This review previously was submitted on HTC official site, but they blocked it to be published. I am very disappointed about it.Performance is a good, camera is a plus, but power also battery are definitely huge problems, and Dropbox free 25GB space in US is a joke! lolI have tried htc only for a few days but get some opinions, I have used iphone for years, so mostly I compare iphone4s or iphone5 to this htc one x+:1) + Smooth screen experience, 3D effect, while on iphone4s you need to install apps to realize this;2) - No retina display as iphone 4s, 5. This effect is very obvious. I feel very uncomfortable when I switch from iphone first, however, I get used to it now and it is not that bad.2) + a lot of apps in play store, not worse than apple store, easy to download free apps, while you need to enter psswd each time even when you download free apps in apple store ;3) - no sina weibo integration, while apple does, and yes, there are a lot of Chinese apple users.4) + Very good camera and it is easy to use! a lot of geek options! Iphone has good cameras too, but sadly it is like a toy camera for lazy guys, not many options to choose or explore. In terms of effects, no much visible difference, HTC ONE X+ is even better on the color, but sometimes too vivid, not realistic. Lumia 920 has very good optical lens, which is an advantage on the hardware side, but in terms of real effects, I have to say, the prevention of shaking is really bad so that my friend has to take several shots each time to ensure there should be a good one...5) - Power and battery are huge problems. Feel it worse than iphone4s, Galaxy s3 and Lumia 920, even when I turned on power saver option. It burns hand when I play games for a while, such as the simple popular ones "subway surf" and "plague". And the battery definitely needs to be recharged once a day for a moderate use (only occasionally check emails, 0-2 short phone calls). If I play games for a while, maybe half a day. But this situation is not observed on my previous iphone 4s, at least better, not once a day to charge. I guess it is because HTC one x+ has four cores instead of two in iphone and Lumia 920, however, I haven't feel much obvious performance boost from this four core settings. For example, in "subway surf", "Bubble Mania", it is not as smooth as my previous iphone. Not sure there are that much parallelism to exploit or whether the parallelism is handled well for four cores in most common apps. Anyway, better hardware does not necessarily leads to better user performance experience.6) - Snyc manager on Mac may have some problems. Though iTunes sucks in some ways, this Snyc manager on Mac is not very neatly designed. Always lost connection when in use, or cannot detect device at the first plug-in. When I tried to sync photos, after at least the first 3 times, it succeeded. Before that all I got was 1% directly to 100% and seemed completion but nothing. I searched internet that some other users have similar problems, and I am pretty sure that nothing wrong with my USB. Anyway, Android file transfer is a good option instead.7) + - Very geeky user interface, which can be a good thing for hackers, but a burden for ordinary users. When I switch from iphone to Andriod, OMG, it seems I go back to the old PC times! So many options to choose from, for everything, every app! Yes, this is good for me, I like to play with them and customize a lot, however, for my mother, it is so difficult to use compared to iphone! On this point, apple has an advantage, but lumia 920 with windows 8 is even worse than android. Hope that users can choose to hide some details until they want to open them.8) - The free dropbox 25GB for two years, as listed at the bottom on HTC ONE X+ official webpage, lol, is a joke for U.S. users! In U.S, only AT&T has HTC ONE X+, however, Dropbox declares that in U.S., AT&T and Verizion users are excluded in this activity. OK, I can only say that maybe this is listed there only for ... or for fun in U.S.9)+ - I like the big screen, much more convenient than iphone, but I feel the appearance of the phone mediocre and cheap, not better than iphones and samsung galaxy s3.10) - I don't like the repeated built-in apps, like as I said, this is not neat. For example, it has at least three built-in msg apps: Messages, Messages(for gtalk), Messager(for google+). It is better to have only one that can integrate all accounts. I downloaded an IM+, which is good with this ability, well, now I have 4 msg apps, and the other redundant built-in apps cannot be deleted.11) + - Until now, the above are what I "feel" in a few days when I started to use HTC. Will find more when I use it for a longer time.Overall, I still recommend this phone, definitely better hardware settings (everyone talks about that, large built-in 64GB storage, good cameras, more faster cores, etc, so I don't repeat) and better quality/price ratio, at least compared to iphone5 and galaxy s3 (not lumia 920, lol). >>BUYERS BE WARE, there are many versions of this phone, the US at&t version is a 16 GB version, people unlock it via an unlock code and sell it as an unlocked international version, the international one has 32 GB & comes without the at&t logo on the front. You have to ask the seller BEFORE you buy if the phone has the at&t logo or not, this is the only way to know from the outside if it is the 16 GB or the 32 GB, you won't probably have this problem if you buy directly through Amazon, but some other re-sellers don't know the difference, or hope that YOU don't!