I was in need of a cheap headset to replace an aging Plantronics set which had broken, and decided to give the SB49s a try. I've had them just under a week and so far I'm rather happy with the purchase. My first impression was that it seemed like a heavy, solid headset. Compared to the Plantronics I do believe the audio quality is an improvement, and I've been told that over chat programs the mic is better as well (though I should mention that if I'm listening to anything over 3/4 volume it is audible through the mic, not sure if this is a sensitivity issue or just because they're powerful). They don't produce quite as much bass as the old headphones, but perhaps that's a good thing. Mid and highs are definitely a lot clearer and while gaming I'm noticing a lot more detail in the sounds around me. I am noticing two potential issues with the construction- The biggest being that while the mic has a good range of motion and will swivel both forward and backwards 90 degrees, it does seem to wobble on it's hinge. If I move my head around it shakes back and forth quite a bit but as long as you're not spastic I doubt you'd break it with normal use. The in-line volume control has no mute button / switch, and the volume control is a slider instead of a wheel. I find that the slider is somewhat loose, and even though it stays in whatever position you put it in, there is some play. The ear pads are large enough to cover my ears and I find them to be very comfortable even after 10+ hours on the computer. They do make my ears a little warm, but that doesn't bother me. I was also somewhat concerned about the width of the headset as some are too small to fit me comfortably, but I couldn't have asked for better sizing. All in all I'd say this is a great bit of hardware for the money, and the lifetime warranty is icing on the cake. If you're in the market for a reasonably priced gaming headset this is a fantastic option.

Had these 2 months and the mic went dead. They didn't go through any abuse or anything, just heavy use. The sound quality was good while it lasted, but 2 months is a pretty pathetic lifespan.

I have been using this headset for several days now, and I have no complaints. They are very comfortable to wear, even for an extended period of time. The sound isn't incredible, but better than you would expect for a $30 headset. If you're in the market for a high-end gaming headset, look elsewhere. But if you just need a more valuable buy, I would strongly recommend this product. It is a quality, functional headset that I enjoy using regularly.

I listen to music on my headphones all the time and needed one whose head frame wouldn't break. Most of the plastic ones break in under a year's time because really.. how many of us are patient when pulling it off of our heads. This headphone set is intelligently designed to stay flexible and last long. Its been made collapsible for people who carry their headphones with them on trips. I use them for periods of 2-3 hours at a stretch sometimes and I've found them to be very comfy. However a few grams lighter would have felt like heaven. Also a coiled wire to plug in would have made it shorter and nicer. That's why the 4 stars. The audio quality and mic are very good for the buck. It's been 4 months now and no issues whatsoever. I'm satisfied.

would give them 6*, for this amount of money probably the best deal, better than 300$ bosse, maybe not as quality made but again, for that kind of money the sound quality and noise canceling... don't regret at all buying them

One thing that is badly missing is an inline mute switch, which is key if using for conference calls. I have a small head, and these fit really tight. Also, my set had this odd oily smell to it. I used them for a few days, and have switched back to my old set these were meant to replace.

Honestly, I was really excited to replace my old, uncomfortable Logitechs with this. I have owned (very happily I might add) Koss products in the past that have lasted me several years with great quality, but this is not something I was happy with. My main complaint is the microphone. Well, it never worked, so I sent it back for another... that one never worked either. The odds of that happening SHOULD be INSANELY slim, so there is either a big quality control problem or I have some of the worst luck in the world. I'm not wasting my time trying to get another pair, any self-respecting company should not let this happen. Also, the microphone itself is pretty flimsy and it really doesnt go down as low as a normal person should want it, but it's not that big of a deal. The speakers are mediocre, I'm honestly not sure where some of the people rating this heard good ones and I'm not even much of an audiophile. Comfort is ok, but definitely nothing to brag about there either. I could not see myself using these for an hour without having to take a break, and I consider myself fairly resilient. Overall I'm pretty upset that these didn't work for me since I had such high hopes, but I guess you get what you pay for...

I really liked these headphones. The mic was also great for Speech Recognition use - even when there was a lot of background noise. To my huge disappointment, however, I had to return them because the sound started fading out in one ear or the other after just a few seconds of use. Double checking the connections to my laptop provided no cure. I had never returned anything to Amazon.com before and was surprised at how easy it was (Thanks Amazon). I'm going to try the Koss SB45 as a replacement. I really like the Koss headphones that I have owned over the years. I just got a bad set, I guess.

