Cumple el 21:9, pero no la resolución.
Tengo una Mac y decidí explorar en el campo de las 21:9, la verdad ha sido cómodo trabajar en este formato, sin embargo la resolución es mucho menor. También ha sido un dolor de cabeza la compatibilidad con Mac dado a que se debe conectar vía display port, debo conectar y desconectar el monitor para que este reciba la señal.

Disclaimer - I am not a gamer, so I cannot provide information about the efficacy of this monitor for that purpose.
However, what I can tell you is that this is an absolute dream. The instruction manual, if you can call it that, had no words, just representations of what you're supposed to do to put it together, but from the way the parts are manufactured, it's easy to tell what goes where. I had it put together and on my desk in less than 10 minutes. (BTW - you'll need a screw driver to attach the base to the monitor).
I chose this product over all of the other larger screens because of the ability to choose a split screen. I'm a college prof, and the ability to have Zoom in one corner, a PowerPoint in another, and even other documents open without flipping back and forth is wonderful. Note that you must go to LG's website and download the drivers for split screen (which took me a couple of minutes to figure out even after looking at the owner's manual on LG's site). From there, it's easy. There's a monitor icon in the upper right hand corner...click it, and choose from a myriad of split screen designs.
As for color, light, etc. I was pretty happy with it right out of the box. To get to these, there's a small toggle on the underside of the monitor, right in the middle. Toggle one way for the menu, another for gaming, and another to turn the monitor off. The menu functions are easy to understand, and the online manual tells you page-by-page what each function does. And yes, there is a function to reduce eye strain. It makes the screen pretty dark, but you can adjust the brightness and lock it in. I really didn't change much else relative to the color, sharpness, etc. But then, I'm not doing professional photography work - primarily documents, and some graphic design of collateral materials, but the ability to have all of it in front of you - fully sized - is such an upgrade over a smaller monitor. You can also set pre-set functions for movies, gaming, etc.
Sound is great - I had to "attend" a 100 person Zoom meeting, and walk away from my desk, and could clearly hear everyone from a distance of 25 feet. In fact, it was a bit too loud. I have yet to play music, so I'm not sure of the depth of that sound quality, but you can change the base, treble, etc. I'm more than happy with the sound. I have a top of the line MAC laptop, and the sound is way more superior from the monitor. I only wish it had a camera as I have to buy a separate camera/mic (I keep my MAC closed when hooked into the monitor).
So if you're looking for a relatively inexpensive large-screen monitor for multi-tasking - this is for you...look no further!...One final issue - as a previous reviewer said, make sure the day it's delivered someone is home. The monitor is shipped in its retail packaging, which clearly identifies what's in the box. If you live in a neighborhood where people are tempted to steal packages, this might be the one they go for because the box looks like a big screen TV.

Best bang-for-your-buck, 1st-time ultra-wide monitor you can get!!! Better than 4K!!!
*****UPDATE (12-10-2016): Still loving this awesome monitor (my wife, too!). I decided to repurpose my old regular-wide monitor as a second display ABOVE this monitor (because why not??? LOL) and learned that any dual-vertical desk-mount stand that supports "up to 27-inch" regular-wide monitors can also fit 34"ultrawide because they're the same actual height (I was previously tearing my hair apart looking for a "34-inch dual-vertical" stand but couldn't find any---go figure!).

