Panasonic KX-TG2730S 2.4 GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone with Answering System is a nice product and I would advise prospective buyers to go for it. If you are looking for a decent cordless range then 2.4GHz is best else if you want a very wide cordless coverage, then buy a 5.8GHz cordless.

I have been trying to use this phone for last 2 months and this phone is awful. The battery dies in no time and I lost connection. Panasonic should be sued for selling such a pathetic performing product.thanks

Is failing a few days, weeks past expiration of Warranty a Panasonic feature?Two of my phones have exhibited this behaviour, though I must mention that their eventual death were hastened by a powercut.But all my other equipment did not suffer the same fate from the power outage, but the Panasonic phones appear to be extremely sensitive. I'm now Wary of their long term life.

I've owned Panasonic phones pretty much for the last 10 years and they've all been great. When I saw the verbose feature list on this phone plus the 2.4Ghz range, I jumped.I liked the cell phone like approach to storing numbers, though the interface is quite clunky. Sometimes it's hard to figure out your way back to the main menu.Anyway, the main beef I have with this phone is battery life and construction quality. I've had the phone for less than a year and the battery has reached the point where it starts beeping after having one conversation on the phone. This is unacceptable. For some reason, the LCD panel has gotten so faded that I can barely read it without extreme darkness. I tried to adjust the contrast but nothing happened.Luckily I bought this phone with a 2yr replacement warranty at Best Buy and I'm returning it and its accessory phone to get a better system.I was very happy with the features but the promise was greater than the execution.

6 months! That's how long it lasted. The GOODThe phone is lovely, looks good and operated well. Nice features, built-in phone book was really convenient. The charge on the phone lasted a few days, no need to be constantly recharging it. I ESPECIALLY liked the VOICE MAIL LIGHT flashing when you have a voice mail message. Then with the press of 1 button the phone dials and accesses the voice mail account. A real JOY!Excellent range. All over house and outside. No interference with other equipment.Now the PROBLEMS:ECHO..ECHO ..ECHO..There was an echo with the voice enhancer. Turning off helped somewhat but then there was loss of clarity sometimes. BEEP...BEEPand an infrequent beep while talking making one lose bits of conversation.. Auto frequency changes maybe? POWER LOSSThe power went off when I accidentally unplugged the phone thinking it was my shaver and the phone RESET AND NEVER WORKED AGAIN! How ridiculous!I have another cordless, a Toshiba, I unplugged that to test and it continued to work after I plugged it back in. All the programmed memory buttons still retained their numbers. With the Panasonic, I tried resetting the phone but alas ... there are NO instructions on how to reset if the power is disconnected. The manual simply said replace handset on cradle and let charge for x hours. Still the thing wouldn't work. flashing lights and beeps! Amazing!I would have returned the thing but decided that I would simply get another phone of a DIFFERENT brand that actually WORKS AFTER BEING UNPLUGGED.My new phone, a GE, has instructions on resetting the phone if accidentally unplugged or power outage. 6 months and it is still working, and no beeps! Unfortunately it doesn't have the voice mail light. I really liked that light! So, if you accidentally unplug your phone beware....all may not be as it seems!

I was proud to receive this product initaily. It's works fine. Only problem, we have press hard on the charger to charge this unit. Otherwise, The charging light will not be on. The base unit LCD is very less. It will not display the number you have dailed.

I chose to ignore all the reviews about the lousy battery life. I wish I hadn't. I've had the phone a couple months and the battery is so run down, I can't have a single 3-minute conversation. It's just awful. I'm today shopping for a new phone and will never buy Panasonic again.

We have 8 of these phones and are extremely careful about the dreaded memory effect and they still are awful!!! The displays fade in and out at will....whether they are fully charged or not. We have one phone that will last all of one dialing fully charged. We bought new batteries for these and started all over, not charging until the phone was completely dead. Same results as before. HEY Panasonic...these are the most terrible phones we have ever had.

I PURCHASED THIS PHONE BECAUSE IT IS EXPANDABLE AND THE BOX STATES THAT "ONE HANDSET IS INCLUDED". THE MISLEADING STATEMENT ON THE BOX LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THAT IT CAME WITH ONE OF THE EXPANDABLE HANDSET.THE ONE HANDSET THATS INCLUDED IS THE ONE THAT GOES ON THE BASE UNIT WHICH EVERY CORDLESS PHONE COMES WITH.I YOU PURCHASE THIS MODEL EXPECTING THE EXTRA HANDSET THAT MAKES IT EXPANDABLE YOU'LL NEED TO PURCHASE THE EXTRA HANDSET SEPARATELY.

I am very happy with this Panasonic phone. We bought one for our kitchen and ended up ordering six more additional handsets for all around the house and garage. I like being able to program it from the base and answer with speaker phone on the base or handset-- very convenient. There are tons of features that I still need to figure out how to use! To sum it up, the phone is an all-around great value.

all of the reviewers below have got to read the instructions regarding charging the battery a FULL 24 HOURS before using the phone as it greatly affects performance of the phone both long and short term.Bottom line on this phone, too many solid features (handset speakerphone is a MUST have with kids) to pass up at this price point. Add to that the expandability to 8 handsets, this is a no-brainer.

