Memory works as adverised.If you do regular back-ups, like you should be doing, the additional memory is a real time saver.I will definitely be certain to have enough memory in all future electronics.

Over the years, I've worked on hundreds of computers and updated memory numerous times. I'm partial to the Crucial brand myself, but have experienced no problems over time with bargain mods from Patriot and Kingston. I would not, however, buy a brand that is not well known because so much of your computer processing relies on good quality memory.Low prices and availability via Amazon make this purchase a no brainer, especially for older memory types that are hard to find and overpriced locally. If you've never tried to install a memory upgrade yourself, give it a shot. It's really not very difficult as long as you are careful and patient with the snapping in and out process.

For those of us packet-heads who run an ASA 5505 at home (mine is v.08), this is the RAM you need to upgrade it to 1GB. I can't speak for earlier hardware versions of the 5505 series, but mine loves it. Cheers.

I had a very slow pentium 4 266 and I thought nothing would make it perform better. I decided to take a chance and order this ram its made my computer so much faster and reliable. I just can't believe how good this ram works on that old PC. If you have a PC that uses this ram I say buy it and try it you won't regret it.

Great delivery, quick response, Item # matched some 512MB of the same style and works great, now have 3GB in Win7 32-bit. Much faster running Win 7 32-bit w/3GB vs. 1. Very happy w/the performance of the older PC that is a hand-me-down for Xmas for my sister's Jewelry store. She'll be very happy.

I upgraded and old Dell Dimension 3000 and thought I was receving 2X1GB of RAM assuming I would have 2GB when all was said and done. What I originally received was 2X512 and only got 1GB total in my computer. I called the customer service department and they were FANTASTIC. Walked me through the process to make sure I did have the wrong pieces and then sent out the new pieces while I was on the phone, verified address, explained what to do to send back the wrong RAM and didn't have to do anything but drop in in the mail and wait for the new pieces to arrive. Got it in 3 days. Pleasant people to work with and resolves it immediately. I plan on buying from them again, even after the mishap.

My computer was beginning to get a little long in the tooth, so to speak. I was getting high latency with my 'zero latency' audio. I figured I'd try to upgrade my PC as much as I could before going the replacement route. Glad I did! I upgraded from 1.5G to 4G memory and everything is smooth sailing now. As an added bonus, I getting less hard drive activity due to the fact that I don't need to run into virtual memory as much.

Yeah, I added to 1.5G from 1.0G for my XP machine. My first upgrade was from 0.5G to 1.0G. It was a huge improvement then, but not on this one. This DIMM had a lot of memory chips on both side. My previous 512M DIMM had memory chips only on one side. This might hurt the DRAM timing and cause the system being unstable. Fortunately, my machine had not been affected in this regard so far.

The RAM arrived without issue and worked fine. My only complaint is that it's very expensive, especially for DDR1 RAM and only being 1 gig worth.

Please help me with the following. I have a Dell 8300 with 2 (200mhz) 512 Mbyte memory installed (1 GB total). I see that these HERE are 400mhz and I read that the speed runs at the lowest figure. WHAT is better . . . to add the 2 1GB modules to the existing ones and have 3GB running at 200 mhz or remove them prior to installing the 2 1GB modules and have 2GB running at 400mhz? Thank you so much for your help!

This is your typical DIMM memory module for use in desktop systems.Nothing unusual here, which is a good thing.I installed the memory as usual without any problems. The system recognized the addition of memory on boot-up. All went well.

This is the 3rd of this RAM I have ordered and am using. The 1st one I bought to upgrade my computer's RAM (I only had 512Mb RAM) and I added it to the existing RAM (1.5G now). The 2nd one I bought for my daughters computer (which used the same RAM configuration on her motherboard as mine) and it is working great. The 3rd one I bought to again upgrade my computer and now I have 2.5G RAM. Note: Before upgrading your RAM, be sure to review the motherboard's manufacturer so you get the correct RAM for your motherboard. All RAM's are not compatible and going above 3Gb RAM is useless at this point. Now that I have my RAM as high as I like, I need to upgrade my video card (only running 256Mb RAM on the video card) because it will not run fast enough to keep up with the added RAM on my motherboard and most online videos I am viewing are jittery at best. All other applications I run are very fast now. If you are upgrading your RAM, then Kingston is the way to go with one of the best warranties around and great reliability.

This ram has managed to stop a lot of my games from crashing (mass effect, and fallout (3 and NV) primarily), and I have had no problem with it up to this point. I see no reason to dislike this product.

