Instead of ordinary controllers, get one of it and get in the game. The calibration is not perfect, but it does the job for this price.Recommended if you don't wish to pay more and get better

I didn't want to invest in a wheel and pedals that cost hundreds of dollars so the Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel was the next best thing. It is a little heavier than I had imagined but it's not that big of a deal. I do get a bit fatigued after using it for a couple of hours though. I find its accuracy very good and provides a much better racing experience than using the stock Xbox controller. That being said, I want to bring up its fatal flaw: it doesn't have all of the buttons that are required for navigating menus. I was playing Forza 4 with this and tried to customize my set up, only to realize that I couldn't navigate the menus because it doesn't have left or right shoulder buttons. This really hampers the entire experience, especially if you want to dig deep into menus. It's great when you're driving but crap at everything else. It tries to compensate for its lack of thumb sticks by letting you motion control around cars in Autovista but it's not accurate enough nor does it allow you to get inside the cars, which is a real shame.Overall, this product feels half-hearted and incomplete.

At first I was skeptical about getting this wheel. I like using clutch on forza to get the upper hand in a race.Unfortunately, I can't use clutch anymore. But I still use manual with B as upshift and X as downshift.It is incredibly accurate and surprises me.Personally, I think its more suited for F1.Still an awesome wheel

If you are a Forza player, and I would assume that if you are considering buying this that you probably are, you are in for a real treat with this device.However, I think it also needs to be said that you should not expect to be throwing down the pwnage on the track right off the bat with this thing. As gamers, we are creatures of habit, and going from control racing to this device is in no way seamless (at least, it was not for me). The good part is that if you can tough it out until you become accustomed to it, it will, without a doubt, elevate your racing to new levels of fun and realism.I was particularly impressed with the accuracy and precision of this control, although I admit the only other device I have used to compare it to is for the Wii. After using this bad boy, the Wii device becomes almost laughable.Like others here have said, the lack of having LB and RB is very annoying, and I hope that a solution to this is offered on Xbox Live so it can have total functionality.Other than that, I really do not have much of anything to gripe about with this racing wheel, especially at its relatively inexpensive price. I think Microsoft's hardware people hit a home run with this one.

If you intend to buy this to use with Forza Motorsport 4, and you are the type of player who wants to fine-tune the setup of their cars, forget about it. The lack of shoulder buttons prevents you from navigating those menus. There is simply no way to tune anything other than tire pressure (the tuning category which initially appears).However, if you do not bother with tuning your cars, or you enjoy simple arcade games, this is probably an ok controller, but I cannot say with any experience or authority, I'm simply extrapolating its performance in regards to actually controlling the car during a race.I've already printed out my return shipping labels, and this thing will be back in Amazon's hands in no time.Best of luck with your purchase,Rob

First off: the good. This 'wheel' is cheap, really cheap. And what you get for that money is great. The steering is direct, precise and lets you correct power slides much easier than a regular controller would. Getting used to the wheel may take a few runs, but after a while you'll start to get a feel for it and then you'll REALLY start to appreciate it.Now the bad. Obviously: the missing buttons. What happened in the design stage of this wheel is a mystery to me. Leaving off the LB and RB buttons is just strange. It's very inconvenient to mess around with two controllers because a game like Forza 4 has menus only accessible with these buttons. My second gripe with the wheel is the trigger used for gas. Holding down this button for a most of the time causes massive cramp. Not sure if my hands are too big for the wheel or that it's just poor design, but the angle seems off. This is where a conventional wheel will win easily; having pedals is way better than the triggers.In all, I think it's good value. I would love to have a better setup - wheel and pedals - but am not willing to spend that kind of money and I also don't see where I would store all of that stuff when I'm not playing. So I think this wheel has it's place in the market: it has its pros over a conventional wheel and regular controller.

It took a while to get used to using this wheel. Not all the function of the normal controller is on the wheel. So if you're looking to replace a controller, this will not work. However if you're looking to have get a better driving experience, this is worth the upgrade. You can better shift, brake and adjust the turns. There is a slight delay on the response, but you get use to that too.

I bought the speed wheel for a NASCAR game I had . NASCAR 2008 I think , it didn't perform the way I wanted it to. In NASCAR it's all about turning left , turn too much left then you have to turn right, a lot right . You will have to pass the midpoint ( straight up and down ) to correct the over steer. It does however work well on need for speed and dirt games and probably all of those types of racing games.