<<----Original review----I used so many brands and models of phones and smartphones than I can remember, and this one here, except for the memory card thing, covers every hole that was in every other phone I used. It also covers any thing u may have thought of having in a phone, and it is doing that in style! I tried the Samsung Galaxy S3 at at&t before choosing the One x, and it really isn't better. I mean it is just about personal preferences, I always feel Samsung phones ( not all Samsung products, I love their TVs for example)have a cheap felling. Besides I liked how the One X looked more than the S3.Pros:-Amazing screen, and I am coming from a Motorola Droid Razr which has a very good screen itself. The screen here is sharper, colors are better, no shadows(Razr had a green shadow on all colors. Watching Youtube or any vids on this phone is a thing I long for throughout the day!-Battery life is good enough for a full day with moderate use. Of course a lot of movie watching, game playing or hours long web surfing require a twice charging. Battery isn't impressive, but not bad.-The 8 MP Camera deserves all the fuzz it received when first introduced, its pictures are steady, colors are vivid and quality is really high!-Speed: The phone handles multitasking very well, games and videos are a breathe nothing you should worry about here.Cons:The only thing I didn't like about this phone, which is why I would say it is more like 4.5 stars not 5, is the lack of a memory card slot. I mean, seriously? it has a 2 year free subscription for extra storage online and everything, but whyyy?? How hard was it to add an extra slot for a memory card? An engineer's mistake without any doubt.Bottom line, if you want an Android phone go for the One X or the S3, can't make up your mind, try them both and just pick any of them you will end up with a winner either way!-----UPDATE------So I was tempted to get the S3 since I have a month to exchange the phone with at&t and I wanted to know how better was the S3. I got the blue S3 and I certainly loved it, it doesn't feel cheap in hand as I expected, but it feels rather classy and here are my thoughts in comparison, I hope this experience may help other people decide:- The S3 overall look is really slick, it is ofcourse all about personal preferences as I said before, but sometime I wished that the One X looked more like the blue S3! the metal edges gave it some superiority no doubt about that, the blue finish was really good, but the white looks really cheap, don't think about it!- The Samsung motions( swipe to take a screen shot, raise the phone up to your ears with an open message to automatically dial the sender without pressing any keys & others) are really cool and are certainly a point above the OneX.- Sd card slot, as basic as it is , it is better than not having one!But that is it, these are the only things where the S3 bests the OneX- The Svoice(Smamsung reply to iPhone's Siri) Is totally useless, and certainly needs more development, a good idea that may get better in newer models, but not a plus for the S3, not to mention it consumes more battery when turned on.- The screen is different than the one X, I can't totally explain it, not the pixels density but mainly the colors. As I read online, it looks like Samsung forgot to calibrate its screens, so as good as they are, colors don't look natural. And you can't really feel it unless u spent some time with the OneX's gorgeous screen, colors aren't vibrant, a picture of a clear sea looks darker and less colorful on the S3 than the One X and though really good, the One X is considerably better.- The camera is good, but again the One X's camera is definitely better both outdoor & indoor, may be not by much but the difference is there.- Eye tracking: It was supposed to prevent the screen from sleeping when you are reading or surfing, well it doesn't do the job very well. In low light situations it is pretty much useless, since it depends on the front camera for eye tracking. In regular light it was ok, but again u had to hold to hold the phone in a certain way to make sure it "sees" your eye! I didn't find it that impressive..or useful!- Speed:same for both- Samsung's touchWiz vs htc Sense is an even battle I liked them both.- Battery: both are almost the same battery wise, though moderate to heavy use will definitely require a twice per day charging with both of them,

