I have been using these daily in my office since Dec/2008. They are extremely durable and are still working just fine. I use them to listen to songs on you-tube/pandora while coding, and sometimes to talk on skype. The sound quality is fair, and is not comparable to the super-expensive headphones. I like them, and would recommend them to anyone.UPDATE OCTOBER/2011 : still working fine.

I was a little worried at first when reading some of the reviews, it doesn't matter if theres 50 good ones, that one bad review really stands out. i ordered the product anyways and to my delight it was everything i was looking for. the comfort is amazing (i like my whole ear to fit in the headset) they work great, they sound even better! If your looking for a sturdy headset for gaming, music or whatever the reason this is what your looking for! for the price the product is outstanding.They cancel out the background noise better then i'd hoped, and the bass is strong, but not overpowering. The one and only downside to this headset is there's no in-line volume control, but don't be lazy just adjust it manually :)

I am a student and this is my third headphone this year, I have to talk to my parents on skype frequently, and i have been looking for a headphone which suits my need. I found this headphone the best for me. Plus, it cancels the noise. Its sound quality is also awesome. Worth the money!

Haven't had them for too long so I can't say much about durability. Pretty comfortable headset, squeezes my head a little tight but I have been able to wear them for hours at a time without discomfort. Great sound isolation, blocks out all of the noise in my room well. Sound is good and I haven't had a complaint about the voice quality from any of my friends

I used brand names bose, sony and sennheiser headphones before and this one is equally good. Only cons I can say, if I want to lean on the chair the microphone part kind of comes in between. They could make the microphone part detachable so that I clould take it out while I am travelling. Works great with skype too. I recommend this product.

I'm surprised that nobody has complained about the limited volume available from these headphones. I have used other headphones with this same computer and had volume to spare, but I turned these headphones all the way up, and the volume was still too low for my old ears. I was also dissapointed to learn that there was no mute button. I found the earpieces comfortable and sound quality good, but again, not loud enough. I also thought the cord seemed flimsy compared to the heavier, Logitech cable I was used to. I will be sticking with Logitech from here on in.

This is the first headset I've bought in a long time (3-4 years), so I wasn't sure how it would feel after such a hiatus. KOSS's SB49 showed me how much I had missed.Looks/Construction:Very nicely made, plastic shell/headband and volume controls, looks fairly durable...only time will tell. The volume control is very conveniently placed, has good range, and is very useful for on-the-fly adjustments.Comfort/Sound:I used two sources of audio to test Comfort and sound quality: Music and games.MUSIC: One thing I noticed immediately was the strong bass presence. This is an excellent headset for ANY kind of music. I tried it with orchestra, rock, jazz, lounge and dance. Bass is very strong, nice highs+mids, I was able to hear flute and clarinet without having to strain. It's easy to wear these for hours without even noticing you had them on!GAMES: I tried the headset with three games: Red Orchestra, Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2. I was simply blown away at the quality of sound. Especially in Red Orchestra, I was amazed by the clear cracks of gunfire. The positional audio is okay, but there's no real dramatic positional effects. The rumbling of tanks and explosions was made very clear and enjoyable with the strong bass. Voice quality (from both characters and voice chat) is also very excellent.COMFORT: I usually play games for 2+ hours at a time, so wearing 'phones that deliver great sound quality without hurting my ears are a must. This headset does a pretty good job at this. It's a little heavy on the ears, and makes them sweat a LITTLE, and I usually have to take a small break every hour to rub my ears, but it's not bad at all, considering the excellent sound quality. The leather cushions around the ears make it a very satisfactory listening experience, and even have a slight noise-cancelling effect.THE MIC: This isn't something I've used often before, but now I use it all the time in my games! I recorded a few phrases in Audacity to test its quality/volume, and it delivers! Very good quality, no static at all. The ONLY thing I would have liked better is if the wire were more flexible so I could adjust it to my liking. But this is only a minor grievance.In conclusion, this is a great headset for a great price, quality sound+comfort, it will last you quite a while!!

I've owned a few headsets in this price range, so I know they can be fragile.I used the headsets very carefully for that reason, and after only 3 months after the purchase,the headset is already broken. The part that connects the ear part and the body part of the headsetbroke randomly without any pressure. It just broke and popped out (The ear part) while I was still wearing the headset.The sound quality isn't that bad for the price, but your ears get warm after 30 minutesand the headset is just not comfortable.Buy something else. You can get better headsets for $30. The mic quality was pretty bad also.

I've had this headset for about a year now, and it's awesome. I haven't had any issues with it, I use it on a regular basis (probably once a day) and the sound is just beautiful. It blocks out noises that are outside of the headphones...my husband who sits next to me while we game, will talk to me and I can't hear him ---he's about 4 ft away.It's pretty amazing, it puts you right in the middle of the game, I love this headset.The only annoying thing is that the cord is really long and always gets tangled up so this may be a con for some and a pro for others.Also the fitting, is really nice, it's big enough to go around *most* ears.Plus it has a plug for each the headset and mic, just in case you want to use your normal speakers for your sound and keep using your mic.I like this headset a lot... in fact, I just ordered my husband one for xmas 2009!