It's a great product, but 2 things make it lose 2 stars for me:1- Lack of LB and RB (left and right bumper or shoulder buttons on a standard 360 controller).2- As another reviewer stated, it doesn't add anything to the enjoyment of the game.Elaborating, I like doing races, hopping over to the marketplace, checking out auctions, going back to racing, etc. Without LB and RB, it's just not right, if possible. You'd figure for a product that was released to coincide with Forza 4, it would have included full functionality for that game. Sadly, no. IMO, Microsoft really dropped the ball by the simple omission of LB and RB. Sure, they're not needed in a race if you're not using the clutch, but they could've at least made 2 little buttons somewhere on the wheel to serve that purpose. Oh well, minus 1 star.About the enjoyment aspect, it just doesn't add any value to the game. Sure, it's probably more realistic than a standard controller, but it's not "wow" enough to warrant its use, especially coupled with the first star I deducted for this wheel. I've used the Driving Force GT in the past and that DOES add a wow factor. This wheel, simply put, doesn't. I, too, like the other reviewer, was missing a standard controller while using this "speed" wheel. Minus 2 stars.Plus 3 stars? It's probably great for arcade racers, but not for a true sim experience, and certainly not to fully enjoy Forza 4.

I tried this with Need For Speed Hot Pursuit. The wheel is not officially detected in this game or others. It was detected as the older wheel, not the "speed wheel". Also a major overlook is no bumper buttons! When I start the game, I have to log into my profile. But I have my Xbox live account protected by a button combination that includes the bumper buttons. Can't enter in password using this device and it locks out the other controller. So I have to disable my combo and then launch the game. Major oversight by Microsoft engineers who designed this piece of junk.Bumpers also used in this game for nitro and I have to remap everything, since I lose two buttons. Also no look left and right in cockpit view. Microsoft needs to patch all the racing games to work with this device. On that note, it does provide better control of the cars.

I purchased the Speed Wheel for Forza 4 and I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed. The wheel makes for a much smoother and more realistic experience while racing on Forza. It does lack the two trigger buttons of normal controller (LB and RB), so is only useful for racing and flying games that wont require those buttons. I haven't tried with a flying game yet, but it will indeed give you the third axis of pitch, at least according to Microsoft, and if how it performed with Forza is anything to go on then it should work great.

Hmm, racing wheel gave me a slight bicep and frontal deltoid workout. I like this wheel because my handling is %__tages better. I barely even drive out of bounds, some would say. The Wireless Wheel, the great invention since many inventions. Honestly, a piece of smoothness has fallen to Elandeyahnia. (The responsiveness is Abeninc-tahbullel.) pound-for-pound, considering the weight and wireless feel of it, as of this date, xx-xx-XXXX, this product is second to none... I've been a race simulation enthusiast for decades now and used a variety of wheel controllers all the way up to expensive force-feedback rigs. While this wheel certainly doesn't compare to a force-feedback wheel and pedal set, it is a nice, compact controller that adds a lot to the xbox racing experience.I have mostly been using the wheel with F1 2011 and Forza 3. After an initial adjustment period, the driving experience is very enjoyable. The wheel is sensitive enough to quickly catch the car in over-steer moments, while the larger trigger controls make careful application of throttle and brake possible. The major failing, as noted by other reviewers, is that there are no bumper buttons. This means I have to switch to a standard controller to make any setup adjustments in Forza 3. Also, ergonomically, using the wheel for more than a few hours causes soreness in the back since it must be held in front of you.However, despite the lack of key buttons and a bit of awkwardness, the controller really makes racing more enjoyable.

He loves it!Since I like the new game too, I've had a chance to use the wheel and it appears to be of good quality, feels solid and responds very well to movements. If you like the feeling of playing racing games with a wheel, then don't hesitate. Once again, Amazon has the best price too.

I give this Xbox 360 Steering Wheel 5 stars because it works really good. Even very small movements of the steering wheel are detected and move the game's car's steering wheel. I tried the MadCatz steering wheel and it did nothing for about 1/4 turn in each direction which made it useless.There are not many Xbox360 steering wheels around that work well but this one does and it is inexpensive. It synced up to the XBox console quickly and with no problem. It was usable in the Nascar 2011 game right away without having to do any special setup in the game.It will require some getting used to as it is free floating and you cannot really attach it to anything (although I might try to rig something up eventually). It does have a few issues with some games relative to what you can do and what controls what but overall it is a very accurate and easy to use wireless Xbox360 steering wheel.

I got the 360 Wireless Steering Wheel not expecting too much. In fact, I was expecting the level of control that the wii wheel gives. I was WAY wrong. The 360 Wireless Steering Wheel is so precise and accurate, it makes every turn that much easier and gives you much faster times than a normal controller. Now, I will admit, there is a bit of a learning curve. Just take this wheel into Forza 4 and go into Free Play / Quick Race and have fun. I am not sure how long the batteries will last tho. I have been using the steering wheel for about a week, and its still using the included batteries.Oh yeah, one more thing. The wheel comes with an installation disk, but it was not needed. The updates are included with the 360 update (one of them, not sure which updated included it, but its there), so the disk isn't needed.

