it appears the drive performs just as good as any stock drive the console comes with. I have noticed that the console runs much more quiet with this drive as opposed to the Scorpio. A great addition for anyone looking to have their PS3 cracked out with a ridiculous amount of free space :)

Just picked this up for my PS3 and it comes in handy if you use the ps store alot, plenty of room for all your games and movies. I've also noticed that when I download and install my games at a faster rate too.

Fits perfect as a replace of a HDD!!! so far works perfect, you just need to use TechTool Pro 6 to do the the backup with the clone option.

The HD came right away just as expected. It was well packaged and the communicate was superb. I would buy this product and or from this vendor again anytime.

It is not the fastest by any means, but it is - at least at the time of this review - really cheap. I'd go for a faster drive for my notebook computer, especially with SSDs becoming temptingly priced. But these low cache, slow 5400 rpm drives are still ideal for network attached storage routers and other applications where the network speed (or computational task) is much slower than the drive is anyway.

Price was good, shipping was fast, packaging was good. Hardrive is being used in place of a CDROM in my Macbook for 2ndary storage to a Crucial 256GB flash HD. It seems adequately fast for a platter based drive and it holds a ton of stuff. I'm happy with it.

I installed this disk into my MacBookPro and compared its speed against 250G disk originally delivered with the mac. Here are results:Samsung 1TB disk write speed 70MBps, read speed 75MBpsOriginal 250GB disk write speed 40MBps, read 46MBps.I tested both disks with Blackmagic Disk Speed Test.

I bought it for my PS3wanted to upgrade my 160GB HDDreceived it in my mailbox, 2 minutes later i had a 1TB PS3 at my disposalIf you're looking to buy for a PS3, I truly recommend this (a worthy purchase)
