Seriously this does everything you would want it to do and a true all in one unit as I've got my Pro-ject turntable and Teac tape deck plugged in and my Samsung TV into it also via the optical. The sound is fantastic from every source and especially makes listening to my vinyl a real pleasure.
Hughes delivered this next day which was a real bonus and was free P&P. I rate the Marantz 5* and would advise buying one if you need a one box low cost Audiophile unit.

This is a wonderful piece of kit. I went for this product because I wanted something that would play CDs but also play media ripped to my computer and put onto a USB stick which it does. I must say it looks a lot smaller and less bulky than the pictures suggest which is not a bad thing, it fits neatly on the shelf and whereas our previous CD and tuner took up a fair amount of space this hardly takes up any space at all. It is also quite light and for me the plastic surround is not a problem, if anything it makes it look more sleek. Out of the box, it is very easy to set up. I have the heavy gauge speaker wirer going into my speakers and it is relatively easy to get this into the speaker channels. I must concur with some of the other reviews that setting up the wireless connection is a bit of a bind, however you can skip this in the set up and then come back to it later, if you want to get on and play your CDs. Now to the sound and oh what a sound ! I've been playing a lot of classical music since getting this product and I must say that it really brings out qualities in the CD's which I hadn't heard before. The thing that really hit me when I turned the first CD on was the silence in the speakers before the music came on, it was a wonderful silence, before the music revealed itself. I noticed in the reviews that some people have paired their Marantz with expensive speakers - I on the other hand only have a cheap

Fantastic product and a great sound. Obviously, you will need some decent speakers too! Only slight drawback is the ease of searching on Spotify. This is far more easily done with through a smartphone with the accompanying remote app than with the remote control. Also connects easily to a turntable.

I've had the CR610 for a week now following the dismal experience of a Denon Ceol N8 that I purchased 3 weeks ago (and promptly had to return as it wouldn't keep connected to the wired LAN or wifi). I was specifically looking for DAB+, CD, NAS / internet radio, analogue-in (for my record deck) and iPod features, I didn't mind whether it had WIFI or wired LAN only connection as I have some 'power plugs', the CR610 ticked all the boxes in terms of the functionality that I wanted - and a whole lot more than I probably need at the moment.
Straight out of the box it was nice and hefty, although it was a plastic casing (I went for the all black model), although I was aware of this having been for a demo in my local store (where I bought it from - there don't seem to be any savings to be had on this anywhere!), I don't understand why they didn't make it with the same metal finish as the CR603. Set-up was easy - just through the 'WPS' function on my router and it was well away, connecting to my favorite radio stations was a breeze. DAB was easy and picked-up as many stations as any of the other radios in the house.
I've listened to a lot of Radio 4 / 5 on DAB and gone through quite a lot of CDs such as Radiohead's The Bends, Rage Against the Machine, Nick Cave's Murder Ballads, Alt J's An Awesome Wave and some old dance vinyl. All sound fantastic, lots of clarity depth and a sound that I like. I also popped some MP3's on a USB - again they sounded really good.
I have them connected to a pair of Q Acoustics 2010i speakers (which I have borrowed from a friend to see if I like them) and the sound is blissful. I think I will go for a pair of these as they provide more than enough for what I need, it is a fairly small room. No doubt some will rather go for more high-end speakers - I suggest demo'ing the set-up that you're considering going for.

