At first, it was good: I had a great time, and had fun. But then after 6 times of play for an hour each time, the vibration stopped working. It would only turn back on when I dis and reconnected the wheel. Then, the next time I used the remote, - believe it or not- it would disconnect itself every 2nd time I hit another racer! Finally, the next time I played the game (Forza Horizon),every about 10 seconds, it would disconnect itself. I don't even want to mention the vibration feedback wasn't working also. Overall, if the product worked for a longer period of time, I would've been able to give this product a 5 star and would've been able to be exhilarated by the wonders of this product as it did the first week.

This is an exceptionally accurate wheel that lines up perfectly with the in game (out of winshield) perspecitve of Forza Horizon. The design is similar to the F1 wheels used in real life, so it would likely work well with F1 racing games as well.I think you would be hard pressed to find a better or more accurate wheel (i.e., expect to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars and have a whole lot of gear that requires at least 20 min of set up time).Some prople say that using it over time can eventually make their shoulders tired, but I have not experienced this. Compared to the exercises that actual race car drivers do (like holding a 35 lb. weight in front of them and moving it like a steering wheel) this is of course nothing, and the wheel is not at all too heavy.Honestly, I am shocked at how responsive it is, and for ~$25, it is a no-brainer. This one is a blast -- highly recommend!!!

I played it on 5 of the most well-known racing games for the 360 and well...i would take a Wii-mote over this thing ANY day. It's gyro-senor can be too-easily "upset", hence, causing it to turn too deep and slam you into a wall, run you off a cliff, or into oncoming traffic.Sometimes it's sensitivity is sharp but it can turn (quickly) sloppy with too much of a dead zone and i'm using "fresh" batteries. You're way way WAY better off using a thumb controller or getting a ZIM Edge to use the keyboard interface (which is far superior in accuracy) than using this thing. I'm going to get a refund.After running it on 3 "Forza", 2 "Need For Speed", and a few other games it was a real disappointment. I'm sure less experiences gamers will argue but then they always do :)It's just not what they make it out to be.....not even close.

Bought this in conjunction with Nascar 2011 and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, both for Xbox. Does not work with Nascar 2011. It is very sluggish with NFS, and really doesn't seem to have enough turning ratio for the game. Car doesn't actually start to turn soon enough, and when it does, it's like you were taking a slow Sunday drive and barely turning the wheel. Coming out of power slides is the worst, as it won't respond fast enough to counter the skid in time, leading to multiple crashes and potential loss of digital player's life as well as digital bystanders' lives. Also, after installation, I can no longer use the left or right triggers with this or my original Xbox controllers in the Xbox menus (most notably entering pass code for Xbox Live account). I have not tried it with any other racing games, but at this point I can't recommend it.

As another reviewer had stated, I too was hesitant about purchasing this wheel. After not even 5 minutes of use, I was hooked. I love it. So much, I bought two. People voice concerns about the lack of shoulder buttons. I can't understand why they weren't included above the triggers, but honestly, I do not miss them. Forza 4 will tell you there are limitations to the wheel controller, but this notice has only come up for me when going to the paint shop. I don't really rice up my car too much with horsepower vinyls, so I haven't explored those limitations, nor do I really care. I would expect this to not work with older games. I think one reviewer put together a list of supported games. As expected Burnout Revenge is too old to be supported and that's a shame, but oh well. Pick this wheel up! You won't be sorry... unless you can't live without shoulder buttons.

Yes, you have to re-learn how to drive with this wheel, and you have to go back and grab a low end slow car and learn how to steer with the wheel, but once you do it feels so right.I was a driver level 52 and in the Championship series, and when I got this wheel I started over the whole game. Driving with the regular controller now feels like cheating and I don't respect any of my former records.the only reason i don't give it a full 5 stars is that it is missing the left and right buttons and the second joystick so there are things in the game you cannot do. you cannot work the paint center and the decals without going back over to the regular controller.all in all, I love it.