I've had this phone for a couple of years now. The feature are decent and I like the handset speakerphone.We had a lot of trouble with the battery at first. It eventually got so bad that we started using the base to make calls. We finally got the Energizer ER-P511 battery and it made a huge improvement! I hardly ever hear that annoying beep anymore!I'm satisfied with the phone overall. Some of my complaints is that the expansion handsets seem a little pricey. Also the 2.4Ghz seems to interfere with the wireless video kit that I just got, so I'm thinking of moving to a 5.8Ghz system with an extra handset. However, there does not seem to be too much interference with my 2.4ghz DLINK DI-514.

This phone is missing Auto dialing facility from Handset. You've to use base unit for speed dialing. All other features are cool.

I bought this phone because of its features: Caller ID, answering machine and expandable. But sorry to say I agree with most of the reviews of this phone. When I'm talking on the phone the other side of the line couldn't hear me for half of the time. I use the phone the first when I call my mom who's oversea and she said 'Why are you talking to me on a cheap phone?' It's not fun using this phone when calling long distance when I'm paying for every single minute, not even fun when I paid $130 for the phone, not at all. After reading the reviews I do realised that the caller id always have 'incoming' call and yes it is slow to show the number that's calling. I'll sure to try the method a review pointout to improve the function of the caller id. I had not have any complaint about the battary life maybe because I don't talk too long a time. If I had read the reviews before buying the phone, I don't think I get this after all.

I originally bought this phone for a single feature - it is one of very few phones on the market which has a mute button on the handset. I work from home and frequently have conference calls where I want the freedom to walk around the house and listen to the call - but do not want the other callers to hear. All phones offer the headset jack - but most other phones only offer a hold button where you can no longer hear the call. Once I got the phone home and installed, I discovered some of the many other great features - a fully functional speaker phone built into the handset. It does not just play the sounds loudly out of the ear piece - but rather has an additional speaker on the back of the phone for clear reception without feedback on the front microphone. There is a one-touch voice mail button on the base unit which is programmable to dial whatever number you need - be it an 800 number or just *98. Additionally it interprets the caller ID name and actually pronounces it in a rather clear voice. I'm sure you could turn this off - but it is a nice feature as I no longer have to look at the screen to see who is calling. The screen has multi-lines and is clear. Another nice feature is a battery charge indicator on the handset screen.Only possible down side is that the handset is a little large - with a two inch hard antenna protruding from the top. But this is rather common on the 2.4 GHz phones.It supports a standard called Caller IQ which you can read about at http://www.openlcr.com/ - it's a nice information service - but there is a nominal monthly fee if you do not let them become your long distance carrier. This feature is completely optional.In general I am very pleased with this phone for the price and functionality.

I have had this phone and system for one year and it works extremely well except that my handsets go blank all the time. I have seven of these phones and all of them except for one has gone blank. The LCD screen comes back at random and it drives me nuts. I also dislike Panasonics support as I have had to deal with them more than once. You wait on the phone forever to get anyone and they aren't much help anyway. If I were you I would not get this system from Panasonic.

My employer purchased this phone for our salon. It began acting up about a week into owning it , and got so bad that we had to go back to our old phones within the month. It would constantly be "searching for channels" and would drop calls from clients! Unfortunately , she had thrown out the box, and we are stuck. I'll never buy this brand phone for myself, and I tell anyone I can to avoid it!

Horrible battery life. Returned the first one after a week, but second one was no better. Constantly needs charging and even then I'm lucky to get 1/2 hour of talk time. My old Panasonics were incredible - with regular use I could go 4 or 5 days without charging. Sadly, I don't think the 5.8g's are any better.

Very poor battery goes from full to recharge w/o warning, LCD screen goes blank all the time. I've sent this phone to Panasonic TWICE already for warranty replacement, and the refurbished ones are as bad. Extremely disappointing for something so expensive.

This is the worst phone we ever bought! The battery failed on us after less than a month. The rest of the phone broke a few days after the one-year warranty expired. The panasonic website does not even provide you with an appropriate customer contact to complain. This is the very last panasonic product we have bought for sure.

We've had this phone for over a year, expanded it with several others, and have never had any problems. The battery life has been great and no one has complained about not being able to hear us, etc. In my case, I would never even know I was on a cordless phone. It's strange that some people have had so many problems...but personally, I would have to say it's easily the best phone we've had.

I bought this phone and have not had problems with it. I don't use the voice enhancer and I don't have any problems with echoes. I have had good luck with Panasonic cordless phones and I will continue to buy their brand.

The people writing bad reviews for all the Panasonic Cordless phones must have a different colored phone. If you would read the details on each of the extension phones, for some reason the White Phone has a different type battery than the silver, violet, or black. It has an NiMH battery that can be charged without running down. The others have a NiCAD battery of which I can't figure out why. It doesn't make since to have one you have to run completely down. You should have full time usage of the cordless phone. I never leaave my phone off the charger for a long time. It's always back in the charger by at least bedtime. I love the phones except for that. I don't know panasonic was thinking about. They should make all the other ones good by supplying a NiMH battery and a new charger.