This monitor ROCKS! At under $400 (currently $349!!!), you CANNOT go wrong with this ultra-wide beast unless you're running a low-end graphics card (works great with my GTX 960).
When I first looked into ultra-wide monitors, I did all kinds of research and wished I had $1300 at the time for an Acer Predator X34 (currently $1,230) because that monitor was 3440x1440 (this LG 34UM68-P is only 2560x1080 but it's still absolutely gorgeous). I thought I would need the curve to get a better experience, too. But then I discovered I would also need a faster graphics card to handle 3440x1440 on top of the insane cost of the Predator X34---putting that dream on hold for at least another year or two.
So...I bought this monitor instead and honestly thought it would be "just okay". But when it arrived and I set it up, I was absolutely blown away. This monitor made me want to play games more now than I've had the urge for the past 10 years or more. It's so good, I bought a SECOND one for my wife.
Everyone has their own preferences in monitors but here's some of my discoveries with this monitor:
1) I don't care about curved anymore. Seriously! For productivity (I work with Excel a lot), curved monitors distort horizontal lines/spreadsheets to make them look weird and kinda bad, IMO. So much so for me, that I'm not sure I ever want a Predator X34 in the future. Lesson learned, I am sticking with FLAT ultra-wide monitors and would strongly recommend others do so if you use your computer for both gaming and productivity. If your computer is strictly a gaming machine (mine clearly isn't) then you'll probably appreciate a curved monitor.
2) I've heard it said that there isn't a graphics card currently on the market that can handle 3440x1440 games at ultra-high settings (though I've also read that the NVidia 1080 does come close depending on the game you're playing). This is because there is literally almost twice as many pixels going from 2560x1080 to 3440x1440. Since I never buy state-of-the-art graphics cards when they first come out (I usually wait a year or two for the price to drop), that means I am likely 2 years away from getting both a 3440x1440 monitor and the graphics card to handle it.
3) I absolutely love the preset window panes for this monitor (and you can customize it many different ways...I prefer 2 side-by-side panes but you can also do 3 side-by-side, 4 quad, 2 side-by-side w/3rd horizontal pane above or below, etc.). These window panes allow you to drag-n-snap your windows (web browsers, Word, Excel, etc.) automatically without having to manually resize everything (super awesome for productivity)! I don't know if all ultra-wide monitors do this (and very likely not) because this is an LG-developed software that comes with the monitor.
4) Gaming with extra field-of-view on the left/right sides really gives you an edge (as long as your game supports 2560x1080 resolution which games like Doom, The Division, Zombie Army Trilogy and even Fallout 4---with an INI file tweak---do). Once you game with ultra-wide resolutions, trust me...you will NEVER go back!!!
5) Watching movies on this thing...breath-taking. Most movie resolutions are 21:9 making them perfect for ultra-wide monitors (though most TV shows have yet to catch up with this ratio).
There are plenty of other ultra-wide monitors in both 2560x1080 and 3440x1440 but I love this particular monitor's features and price-point. Sure, there are better monitors out there...but they cost A LOT more and honestly...I'm not even sure I would see much difference (without buying that high-end, state-of-the-art graphics card as well). Maybe in 2018 but this is definitely GREAT (not just "good") enough until then!

A beautiful display
I am very pleased with the color and contrast ratios of this monitor. Also, the 21:9 ratio provides 25% more width than a standard 16:9 display, which could give you the screen real-estate you need without having to go with dual monitors. To give you an idea of it's size, this monitor is similar in height (viewable) to my 27" 16:9 ViewSonic display. Because of it's width, the corner-to-corner is 34". If you are going to pair this with an existing 16:9 monitor, it is good to see how it will fit ascetically on your desk. If you want it to be as seamless as possible, compare the viewable vertical heights of both monitors (The bezel, or plastic boarder, is not as important in this case)
Color reproduction is really good, but as with any display when used for professional editing, the use of a calibration device such as a Color Spyder is always recommended. While it certainly has a better range of viewing angles than other LCD's I have had in the past, the difference is not that striking. The height adjustable stand does not seem to crawl; meaning it seems to stay where you put it instead of slowly traveling lower or higher based on the strength of the springs. The speakers are better than most in-monitor speakers but still do no hold a candle to dedicated, full-range speakers. The best speakers inside a monitor I have ever heard were in Apple Thunderbolt Display units, but even those lacked a lot of low-frequency range. I have noticed that at full volume, there is a distinct buzzing sound on high-frequency sounds; this vanishes when the volume is lowered a few notches.

Given the size of the unit, it would be great if the base allowed the unit to pivot on its vertical axis. This isn't a con, per se, as most monitors do not have this feature.