I love cars. I love watching them at the dragstrip, at the track, and even sitting in a showroom. However I'm terrible at racing games. I crash into walls on straightaways!I tried the speed wheel at a big box store and was happy to learn I can enjoy cars in video games now! The wheel is very simple to use and gives you better control of the vehicle on screen.I've only played Forza 3 and only had one small issue; there is no RB/LB for moving through the menus! You can get to a race and simple menu commands, but customizing your car and such are a no-go. Hopefully this is not the case in all games, but it's almost more of a software issue rather than hardware.Overall, if you like racing games but find a standard controller to be crap, buy this wheel. Certainly there are more hardcore wheels out there, but for a more casual experience this is great.

I picked up the controller last night along with Forza 4. I already have Forza 2 and have been using the standard wireless controller with it. I tried out the Wireless Speed Wheel with Forza 2 first since I was most familiar with that game and could compare to my previous experience with the standard wireless controller. The wheel is pretty accurate and the long throw of the triggers for acceleration and break/reverse are excellent. After about 15 minutes I had gotten used to it and already prefer it to the standard wireless controller. I then tried it on Forza 4 and it worked great on that as well. To be quite honest, the controller was better than I expected and for driving (and hopefully flying) games, it is ideal for someone who doesn't want a huge driving setup (and most casual gamers do NOT want an elaborate setup for a couple of racing games). As already stated, the fatal flaw of the controller is it does not contain the left and right shoulder buttons which many games require. I'd have gladly substituted shoulder buttons for the illuminated rings on the top of the controller. 99% of the time I'm watching the screen and never look at the controller so the lighted feedback is wasted. Navigating and doing some tasks were impossible without them and I'm simply amazed that Microsoft left them off. I give the controller 4 or 5 stars for the actual accuracy (and fun) of the controller but I give Microsoft 1 star because they left two buttons off that a lot of racing games require. If you can live without the shoulder buttons, this is a must have for racing games.Quick Edit: I picked up Midnight Club: Los Angeles and the wheel works MUCH better than the standard controller. Midnight Club recognizes you are using a driving wheel and lets you customize what every button is used for.If only Microsoft had included the bumper buttons... :(Here's my Forza 4 advanced wheel settings: Steering Axis Inside deadzone: 3. All other inside deadzones 0, all outside deadzones 100. Works great.

I'm a recreational gamer frustrated by the standard controller for racing games. The Speed Wheel made a world of difference and made Forza what it should be - fun and intuitive to control. It's amazing how much smoother lapping is with this controller. There is obviously no resistance to turning, but there is force feedback vibration. It is missing the the LB/RB buttons which can be a nuisance depending on the game. Anyone with a steering wheel & pedal setup will laugh at this, but if you want to step up from the standard controller and not spend a bunch of money, this is a great deal.

Buy this if you really want to engage in your racing experience. It takes a good while to get used to, I mean you obviously are not going to pick it up and be as good as you are with the controller, but after a while you'll learn to love it more. It gives more immersion into the racing experience without being as expensive as most force feedback wheels. I now have Fanatec force feedback wheel and pedals, but I still love to pick this up for some quick play! Would buy again!

Havent played racing games since Gran Turismo on the playstaytion. I never really like steering the car with my thumb it was just too darn squirrely. I did enjoy all the cars and the racing aspetc though. Years later I was seeing these racing simulators and spending money ididn't have. So I thought $500 for a full on simulator or a couple of Jacksons to buy this. I went with this. Couldn't be morre pleased. It's so much fun. Possibly the best money I've spent on entertainment in awhile.

Nice Product for Auto Racing Games. This Microsoft XBox Wireless Speed Wheel links to our PC by way of the Microsoft Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows. This "steering wheel" provides a great, intuitive alternative to keyboard control. Also, the "vibration feedback" driver software issue mentioned in some prior reviews has been solved. This product works great on our PC.