EDIT: Its now just over 6 months that I've owned these and the plastic that holds the ear piece to the head strap broke, rendering the headset unusable. I looked into the warranty and it would cost about $10 to replace them (about a 3rd the cost of new) so I think I'm going to end up just getting a different brand instead.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I have owned these headphones for 4 months now and would consider myself a heavy user. I use them on a daily basis, typically for anywhere between 30 minutes to several hours in a sitting and use them for voice communication, music, movies, games, etc. I also have had a lot of experience with lower-end headsets breaking frequently so the lifetime warranty really sealed the deal for me for this particular headset.Comfort (4 out of 5): This headset definitely has a snug fit, its tight enough to block outside noises fairly well yet not so tight as to cause any real pain or discomfort (I've used headsets in the past that are almost unbearable to wear for more than 30 minutes at a time). If you do plan to wear these at length then you'll probably need to adjust them from time to time or take them off to allow your ears to 'stretch' out a little as they will be pressed to the side of your head while wearing these.Ease of Use(4 out of 5): These are very easy to use, just plug them in and go. There is a simple volume slider attached about 1 foot down the cord from where it connects to the headset. The only thing that is lacking is a way to mute the microphone on the headset itself.Sound Quality (5 out of 5): The sound quality in my opinion is very good. Everything comes to me as crisp and clear. The snug fit of the headset helps to cut down on some room/background noise and really focuses the sound right into your ear.Microphone (3 out of 5): This is where the headset fails a little for me and I have mixed feelings about this. For most people this is a non-issue and the mic quality is adequate for general use, gaming chat, etc. However, if you're going to be using the headset for voice recording, voice recognition programs, or voice chat programs and need good voice isolation then you may want to pass on this headset and go for something with a better mic.

This is my first time writing a review but people need to be warned about this Product.I just received them about 10 minutes ago. I opened the box, at fist glance I kinda liked the design they looked sturdy and somewhat sleek for such bulky headphones. I put them on my head and OUCH they really pinched my head and the top part of my ears against my skull. I could bother to break them in if it was just discomfort but this was just painful. (BTW yes i have a big head i am over 6ft so if you are regular sized or small you might not have pain and would just be left with discomfort)no matter how i adjusted it, it wouldnt cover my ears and the bottom part would never rest on my head. i lowered the mic and it doesnt go lower then my cheekbone....(again yes i have a big head) then i plugged them in and first I plugged the mic in the audio out port since it has black rings on the jack and i put the audio jack in the mic since it had red rings.... after realizing my mistake i reversed it only to realize the headset DOESN'T WORK. sending them back immediately.I am the kind of guy who looks for quality and practicality and these headphones come no where close. If you are thinking of getting these i would suggest you just get some other pair of headphones.

I bought this headset about a year ago and yesterday it broke to parts! I did not do anything special, just trying to put it on my head! My friend's same headset also broke like 2 months ago. That one also broke from the same spot, the connection of the upper part to the ear part. Simply do not waste your money, KOSS is a really good brand but not this specific model!

...which, in this case, ain't much.I ordered these headphones after I started having audio quality problems with my latest computer, chalking it up to my current used-but-abused headset - plenty of people seemed happy with it, and the factsheets certainly painted this as an equivalent successor. As it turns out, only the microphone itself had gone, and the old headset's headphones were still in ship-shape order; considering the poor quality of these headphones, for that I'm particularly thankful.As a BASIC, BAREBONES headset used primarily for work where utmost audio quality isn't a nessecity, the Koss SB49 will work just fine: the microphone is functional and picks up audio quite well (this may even be the headset's best feature, in fact) and its ability to swivel in either direction from its storage position allows the headset to be worn either way as compared to some of the fixed-side designs for other headsets.HEADPHONE quality, however, is another issue, and anybody whose work or pleasure involves high audio fidelity will want to stay clear of these. As a dedicated electronic gamer, music aficionado and all-around electronics junkie, the quality drop-off from my last headset, a Sennheiser 150, hit my ears like a sack full of bricks with a slight static charge. While the audio itself doesn't immediately suffer, there's a certain tinny, electronic flavor of sorts when listening - it's as if someone made a recording of the original file and saved it at a slightly-lower quality.Some design elements of this headset also make it rather uncomfortable to wear - while the folding nature makes it great for storage, the manner in which it's set up is going to cause the cups to press down around the ears a LOT more than non-folding headphones, which makes them quite uncomfortable to wear until (if ever, even) you're able to break the headset in. The in-line volume control is also very close along the cord's length from headset to audio jack, and it's oftentimes resting on your arm and swinging around whenever you move your head.While this headset will do the basic job of computer audio and voice communication just fine, those looking for any kind of a serious gaming or music headset are going to want to pass this headset up. Sennheisers and the like may cost a pretty penny, but the high level of audio quality is well worth the price.