Well now: my old Bose Lifestyle system decided to die just before Christmas. In doing so it ate a favorite CD. So no more Bose thank you. Over the next few days I did a lot of research and found that the Maranz products get excellent reviews both in the UK and in Germany where I am based right now. So decision made I went onto German Amazon and read the reviews, popped it into my shopping basket and then thought - it's a lot of money 699 Euros: make doubly sure, check the UK reviews. Glowing reviews too BUT price just 435.81 pounds. Ah now that is 143.17 pounds sterling cheaper than on the Amazon De website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For that I can change a plug! And given that delivery was predicted for 3 January no matter which Amazon I bought from I made what to anyone will seem the right and most sensible decision: I bought from Amazon UK.
This leaves me with a question: does Amazon talk unto Amazon? When the product is the same: why is the price different?
So I wait for tomorrow with baited breath (today being 2 January). Thank you Amazon UK but please explain to your colleagues that the game they are playing is not in any way fair!
By the way I have given the product 5 stars on the strength of reviews and this purchase experience. Once I have the product in my hot little hands I'll review that too....
Update on lousy delivery
Oh dear. I paid extra to have the Maranz delivered the next day in Germany. Amazon failed. Now it is likely to arrive (if I believe UPS!) on 7th not 3rd!!!!!!! I took this up with Amazon and yes got the delivery costs refunded but their agent did not seem to understand the concept of customer satisfaction. Sigh. I quote "We send out over 1 million packages a day and sometimes errors like this are unavoidable if we wish to keep up a fast system." and "In my experience the item will arrive only a day or so late." to which I reply: "Only a day or two late" sadly does not spell customer satisfaction however hard you mix the letters.
Keep watching this space - me I am trapped at home waiting for something I needed yesterday...........

Bought this locally rather than from amazon purely out of convenience, first impression is of a beautifully finished unit that looks great on the shelf. I went for the one with the white panel which lifts the looks a bit as the all black looks well very black! Basic set up was easy but you do need to read the full instruction book to make the most of it, this comes on a cd but is easily downloaded from marantz onto a tablet which is much easier and more convenient. I would recommend anyone ordering the 610 to download and read the instructions in advance. The standard remote control is as cheap looking as the main unit is classy easy enough to use but the smartphone/tablet apps are much better although there can be a slight response lag. I bought this unit to replace a musical fidelity a1 and Cambridge audio cd5 combination both items antique in tech terms, the a1 threw a tantrum so I thought it was time to get something a bit more user friendly so the wife would feel comfortable with it. Sound quality is good but not as good as the professional magazine reviews would imply, it does lack something intangible and lacks real power and depth compared to the a1 (rated 20w/channel but running mainly in class A). I am using the 610 with my existing mordaunt short speakers, which are a few years old but by no means antique compared to the rest of my old system, using the bi amp mode. For most people given the constraints of size etc I do think you would be delighted with the sound and general ease of use, the internet radio is great, cd play back and streaming from PC also very good I am a bit niggled that you can't use the free versions of last.fm and spotify though, I would never make enough use of these services to justify the cost but of course others younger than me may well have a different approach! Anyway so far much to recommend if you buy one you are very unlikely to be disappointed

Had this set up and working now for several months paired with some old Mission speakers. OK, the sound isn't quite as good as my old Rotel power and pre-amp separates but I do like being able to browse through all of my music (stored as flac files on a NAS drive) so easily and fewer black boxes to clutter up the room. Best set up for me is using this with Spotify Premium through an iPad and Airplay rather than direct through the CR610. So easy to browse and for some reason the music quality sounds better. I also find the app ok to use - occasional freezing but ok once it's been on for a few minutes and loaded the cover art it seems to work well.

Brilliant - and much 'higher end' than the plastic finish implies.
This is the first Hi-Fi I have bought for over 25 years, having just junked a a very much larger separates system from the 1980s. I have however kept my Mission Cyrus 780 speakers (and Dual CS 505-4 turntable - pre-amp ordered).
On CD and DAB these speakers (which are not bi-wired, but are on 4.3mm oxygen-free copper 326 strand studio grade cables) sound suberb, particularly at medium to higher volumes. Internet radio stations vary enormously in quality - but there are a few very good ones out there, and some of these, such as Venice's Classical channel sound as good as CD or DAB. The real surprise was being able to select tunes on my home PC Media Player from the M-CR610.
I have tried to push challenging choral and orchestral works such as Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Basil Poledouris's Conan The Barbarian and Brahms' Requiem through the CD, and the M-CR610 has delivered with aplomb. Thin Lizzy tracks such as Whiskey in the Jar really sing out with suberb detail, but again, are better at higher volume settings.