My son got an xBox for Christmas so when we decided to get my husband a racing game in February, we bought this steering wheel to go with it. We liked it so much that we bought another one a few weeks later for my son's birthday. For the value, this is a great buy.

Easy to connect and use, but I really find it lacking and recommend spending more to get a real wheel. I ended up buying this and the thrustmaster 458 wheel. Yes, I know it is just more than double the price, but I think it worth it to spend the extra as this only gets used for multi-player (and even then it is only 50/50 whether the person wants to use this or a controller) and it feels like a big disadvantage to the other one. I bought this based on a lot of positive reviews but seriously consider a wheel.

I primary game on PC, but I enjoy playing on the xbox occasionally. After picking up Forza Horizon I was really struggling with using the gamepad to drive the car. I'm sure if I spent a lot more time practicing I could have improved but switching to this controller really felt like it made a difference, it's much more intuitive. More importantly though is now my wife can enjoy playing the game too. She is *not* a gamer, and watching her play with this steering wheel vs the gamepad it was like night and day.

I absolutely loved the control this wheel gave considering the price. I have never liked the "on your lap" wheels as they never stayed in place enough to feel like I had full control and I don't have the room to buy a dedicated racing chair. I just wanted a wheel that I could pick up and race with that provided more control than the standard controller and to that effect, the Speed Wheel is perfect for me. My disappointment is with Microsoft's decision to release a controller that is missing core functionalities of other controllers. If this was designed by a third party company it still be unacceptable, but for Microsoft to develop their own controller that is missing the bumper buttons so that it is not fully compatible with all racing games is just absurd. Even knowing that I was willing to give it a try, but guess I still didn't research enough. The second deal breaker is the lack of any headset jack. So the maker of a console that charges you to play online and prides itself in being the best "online" gaming system, designs a controller that doesn't allow you to chat online. I rarely play games offline. I know there are Bluetooth headsets that could be used, but why should I have to spend another $50 to get an over the ear Bluetooth headset when I have already paid for a premium Turtle Beach headset? I honestly don't know how this stuff gets released without these features and is a complete deal breaker for me. I'll wait for the next version.

This wheel is a novel concept, but after using other wheels, this one doesn't cut it for me. I drive better with just a controller, than with this unit. It is okay device tho if you'd rather have something resembling a wheel. Holding your hands up the whole time gets tiresome after a while as well. Decent wheel for the price, but if you want to perform well in the races, I would suggest getting something else.

This is a review based on first impressions playing with the game Midnight Club Los Angeles, a mostly-unrealistic free range driving game.It installed easily, it works, it seems fairly responsive itself, I think, but our experience, playing this game anyway, was pretty bad:We turned down the sensitivity setting the game provides, but even so, it was very difficult to drive with, even compared to using the standard 360 controller, which is pretty clumsy with this game but is much easier than using this "Wireless Speed Wheel". The problem we had was that it was almost impossible to control the game in the ways it requires - i.e., to drive mostly straight with control of where you are going, to make routine turns, and to race or maneuver aggressively. It seems very hard to get fine responsive small control, and the response to turns seemed to be very laggy, so it would oversteer left and trying to correct it would make it oversteer right, snaking wildly back and forth, as if the effect of turning the control was either delayed, or slowly turning the virtual car's wheel position instead of allowing it to be yanked quickly.I don't know how much of that experience could theoretically be different in other games programmed differently. As someone who has done game UI programming, I can imagine it might be possible to code a game so that it would be much more playable with this controller, but this game certainly wasn't. I.e., I think the hardware may be sensitive and responsive enough, but the game may just not be programmed in a way that works with it well, at all. So there might be some game(s) that would work well with it.Also, for the game in question, X is "nitrous boost", and although the Speed Wheel has an X button, for some reason it was not making nitrous work in the game. Kind of weird.As another reviewer wrote, playing with this controller made us want to go back to using the standard controller, which worked far better with our game of interest.