I bought this headset when my old one broke about a year ago. I have absolutely no complaints. The sound quality is fantastic, the microphone works like a charm, the earphones are noise-cancelling, and they are very comfortable to wear. I have a breakdown of what I use it for and how it works below, but first let me say that if you're looking for a new headset, BUY THIS ONE.I have a few things that I use this for:1. Playing videogames using voice programs to talk with teammates.If you're looking for a headset for gaming, you couldn't ask for a better one. The microphone works effortlessly, and on many of my games I didn't even have to adjust the sound settings in order to make it work. But it isn't just the microphone that makes this headset amazing for gaming, but the audio portion as well. You can really feel like you're in the game; it's kind of like watching a movie with surround sound. I originally used this headset to play Left 4 Dead, and then Left 4 Dead 2, and believe me when I say that it is a whole new gaming experience with a good headset.2. Listening to new music.The sound quality is so good on these headphones that it almost makes me sad that I wasted money on an expensive pair of speakers. When I first got these, I listened to a lot of songs and discovered a whole new experience - the sound was better, and I heard things I never heard before. I'm sure that you can get better sound quality if you want to blow hundreds of dollars or something, but for the price this is by far the best sound quality I've ever experienced.3. Talking via skype and similar programs to friends.This is a simple use that can be done with virtually any headset, but this one does the trick just as well. :)For other uses, I cannot speak to their efficiency, but they do all of the things mentioned above very well.As far as the question of durability goes, I said above that I've had this headset just about a year now. I can honestly attest that it looks and performs just like it did the day I got it.As I said, no complaints whatsoever - in fact, these have exceeded my expectations in so many ways that it's difficult to believe that I paid $30 for them. My recommendation: buy this headset.

Let's face it, I a computer nerd. I play a ton of video games and not only do I play them, I commentate competitve video game play for a youtube audience of about 15,000 people. I was in serious need of a headset that had great sound quality, great mic quality, and a decent level of sturdiness should I break out into a fit of nerd rage after losing a game. I've had other models of headsets (including the SB45 version of this headset) and I couldn't seem to get all 3 attributes I was looking for. I was a little hesitant at first after my previous Koss headset mic died but this model was actually cheaper so I decided to give it a try.It's been about 6 months now since I got the headset and it is still going strong. Its very comfortable unless you go for hours without taking it off at which point it may start to feel a bit heavy. The mic rotates in and out of your way in a very convenient manner so that you can get the mic out of your field of vision if you don't need it. The mic quality is very very good, especially compared to one of those long stem stand up mic's that sit on your desktop in front of you. You can easily tell the difference in my videos from pre-headset to post-headset like night and day. It should be noted that like any headset, you may need to move the mic up to your nose level to avoid popping your "p's" which is caused from the higher pressure coming from your mouth when pronouncing words like "pop". Moving the mic out of that area will reduce those occurences, but that is something that happens with ANY microphone that is close to your mouth unless you have a screen to absorb the energy. Lastly, the in-line volume adjuster is awesome for quick muting or tweaking of volume to the headphones without having to go to your desktop to adjust through the PC mixer.This headset is sturdy with great sound and convenience. I highly recommend it for anyone using it to talk on ventrillo, team speak, skype, speech recordings (non-singing), or just for playing games. GG!

