While I am probably just a light user, I am constantly excited at how fast this phone loads and runs aps. No lag when I am typing, and even webpages load much faster than my previous phones. I never knew a phone could run this fast.
On the down-side, I don't like the rolled-over side edges. To me they don't add anything to the phone, make it harder to hold without accidentally pressing the screen, and just guarantees it will crack the screen if it falls. And it makes getting and applying screen covers unnecessarily difficult. I immediately 3d printed a tpu case with extended front edges to protect the phone and make it easier to hold. With that change, I am quite happy and miss nothing about the exposed edges.
On the good side, is the speed of course. Also, the camera is nice, takes good quality pictures, and really nice video. I recorded a 2.5 minute video of fireworks, and pressed the stop button.... I first thought I must have done something wrong, because on every other phone (or even camera) I have had before, the camera would lock up for several seconds before I could use it again. However, this phone didn't even hesitate to start recording when I accidently hit the record button again immediately. No lag to save a 2.5 minute video!
Like I said, I can't really compare it to other high-end phones, but if you are looking for a really nice phone for the first time, I have to say I am 5 stars of impressed despite the rolled-edge-styling.
Cameras are excellent, and this is coming from somebody who’s last phone was a Pixel device. I’ve owned previous OnePlus phones as well (OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 8T) and the camera is in another league. Way less shutter lag that previous phones, clearer photos, excellent portrait mode, and support for 4k 120FPS video (which is stunning). Optical image stabilization works wonderfully as well. A minor grievance is that I don’t like the Hasselblad logo on the camera bump, I understand that the two companies have a partnership but I’m not a fan of excessive branding on my devices (especially if it’s from a partner company). It’s worth noting that Sony (not Hasselblad) actually supplies the camera sensors for this phone.
The phone supports 65w wired charging and is absurdly fast to charge. 15w EPP Qi charging and 50w proprietary wireless charging are also supported. Personally, I have no interest in the 50w proprietary wireless charger (it’s expensive and gets the phone quite toasty from what I’ve heard) but Qi support is a nice touch for people who enjoy using wireless charging as a mere supplement to wired charging or for the rare event that you have a mishap with your charging port. Battery life has been slightly better than I’ve experienced on previous OnePlus devices with 6 hours or more screen on time before I feel the need to plug in.
Device stability is good, I have not experienced any issues with bugs, overheating, or crashes. The underscreen fingerprint sensor works flawlessly every time (OnePlus has the best optical fingerprint readers in the industry as far as I’m concerned) and is very convenient. Sound from the phone’s speakers is loud and crisp. Haptic feedback feels good.
Despite this praise, the phone isn’t perfect. For one, it lacks a headphone (3.5mm audio) jack. I listen to a lot of music, especially in my truck which has a custom sound system. My previous phone, the Google Pixel XL, had a headphone jack and outputs clean audio. When I connected my new OnePlus 9 Pro to my truck’s stereo using Bluetooth it sounded TERRIBLE. Bluetooth simply does not have good enough sound quality to substitute for a wired connection. OnePlus should put a quality DAC in their next phones and bring the jack back like Sony does with their Xperia series of phones. I refuse to be gaslit and told that a headphone jack isn’t viable on a water resistant phone; Samsung built water resistant phones with jacks for years and Sony still does. The inability to use wired headphones is also very annoying. I understand that USB-C to 3.5mm adapters exist but USB-C passthrough audio quality very rarely matches a direct 3.5mm connection (in fact, poor sound quality through USB-C passthrough audio and Bluetooth is one of the reasons I returned a previous OnePlus phone, the 8T). I’m going to force myself to live with it because I don’t have much of a choice (can’t find any suitable alternative phones with a jack that would work well on my network) but I’m very unhappy about it and will continue noting this as a complaint whenever possible.
Another thing I dislike about the phone is the ugly hole punch camera. I can at least praise OnePlus for putting it in the top left corner rather than the center of the display (corner hole punches are always going to be better than centered ones) but I still hate looking at it. The screen is vibrant and beautiful to look at but every time I see the ugly black dot for the camera I’m a little disgusted. This is coming from the same company that made the OnePlus 7 Pro, a phone with a full edge-to-edge display with no interruptions, notches, or hole punches. Hole punch cameras are such a downgrade from bezel-mounted cameras and pop up cameras. They are terrible.