I tried this steering some time ago at best buy....and was impressed but did not want to pay 60$ for it....and waited till now....for 30$ it is an unbelievable value of money...The quality is incredible....to have it and just stare at it at your home it feels and looks way different than a mall...The responsiveness is almost 100% but needs getting used to it to perfect your moves...I love it and I have it on display like a piece of ART....Highly recommended....

I am a racing fanatic and love almost all sports. The forza games are my favorite. I was really disappointed with the speed wheel. After playing so many hours with the regular controller, I found the responsiveness of the speed wheel to be really sluggish. You couldn't corner nearly as tight or recover from a slide. In conclusion, if you want top performance from your controller, do not buy this.

Everything is on key, the setup is quick and easy, and it came very quick!! The next day!! The only drawback is the removal of the right bumper (RB) and the left bumper (LB)

I gave this device 5 stars because it is exactly what I expected and the price is good compared to what it is in the store. It was pretty easy to connect, just follow the directions. I use it to play need for speed it has a decent feel to it.

Received this xbox 360 wireless speed wheel after Amazon made a mistake in an xbox 360 250GB system advertisement. That's why I like shopping at Amazon.com, they make right whatever is wrong regardless of whose at fault. Amazon sent me the wheel as an apology for the incorrect advertisement and I can tell you, I haven't put the wheel down! Using it while playing Project Gotham 4, or Forza Horizon, it is fantastic!. Responsive, light-weight, rumbles, and has cool lights at the ends that light up when you press or the controller rumbles.Highly Recommended!!!

The Speed Wheel works well. I would like to see more involved button mapping. It has no bumber buttons which hurts functionality I did find a setup that works for my driving style.The biggest annoyance is switching form the Speed Wheel to the regular controller in the "tune setup" area on Forza 3 and 4. A simple change of the D-pad could fix this.

I purchased this wheel to play with both Forza 4 and Forza Horizon and must say it's amazing. I have read some very in depth reviews regarding its performance and generally agree with them all, but wanted to add something I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere: you do not have to hold the wheel with arms locked out in front of you. The wheel does not have to be parallel to the TV. It can be held at any angle to the TV (even perpendicular, think of a tray on your lap). Response times are equal regardless of orientation to the TV. It's a great starter wheel!

I am surprisingly delighted about this wireless wheel. I purchased it for $19.99 from Lightning Deal. The controller is really well-built and its 1:1 control is spot on and responsive. I have only played it with Forza Horizon and it really added to the driving experience. A superb upgrade from the regular controller. I can't compare it to any feedback wheel set up but at its price point, it's a great addition.The only minor complaint I have is the lack of bumper buttons and voice/headset plug. A small dent in an otherwise fantastic controller. Still a 5-star purchase in my book.

I bought this because I have a WII steering wheel and it makes the driving games more enjoyable. The XBox steering wheel does exactly the opposite. Turning the wheel just a little has no effect and then turning it a little farther sends the car out of control. After running a couple of races with the steering wheel and coming in last place on tracks I come in first with the standard controller, I ditched the steering wheel. Maybe the grandkids can use it but for serious racers it's a waste of money.

This was a great controller until I had to make different selections while playing Forza and it doesn't have any ability, that I know of, to make certain selections so I couldn't use this controller alone. I had to have the regular controller to go through the differnet bits of upgrades and other selection heavy fields. Driving took some getting used to but it works great!

i tried this out few months ago in a local electronic store and i liked it then, but wasnt impressed by the game it was on and the price, so i did not get it then.fast foward to present time, brought the new forza (it was on sale during the black friday week) and i saw this on sale also. so brought bothboth arrived on time no damage and i loved it. it works just like those fancy ones on the ps3. and 1st day i put the game in i ended up playing the game with this controller for 5 hours straight

unlike my teenage son i do not have the nimble familiarity with the xbox controller to drive f1 cars easily...always found corners hard to take. this wheel really helps me. response is accurate and i am comfortable holding the wheel resting it on my lap for steady straight driving. The accelerator button is really good and you can progressively control it better than on the xbox controller. i do miss the bumper buttons for view change while in game but i rarely used that anyway. also would be perfect if you could put a rechargeable battery pack in but rechargeable AA's will work fine. at $29.99 this is a great value and i recommend it.