This is an excellent unit and i have used it for few months now mainly streaming music from my NAS through WiFi. No problems. I think it crashed couple of times, but this resolved simply by unplugging the power and replugging it again. Excellent sound. I have to wear my glasses however to read the screen in my case. My children do not have an issue as their eye sight is fine. The only gripe is that no graphics or album art work shows on the screen. Couple of firmware updates so far that went smoothly again through WiFi.

Disappointed with the user interface on the app. Spotify is not very good to use. If you plan on listening to a lot of music via spotify you cannot scroll through your albums you have stored to your account, you have to store them as playlists. Sound quality not brilliant, i had better sound from a cheap 15yr old pioneer hifi.

This is a fantastic unit and I bought it on the basis that it could be remotely controlled via iPad and iPhone using the Marantz Remote App This app worked perfectly for 2 months. Unfortunately the latest firmware upgrade to the unit has broken the app. This has led to lots of user complaints and hopefully Marantz will fix this. https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/marantz-remote-app/id388917986?mt=8)

I spoke to Marantz technical support, and they talked me through a reset process, which I did. Lost my settings by Remote App now working. Great customer service from Marantz.

This is plagued by technical faults. The unit intermittently does not produce any sound. Speakers are fine, CD, radio etc play, just no output.

Nice and well sounding. To little power for my speakers and listening room, so I feed it to a NAD C356BEE. The Marantz smartphone app need a makeover - specially the Spotify controle app is not very good. I would give a 5 star rating if the M-CR610 had Spotify Connect.

A really nice piece of kit, just a few things it could do with improvement on, perhaps for the next model.
1) The sound quality isn't what I've come to expect from Marantz. Pumping out through my speakers it doesn't match my old Marantz PM57 amp nor does the CD quality (direct through headphones for example) match the Marantz CD63SE either.
2) Buttons, switches or knobs on the unit to select input please. Scrolling through that on-screen selector is a pain. Bass / Treble to be physically on the machine too, rather than just menu selectable.
If you're ordering this to replace an amp from the past, as I have, then expect to be pleasantly surprised but not wow'd.

I do love this system! I'll write a fuller review later, however for now I have a problem.
The CD function has a very loud mechanical clicking noise whenever switched to that function. I am to understand it will be replaced since I have only had it one day.
Here's the problem. The internet team do not pick up the phone. I have tried 30-50 times this morning, nobody there. I know the internet team is probably an offshoot of the main Richer Sounds teams, that said I picked Richer Sounds for their exceptional customer service given my past history with them.
This as a FAIL at this particular hurdle. Communication is impossible.

Quality of sound not as crystal clear as my previous AB class amplifier, I would say. But a friend of mine told me that C class amplifiers need a certain period of time before performing to their best. Otherwise, it is a great amplifier from the functionalities point of view.

This is a super little box. I am no audio expert, the last time I bought serious audio equipment was about 15 years ago, and then I bought Philips, which was a high quality product (for the mid range). I have a large collection of Vinyl recordings, CD's, and loads of music on my harddisk in varying formats. This little beauty manages all perfectly and the sound is superb. I am still using my old speakers with it. The setup was slightly awkward, but once I got used to it I don't have any problems. It all works as it says it should. Only slight glitch is that the wifi connection drops every time I turn it off, then you have to run through setup again (unless I have not found a quicker way). I guess this would not be a problem with a wired connection. With the 2 available "analog in" sockets, 1 used by my turntable for the Vinyls, all I need now is a cassette player for old recordings made years ago, then it can handle all the recorded music I have. I love it.

Orders on Friday delivery on Tuesday, have just tried the CD, DAB with indoor aerial (will use a loft aerial at some stage) iPod via front USB all worked fine

The Firmware update released on 22nd Jan 2015 stops both of the Marantz Remote Control apps from working, either on Kindle or Android.

very difficult to put password in for internet and you have to do it again and again if power failure .also aerial not substantial enough not good quality . Do not put anywhere near a dimmer switch in your house or you will lose signal

Wow - what a product - everything works - Spotify, Air Tunes, Internet Radio and all sounds really nice - by wire the speakers though for real transparent sound - well done Marantz