The sound quality of these headphones and microphone are excellent, very full and warm, not at all tinny. The headset is comfortable and the microphone swivels and has some small degree of flexibility. It seems very well made. lightweight but not at all flimsy. I bought this set for my son after first buying a Logitech ClearChat Premium headset but I never even tried the Logitech set, I returned them after reading the horrible reviews. These Koss SB-49 headphones seem like they are probably similar to the SB-45 except that they have the added in-line volume control slider, which seems like a handy feature. The people who complain that they can't hear the microphone through the headset, or that the headset isn't working in their on-line games, probably only need to fiddle with their Windows sound settings. I found that I had to go through my advanced Windows sound volume control options on the desktop computer to show the microphone control for both recording and playback, and make sure the mute box wasn't checked on either tab. That solved the problem of hearing the microphone in the headset rather than just the head. However, that will only work if your computer has those advanced volume controls- my laptop doesn't seem to have those. Also, my son at first could not seem to get the microphone to work in his on-line game, and at first it wasn't working in Windows sound recorder either. I at first couldn't figure out the settings to make that work, but I finally stumbled through the Windows control panel and ran the Windows troubleshooting sound wizard to fix the microphone settings and, voila, it works perfectly now. Now, we can both hear ourselves through the microphone as we speak, record, and play on-line, and others on-line can hear us as well. There are no instructions either on-line or in the box, so I think it would be helpful if Koss included some troubleshooting steps for setting it up with Windows, instead of having me stumble around frustrated for a week. I do like that it doesn't take up a USB port- it uses the headphone (stereo) and microphone jacks. Koss also has a lifetime "no-questions-asked" guarantee; returning the set is probably a nuisance and I think there is a handling fee of some kind, but it's still a nice gesture and increases the confidence.

This gizmo works ALMOST as expected - it has a comfy feel, the earphones are big enough, the padding is soft, the incoming sound quality is OK.However, there is no feed from the microphone into the headset! I can barely hear myself, which creates a tendency to talk way too loudly. That's a major turn-off when Skyping. Hence, I took off two stars.

I got these headphones last Christmas and they were completely awesome. However my job requires extensive travel (i.e. packing up every 2-20 days for 6-10 months out of the year) and after a year of use, the headphones have started to crap out on me. These headphones are designed to be collapsible ergo portable. If you are someone who travels regularly or are considering packing these headphones with you on a regular basis, then you should either consider another brand/style of headphones or be willing to accept the moderate cost of these headphones on a yearly or bi-yearly basis. Otherwise, these headphones are reasonably comfortable with decent sound quality and a relatively compact travel size for an full-size set of headphones. Sound quality for the microphone is decent but may or may not have started deteriorating before the connections to the earpieces started to deteriorate. Since I was not on the receiving end of voice communications from this headset and did not frequently check my sound quality as such I cannot accurately assess that quality.

If you wear glasses then I highly advise staying away from these. They clamp very tightly on the head and the cushions are only moderately soft, so frames will be digging into your skin. It becomes very painful after a while. This headset is also not very suitable for large ears.The sound quality is above average but not amazing. The microphone is fine, but my friends over Ventrilo say I sound no different than when using my $5 headset.If you have small ears and don't wear glasses, then this isn't a bad headset for the price. I on the other hand regret every dollar.

I ordered these headphones because I wear hearing aids and wanted to block out other sounds from interfering with the conversation. I primarily use them for Skype and they seem to work really well. Others say I sound clear via the microphone, but I may have to raise it some more, as some can hear my breathing. Have used for two weeks on both work and home computers. I wanted the non-USB headphones as I wanted more control over sound levels.Update! As others have reported, my microphone died about a year after purchase. If I have time will investigate or splice in another mic.

I like the size of the headphone/mic. The quality of the audio is OK. The battery life is rated at 6hours. Seems like it lasts more like maybe 2 hours. Otherwise the controls work well.

I bought this headset to make voice recordings and I think it works pretty well for this purpose, the recording quality is pretty good, not thin or crisp.Construction and build quality is average to pretty good so far.Headset fits pretty good on my head, but is not the best fit, and they tend to squeeze a little on my ears (because the ear cups are either too small or my ears are too big) so that after a few hours of use I need a break. The SB49 also blocks out ambient noises so you hear the music better than the noise around you.The mic comes out on a rather stiff arm, but it is bendable and since it is quite sensitive you have quite a bit of room to re-position the mic where it doesn't bother you. It can also swing up or down to keep it completely out of your field of vision.Sound quality is not that good, the bass is there but it sounds hollow somehow, and overall sound reproduction is not as well balanced as I would like.I have another headset from Sennheiser that sounds much better, but they are also a bit more expensive and they don't have a mic.However, the most important thing here for me has been recording quality and that has been pretty good, otherwise you may want to spend some more one something else.One IMPORTANT side note: This headset will not work with most Mac computers because most Macs are "line in" and not "mic in"!! Line in means the signal (mic) is powered, un-powered sources like this headset will be completely silent. You will need a little USB sound adapter like the one from Syba running at $8 or so to save the day. Then in System settings choose the correct input/output settings.