I recently purchased the Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel. My first impression of this product was that it had everythiing I would need in a racing wheel. I still have this impression. It keeps up with all of my racing games for Xbox and is a lot easier to use than the joy stick on the Xbox controller. I also like that the wheel is a controller in itself, you do not need to connect any other controller to the wheel for it to be able to work. When you push down the bottons on the back on the right and left side, there is a green light on the top that lights up and shows you which button you are pressing. This is one feature that goes above and beyond what I was expecting.The controller is also very comfortable to hold in the hand and the packaging was excellent. I would change the four way control pad on the top left side of the controller to a joy stick in case one would want to switch from using a joy stick to the wheel without switching remotes. Otherwise, this is a fantastic product and I would highly recomend it.

This wireless wheel adds a great deal of fun to a racing game. I bought this wheel to use with F1 2011 and what a blast this game is to play with the wheel as opposed to a regular controller. The steering control feels more natural/realistic and this makes playing a lot more fun. I plan on trying this wireless wheel with Forza 3 and a Need for Speed Game and will update my review after.I know that this controller lacks shoulder buttons there have been a number of reviews complaining as such. It's inconvenient for sure but by no means a deal breaker. My laps times in F1 2011 keep getting better as I spent more time with the game using this wheel.I've not had a lot of luck with steering wheel/floor pedal sets so I decided to true the Microsoft Wireless Wheel. The wireless wheel feels more natural and responsive to me than any other steering wheels I've tried and is a quite bit more affordable. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Overall, this wheel is a great addition for playing driving games. Reaction and precision are great, and the triggers for gas and brake have great feel. Solid construction. The only shortcoming is the curious design choice to leave off a number of the buttons from conventional XBox controller, which, even on driving games, can be a bit of a nuisance, even if the game allows you to remap commands to different buttons.

The steering wheel reacts very slowly when attempting to center the wheels. I use the racing wheel on Forza but it seems very incompatible. My lap times with a controller are much faster.

let me preface with this review with me being an average to good driver (no pro but i pretty well online). I've always used a normal controller so i thought id buy this to get a new experience. boy i really got what i asked for. Having never used a wheel of any sort other than on a real car, i was not used to this at all. the first time i used it i was awful with it. i started using slower cars and that helped. i feel like you have to use simulator steering otherwise i felt really held back. Since im more used to a real steering wheel, there were 2 noticeable differences. first, you only have to turn it about 90 degrees to get it to turn maximum. the other is the wheel doesnt self right (obviously). the self righting was a big issue because i'd turn but keep it turn. obviously after some practice i got used to it. I dont know how but i still find that if i lose control its easier to regain control on a normal controller... My times arent as good as compared to a controller but they're getting there. Also it requires a lot more focus using this thing and if you dont have something to rest your elbows on your arms can get a bit tired after a few hours of use. i also didnt see anyone else mention this but, it requires 2 AA batteries and you cant use an normal controllers battery pack. there is only 2 slots below the center bit for batteries.I will update this after i get fully used to it.After having used it enough, I would recommend this only for fun. You could use it competitively for slower cars only (up to maybe class A or S for Forza 4) but with fast cars it takes a lot longer to move the wheel than you fingers on a controller. The wheel doesnt seem to turn as quick as a controller. So overall this is something fun to have but not something for the competitive driver.

It's fun at first but it is overly sensitive and you get tire of holding it after a few minutes. I do much better with the standard controller.