Know what you are buying.
The LG 34UM68-P is made primarily for gaming and at 21:9 it's perfect for movie watching. So know what you're getting into with a 2560x1080 resolution. It's going to be a little grainy for text and general use even with LG's fantastic menu options. If you are planning on getting one of these do it if you're a gamer not just because it's one of the more affordable 34' monitors. Also be aware that not all games support this aspect ratio and some never will because many video game developers consider it an unfair advantage. Overwatch is a great example of this. You will end up with black bars on either side and Blizzard has no plans to support it. Having said that, the monitor itself for the games that do support it are so much more immersive and well worth buying this monitor.
The Stand:
A HUGE improvement over the previous model (34UM57-P), which had a cheap, lightweight plastic stand that was not adjustable for the most part.
This one has a metal core and is fully adjustable and does not allow the panel to rock back and forth like the last one. So kudos to LG for listening to their customers and fixing it.
The Panel Casing:
As far as I can tell it's nearly identical to the previous model. Still completely glossy (which is why it gets 4 Stars)
LG.. STOP MAKING GLOSSY EVERYTHING! If you touch it and put fingerprints on it and then try to wipe them off it WILL scratch.
The only improvement over the last model is that they included a plastic spacer to put in between where you attach the panel to the stand so that you won't scratch the glossy plastic.
The Screen:
The screen is pretty darn nice. It's a matte finish and the quality of the IPS panel, colors, contrast, brightness are all quite good. I have not complaints about it. Black levels are very good once you make some minor adjustments.
The Menu:
The menu is flat out fantastic! A TON of adjustability for color and modes. A wonderful joystick style control with a single button which makes it very easy to navigate. 4 Gaming modes which are 2 clicks away at all time so you can easily switch to them mid game.
Options/Features:
I won't go over all of them but the main ones are clearly FreeSync, Gaming modes and REAL 75Hz. If you have an AMD video card you are in business. I have an ASUS Strix R9 390X and FreeSync is a strait up game changer. I will never go back to a standard monitor. It's hard to describe you just have to see it. Turn it on in the LG menu and turn it on in your AMD control panel and thats it! It just works. Gaming modes include FPS Custom, FPS 1, FPS 2 and RTS/MMO modes. 3 Preset and one to Customize. You can also overclock this monitor to 75Hz once FreeSync is turned on. Or rather I should say it's an option at that point to change it to 75Hz. I have read people actually overclocking it to around 82Hz but thats like a lottery. Some will some will not and you try that at your own risk.
I got this on Prime Day for under $370. At that price up to about $400 it is a really nice choice for a gaming monitor. I was looking at this and a 28' 4K ASUS. I went with this for the FreeSync and 75Hz. It's just a really good value overall with a few short coming which can be overlooked for what you end up with.

Display is wonderful, yet must set OS display sleep options to "Never"
Thoroughly impressed as a third monitor for my workspace. For the price point and build quality, it's a very good investment for a non-curved 21:9 monitor. My only headaches for this purchase was that I needed a [Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 4K@60Hz] cable to connect it to my older (Late 2012) Mac mini for it to take advantage of the whole 21:9 aspect ratio. An HDMI-to-HDMI cable fed the monitor a signal that gave me 1920x1200, displaying in pillar box format (black bars on the left and right sides of the monitor). If you purchase this display, be aware the only cable length options off the shelf for MiniDP-to-DP were 3 ft. or 6 ft., both of which were sold out at my local BestBuy and computer/TV shops. Great Productivity / TV Replacement Dispay
I Haven't had this monitor for long yet so I can't speak for the longevity, but my first impressions of this monitor are great. I'm coming from a 21 inch 16:9 but my display before that was a 45 inch flat screen TV and this monitor offers a very comfortable middle-ground experience if you want a large display but don't want to deal with the generally terrible input latency of a television. After a few months of researching before settling on this display my two main worries were that it would be uncomfortably big on my desk and that text would be uncomfortable to read because of the relatively low dpi (about the same as a 27 inch 1080p panel). After having used it I can say neither of those were any issue for me, and I think the general consumer would be happy with this display also. I find that a lot of negatives reviews of this monitor come from people who have used much higher resolution displays before this and were accustomed to very high pixel densities. To the untrained eye, and especially someone like me who is already adjusted to very large, low dpi screens; this monitor is the best monitor you can buy if you want to get into large ultrawides on a budget. It's definitely not right for everyone, considering the sheer size of this screen there's probably a lot of people who just cant possibly fit it on their desk, but for a use case like mine where this monitor doubles as a TV for my bedroom it's absolutely perfect. That being said I have two main gripes about this monitor the first being the lackluster build quality. If you press even slightly around the edge of where the screen meets the bezel, the panel flexes easily and doesn't feel like it would hold up well if something were to bump into it. Second being the fact that there's no display port cable included in the box which I wouldn't mind as much if this were a regular monitor but considering the fact that you can't enable freesync or the 75 hz refresh rate with an hdmi connection then there really should have been both cables included in the box. Overall, I'd have to say it's the best choice in <$400 ultrawides if it lasts as long as I'm hoping it will.

