I tried to check whether this would work on my mac, but couldn't tell and gambled and lost. At best, I can take snapshots and video without any controls, at worst it just sits on mac. Maybe it makes my office look monitored to ignorant potential burglars, if only I could get that cool blue light to come on again.Now I see a few sporadic comments about this device being useless for mac - at least it seems to function as a microphone.Logitech - please add some words on your website that it is not mac compatible.[4-30-11 - Now I have the camera part working again - it needed to be connected directly to the USB port on the computer, not a port on the monitor - still there are no working controls on the camera software. However, I don't know of any better mac webcam, so I bumped the score up one star.]

This product's software does not work with the Mac OS and "customer service", when you finally get to them, admits it.In my opinion, this is nothing short of fraud. Logitech advertises it for the Mac yet it is not fully functional. The cameraworks but that's it. They gracioustly allowed me to return it. They have wasted my time, their time and have permanently lost a customer in the bargain.

Webcam works waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy better than the Chinese webcam I bought on eBay.I would have bough this brand new but I saw it as Used and it works just as good as used.Mic on it has a bit of a hall way effect but if your doing webcam recordings, you just have to turn down the volume on the recording.Also I can put it anywhere I want with out having it fall over or stuff like that.Overall, I'm satisfied.

I bought this camera to make YouTube promotional videos for my website, [...] I am not a computer whiz. Out of the box and working is less than five minutes. For home or Skype-to-Skype type use, the audio is totally acceptable. I need pro-quality audio for my purposes which requires an additional pro-quality microphone.He's the really scary part. I wanted a state-of-the-art camera that would give me the confidence of knowing my finished videos wouldn't end up looking like they were produced by an amateur. This camera more than lived up to that expectation. The video quality is too good! I looked at my first video attempt of myself and decided, I definitely have a "radio face" that was never intended to be see on TV or in a video. I'm going to have to be creative in creating video content. I'll just do the voice-overs of the illustrations I want to talk about.Finished video quality every bit as good as ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN or FOX.Cable length is more than adequate for using with your computer. If you want to use it like a hand-held for other types of use, you'll need an USB-type extension cable.Lighting - Automatic light adjustment in the images so everything is properly contrasted is beyond expectations.The hardest part of it all is to understand how anyone can make a product this awesome that costs so little. I can't imagine there's any way to improve on this product short of adding 3-D to the options list and, I doubt that's going to happen any time soon.

I have to admit that when I first got this I thought, "Why do I need a seperate webcam? My laptop has one built in. This is a rather pricey add-on for something that comes standard in laptops nowaday." Well, first of all, Desktop computers don't come with a Webcam built in, so I decided I'd use it for that. Second, with 1080p video quality, this is far superior to the built-in webcam with my laptop and so I ended up using it with that as wella s my desktop. Finally, this particular webcam has some nice bells and whistles that certainly makes it well worth the asking price. From a 10 megapixel photo resolution to the one click upload for Youtube and Facebook, I've certainly gotten a lot of use out of this camera. I've even used it to film a video of my rabbits running amok in my house and compared it to the video quality of the last high definition video camera Amazon sent me, and the picture quality holds up nicely in comparison.Installation went decently, the included software was a bit of a waste, but at least Logitech included some and overall, I'm very happy with the webcam and my girlfriend and both use this exact model (C910) when we have to chat rather than be face to face (Curse you, work!)If you're looking to get a high definition webcam, the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910 is definitely well worth the money and you'll get a lot of use out of it.

Bought this to replace the quickcam pro 9000 which is in itself a brilliant camera, except that the mounting solution was never a high point for me. Yes the mounting solution was good on a desk, but on a monitor it was sometimes dependent on what you had to put it on. The HD unfortunately is no better... in fact I'd say it's worse. At least the 9000 had a longer (albeit thiner) base to rest on a desk... the HD is shorter but wider, but it's on a monitor or CRT you'd have issues. Honestly something I wish logitech would do is add a swivel mount to their cameras so that you can effectively move it on the mount without having to reattatch it to the monitor if you say, want to show someone your room or especially if some of us use it as a security cam... considering it has motion detection which works quite well. Come on Logitech... swivel your cams...With that out of the way, this is a fine camera quality wise... HD is brilliant, though the colors sometimes aren't representative of your actual skintone or environment... even adjusting doesn't give you the actual color, but that is minor. Low light performance is good, though the blurring when you move is still apparent I suppose due to the right light settings... same as the 9000. take this off and you find to get better flowing movement, you suffer image brightness etc.All in all good lens and I can live with some of the video setting issues, but the mounting solution can be much improved. 4 out of 5 stars.

