This is plagued by technical faults. The unit intermittently does not produce any sound. Speakers are fine, CD, radio etc play, just no output.

Nice and well sounding. To little power for my speakers and listening room, so I feed it to a NAD C356BEE. The Marantz smartphone app need a makeover - specially the Spotify controle app is not very good. I would give a 5 star rating if the M-CR610 had Spotify Connect.

A really nice piece of kit, just a few things it could do with improvement on, perhaps for the next model.
1) The sound quality isn't what I've come to expect from Marantz. Pumping out through my speakers it doesn't match my old Marantz PM57 amp nor does the CD quality (direct through headphones for example) match the Marantz CD63SE either.
2) Buttons, switches or knobs on the unit to select input please. Scrolling through that on-screen selector is a pain. Bass / Treble to be physically on the machine too, rather than just menu selectable.
If you're ordering this to replace an amp from the past, as I have, then expect to be pleasantly surprised but not wow'd.

I do love this system! I'll write a fuller review later, however for now I have a problem.
The CD function has a very loud mechanical clicking noise whenever switched to that function. I am to understand it will be replaced since I have only had it one day.
Here's the problem. The internet team do not pick up the phone. I have tried 30-50 times this morning, nobody there. I know the internet team is probably an offshoot of the main Richer Sounds teams, that said I picked Richer Sounds for their exceptional customer service given my past history with them.
This as a FAIL at this particular hurdle. Communication is impossible.

Quality of sound not as crystal clear as my previous AB class amplifier, I would say. But a friend of mine told me that C class amplifiers need a certain period of time before performing to their best. Otherwise, it is a great amplifier from the functionalities point of view.

This is a super little box. I am no audio expert, the last time I bought serious audio equipment was about 15 years ago, and then I bought Philips, which was a high quality product (for the mid range). I have a large collection of Vinyl recordings, CD's, and loads of music on my harddisk in varying formats. This little beauty manages all perfectly and the sound is superb. I am still using my old speakers with it. The setup was slightly awkward, but once I got used to it I don't have any problems. It all works as it says it should. Only slight glitch is that the wifi connection drops every time I turn it off, then you have to run through setup again (unless I have not found a quicker way). I guess this would not be a problem with a wired connection. With the 2 available "analog in" sockets, 1 used by my turntable for the Vinyls, all I need now is a cassette player for old recordings made years ago, then it can handle all the recorded music I have. I love it.

Orders on Friday delivery on Tuesday, have just tried the CD, DAB with indoor aerial (will use a loft aerial at some stage) iPod via front USB all worked fine

The Firmware update released on 22nd Jan 2015 stops both of the Marantz Remote Control apps from working, either on Kindle or Android.

very difficult to put password in for internet and you have to do it again and again if power failure .also aerial not substantial enough not good quality . Do not put anywhere near a dimmer switch in your house or you will lose signal

I bought this item last year as I wanted a single receiver that also had internet radio, DAB and FM. As I'm a heavy listener to internet radio stations.
I initially wasn't too pleased with its performance as it had severe problems retaining stations I was listening to whenever one of my other appliances made intermittent heavy use of the internet. It would then loose connection to the internet altogether until I eventually switched the radio as well as my broadband router on and off. This was definitely abysmal performance compared to my previous internet radio which never showed such glitches.
However after a couple of recent firmware upgrades it seems that the engineers at Marantz have finally produced a much more stable version that have rectified these problems. It's now a pleasure to seamlessly switch between local DAB radio and foreign radio stations all having the same audio quality.

Very nice. I've paired it with some Bowers and Wilkins 685s after hours of demos and frankly it's the best system I've ever had.
It works very well with Airplay, so I generally use my Macbookpro to stream via wifi with lossless ALACs on iTunes either controlled directly on the Mac, or controlling the Mac via iTunes remote app on an iPhone. The Marantz remote control (hardware) also controls iTunes on the Mac when connected via Airplay. Finally, the Marantz app also can control it also, so there are many different ways to control streaming music, all simultaneously.
The internet radio function is good, and allows various ways of searching for stations either by location, genre, keyword etc.
CD works well, loads quickly etc and sounds good....but with so many streaming options, CDs are best to be ripped to files and accessed via USB or streaming.
It's compact and subtle, which I like in a system, and is very intuitive to use.
I was initially very surprised it didn't have bluetooth, but via Airplay, the Marantz or iTunes Remote app and the other streaming options are superior than bluetooth anyway.
I paid 499 pounds for it in December 2013, and it's now even cheaper making it exceptional value.

Marantz’s software and support is pretty poor. I called the number in Belfast to find myself talking to a young woman who could not connect me to anyone because as she put it, "they have not told me how to work the phones yet." The system forces software updates on you that hang in mid-download and then are a nightmare to restart, but the system will not work until the download completes. But the big prize was that now that the download is complete, the system no longer recognises the Marantz ethernet cable, demanding again and again that I recheck the network connection and the cable. So the internet radio and remote control on my iPad, plus the ability to play iTunes is now toast.
I am leaning towards returning this as a bad lot. I certainly would say it does not seem to be worth the trouble.