Amazon had a FANTASTIC deal on this
I received this monitor way ahead of schedule the day after I ordered it with Amazon prime. I used to have a 27in ips acer gaming monitor before this. Sadly it broke when I had it shipped to me at Ft. Benning GA. Amazon had a FANTASTIC deal on this, this is normally a 600 or 700 plus dollar monitor. I got it with the display port cable for about 360. When I saw the box I said to myself wtf did you just order. The box is huge and intimidating if you have never had a monitor this size. After getting it unpacked and on my desk I fired it up. This is the most beautiful display I have ever had the pleasure of using. There was no light bleed from the corners or any where I noticed on the screen.
I'm a full time grad student, SSG in the guard, and work full time. So I immediately started doing my projects on it. I had up 4 windows plus 2 smaller windows for music and sticky notes in the middle. The speakers on this thing are VERY loud. I was impressed, my 22 in monitor I was forced to use sounded like a mouse moving through a closet at full volume. This thing screams (and I have astro a50 cans for those that think I'm a fan boy). There is not alot of bass there but I am very happy with the speakers. The displays color reproduction is spot on. I could edit photos (dslr) and video very easily with accuracy. Lastly but most importantly was gaming.
So this is a AMD monitor in the since that it's not supposed to do 75hz with nvidia. Well thanks LG because mine definitely does. All you need to do is do a custom res in nvidia options and set it at 75. I played doom on ultra, marvel hereos, dead island remastered, and msg 5. No flickering, no ghosting just smooth play action.
If this monitor is under consideration for you, just buy it especially if it's on sale. I was gonna buy the curved dell 35in but this was def worth the money and I saved ALOT

Great Monitor.....BUT- Mac Users BEWARE!
If you're thinking about buying this monitor for your Mac, setup will be a bit*h.
PCs unlike Macs, make changing your screen's resolution very simple. You just go into your computer's "Display" settings and select the resolution your looking for.
Macs on the other hand, do not offer this level of simplification. The optimal resolution for this monitor is 2560x1080. When you go into the Display settings for your Mac, you WILL NOT be able to find an option to select this screen resolution. There's only a "scaling" option and this ISN'T what your looking for.
When you try to go to LG's website, to try to find out how to setup your LG 34UM68-P, you will quickly become extremely frustrated at how difficult it is to find ANY kind of useful information on how to fix this problem.
DO NOT waste your time calling LG's customer support for help because they are completely useless. They'll tell you to do things like, disconnect the cable and plug it back in again to see if that fixes the problem. They'll then tell you to restart your computer, they'll then tell you to reset your monitors settings. After about 20 mins of this nonsense and they've run out of suggestions, they'll then tell you to contact the manufacturer of your computer's graphic card to see if they can help fix the problem for you.
At this point I was just LIVID!!
I'm saying to myself "how in the world, can such a large electronics company like LG, that makes tons of monitors and televisions, not have an easy way for me to get my monitor to work as advertised?!?! Am I the first Mac user to ever buy one of their monitors?!?!?" Mindblowing
I ended up spending the next 30 mins on Google doing a ton of various searches, trying to find a solution. I ended up getting lucky and stumbled on to a video on YouTube that showed me what needed to be done. I ended up needing to purchase some 3rd party software for $16. After going through the steps in the video a few times, I was finally able to fix the resolution to the recommended settings and get it to look the way it was supposed to.
I'm including a photo of what the screen looked like at one point when I was trying to adjust the resolution settings. Had I not had a working 2nd monitor available, I would not have been able to get out of the screen that you see in the photo.
This was definitely not a pleasurable experience and I ended up nearly sending this monitor back due to all the trouble I had to go through in order to get it to work. There needs to be a very conspicuous disclosure made somewhere in the product description about this issue.

