I got this memory for my Dell optiplex 260 desktop. The product installation was a breeze. Take out the old memory and put in the new ones and turn on the system. The memory was immediately recognized and I could see the difference in speed in running my applications immediately. Best product for the money.

I've been using this memory in my Dell desktop for a couple weeks now and all seems to be working well. Programs load faster and I am able to have more applications open at the same time. I am not sure if this has happened to other buyers, but the shipping of the product by Amazon was very poor. They boxed the memory into a very large box and threw a couple air pillows into the package. When I got the package, the box was scrunched, and both memory sticks were out of their small memory package and just bouncing around inside the box. So much for the electro-static protection. I was not happy. They need to re-train their shipping staff. Would have been safer to just mail it to me in a darn envelope....

It is a fine product and meets the specification. However, there are certain computers, like my Dell Dimension 4600, where depending on the clock speed of the computer the memory operates below the 400 MHZ rating. In my case 330 MHZ. Again not related to the memory. I installed it succesfully without any difficulty.

This was delivered just a little over 24 hours after I ordered online. So it was fast and I was happy to receive it so quickly. Unfortunately I spent the better half of the evening trying to get my computer up and running after it shut down several times because apparently, it is not compatible as they said it would be or the memory is defective. I have experience with installing memory and always following instructions, doing exactly as it says, reading labels checking for compatibility but as of right now I am very disappointed in this product. It does not work for my computer.

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 and it had (dare I admit it?) only 256 MB of RAM. When I bought it a couple of years ago, the speed seemed great; but it began to seem sluggish compared to my "work" computers. When I realized how little RAM I had, I went looking for a RAM upgrade. By using a large commercial search engine whose name begins with "G," I found out what types would fit my computer with 2 clicks (including the one on "G" telling it to "go.")I had never done anything "under the hood" of a computer before (even though I am an engineer -- mechanical type!). Putting in the memory board was a snap. When I plugged the computer back in and started it up, no action was required -- it just recognized and began using the additional RAM. The difference in speed was immediate and dramatic. Programs run much faster, it's very noticeable.No problem with shipping. Shipped from Amazon, came quickly, no damage.I couldn't be happier with this product.[Update on 2-Sep-2009:] I just bought a second one of these memory boards to fill the second memory slot on my computer (the previous board was 256MB.) It also works perfectly. The difference in speed is not as dramatic as the first one (258MB to 1.25GB) but it's noticeably faster. Great product.

Slapped this in my Shuttle XPC to go to 2 total gigs...And...yep, it worked. There's probably better/faster RAM, and there's probably worse/slower RAM. But this was inexpensive and it worked, so I can't complain.

RAM chip quality is one of the key components that contributes to stable system performance. Kingston has always offered the highest-quality RAM components -- I won't use anything else.I used to work in a lab where RAM upgrades were routine. One of the managers thought he would save his project team some money by using much cheaper memory chips (by Crucial). All of a sudden most of the machines started getting the blue screen of death. I performed some testing, performing the exact same operations on the same machine using A) Crucial memory and B) Kingston memory. In all tests when using Crucial memory, the system got the blue screen. In all tests when using Kingston memory, the system was stable.I trust Kingston and won't use anything else.x_hobbes

I ordered two chips. One worked fine and the other one didn't. Amazon did send a replacement and generated a mailing label for me to return the bad one. I had to pay the postage for the return but the replacement chip arrived quickly and worked fine.The product is well the worth the price but when you mail-order chips, there's no way to test them before you buy it. Anyway my PC is happily running with 2GB memory rather than 1 GB now. The extra GB does improve performance, especially when running graphics intensive games.I would've given it 5 stars if wasn't for the bad chip that had to be replaced.

I purchased two of these RAM sticks since my motherboard supports Dual Channel. The manual recommended this model number for 1 GB of dual channel capable RAM. Though your mo-bo manufacturer may recommend slightly different specs for your RAM, Kingston is a great choice if they have what you need.