I last used a Logitech webcam years ago. I liked this because it had HD and it was easy to setup and came with lots of software like Skype (it's new to me). The picture quality and sound are amazing.

I just set this up on my 27" Intel iMac (OSX 10.6) after hassling with a number of incompatible external webcams. But you do have to download the respective software from their website and use it in its independent program. No biggie and it works very nicely. After recording a video clip I opened up iMovie and imported the clip from the Logitech Webcam file folder in the Movies file folder. The quality was superb compared to the washed out quality of the built-in plastic lensed camera in the iMac. No crashes, no lock ups--plus the stereo audio made it all the more desirable. The only issue some might have is that the auto light correction was not overly impressive. But for me it was an insignificant issue compared with the pros of the product, especially since most Mac stuff is outrageously expensive anyway.

I create webseries and popular videos and movies. And this by far is 100 times better than my video camera. I have not had a single issue and this webcam blows everything else out of the water. You won't regret getting this.

Today unpacked this camera, and was amazed at the quality, and most importantly, it was working on the mac! Not many Logitech cameras are compatible with Mac!

I got this webcam to replace an old one that I had that did not always work with Linux and had no mic. I am using this cam on my main system that runs Linux Mint 10, 64bit. It works fine with Skype, Cheese, and Gyahci, so far whenever a webcam is needed it works. All I had to do was plug it in, and it worked. It only has the basic functions in Linux, but it works very good in low light and the auto focus works fine. The picture quality is also very good compared to the old cam I had. Cheese gives a lot of resolution settings to choose from. Of course the higher the resolution, the slower the video will be. In Skype the video is very good and smooth with a high fps. How it looks to the person you are chatting with will depend on their version of Skype and connection speed. Sound quality through the mic sounds great. It worked fine on my windows laptop, but you can read most of the other reviews related to windows. I did not try it on my Mac.

This product seems very good for making/sharing home videos, as the sound quality (via duo microphones) is quite excellent, and the image resolution is truly astounding in my opinion. However, I believe that this quality is somewhat limited to the purpose of making videos or taking snapshots. When I used it for video-calling programs such as Skype, the image resolution was scaled down so markedly that the image didn't seem to me to be dramatically better than what my average webcam offered. That said, I believe it has certain advantages over average webcams even if you use it for video-calling alone: it allows you to adjust the angle, focus, zoom and other aspects of the video while you're talking. The camera even has the ability to "follow your face" to a certain extent - if you desire it to do so.The only complaint I have is that the camera itself does not hold on to your laptop screen securely. There is no clip or a tight grip provided. You're expected to balance the camera carefully and let it "sit" on the edge of your laptop screen. If you place your laptop on a secure and stable location (e.g. on a desk instead of your lap - and being extra careful on the airplane) and do not adjust/tilt your laptop screen while you use it, you might not have much of a problem. However, I can see how this lack of a secure grip can be an obvious inconvenience for someone who might like to carry the laptop and walk around with it while using the camera (e.g. making a home movie, showing your apartment to a friend through Skype, etc.). For someone who hibernates their laptop very frequently by closing their laptop screen many times a day, expect the camera to fall on your desk unless you remember to remove the camera first. I believe this lack of a secure grip is a legitimate concern for potential buyers.