This ultra widescreen monitor is much better than I thought it would be.
I'm a tax guy and needed a bigger monitor to split screen for loading data into a complex tax program. I almost got a standard 16X9 4K TV and I know those work well but wanted to try this. This monitor it great! The text is extremely sharp and easy to read. I'm not a gamer but I can tell this would be awesome for that and the same for watching movies. I did some YouTube vids for fun and they looked very good too. If there is a downside it's when you're only running one program and it's full screen it's almost too wide because both edges are out of your field of vision if you're sitting at a work desk with your eyes at the normal 3 foot distance used for computer reading glasses. When I didn't need a second window I used the Win 10 Snap to force the view to half screen. If I wanted a bit more, I just grabbed the right edge and dragged it to maybe two thirds screen. It just depends on what someone wants it for. I think it's very versatile. And I haven't even tried out it's own software yet.

I have this monitor for about 4 months now and absolutely love it. 34'' is massive and the ultra-wide format is amazing for gaming, which is my primary use for this monitor. I don't think I will ever go back to 16:9. 21:9 really is amazing in games like Battlefield 1, Doom, etc. At 2560x1080 it is not a very high resolution monitor, but that's actually a plus in my book. It means I don't need a super expensive graphics card to run it. I have it paired with a RX480 with FreeSync and it's just perfect. I run Battlefield 1 on Ultra and it's incredibly smooth. I was a bit wary after reading reviews complaining about the low-resolution, like the text looked bad, etc. Doesn't bother me one bit, it's fine. Never used a 1440p or 4K panel, so I guess I' not spoiled :)
One word of caution. Either I was just unlucky or Quality Control on this monitor is atrocious. I had to return it twice to Amazon due to dead pixels and very significant back-light bleed on the 2nd unit. 5* to Amazon, they were truly impressive, if there was ever any doubt. On my 1st replacement, they actually sent me the 2nd unit before I returned the 1st, so I ended up with 2 monitors in my house! Returned both due to the problems above. Still, loved the monitor so much that was set on having one. Tried one more time, this time buying from a physical store to make returns easier, if needed. 3rd time is a charm. No dead pixels, very minor back-light bleed in one corner. 4 months in, still love it.

Not Enjoying As Much For Gaming, But Great for Pentesting
I bought this monitor to pair with an RX 480 and a i7-4790K for playing games such as Doom, Deus Ex MD, CS:GO, Metro Redux, and numerous others. Having played a few through, I've come to realize that the guidance I saw on YouTube seems to be correct. 16:9 is best for gaming (my Acer 27" 2560x1440 monitor). I can't really see or enjoy the periphery of the monitor. Perhaps if it were curved, it would be better.
However, I think I have found that productivity is where it lies for this monitor. I can have two browsers, side-by-side, open with no horizontal scroll bars, and the text is readable at 4 feet (with my older eyes). What is great is that I can have a VM open on the left that I'm penetration testing, and a browser open on the right, where I can do my research. I don't have a distracting bar in the middle, and I don't have to shift my eyes very far to see (as I do with two 1080p monitors).
I got the monitor optimized for this kind of work, with gaming as a secondary consideration. The monitor is quite nice, and the text is not too bad, although not quite as good as my 25" Acer IPS monitors. The monitor is now setup for 75 Hz and FreeSync. All the games play quite nicely, even if the periphery isn't all that visible to me.
I look forward to trying video editing on this monitor as well. It seems that having the nice long timeline will make it ideal.

I dont need the extra high definition and dont wanna spend $800 on one that I dont like. Simple and to the point
Hopefully your looking at this review thinking about taking the plunge into "ultra wide" displays. I was in a similar boat and figured I would take the cheaper option over the 1440p version of this monitor (Just a heads up THIS monitor's resolution is 2560x1080). I dont need the extra high definition and dont wanna spend $800 on one that I dont like. Simple and to the point, I LOVE THIS MONITOR. Everyone that has seen my computer has said "that monitor looks so cool or things similar. I love the extra room while i have two windows split and can see both with ease. the lower resolution doesn't bother me at all and can barely notice it. Playing games.... all I can say is WOW!!!! I make music and love love love the extra room.
The only lame things about the monitor are...
-The Price... A new format always cost an absurd amount of money. And this is no exception. If I didn't game and just wanted the extra room for multi tasking, I would buy two monitors and have the price be cheaper and save a couple bucks.