First off I never enjoyed playing racing games on the consoles, I was just never able to control the car much with the controllers. So the forza 3 that came with my Xbox was left relatively unused. I then purchased real racing 2 for my iPad and actually found it fun. Being able to tilt the pad to steer makes it so much more natural to control. So I decided to pick this steering wheel up to try.So far I played with it for a few hours and really liked how I can control the cars similar to the iPad. I am actually winning races now and advancing more than the first few events in forza 3. I liked how it has a rumble motor at each handle, so if you run on the rumble strip on the right only the right handle shakes. The controls seem to be quite smooth and did not notice any lag at all.Improvements? I think it should be slightly bigger, felt it was a little small in may hands. Don't have forza 4 so the missing buttons don't bother me. For the casual gamer it is a really great racing accessory.

My Logitech G27 is great for my PS3 and computer, but unfortunately, it doesn't work with my XBox. I can't/won't race with a thumbstick, so I needed a solution to play Forza 4. I saw the Wireless Speed Wheel at my local electronics store (So-So Buy), and if I bought this wheel and Forza together, I received a $25 gift card. I originally thought you needed the Kinect camera, but the salesperson said I didn't, so I bought it!I really didn't think I would be happy with the Speed Wheel having been spoiled by my G27, but I was pleasantly surprised by its responsiveness and accuracy. Even the "force feedback" vibration added a sense or realism to the racing experience. I don't write many reviews, but I just had to give this thing 5 stars, which is based on its performance when taking into consideration its price and target market.Two advantages this wheel has over my G27 is that it's wireless and very portable.I haven't been able to locate the left and right buttons (it only has left and right triggers as far as I can tell), and I sort of miss those, especially when the Forza 4 menus require them. But that's my only issue so far, and maybe I just need to read the manual.Thanks Microsoft for building this thing.

Got this controller after I discovered my $150 Mad Catz steering wheel didn't have any force feedback (my fault not theirs), I got this controller that was on a discount at Amazon.This is a really fun controller, it has mild feedback and is surprisingly accurate. Just get yourself into a comfortable position and move the steering on it's axis in the air and the cars respond. I played it with Forza which has kinect support, haven't tried it with Formual 1 (2010) which doesn't have Kinect support.But it's a total value for money controller for racing games.

I really liked my Wii remote on driving games so when I got the Xbox 360 I had to get a speed wheel. The wheel feels very firm and works well with games like Forza III (have not bought IV yet). I do have one complaint and that is it does not have buttons for LB and RB. In most driving games that is fine but when I bought Monster Jam - Path of Destruction the LB was used for the nitrous boost. The game itself did not let me reconfigure the control therefore I can't really play the game with the speed wheel. Very bummed out about that. That's the only reason why I'm giving it a 3 star. For $40 you think they could have added two more buttons on it.

I bought this on a whim when walking into the local BB to pick up Forza 4....mainly because of the $25 gift card deal. When I got home, I gave up on using it because I couldn't slouch back on my comfy sofa while playing without getting horrible driving results. Well, the bad driving experience was entirely my fault due to my overly slouched sitting position I usually take up when playing games. The next day, I picked up the wheel again for another round of racing, but this time, I sat up straight at the edge of the sofa, which allowed me a full range of motion from my hands and arms while playing. This changed the accuracy and depth of realism entirely! I'm still learning how to use the wheel effectively, but racing hasn't been funner and more engaging than this. I absolutely love this little wheel....it is pretty disappointing though that the bumper buttons are gone. Bad design flaw on Microsofts part..it's pretty much essential to have them for the menu navigation when tuning and designing your cars. All in all, it is easily worth the $59 and should pose as a great alternative to the more expensive and bulky racing wheel configurations.Happy racing!

The controller overall is decent, I have found this to be a nice little wheel, with great control. Using it on the 360 leaves a lot to be desired with the lack of RB and LB buttons. But, on pc this thing does the trick, very responsive, and precise. Id give it a 5 star review, but the lack of those buttons mentioned before, kinda hurts it for the Xbox. (Note, an xbox 60 wireless pc adapter is required to operate on pc)

I agree with the reviewers who commended this wheel for vastly improving their enjoyment of Forza Motorsport 4. I am a newbie, and had the same experience, with none of the negatives. I was enjoying Forza 4 with a traditional controller, but wasn't performing well (and rarely made it to the finish line without leaving plenty of paint behind). Now, it's even more realistic, and quit a bit more satisfying.Especially while the price here is $40, I'd recommend anyone with Forza 4 (and probably other games, too) would find this a worthy investment!