Have been trying to find an over the head headset that covers both ears. In the general market place for cell phones there really are few choices. In my work environment and in my convertible the noise level makes it difficult to hear at times. With both ears covered and using this head set and the necessary adapters (Headset Buddy: PC Headset to 3.5mm Smartphone Adapter: Convert Dual 3.5mm to 3.5mm, PC Computer Headset to iPhone, Blackberry, Droid, Palm, Samsung, LG, HTC ) the solution has been good for me.I suspect many women because of their "do's" may not like the over the head feature as the ear phone clamp solidly around the ears, not just sitting on the ear. For me it was a good solution for using the cell phone in noisy environments.No on has complained of poor sound quality as I have with the blue tooth or the single boom headsets.This was a great cost effective solution for me.

I bought it for my teenage son some 5 months ago. He used it for gaming and internet communication and liked it. Recently, it broke off at the right swivel hinge. I glued it back together with Epoxy glue, so it's OK now. Then I decided to take a listen. Being an audiophile myself and using two high end headphones for listening to mostly classical music and some jazz and pop, I am pretty picky as to the fidelity of sound reproduced by any device. Well, I found the sound lacking its depth in lows and middle range, and precision in reproducing highs, while the bass is not nearly as deep as they are suggesting in their product description. But overall, having in mind that this is a relatively inexpensive general purpose product, the sound is quite acceptable for general listening on a well-adjusted HD sound system with an up to date audio driver.Then I tried recording my own voice while using the mike. I found it of a sufficient quality, suitable for internet communication, dictation and similar voice applications, definitely not suitable for any kind of music recordings, not even for karaoke. Overall impression was pretty good. I think it's a decent quality product and would deserve a strong 4-star rating, if not its breaking up for no apparent reason, after being used at a desk only (no running, jogging, exercising with it, no taking outside, no lying with it in bed ever, just using at the desk). They need to use a stronger, thicker plastic, especially at the points of higher tensions.UPDATE: After a bit more than one year of a light use, microphone quit working. Headphones still working fine.

These were, by far, the best headset I'd used in the < $50 range. They carried sound well, be it music, voip calling, or audiobooks. They cancelled out all noise perfectly.However...It is not the most sturdy thing in the world. The hinge on one of the earpieces (which was plastic), broke off while folding it to put it away. I am a very heavy, and mobile, user, so if there were any weakness in the device, it was bound to break eventually, but if you're a heavy user who takes his headphones with him during travel, commute, etc., you may want to look at a sturdier headset.

They are cheap and they work well, decent base but not overpowering, nice sound quality. The mic is very nice in terms of quality and it also is easily used for voice recognition software, the whole thing is very flexible... unless your REALLY harsh with headsets... you shouldn't break these at all. They warm your ears up alot, to a point where they get uncomfortable.. but being that it is winter right now... that makes walking outside with these on very cool, keeps my ears warm. I definately like these and would recommend them to anybody.

sound quality is excellent, but ... sizing. they are too big to sit on my girlfriends head and the circumference of the earphones is too small and puts weight on her ear cartilage, making them uncomfortable for her to wear. there is a little play if your head is narrower in width, but if it is wider, they can not adjust for it. Creative labs has a headset that fixes these issues, but costs twice as much.

Easy to use in Ubuntu Linux, and works great with Windows Steam games. The headphones block out ambient noise, have trouble hearing anything but the computer. Mostly not a bad thing.