As a retired hardware designer, I have to take issue with the review which takes a gratuitous swipe at Crucial, lest some avoid buying from an excellent vendor. In general, Crucial (Micron) is well regarded as a quality provider of memory devices. Crucial is not who I think of when I look for a "least cost source". In fact, I was just pricing this same memory at Crucial for my home Apple G5 Xserve - and while I haven't yet made a close check of the specs, the Crucial price was almost double the price of the Kingston. In the case of the "lab" the reviewer worked for trying to cut costs, it seems more likely that the cost differential (i.e. the Crucial price being lower) was a result of an error in selecting the correct memory for the system in use, than that it was a result of Crucial being a price leader. The fact that ALL of the Crucial parts generated a "blue screen" outcome borders on demonstrative proof of an error in specifying the part. It is unfortunate that we do not have all of the facts in hand so that we could validate this reported issue, but until something persuades me otherwise I will continue to look at Crucial as a provider of choice. I believe that you will find many others with significant expertise in this area share this view. Unfortunately, many consumers mis-understand some of the specs, or make other errors that cause them problems, and then blame the vendor. Even many who consider themselves "technical" know less about the topic than they might imagine, and to be fair to them, it can be a fairly complex body of information. To the commenter who asked about Corsair, they are not a memory manufacturer like Crucial/Micron, they are a wholesaler/branding company. IIRC, they purchase primarily from Micron (i.e. Crucial) and Samsung. Since their target demographic seems to be the "performance" crowd, I would expect their products would be fine, and I believe I may even have some of their memory in a couple of my personal systems. I hope this information is helpful to you. As a final observation regarding Crucial, I have a number of servers running with 16 gb each of Crucial ram running 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and I have no complaints with the product. I have also used Kingston from time to time when that was what was readily available and have had no complaints with them, but I still have a preference for Crucial in mission critical applications. YMMV.

Don't order anything using the Super saver method if you really want your items ever sent to you! 5-9 Business days turns into 2 weeks or longer! I ordered on a Sunday giving them all day Monday to prepare my order and it's now Wednesday and it still hasn't shipped! I ordered on the 16th of May with an estimated delivery of the 21st. Now I'm being told that I'll not be seeing it until June 4th if that!!! This is not the first time I've had this type of issue with Amazon. I tried ordering a Channel Master antenna with a different type of shipping method, I paid for it instead of it being sent super saver. They strung me along for over a month continuously reassuring me that it will get here and it never did! The next time I tried inquiring about it or looking up my order they had canceled it all out like it never happened! I won't be ordering from them again.

This purchase was long overdue. My computer was running slow but it wasn't so bad that it bothered me much. Then I installed Office 2007... That was a big whack on memory usage, and it brought my computer to it's knees. Add to that the 3 IP security cameras, big honking digital images, iPod, and everything else we expect from our computers, and I was sitting staring at a cursor for minutes at a time.I bought 4 1-GB cards. They came in two days. I cracked open my computer, snapped out the measley 512MB (two cards) and snapped in these four bad-boys.No kidding, I closed the box, reconnected the power cord and booted it. The only thing that was different was the quick message that I had 4GB of memory, and the machine was up and running many times faster than before.Where my hard drive used to sound like a washing machine (and take about as long as a large load) now it's mostly silent and my computer screams by comparision to before. I should have done this years ago!Great Price - Easy Upgrade - Painless!

An obvious chose for me to increase the RAM on my 2004 self built PC with the same series Kingston Value DDR RAM. Extremely pleased with the RAM price & delivery. Only wish I could purchase the listed items I want to build my, overdue, PC upgrade. Sadly many of the electronic components are listed for sale ONLY in the US. Why is that so? Does it not raises a question of the intent & application of the USA/Australia Trade Agreements? Sour grapes from Down-Under? Maybe, but I am still a grateful member of Amazon.

I have had a Dell Dimension 8300 running MS Windows XP for several years now, and most recently it has been running almost every application extremely slow. I received numerous warnings of low virtual memory while the harddrive ran constantly. We use McAfee virus software, Yahoo Messenger, and also watch streaming video of television stations from around the world, all of which use a lot of RAM. I confirmed that the computer only had 500Meg of original RAM, but it required up to 1G peak filling the difference with harddrive virtual memory. I checked the Dell website for recommended memory upgrades and ordered 2 of these Kingston Tech 1GB 400MHz DDR Non-ECC memory modules which met the specifications. After I plugged in the memory modules in two of the possible four module locations, the computer acknowledged a memory change and booted with no issues or futher changes required. My memory problems were solved, and the computer runs great now. I expect I will be ordering two more to fill the remaining memory locations.

What can you say about a memory module. I received the package via USPS well within expected delivery time. It fit smoothly into the DIMM slot of my 10 year old desktop running XP-sp2. After power up the extra memory was detected automatically and my RAM expanded from 512MB to 1.5GB. It's been functioning perfectly since installation, about 1 month now.

Purchased this memory for my grand-mothers Dell computer. It was a little older (not her), but booted up with no problems detecting it. My grand-mother has now been raving about how fast her computer is -- if she only knew her bus speed was only 400MHz. As always, you can never go wrong with Kingston memory.

Purchased it for a 4 year old computer which clearly needed more memory to run newer software. The install was simple, the price beat any I have seen, shipment was on time. With a purchase like this the only difference between products is mainly price, Amazon was a good choice.

Excellent purchase. Product was delivered on time, well packed, and exactly as advertised. Unfortunately, my PC died (for other reasons) before I could exercise my new RAM, so I didn't really get to appreciate the purchase. Such is life.

Did some research to upgrade memory on my 1.5GHz Pentium 4 that had only 256M of memory. It was slow as a pig and locked up constantly. This 2GB upgrade brought it back to life. It's now a screamer running XP and other Apps. No need for a new computer.