OnePlus’ Visual Voicemail still doesn’t work on Mint Mobile (hasn’t since at least the OnePlus 7 Pro) which is very frustrating, especially considering I’ve seen OnePlus phones for sale on their website before! I would really appreciate if this could be addressed sometime.
The phone does come with some bloatware. You have the typical Google stuff which the manufacturer has no real choice over, but then you have a few other weird software quirks like the inability to uninstall the Netflix app. Now personally I use Netflix, but what if I didn’t? I wouldn’t want an app on my phone I don’t use. This is the problem with bloatware, it takes choices away from the customer. All this being said, OnePlus does allow the phone’s bootloader to be unlocked to if you want to root the phone or flash a custom ROM, you can. I really appreciate that functionality as it has become very rare on US model Android smartphones. More and more manufacturers have decided to lock their phones down and disallow customer tinkering. Thank you, OnePlus, for being a part of the solution rather than the problem.
My last concern is software support. While OnePlus may be better than some Android manufacturers when it comes to updates and continued product support, in recent years they have been slacking off. Browse the OnePlus subreddit or the OnePlus community forum and you’ll see tons of complaints from customers with phones less than 3 years old who have no longer been receiving timely security or OS updates. While I can’t say how good software support will be for the OnePlus 9 Pro yet, it is something I’m a bit worried about.
Overall, I think this is a great device if slightly flawed. If you need a US 5G Android flagship, don’t hesitate. Buy the OnePlus 9 Pro.
1) camera
2) display
3) fast charging( 30 mins) to full charge
4) oxygen os
5) signal reception
Cons:
1) it was lagging a bit while opening one app from another
2) it closes automatically sometimes
3) no standby in battery
4) due to curved display u have to struggle for tempered glass.
5) heating a bit with normal usage
U can go with xiaomi 12 pro on behalf of this xiaomi was quite impressive than this mobie.
and the screen was broken after 2-day's use.
Battery is average
Heating issues
Let me tell you why there are so many negative reviews -
1. Most negative reviews are fake. Check for verified buyers only
2. When people spend 65k on mobile, they usually choose apple or samsung. Most oneplus buyers stretch their budget to buy this mobile. Now when such people spend 65k then they want everything to be THE BEST. They literally have no idea what they are getting here. Apple or samsung could never give you such build quality, display, 65w charging, probably the best android software. I know 65k is too much but you have to understand that no other company is giving all this in 65k.
3. Don't upgrade to android 12. Whenever there is a new android software upgrade, wait for at least 6 months. It applies to all android smartphones. Early software builds are not stable.
I've received 1 OTA update as well which makes it total 7 for this device since launch.
1: The device is very premium to hold, it has a brilliant display and 120hz feels awesome. The issue is LTPO isn't being managed by OnePlus properly so you can see lags and frame drops at places since the display is capable of going as low as 1hz upto 120hz. Qhd is just love..!
2: Heating issues, Delhi is under a severe heat wave at the moment so keeping that as well in Mind I can say the device does heat a bit normal usage like scrolling and browsing or while I am writing this post the device is hovering in 34-35c region. Gaming pushes it upto 39-40 as well. Very rarely it has heated to such an extent that I have to keep it aside as I felt uncomfortable holding it in my hands. I've not yet received the overheating warning or anything like that. Camera usage pushes the temp up quickly and that with all the devices I've owned barring my Nokia 3315. Temp goes up and falls down as well fast.
3: The cameras are underdogs the color reproduction is very very good as a user a normal user you will fall in love the moment you see the results on the laptop. I'll try and share some samples and do a blind test and comparison with 3 other devices I have at home.
4: The speakers are fantastic brilliant stereo seperation and clarity.
5: Oos 11 is a mix bag and the less I say about it is better.
6: charging speeds : I'd like to address OnePlus on this and ask them to politely buzz off. All the claims of device charging full fr 0 to 100 in less than 30 mins are fluke. It takes anywhere between 36 to 45 mins for this.. you can check screenshot attached as well..