After trying lots of Logitechs and even the twice-as-expensive Creative Fata1ity, I could never find a headset that didn't just give me a headache from wearing it for hours. I had high hopes from the Fata1ity but it simply wasn't comfortable and that detachable mic didn't always work the way it was supposed to. Enter this headset. I bought one over a year ago for myself after my Fata1ity died and the earcups are so soft, the band on top as well, that I could wear it for hours and never even know it was there. My husband immediately wanted to toss his not-so-reliable headset and use a K-OSS too! It was and still is the perfect headset for me and for him. I had my old one for over a year until my hubby fat-footed it and crushed it, so I bought a new one for him, then for me. Mine started cutting out a week after I got it and so I sent it back and got another one, free shipping thanks to Amazon. Great product, great service, and I'm a happy customer of 2 years and will keep coming back for THIS headset every time.PS - Mic quality is pretty good and I'm not a sound freak (audiophile) so I think the sound is just fine. I play WoW and it's never bothered me.

I purchased for use with computer gaming and they work great. That along with Amazon's excellent service and price are all I could ask for.

I thought I had problems with the sound card since none of my mics worked with it. As it turned out, the sound card just needed a reinstalled driver. Now every mic I have but this one works. Probably just a bad headset.

This thing felt like a clamp on my regular sized head. After a while wearing it my ear ached really bad even after I removed them. I tried bending them really hard but that didn't help and they just snapped right back in position. I wrote to the manufacturer but got no response. They hurt so much I just threw them out. I wouldn't wear this same model again if they paid me. I've never experienced this much discomfort with headphones. This will be my last Koss purchase.

I owned these Koss headphones for over two years. My only gripe was the tightness of the fit. It's something I was never able to get used to. I was happy with the sound quality, both of the earphones (those large cushions really helped block out ambient room noise) and the microphone.Sadly, though they served me well, the plastic hinges of the headphones were not able to stand up to my daily use. It seems there was a trade off made between robustness and the complex folding mechanism of this design. I'm not soured on Koss, but just like everything these days, don't get too attached to them. Plastic breaks.

This headphone is of excellent quality and very beautiful. I need a headphone with microphone for online chatting, and also be of good sound quality for listening to music. I searched a lot, and finally decided to buy this one, and I am very satisfied. It is also very interesting that this headphone can be folded to take smaller space, which was a big surprise when I got this product.

First of all I'd like to note that most users will probably not experience the problems that I had. Personally since I have a pretty big head and wear glasses I've found Koss SB49 quite uncomfortable. The headphones are very tight around your head and I had to try and stretch the headband part to make it more loose. They really press on your ears, and that with the added effect of my glasses made wearing these headphones for long periods of time painful.The size of the "cans" is quite enough height- and width-wise, but there could be more padding since the headphones aren't very "deep" and if you have big ears that might be a problem as well (luckily they fit me OK in this regard).I had been using Philips SHP805 headphones for the last 4 years and I must say those were much more comfortable than my new Koss SB49. There was more padding and it was softer, the headband was much bigger and it didn't "squeeze" my head like Koss SB49 does. My ears didn't get hot while using them either.As for the sound quality, I have zero complaints here. It sounds cleaner and clearer than my old headphones I just mentioned. The closed can design blocks outside sounds pretty well which is great for gaming. I was also able to use the mic without any problems and everyone told me the sound was very clear (unlike the desktop microphone I had been using before).

I am about to test the Koss Lifetime Warranty on this product.Bought in December 2009, the microphone went out within 3 months (but I rarely used it anyway), last month the left hinge snapped off and it limped along until it finally broke today.This pair of headphones have been OK. I do not believe I would purchase another pair.I do wish it were a USB connection.UPDATE:Sent them back with the $6 check for S & H, new set sent back within 5 working days. Awesome service from Koss.

The audio quality is alright, may not be the best with this price range but it's alright. Weak bass, lack of clarity but it's good enough for chatting. Not so good for music.The headset is rather tight. Not painful but not comfortable for long wearing.The coverings went off quite fast with white peal offs noted after 6 months.Despite the build looks sturdy, it broke after 6 month of use. Be careful of the plastic piece connecting the ear cuff with the body. It can be bent, weakened and break later, that's my case. Repair requires 6USD + the shipping cost to the repair center.The wire protection is a bit thin inside. A few of my previous headsets broke because of that. This one does not seems better or worse.Not recommended for frequent users.

