Comfortable to wear for many hours, good battery life and the quality of the sound is very good - according to those on the other end of the calls! Very happy with the purchase.
My first time with this was with a former employer, it was so good that I bought it again for myself, and my other half now has one too..
Some have moaned about the magnetic aspects of the mic boom, but I haven't noticed any problems with it; the boom has a 'notchy' mechanism that holds it in place and can be bent to suit, and I have often found that it has come together itself when I have had the boom at the top..
The mic is useless, constantly being asked to repeat myself, people just complain they can't hear me.
Have tried this on a windows and MAC computers.
I suppose it could be just a faulty set as the headset looked like it had been returned before. packaging missing, manuals had been read (i find this happening a lot with Amazon).
returned for a refund although i may try another set in case this is a faulty set.
One issue I find is they start getting uncomfortable after about 30 mins , making hour long calls a challenge. I find the pressure they put on your ears is a bit much.
The other issue is that the mic arm can only move up or down, and not away. I find it almost sits in my mouth, and you can't bend it away.
Would I recommend.... probably worth seeing what else is out there!
The microphone mute that is activated by pressing the volume down button for 2 seconds doesn't work when using Skype or Teams calls etc. This has to be done via the application.
The headset is described as "Noise Cancelling". This is as basic as the headset simply blocking the surrounding sounds because it’s covering your ears. The ear pieces don't fit tightly on the ears so the "Passive" noise cancelling is none existent. You get the same level of noise cancellation by putting your fingers over your ears lightly. This is no way good enough for a mildly noisy office, let alone a very noisy one.
The headset was constantly slipping off when bending forward to look at a keyboard etc so was very annoying.
Sound quality was good.
The headset is very expensive and simply not worth it.
I have emailed support as the warranty is for 2 years and I only purchased 8 months ago. If support is good I will revise accordingly but for the moment, I am pretty disappointed.
Edit Nov 17: I sent it back to Jabra and they replaced it with no issue. It took around 3 weeks but the new one is working fine. Changing from 2 to 4 stars.
In defense of the brand: the Jabra Revo is the best pair of headphones I have ever owned. The brand makes some good thing, this is not one of them. At least not the model I got.
If you got this far and still want to buy it.
Battery life is ok, I was happy with it. Sound quality for conference calls is superb but poor for listening to music.
This thing is not intended for music & should not by judged by it.
Noise cancellation is kinda ok. Drowns a bit, leaving you to still be able to hear quite a bit of the office environment. This is a plus and a minus, depending on your needs. For me, I feel that this could have been better.
Warranty covers stuff like this for only 1 year.
They feel cheap and plasticky, like a £30 -£50 product, not over a £100.
I haven't tried the audio quality. I'll try them for a few days but suspect I will return them. It's quite disappointing as a I spent a long time researching them and went for the more expensive Jabra ones rather than a cheap brand. Guess I'll just save my money and go cheap, these are not worth it.
The sound quality is poor at best, particularly from your handset. Compared to the plantronics voyager legend, the sound is terrible, all the more so because it is stereo. But the mic is better than the plantronics, which was the reason for buying in the first place. The noise cancelling is non-existant. Set up for PC and handset is troublesome and if you already have bluetooth you will need to use BOTH the jabra dongle and whatever else provides your bluetooth connection, otherwise you will only be able to pair with your PC or your handset, not both.
Because the ear-pieces are so small, you get a lot of interference from the noises in your environment.
I will not be returning it simply because the mic is better than other units I have bought and callers say they can hear me more clearly than before.
The issue is that when connected via standard bluetooth to my iPhone 7 (or any other bluetooth phone in fact) the audio crackles when on a call. It appears to be a software glitch, but Jabra do not believe there is an issue, and will therefore not investigate the problem
Another annoying 'feature' is the auto handover when a second call comes in on your second device, ie, if on a skype call on your mac, and your phone starts ringing, the headset automatically switches over to your phone and you miss whats happening in the skype call. As I use the headset for my job, this isnt ideal, as I can be leading a conference call and get cut off. The only solution is to turn off the bluetooth on your phone/disconnect the headset from your phone which isnt ideal.
The charge port on the latest set is also starting to go wobbly. It's never been perfect since they were new, being very fiddly to insert and remove
Jabra have made a real good attempt at a nice UC headset here, but the glitches in the software (the mac support is questionable - windows gets much more functionality), and the very 'plasticky' build quality lets it down.
Sound: Sound is very clear and crisp (tested this with work colleague) it's perfect for those mundane back to back long meetings when you want to go make a cuppa or grab a bite working at home. I was using a Jabra wired headset before which worked just aswell but made me feel like a prisoner. This is a great trusted brand if you want to use for this work.
Comfort: very light, soft foam for ears. Very comfy and adjustable head band.
Overall, I really recommend this headset if you want to use this for work. It has made my endless meetings more bearable!
1) Random disconnects mid call. Didn't happen often, maybe once a week, but as with most things like this, always happen when something critical was being said.