RAM is RAM is RAM...thats what some people say. There is some truth to that statement. ok, so RAM is a utilitarian item that we all need and cant do without. But how much do you need to spend for utilitarian items ????If you look at the RAM market, there are all kinds of prices for basically the same thing. How much you want to spend is up to you; but why pay more than you have to ??? If you want to pay Rolls Royce money for a Subaru, thats your choice. I'd rather pay for what I'm getting, and not more for some BIG name. ValueRAM is value for your bucks, it's also made by Kingston. It is what it is, with no hype to get you to spend more than its worth. Its your money, why give it away ???

Amazon is not honest with its inventory status. I placed an order because it said it has this item in stock. I received an email a week later telling me the item is not available and they had to delay my order. My shipment order in the account, however, is set to 'In Transit'. I have used Amazon very often, but this time, Amazon has disappointed me big.

Had previously bought a no-name competitor's RAM upgrade, but my Dell machine refused to deal with the quirky upgrade. It was RMA'd quickly.Next, I purchased the Kingston 512 pair--which was detected quickly, no problem, in XP Home OS. The fit for the RAM was a wee bit snug, but the motherboard just flexed a bit to accommodate the new memory. Very stable performance, even after years (!) of usage.Have had success with Crucial, Corsair, and of course Kingston brands in upgrading the RAM my Dell machines (owned six in the last ten years).

I have an eMachines T3104 and decided to upgrade to Windows Vista Premium. I had already changed the CPU to a full AMD Athlon, got a AGP eGeforce 6200 LE graphic card, 1 GB Ram (Kingston), a 480 watt power supply but after the upgrade my memory usage was 1.1 GB. This caused some lag on some tasks. I decided to max out the Ram and got the 2GB. I'm glad I did. This budget machine now has fast boot up and runs Windows Vista with Aeros with no issues. It maybe overkill to upgrade instead of waiting and buying a preinstalled new system but I don't want a new system until the Quad cores are established and Windows Vista 64-bit is more mature. Had the memory in place for over a month and it's still going.UPDATE: 7/03/2007--Still going strong without any problems!!! Still recommend this product. Update: 12/2/2012 - Still holding up after three different operating system switches. Very Reliable.

Exactly what I ordered, easy snap out old RAM, snap in new RAM, just like it is supposed to work. Came well packaged. Better price than competition, but shipping was a tad high. Did what I wanted it to do, upgraded from 2GB of RAM to 4GB of RAM, enabled me to upgrade to Windows Vista with no slowdown in system performance. Baseline Vista takes ~1.3GB of RAM on my system w/o Aero, ~2.3GB of RAM with Aero. Leaves me with enough overhead to operate any application, including video games without stressing memory.

The package was four days in getting here, but was in good shape when it arrived.The cards went in without too much trouble, just need to develop the finesse to hit those tiny slots and get them well seated.Turns out I have four slots, so now I have 2.5 G of memory.Noticeable improvement in load times of VS2005, and some web stuff.

HPs are notorious for compatibility issues, but this module slot right in without a problem. I already had 512MB and this 1GB raised the total to 1.5GB.Highly recommended. Put into HP A450Y Desktop.

Very pleased with Kingston products. Even the value RAM does the trick. My computer is running smooth without any issues with this ram upgrade. Might not be the fastest, but handles everything I've thrown at it so far. Been able to utilize up to 1.2 GB of RAM with several large RAM hogging applications running. System remained stable. I was desperate to get more RAM for my system. And so I bought 2 1-GB chips. Installation was a snap, and there was a significant difference in speed (compared to the 512 MB I originally had). And I had no problems with delivery. The extra few bucks I spent on overnight shipping was well worth it.

Not much to discuss here, the sticks went in and they work. My computers's performance is much improved with the new memory.Would not normally have purchased RAM from Amazon (I usually go to newegg or whatever) but I had a gift certificate. In reality, the price at Amazone was about the same for the same quality anyway, so next time I need RAM I'll definitely give Amazon a look, too.

I was concerned that my computer would work after adding 1Gb of memory due to it having 512MB of memory on board. It came configured with two Kingston 256MB sticks of ValueRam memory. I removed the stick of 256MB out of slot one and placed it into slot three and put the 1GB stick into slot one. My computer booted-up perfectly and it is running much better. It wasn't the cheapest memory I found but, I want to avoid any conflicts due to mixing brands(caused by differences in timing). When your case is open it would be an excellent time to clean the dust out of it. I clean my case every six months, it's surprising how much dust accumulates inside a computer.