Love it! I'll list the things I was concerned ...
Love it! I'll list the things I was concerned about a few things when I ordered it and my experience for anyone wondering about the same things:
1) Will I like the ultra wide style monitor in a work/ professional environment? Can't believe I ever doubted this one, it's wonderful! I use it in a home office and it's wonderful being able to view three very large windows at once. A typical scenario for my environment is a teleconference feed in the middle, Outlook on the right, and Chrome open and searching Amazon for more stuff to buy on the left, lol. I was considering a 32" 16:9 aspect ratio, but I realize now how inefficient that would have been. I don't need more height out of windows, I need more width when I have multiples open at once.
2) Is it going to be too big for my space? This too proved to be a non issue. The 21:9 ratio actually makes for a pretty small feeling screen, even at 34 inches. It feels very "immersive" to sit in front of, but not at all overwhelming or silly-looking.
3) Is the resolution too low for such a large screen? For me it's fine. With the things I use it for, I've noticed no issues whatsoever with lost resolution vs the 23" monitor it replaced.

Worth the wait Amazing Display for work and gaming
I purchase the monitor on March 13th of 2017 for $349.00 acknowledging that delivery date might be a "little" late, due to high demand of that product. The description said that product usually ships within a month and found that very strange, especially when Amazon usually doesn't have restocking issues (I was wrong).
The month went by and finally 3 days ago and after numerous calls to Amazon Customer support to find out what is going on, Amazon shipped my order and received it today at my door.
Again, I ordered it on May 13th and was delivered to me on April 27th!!!!
You ask me why do I give 5 Starts?
Because regardless of the awful wait, it worth it 1000% for the amazing product.
I played the latest Tomb Raider game and my mouth was dropped (using a display cable and FreeSync with 75Hertz Refresh Rate on)
I worked on various word documents and at one point have 8 pages across the screen (single document), and was able to read them fine and identify my corrections.
Make sure that you install the onscreen software that comes with the monitor as it will make you life easier and give you great display options.
Overall, even though is only 1 day in my possession, I'll have to say that I am very happy with that purchase.

I'm impressed...or at least I was.
I'm not a very technical person, but I know quality when I see it. This monitor is very nice, has a beautiful picture and nice sound from the speakers. I originally ordered the 29 inch because I thought this one would be too wide for my relatively small desk. I was wrong! This is the perfect size and works well for work (I'm not a gamer). I mainly wanted something wide enough to split the screen and work on 2 documents at once. I thought I would need a different stand but the stand it came with is very nice, and can be raised or tilted. I haven't tried all the monitor features yet, but so far everything seems GREAT!
Update - My fabulous monitor DIED just over 3 months after I bought it. First the speakers stopped working. Then I was on the phone with LG , doing some troubleshooting. He told me to unplug it and do a “hard reboot “. When I plugged it back up it wouldn’t come on!!! Power was clearly getting the the unit...but it wouldn’t light up. :-/ Since it was still under warranty they sent me a prepaid label to send it back. Fortunately I’d saved the original box and packaging. I’ll update again once I get it back....

Overall Great Monitor
Has a PBP mode that allows more than one input to be displayed on the same screen... So that means you could have 2 computers that share the same screen at the same time. I've never really been impressed by LG's color accuracy on any of their devices (phones / TV's that I've owned in the past) but this one doesn't really bother me too much. The darks are relatively dark and colors seem to stand out well. The software that emulates more than one monitor that comes with this thing is good, but if you're like me you'll end up frequently disabling it when it's not needed over some minor annoyances. As far as gaming goes... It seems to run very well. I expected to experience some pretty intense frame-rate drops after moving from a standard monitor but it seems like games are about as smooth with this monitor without changing graphics settings. I don't really see any advantage with 75Hz over 60 and in some cases my games look worse... but it's not a very big deal to run them at 60Hz. It comes with a clip for cable management and the stand seems fairly sturdy and secure. Overall a great monitor. I would have liked to see TruMotion incorporated into it but I'm sure not everyone would agree with me.