7: Battery backup: I am clocking 7 hours of SOT easily with qhd+ & 120hz enabled with some other settings like video colors and bla bla bla.
8: The haptic motor on the device is so fabulous that I don't think I'll ever be able to like any other now.
I tested all OS versions of the phone without updating to the latest Android 12 available on the 1st day. I noticed on th latest Android OnePlus has resolved all the issues including battery backup. I was surprised to get more than 7 hours of screen on tim from my device.
I still need to test the camera but I found most of the expert reviews are probably true. Front camera not that great. Rear camera is better but it need to be further software optimised. Why not use telephoto lens for portrait, OnePlus?
Overall on that day it was costing me 20k less than OnePlus 10 pro which makes it a wonderful purchase for me..
Update after 20 days of use:
9 hrs 30mins of screen on time and still 32% battery left. My phone is giving me 2 days of run on single charge ( i use slow 15w wireless charger to full charge in night) charge in night. And no heating issue.
I've used this phone for over a month now and here is my review.
Let's start off with the build quality. Its a beaut. In my opinion, this is one of the best looking phones OnePlus has ever made. Metal chassis and glass sandwich is pretty. Camera setup looks unique.
The screen quality is awesome. Immersive colours, bright under direct sunlight.
I've never owned a curved screen before but just one thing to note: dust easily gets in between the curved edge of the screen and the phone case.
Battery life is decent. I get to charge it once in the morning only. The charging speed is incredibly fast! You may purchase the 50 watt wireless charging stand from OnePlus through their store too. I personally find wireless charging cool.
When it comes to performance, phone's really snappy. Loads stuffs really quick. The main reason why i chose to continue using a OnePlus device is mainly because of software (Oxygen OS). But, the software has some minor flaws like lockscreen goes minimum level brightness when pressing power button (I've noticed this when I'm using the phone outdoors, I don't put my phone on auto brightness). Rarely the UI refreshes when i go to Home screen. I believe OnePlus can fix this with Oxygen OS 12.
I've personally felt that the phone gets warm only in hot enviroments (38-39°C). Otherwise its cool to the touch. I've played 2 hours straight on codm and faced no heating issue.
I'd recommend going for the 256 gig variant if you're going to buy this phone for the long term use. Within a month after transferring apps and some images, I've got only 50% storage left.
Cameras quality is fine... Didn't expect it'll be just colour tuning from Hasselblad. But they take decent pictures. They work really well when you throw a ton of light on your subject. Good dynamic range and contrast. The selfie camera takes poor shots in indoor lighting. Maybe it can be tuned in a software update?
Overall a decent phone rocking a powerful spec sheet, still undercutting the big boys. I hope you found this review useful. Cheers.
OnePlus has disabled the option to remove some bloatwares from Google. There are 8 apps that wouldn't need everyone and you can't even disable it. Refer the screenshot for the apps.
In my case, I didn't mention the Netflix app as I have no issue with Netflix since I am a regular user. But the all other apps are ruining its positive sides. Especially the camera. Getting better camera quality when compared to iPhone 13 pro Max. But the front camera is always better on iPhone.
No one can accept theses much of bloatwares to have in their premium smartphones when they're buying a higher end product from a reputed brand like this. I think this is the reason why still iPhone has a huge fan base even it's overpriced.
I hope OnePlus would fix this issue on the further updates to regain their credibility.
Lets wait and see what happens 🙂
Gaming: Excellent

The range of lenses allow you to take the perfect photo effortlessly. The camera literally breathes life into what would otherwise be a very boring photo. It adds light to your dimly lit kitchen, it adds colour to Sunday roast dinner and it adds radiance to you and your friend's sun-deprived faces. Portrait mode is an addictive way to to take beautiful photos of your favourite people or animals and save yourself a fortune in hiring a professional photographer. Video mode also allows you to take incredible high definition shots in up to 8k or slow-motion clips of 480fps.
The display is enormous but perfectly ergonomic. The range of colours you see when looking at photos and even watching films makes any other device or TV I own look inferior. I love the option of increasing the screen refresh rate from 60hz to 120hz which makes scrolling and browsing feel glass-smooth. Every variable aspect about the display can be modified to the users requirement. You can increase the screen resolution to baffling 4k or turn it down to preserve battery life. Turning on 'vision comfort mode' in the evening is incredibly useful and the screen still retains it's colourful glory.