2) Gave up with bluetooth. Terrible sound for some reason.
3) Between calls, sometimes the mic would stop being picked up by the computer, even though the device was selected. I'd do the call with my camera mic instead, then on the next call the headset mic would work. Unfortunately this now happens daily and is the one that's made me finally give up on it. Back to Plantronics this time.
The good:
1) Comfortable for all day use
2) Quite good sound with the dongle
3) Good battery life. Even more than a year on.
All in all a real shame. I wanted to like the headset, but the constant issues, despite regularly updating the firmware, make it too unreliable for work use.
I have these connected to computer and mobile at same time. Manage to easily get through a day full charge of headphones.
No noise reduction on these, but for the price and the functionality they did what I needed.
At time of writing, I don't know how I managed previously without them.
One issue, thus reducing to 4 stars, is the awards process to switch between more than 2 devices. Essentially, the only way is to forget the headset in Bluetooth settings and get the headset to a pairing mode again.
- Works with Skype for Business well
- Connects to 2 devices at the same time
- Red light on the headset to show I'm busy
- Jabra Connect software is unobtrusive
What I less like:
- As others have said the headset clamps to your head quite tightly. It's not uncomfortable but compared to my previous Logitech headset it isn't as comfortable
- Have to install the Jabra software to get it to work with Skype for Business. I would have assumed it would have worked out of the box with Windows 10.
- Jabra software requires Administrator rights
Headset build quality good, the USB wireless plug feels like it is going to catch on something and break eventually (though the design is different from previous Jabras which always died that way in the end for me). Note I could associate the headset directly via Bluetooth with my PC, but got unreliable results and some features were not integrated with Skype well (eg mute indication) mic/headphone source selection.
It defeats the point of the bluetooth functionality and there are no settings to change the sensitivity of the mic noise cancelling.
Construction is feels cheap origins plastic. I would not recommend.
It’s ridiculous how easy the headphones are to set up - just plug in the USB dongle & away you go.
They are very comfortable to wear & the quality of the audio is great. I like how the microphone clicks into the headset when you’re not using it & contrary to other reviews I’ve found the magnetic strip works well.
The headphones come with a nice, soft case to keep them safe when you’re not working.
An absolute must if you’re working from home.
Don't need full noise cancelling as I prefer to hear things like the doorbell, the dog and a bit of slight background noise so they are just perfect for that. I can now comfortably listen to Spotify in between meetings
What a disappointment.
I thought that by spending a decent amount of money on a headset, and it being Jabra, it would give decent audio quality. It really does not. I work from home, so there is very little background noise to 'cancel'. Yet, it consistently cuts off the start and ends of my words, and if there was music playing in the background, it would do all sorts of weird stuff to try and cancel it out - annoying when you are actually wanting to play music to someone down the phone. I conducted several tests with various people and consistently they asked "Where are you? It sounds like you're miles away".
Build quality, battery life, connectivity are all great. But if you can't hear or be heard, what's the point?
I've since returned these, and bought a Sennheiser PC 3 Chat. It's cabled, but the audio is clear as a bell, everyone can hear me perfectly, and it was £13. No competition, really.
Can just about eek out three consecutive 12hr shifts before needing a recharge. One negative is that if you’re away from the desk with these around your neck it’s easy to miss a call as the ringing in the earpiece isn’t so loud. Maybe a vibration option perhaps?
I use this headset almost daily for calls, and it works really well and picks up little noise from baby crying (in next room). I have experienced a few issues where the headset occasionally loses connection with my phone and I have to remove and re-add which is why I am giving 4 stars.
As headphones they are comfortable and from a listeners perspective the call quality is fine. Quality is inadequate for listening to music, but then they are not designed for that. I do find them good for long conference calls where I can listen in and have my hands free for typing or note taking.
With an iPhone you need to go back to the iPhone to end the call; which is irritating. On an android phone pressing the headphone button ends the call, which is much better. I also like the way you can sync with two phones at once.
In about 20% of the calls I make or receive, the person I am talking to tells me that I am fading in and out and they cannot hear me, whilst I can hear them fine. It could be the boom position. It could be ineffective noise cancelling. If I did not have this problem, I would give these headphones a 5 star review. I do have this problem and the headphones could soon end up in the bin.
The only disappointment is there is no button to quickly pause your music if you need to break off to have a conversation with a colleague. Have to unlock your phone to pause.
Listen to her music and says the music quality is very good
The sound quality over the headset is not great though - very faint, with no noise canceling ability, so while others can hear me well, I struggle to hear them over the noise around me...
Unfortunately, as others have said, it looks like the phone gets priority. It can easily cut you off a call on Skype/Softphone as the phone audio seems to take priority. Often, desktop calls also get routed to my mobile and if i pick these up on desktop while the headset is in "mobile mode" then the audio just doesn't come through. All a bit of a shame, because i think the dual connectivity is one of the strongest features of this headset.
That being said, if the above doesn't apply to you it seems like a nice headset (I've had to send mine back). The set up was nice and easy.