I bought one pair of these about a year ago for use with my amateur radio transceiver. I liked it so much, I started using it with my iPhone and for Skype calls on my computer. Recently, I purchased a second one so that I don't have to keep switching it around between devices.The sound quality for voice is excellent. It compares well to $100+ communications headsets I have owned.

I have been through several headsets for use with computer and phone, so decided to go with something that should cover both. I can listen with comfort to computer or use to talk on phone with Headset Buddy Adapter: PC Headset to Phone Adapter PC35-PH25 - Use Computer Headset with Home/Cell Phones - Convert Dual 3.5mm to 2.5mm and works great.I do wish had a microphone volume adjustment with certain calls it would be helpful to add additional volume.UPDATE 10/25/2011 BROKE JULY 2011After repeated use, knowing the microphone boom construction was plastic, I always treated with care. In the end, not with enough care, it broke at the base connection to earphone. Another annoyance to note after some use, when trying to adjust placement of microphone it never stayed in place, the flexible rubbery/plastic boom would not stay in one spot.Recently purchased another brand name that cost a little more than these, after a month of use with those I will go out on a limb and say will last considerably longer (see more recent review of headphones).previous rating for this product was a 4 now down to a 2 for overall construction (microphone boom overall).

I'm a gamer and I'm really hard on headsets. I go through a LOT due to durability issues. I've tried headsets that are billed as "gaming" headsets, but I've found it doesn't really seem to make a difference where durability is concerned. I chose to try this one out because it looked like it might be comfortable and it has an in-line volume control. While I really loved the sound quality and comfort of this headset, it didn't stand up to being put on and removed a lot. After using it a short while, the flexible arm on the right ear piece snapped with no way to repair it as I was removing the unit from my head. I find it really irritating when movable parts are made out of cheap plastic. I can see it on stationary pieces, but not where there is a lot of movement and friction.One thing I really liked about this item was that it was very good at deadening noise outside the headphones. For the price, it was a very nice item. I liked it so much that I even considered buying another just like it... the only thing that stops me is the fear that again it will break on me and I will have wasted my money once more.

Durability: Great, flexible. The mic can rotate up parallel to the headset for ease of travel.Mic Quality: Amazing. Had a Logitech mic and the mic on this headset is much better quaity.Sound: Great. Would've liked them to be more soundproof (which they aren't) but moreso than normal portal heaphones

I've owned many Koss Earphones, both stereo and quad, but over the past 5 years have moved to other "lightweight" mp3 type ear bud and stereo phones, like Sennheiser.Recently I started doing Internet DJ Radio, and needed a headphone with microphone. I looked at the Sennheiser and Logitech headsets, but wanted to give Koss another chance. Being an "audiophile" at heart, always loved the quality and durability of Koss earphones. After doing some research on all headsets, the Koss stereo phones had the best quality of sound, both for listening as well as having the microphone quality, and still being lightweight.After getting these stereo phones, was pleased with not only the comfort, but how light they are. The quality of sound is excellent (as you would expect from a professional earphone, and from Koss), and the microphone is very sensitive (though Koss is not know in the audiophile world for recording, these earphones are an excellent introduction of a company not known for their microphones).I will be enjoying using these earphones for many years, and considering that I still have audio earphones, from Koss, that I purchased almost 15 to 20 years ago, working, this is by no means, a small statement.These stereophones "feel" robust, as you would expect from a Professional Earphone. The microphone boom allows you to move it up out of the way when not needed, and the swivel mount for the boom is even on a form of shock absorber, which you wouldn't expect, but makes these communication stereophones in a much higher quality bracket than you would think for the price. The closed ear cup gives excellent isolation for the microphone (which I might add, when I took off the earphones, the microphone actually caused feedback).Final Word: If you need a pair of earphones with microphone, you can't beat this price, quality, and companies reputation. Even if you only need a professional pair of headphones, these can't be beat either.

These head phones are pretty comfortable and have very good sound quality. Good bass as well as treble. The microphone is very sensitive and picks up sound well. I just bought it recently, so I cannot comment on the durability. Overall these head phones from Koss offer good quality for the price.

I find the bass not quite as good as I expected, I also find that it depends on how they are connected to the computer, I also have the Koss USBDongle Adapter so I can plug into work or home.The usb adapter seems to give it better bass at work.The Mic is kind of flimsy, and it is hard to keep it as close as I'd like.