A good battery is one you never have to worry about. This one lasts me a full 48 hours with intermediate use. Even if I were to run out, the warp charging cable replenishes the battery to full in approximately 30 minutes. You can get a useful amount of charging done in 10 minutes should you forget the night before and the phone accuratley estimates how long the battery will last. The enormous hard-drive means storage is something I never have to think about and the fast CPU mean loading times don't exist.
Everything about this phone makes life easy. More than that, it makes every-day tasks pleasurable and enhances things that are already enjoyable like photography and watching films. Worth every penny.
I analyzed lot of other options but couldn't move away from OnePlus and so thought of buying 9 Pro pine green color.
+ve points
1. Color is very unique
2. I simply love Oxygen OS
3. Camera is doing a great job. I dont agree with lot of negative reviews about camera quality. Phone does get little warm but not that bad.
4. Extra wide angle of 50mp camera is just superb.
5. I clicked lots of macros and its giving fabulous results. Portraits are also decent even in low light.
6. There is no lag what so ever while doing any operations.
7. Display is so gorgeous that everything just looks wow on it.
8. case provided is also good with the matching color.
9. Stereo speakers produce a good detailed as well as loud output.
10. Charging is super fast.
11. It feels very premeium in hand.
12. Haptic feedback is awesome.
-ve points
1. Battery backup is not that great. OnePlus should have provided higher capacity battery but its not a problem for me it quickly gets charged. If someone who has outdoor duty then having a power bank will help if the usage is very high.
2. Optical lense output is not that greate comparing other two lenses.
3. I feel its slighly overpriced and so lossing flagship killer tag. But still its less that Samsung S series and Apple phones.
All good except few below
1. Don't upgrade to colour os if you have experienced oxygen OS before. Colour os one of the biggest drawback.. hope will update in the future..
2. Hard to find good case's and tempered glass.
3. Variable refresh rate is not working in colour os
4. Feeling bit bulky
Many complain about the oxygen OS12 but coming from Oneplus 6 user for more than 4 years, apart from losing the oneplus dialer, contacts and messaging apps, It is still a oneplus indeed, The software is not that bad as many would say.
Overall flagship one
Could be more better.
It's just review of 3 days.
If getting it with exchange bonus with older mobile then go with it. I got it in 36k. And that's worth but will not buy if it's in 48k
I like:
Camera, display, build, backcase, speed of the phone. Previouslyi invested around more than 24 hrs to find a phone and this phone finally came at offer after 1 year. I saw many hate comments( maybe they paid 64k for this phone) and many reviews were mentioning the heating problem but it seem it just hate only. There is no such problem like heating, i don't play mobile games. Charging time is 30mins for full battery from 0, in village u might get more charging time.
There is no cons actually, if u r thinking oxygen OS is color is then buy color OS phone and feel the ultimate difference.
I am really glad I bought this phone and thanks to haters for writing bad comment and Bring the price of this phone down 😃.
Thanks to Amazon for providing good exchange offer during the may sale. Hope same price will come in big billion day sale so other can buy it.
Thanks
Pro:
1) Excellent Screen: 120Hz QHD+ 10bit Display-P3 LTPO HDR10 Amoled with 1300nits brightness infinity display is one of the best out there.
2) Flagship Processor: SD888 is just the best out there to do all you can ask. Like seriously.
3) Build Quality: The phone is made like a tank. It's strong and IP68 Rated. The back cover is provided in the box and the Screen protector comes factory installed.
4) Sound quality is very good for me.
5) Connectivity Options: The device comes with all kinds of connectivity options, like 5G Network, Wifi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC (for payment like Tap & Pay), Usb-c3.1 & OTG, etc.
6) Charging: Fast charge, fast wireless charge, and reverse wireless charging is just awesome.
7) Fast Fingerprint reader.
8) Minimum chin means high screen to body ratio.
Cons:
1)Battery life is little on the lower side because of only 4500mah battery and high power drawing CPU and Display.
2)Lack of the 3.5mm port means you are mostly left with wireless options for audio.