I have used Logitech webcams for many years and have found them hit and miss in the past with some of the being fantastic and others sub par. Either way none of the past units I used were HD. I was a little skeptical when picking this one up and its smaller brother (C510)especially as HD is a term that's banded around by every manufacturer these days.I must admit I have been impressed with this unit, so much so I have recommended this to others. Its worth pointing out that unlike the C510 the C910 has a wider field of view which depending on your application may not be desired. The picture quality however along with color reproduction and clarity is extremely good. On top of this the audio (dual mics on the C910) is awesome. I don't want to knock the C510 as that is a great camera as well but the audio on the C910 wins hands down and if like me you do a lot of video conferences, meetings or screencasts etc then this is a game changer.So, is the C910 worth the cost........absolutely in my opinion. There is still room for improvement (onboard processing of HD to relieve processor overhead is one) but this camera really has come a long way from the webcams of old.If you are in the market, pick one up from Amazon. Great price, quick delivery and backed with customer satisfaction if you are not happy with it.Now I am going to buy another for relatives.

From the moment I plugged it in (I happened to have some extra USB extension cords) it didn't take but a few minutes to get it started. The picture and sound quality are great - generally better than anyone else on the other end. The camera's zoom, face lock, pan, light, focus are all great. To use the avatars and face decorations is a lot of fun, but the room lighting has to be right or the software will not lock on to your face - it has to to use the masks, overlays or avatars. But once I figured out that my blinds have to be down and my room light on, it always works. It nice to have the built in mic's so you odn't have to fool around with another mic cord, and try to get it plugged in to the correct input on the computer. Its all done via one USB plug in and could not be simpler.There are not that many people in my contacts that have video calling capability on their computers, but this feature is a very compelling reason. I was worried about looking bad, hair not combed etc (and my cousin suggested I remember to have my shorts on when I call - ha ha) - or talking to people that don't look their best. Its true, we don't always, but it really feels easier to connect with friends and family when you can see them while you are talking. the one thing I noticed is that its a lot more difficuolt to hang up when on a video call than on a normal call. Maybe its because I feel more connected. But its a technology that should come of age. And this the camera to do it.

Had a problem installing the c910. After 2 hours of trying this and that, I finally found a forum where someone had the same problem that I was having. About halfway through the installation process the dreaded Blue Screen of Death would appear and my laptop would restart. Logitech's camera drivers were having a conflict wth my Western Digital software. I unistalled the WD software. The logitech software installation was easy. I was uploading to youtube within 5 minutes. And yes, my Wesern Digital external hard drive still works like a charm!Camera quality is excellent. Features are cool. You can create a vid, save it, click a button and upload to youtube, or twitter, or... Super easy. Skyped with my girlfreind for 20 minutes without a problem. Can't wait for my next vacation so I can create some beautiful, clean, HD videos to share with friends and family!

This is my first webcam so I have nothing to compare it with. I got it to use with Skype and gchat and it works with both. The quality is great when plugged into a USB 2.0 port, but it still seems to lag a bit and video is a little bit choppy on my desktop (with 6GB RAM and dual core processor). The cord could be a bit longer. Otherwise I have no complaints!

Doesn't attach to my monitor very well - Falls off easily if bumped. I think Velcro is the solution to problem. Other than that it's great!

WOW about sums it up. The clarity of this compared to my very old Logitech camera is amazing. The install was a breeze through.Windows 7 premium home 64 bit recognized the camera and started down loading the software and drivers from Logitech's site. No need to use the disk that came with it.Very little acid tripping when moving my arms and well just WOW.Now if I can get one to work on the Panasonic blu-ray machine for Skype that would be great but I fear that will be impossible. I will have to buy a Panasonic brand camera as the dvd machine does not recognize the camera.

Having read some of the software pitfalls with this particular model, I had gone along and purchased it anyway as I was sort of looking for an upgrade to the current model I had been using (Logitech STX Communicator).On the whole, I was fortunate with the current set up (Win 7 32-bit, 3.16 GHz Core Duo, 4 GB RAM) and that installation and software set up was a breeze. I've yet to experience any of the problems that people here and on the Logitech Forums described as having with the model.The only 4-star that I gave this product was with the installed USB microphone. While it does well, I don't like the hiss that I occasionally hear when using it during sound checks. Then again, it was the same sort of hiss that I heard with the old STX, so I suspect it has to do with the way it uses gain to pick up sound.All in all, I am happy with the product and price.