Lots of reviewers have given their feed back on how well this headset works. And it truly does work very well. The bass is really what sets it aside from other headsets. The comfort level is unsurpassed unless you have a very large head. Their is no pressure on the ears what-so-ever. The only thing is the heat that your body will generate wearing them. Of course you will get a custom to this after a wearing them for a while. But make no mistake your ears well get warm. Extremely well built in my opinion. So you might ask then why 4 stars??? Well the mic is not adjustable at all. The boom swings up completely and thats perfect but not in or out. Now... in its defense the mic performs very well. Crisp and deep sounds are flawless. I will be using them for normal functions on my PC but will also use them for virtual classrooms. There was one reviewer that mentioned not being able to hear your voice when speaking into the mic. Like cupping your hears or having water in them. This can be easily fixed by clicking on the speaker icon in your taskbar and checking the "MIC" box. Voila sound!!! Just like the effect when using a normal home phone. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it to all who want a quality headset.

I work from home and use Skype as my primary phone service. For the most part, these are worth the money. The headband is adjustable and comfortable. The over-ear drivers are well padded and provide a good degree of background noise reduction. The mic seems to pic up your voice well without being right in front of your face which is nice if you would like to take a sip of coffee while on the phone.Overall, they work just fine and if you're in the market you can't beat the price for overall comfort and quality.

I bought this model after seeing all the good reviews. I was a little hesitant because of the old "you get what you pay for" bit, but I'm happy to say after using it for 2 months now, they were right about is being great quality.It is comfortable and thus far I have used it up to a couple hours at a time with no problems. Quality all the way around.The only CON I can come up with is I do wish it had a mute button, but for the price I can willingly get by without it.Thanks and enjoy...

I've spent hours browsing stores and websites looking for a wireless headset like this that did not cost some ridiculous amount of money. After months of searching, and suddenly actually needing such a headset, I ordered this. I've since learned that the microphone jack on the front of my computer is not hooked up, but everything else about these headphones has been great.I use the headset primarily for Ventrillo for an online RPG (not an MMO, though I intend to do that too). The group has had no complaints about how I sound and have had no difficulty hearing anyone else.The microphone is perhaps a bit too sensitive. I have to turn off my desktop speakers when I'm using the headset with the boom lowered or I get massive feedback.The only real complaint I have is that this is a true stereo headset and the mic is mounted on the left earpiece. If I'm playing something where sound direction is important, this causes the cord to cross my body to reach the computer.

Like most headphones, Having them on for awhile in warmer weather makes your ears sweat. Sound quality is great including the mic. The wire is a single side wire and is thin but i hope is strong enough to last awhile. It uses a single slider volume control.

I bought these in October of '09. At first I was very pleased, but after an hour or so of use my ears were practically burning because they hurt so bad. For anyone who spends any time playing a computer game, an hour is not going to cut it. I can't adjust the volume too high without the speakers crackling, which ruins any music for me. Finally, the left speaker is starting to go. I didn't expect them to last too long, but I think three months is a bit ridiculous. My last pair was Logitech and was purchaed in '07 at around the same price, and lasted until I bought these. I'll stick with Logitech from now on.

My old Koss SB49 gave up after about two years of very hard use. I tried some other headsets but people said I sounded funny and was hard to hear. After getting another SB49 there were no more problems with people hearing me and I sounded right also. I use these for up to 14 hours per day, the comfort is great.

I use the headset for business and I like it overall. It is comfortable to wear for long periods, but I find it a bit frustrating that I cannot hear myself in the headphones as I could with my last headset. I feel like I'm talking very loudly to callers, so I'm going through a bit of an adjustment period with these.

Having been a Koss user for many years, when it was time to replace my worn headset with a new one, I automatically chose this Koss so I could also get the microphone. The first one came in and had intermittent problems with the left earpiece. After fooling with it for a couple of weeks, I finally sent it back for a replacement of the same model. The second one came in and was everything I could have hoped for. It has very good sound, and the mic seems to work well, also. I personally love the large foam earpieces because they cover my ears entirely, but that's a personal preference. I would heartily recommend this product.

I have a large hat size and thought maybe these might not be comfortable since they close all the way in the picture. I was wrong, they can be worn for hours at a time forgetting I even have them on. Produce good sound and base. Good volume control with the switch on the cord. For the price Its a buy at Amazon.

Pros: Sound quality great, comfortable even with glasses on.Cons: I couldn't hear my boyfriend talking to me from the next room. May be ideal for some, not for me. Also, if you have a macbook, the microphone won't work. As I learned the hard way, the port doesn't provide power to the mic, or something, long story short it won't work, and you need to get a usb headset.