The color on this monitor is exceptional. The eye adjustment features and the built-in sound are also very high quality. What keeps me from giving this monitor a 5 star rating are three items:
1. In hindsight, I wish I'd gone with a 4K monitor, but could not find one I liked. I've mostly used Macbook Pro Retina displays for the past 5 years, and I find the max resolution on this monitor is just not as large as I'd expect on a 34" screen.
2. The on screen controls, especially for volume are a bit clunky to use. Even with the installed applications for monitor control right in the toolbar, every other sound output I use adjusts based on the volume controls on the laptop, but the monitor does not.
3. With the HDMI connections, the monitor "disconnects" occasionally. Typically reconnecting with a few seconds without much interaction, just moving the mouse. My previous monitors are all older using DVI, digital or even VGA connections. Somehow I blame HDMI for this behavior, as if the signal strength is variable.
I'll be doing more photography in the future, and I expect I'll appreciate the color and size of the monitor more with that use than with my current work.

Not a 75hz monitor. But still very good. The packaging will let the whole world know what it is.
If you plan on dropping the resolution some and making your games unrecognizable then TECHNICALLY it can get 75hz. Even with a new dp 1.4 and the hdmi it shipped with. Even with every option in the nvidia controls.
Have you ever been regretful with a product but still very happy with it? I thought I had found the sweet spot for size hertz and cost but yeah.... (but atleast the speakers are oustanding)
I still really enjoy the monitor and have no plans of returning it. And I strongly recommend getting the chrome plugin that stretches out youtube videos for ultrawides. Going from horribly thick black bars to a video covering the whole screen feels amaazziing at this size. The bezels are super thin and don't collect dust. every other part of this thing does though.
You'll need only 6 inches of space behind the screen for the arm. At its highest, the arm can lift the screen a smidge over 7 inches, making it now 21 and a half inches tall.
At its lowest setting the arm almost puts the thing on the desk just shy of almost 3 inches, making it 17 inches tall.
The legs jut out 3 inches infront of the screen while being just a bit wider than 19 inches.
Make sure when you open this thing that you take out the instructions first and read them over. If you set the panel down you might break the power button and the instructions will tell you how to avoid that.
Again I would strongly reccomend changing the shipping container of this thing or just making sure you are there for the delivery. It is highly conspicuous.

Great Monitor
Great picture and reasonable price. We've switched to LG (OLED) TVs at home (had Samsung) and I never touch a Viewsonic or other junk again - not worth the trouble. Got this for partner's shared office space; I'm told it had many admirers.

Prefect size for monitoring multiple stocks!
I purchased this monitor as a solution to packing the most screen real estate into a relatively small space. My computer is set up in a small nook, out of sight and out of mind from the rest of the house. Given the space, three monitors side by side wasn't an option, so I did the next best thing. This ultrawide monitor in a vertical configuration is perfect for my needs. Image quality is fine for my needs, HDMI in is an option, and I like the fact that it automatically sleeps and wakes on computer boot/shutdown. Limited on space but need a lot of screen? Try this out for size!

Super satisfied with purchase!
After much research I decided to go with the 34UM68 and haven't been more happier! Ordered and received within two days!
Gaming:
Bought with the intention to run my PS4 and it does not disappoint. Quality picture even with the lower 2560x1080 resolution and the speakers are surprisingly decent! Only played BF1 and Uncharted 4 and both games run well, no major complaints.
Macbook Pro Secondary Display:
Note for all Mac users - If you want to run this monitor in a non stretched 21:9 resolution (native 2560x1080 instead of default 1080p) you'll need to download SwitchResX for custom fitting. Tedious process but so worth it! Follow the process to disable Standard Integrity Protocol (SIP) and google 21:9 custom resolution settings for ultra wide monitors. There are a few youtube tutorials of how to use SwitchResX which are useful in setting up the right aspect ratio.
Only dislikes are the lack luster gloss on the back panel - matte would of been a better choice IMO and also the monitor has a vertical range of half a foot and tilt up / down but no swivel

Great bang for buck in 2019 !
Be careful !!! when you buy a LG monitor. I highly recommend looking up monitor model review before you buy any monitor to know exactly whats in it. SOME LG (cheap) products have 6 bit color even though they are advertised to be 8 bits. I bought one from best buy and it said it had 8 bit color but when I turned it on it looked weird so I checked online and it had 6 bit. I went and returned it and bought this one.! HOWEVER This one says its 8bit color and it certainly is. 300 nits is a must and this monitor does have that. Though if you have a bit more money I'd recommend a 3440 by 1440p monitor. This monitor will only get you 75 hertz if you're running display port with AMD graphic card. (have not tested but read from reviews) Via HDMI its 60 hertz which is fine for me. SO far its great.