I purchased a Marantz M-CR610N and a pair of Q Acoustic 2020i speakers so that I could steam music from my PC in the study. I was not quite prepared for the shock of wiring them up and slipping in a CD! They are all sat on top of a 6ft long oak sideboard and at the moment not bi-wired. I have ordered a couple of speaker bases from RS Acoustics, they have yet to arrive, but they will tighten the sound even more.
So these speakers are cheap, but larger than I was expecting and not made from MDF, they appear to be thick moulded plastic, so I was a little concerned as I had bought based upon reviews, not actually hearing them prior to delivery.
Sound quality is amazing! Audiophile on a budget! I have run them now for around 25 hours and they are getting better all the times.
Well done Q Acoustics & Marantz, I love listening to my music!
This system frankly would fill a room twice the size easily, my study is 14ft x 11ft. 60 watts per channel RMS is true!

Ordered this Monday, arrived Tuesday morning. Set up was easy, even though I manually set it up with WiFi. Took no time at all. Plays tracks on USB stick just by sticking it in the slot. When I first set up wifi it quickly found out, automatically there was a firmware update and when I hit OK, did everything automatically to upgrade.
Hand held remote easy to use, everything nicely spelt out.
Also have the Android app which is a dog and when I review that, will give it one star! But does allow me to play Internet Radio from nearly every country in the world, so listen often to Afrikaans music much to my English wife's annoyance :-)
Not sure about Dabs, need to move the arial about to get the best position I guess. So far I haven't bothered as I listen to all those programs via Internet radio. So, in a way, Dabs and FM is a little superfluous.
Although expensive, I do like it and am pleased I made the purchase.
On the Negative side (no stars deducted as it isn't Marantz's fault) I find proper streaming software from my Linux desktop difficult to work, I may dig out an old Win7 Netbook to test that. But no hurry.
What would be excellent though would be a box like this with an integral hard drive to store one's music. But that would be even more costly :-)

The device sounds great and has a lot of alternatives for hearing music. Also looks beautiful. Require a strong wifi, otherwise the control with iPhone app could be disrupted

Well .....I wanted something stylish .....something that sounded good........Something that was easy to use and not lost in menus......Something that could unlock the wonderful world of internet radio.......Something that could give quality to my Ipad / ipod music....Something that could spin a CD and make it sound good.......A tall order....I knew that I was expecting to much.....But I went ahead and ordered the Marantz M-CR610 anyhow.....Setting up was a breeze.......Now lets get a drink and grab a seat and see just what I had spent my money on..... Well 5 drinks later I was so hooked on the quality of sound from this unit......I have a pair Mission E80 speakers I am using......The display and operation are very smooth.....Dab and FM radio are fine.....All in all a very great unit....and a gr

After ordering this product it arrived well packed and quickly. Unfortunately the CD part of the product did not work so I organised for it to be sent back and replaced. This process proved very easy and the seller promptly arranged for a courier to pick up the defective unit and arrange for a replacement. The seller was very easy to deal with and were very efficient. I now have the new unit and I must say that it was easy to set up and use. The sound is great and I am pleased with all the functions. I bought Q Acoustics 2020i speakers for use with the unit and the overall sound is excellent.

Excellent player, does everything it is supposed to do. Only things that could be improved:
- More options for the alarm (like "weekdays" etc.)
- Use the iPad app for easy browsing of DNLA content

I have never had such an amazing stereo before.
Straight out of the box it was easy to set up, connect my old speakers, and the smart tech even copied over wireless settings from my iPad. The sound quality is lovely, and the ability to stream direct from the internet, or wirelessly play my iPad music, is terrific

The looks of the Marantz is very attractive being all in highgloss black plastic. The size is relatively big which confers some robustness and quality.
The setup was fast and easy. The wifi setup was made using the WPS button in the router and then in the Marantz. Very easy and fast. If you do not have WPS in the router, you can always enter the wifi password using the remote. The firmware update was also fast (10 min). I have also a Denon Ceol Piccolo and its setup was similar.
I connected the Marantz to floorstanding Monitor Audio 5i speakers using Audioquest Slip 14/4 cable in biamp (4 bananas in each top for each speaker and amplifier, per speaker) and chose the option biamp for speakers in the Marantz. The sound is just amazing. Please consider good/very good speakers to take full advantage of the power and sound quality, which is smooth, detailed and powerful.
The Marantz works well both with wifi and cable, even streaming the high resolution files from my NAS (Synology). The sound from the CD player is equally impressive in its high quality.
In summary, I am amazed with this brilliant all in one performer.

As I had a soundbar only and was looking for an affordable way to listen to music, I found this little baby. I must admit, I was really surprised about it.
Pros:
Compact in size
Plays all required sources
iPhone & iPad apps work great. Especially if you like to play your iTunes content via Airplay
Easy Setup
Great Sound - I hooked up two B&W 685 to it and the sound is really really good. Powerful, you hear all the details, good bass
Cons:
It would be nice, if you could get the metal housing in EMEA, but seems it's only available in Japan
I would recommend this unit to everyone who like to listen to CD quality sound as well as the possibility to listen to digital media from iTunes; Local Server or Internet.