Good ones:(i) Great mechanical design and robust.(ii) Low cost(iii) Deep bass(iv) Quality mic.(v) Volume control.Bad ones:(i) Earpices need to adjusted onto the ears for great bass.(ii) You will listen your own voice internally.I was looking for a headset with mic which would have a deep bass for listening to music and for movies as well as combined with mic for voice chat. This product is one of the latest ones by Koss and has really a good bass like Senheiser headphones.The down part: you will notice a considerable difference in the bass effect when readjusted the earpieces onto the ear. Maybe the bass producing part is not well positioned in the product or sponge cavities which fit into the ears are bigger (which really is, compared to Senheiser headphones). The mic and its positioning mechanism is perfect. Another problem which is really annoying is using this for voice chat. You will hear your own voice internally while speaking into the mic because the earpieces are well-fitted and surrounded the ear. The effect is like speaking while putting fingers into your ears. I was unaware of this but now realized, therefore, I would recommend you to use smaller earpieces for voice chat.For the sound quality I would give 5 stars.

I've just received these headphones today and was instantly amazed by how clear my music is through them. They surpass my old padded headphone by FAR! I'm very satisfied with this purchase. I recommend them.Update 10/22/09:After four month's use, I'm still pleased as punch with these headphones. They deliver better sound than I've gotten out of far more expensive sets. The sound quality is still superb, even at the highest volume. They are also more comfortable than any other headset I've owned. Highly recommended!P.S. I use these for Skype as well as music, and I'm told I come across crisp and clear on the other end!

I bought these headphones because I was moving abroad and didn't want the cheapest option available if I had to sacrifice comfort. I read the reviews on this headset and after using it a few times, agree that it a great value. Very comfortable, high-quality mic and earphones. I can set them on the table and just use the microphone from a distance of about a foot (and use computer speakers if Skyping) and it also works quite well. Very good for long or hands-free conversations.

This pair is easily worth a hundred dollars, and is quite a steal at this price. The only downside is that the headset itself hurts my ears a little after a couple hours of use. Great bass, great quality headset, and also serves as a pair of cheap quality earphones. Owned my pair for about six months now, and no problems whatsoever!

I like these. I do some voice recording and I listen. This headset fits my big head just right. The microphone is positionable. The base reproduction on this item is very heavy and good. I like it. At first when I got the product I was happy, but two things happened.My cubicle neighbor compared it to the koss portapro with me.What sounded great became muffled in comparison to the clarity of the other headphone. Also, after a while using it your ear starts hurting from the pressure.The mircrophone works great though.

These are my first headphone since coming to the US. and trust me they are really good. for the 35$ including shipping i have paid, i feel its worth every penny and more.The sound clarity is amazing, in fifa 2009 for the first time i could actually hear the rain drops during the football match, which usually drown with the crowd chants. i was amazed at that.During VOip calls with skype, again crystal clear coverage and the people on the other end also found the sound from my side very clear.I would recommend this product to anyone who asks me, lifetime warranty for the win!!

I bought these because I thought "no questions return guarantee and lifetime guarantee". If anything goes wrong, Koss replaces them. If you try them, there is no risk .I'm a podcaster. I use them 2-4 hours a day everyday 365 days a year.They have NEVER let me down. And for the money, the mic is the best you will find at the price.One note: If you have a large head. these will need some breaking in. Out the box, they are pretty tight around your head.

the mic arm is tough to bend into position, when your fold the headphone in on itself it doesnt stay folded and the ear cups flap around when moved from that position. the cord seems cheap, decent bass, i have a big head and it actually fits(can be adjusted) mic voice is 3 of 4 stars. good budget buy.

It blocks out some background noise. Comfortable fit,fits to ears nicely without hurting your head at all. Quality sound, microphone also works well. The swivel movement of the earpieces is nice sometimes, but can get annoying...seems like it may break easily, but so far are holding up fine. Overall, a good buy!

I was not particularly happy when this arrived, with one ear dead after two seconds. The replacement (thank you Amazon) arrived and is fine so far. For the price, though, I can get three pair of Frisbys which are a match in everything but isolation, and personally I find more comfortable. I wear glasses and have to stretch the over-head to maximum so my ear isn't uncomfortably squeezed between the glasses' earpiece and the headset ear surround. Headsets in general never seem to last more than a year, so I will not spend the money on Koss again. Someone else in the house likes them well enough to use them, fortunately.

Good sound, good mic, more comfortable than average, cute way of folding up. I like these and for about $30 I am satisfied. I need to adjust them on my ears every hour or so for comfort. Cheap headphones I have to adjust all the time. This is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 and $30 instead of $100. I use them for Rosetta Stone language software.

This is a very Inexpensive high quality set of Headphones. Its not as nice as my Tritton AXPRO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rnn0evOO7pg but it is all you'll ever need in a headset. It also has a wonderful Microphone with a abnormally large Puffy Pro grade wind guard on the end of the Boom.