I owned my HOX for about three months. Prior to that I used an iPhone 3gs for two years, and a Droid Bionic for about 6 months. (It was a company phone.)First off, the positives. How could I start anywhere but the display. Even after owning one for three months, on a recent visit to the phone store, I picked up an HOX and tried to play with it, getting myself frustrated that I couldn't get the screen to respond to my touches. It took me several seconds to realize I was looking at a dummy phone with a printed screen image. That's how good the HTC One X display is: it's difficult to distinguish it from quality printed material. Other phones, you look at them and you may not consciously register them, but you can see the pixel effect. What I liked most about the screen was that it is one of the largest screens that was available when I bought it, but the device itself was not the largest: the bezel is so narrow that almost all the front side is display. And the photos I could take with this baby! Significantly better than my Bionic, even though the Bionic had good numbers for the camera. Just, apparently, not great optics to match the big megapixels. The touch screen interface was smooth and responsive. So sensitive that occasionally, it would trigger just from my finger being close to the screen, not actually touching. No biggy, though, because being so responsive, you could recover from a misfire by a really quick stab at the back button.I worked in a power plant for a few summers, and play in a rock band on occasion, so my ears aren't the best. I'm told the Beats Audio is great; I can only say that it pumped out enough sound through the 3.5" jack to be able to drive my car's Aux input with no trouble. Couple that great playback with Play Music or Pandora, and you're good to go. Battery life is about what you'd expect from a smartphone with a huge, detailed display. Since I have a desk job, it's no problem to plug in whenever I need to. I think I've only run out of juice in that device once in the three months. And that brings me to the cons. Only a few, but they're serious. First, this device has a plethora of holes in the case. It has to, to let the sound out, to let your voice in, to allow the insertion of a microSIM, a microUSB, and headphones. I had the phone in the pockets of my shorts when I went out for a walk a couple months ago. While still a couple miles from home, it started to rain lightly. I should have sought shelter immediately, but as soon as I decided where I could go, it stopped raining. So I continued walking instead. And walked into an incredibly strong rainstorm. I kept the phone in my pocket to keep as much water away from it as possible, but to no avail--moisture got inside the phone anyway. But I wasn't aware it had, since the phone never stopped working, and there was no fog inside the display or anything. My only indication was three days ago, when I picked up my phone and noticed a decidedly bluish tint covering the display. The problem grew progressively worse as the week progressed, to the point that tomorrow I'm going to burn an upgrade and get a new phone. Now, yes, moisture and electronics are not a good mix, and it's not the device's fault that I had it with me in the rain. But I've owned a smartphone for nearly three years, and regular cellphones for another 7, and I have never had a device fail on me like that. I think most phones don't have nearly as many openings in the case for water to get in. And I know that the Atrix HD comes with some sort of water resistant coating on the electronics, which makes me unhappy that HTC didn't do that with the One X.As responsive as the touch display is, I frequently had to fight with it to get the notification panel to pull down. Maybe it's just because I have big fingers, but it was a repeating source of irritation. Another frequent annoyance was the phone's penchant for rebooting itself in my pocket. And finally, I mentioned the phone's audio. I would be remiss if I didn't add that, when plugged into my car's Aux, if the music track got really quiet, the HOX was anything but! It would squeal and sputter, and otherwise annoy the heck outta my son, who has pretty sensitive hearing. Now, all these cons might be directly attributable to the moisture damage I inflicted on the phone, so take them with a grain of salt but when I finally decided that trying to get my HOX repaired was a losing strategy, I went to my local phone store to replace it, and just couldn't bring myself to plunk down another $150 for a device that only lasted me 3 months on my first try. I asked the clerk if he could advise me, and he sympathized with me, but ultimately sold me on a different phone for half the price. I'm going to miss that One X--it was truly a Klassy Phone. But when push came to shove, I had to push back.

See update below.I had been trying to decide which to buy, coming out of a Blackberry either one is going to require a learning curve for me. The One X looks totally new and fresh, the S3 looks like the S2 with softer contours. The specs are pretty much even and while an SD card is convenient, I am used to using 8 GB, so since both have 16 GB, that is more than enough for my needs. Plus, the One X has 23 GB Dropbox storage free for two years, the S3 on ATT and Verizon won't. The One X has a sealed battery...so what? So does every iPhone and that hasn't stopped Apple from selling a gazillion of them. That brings it down to UI, and from everything I have read (a LOT) it seems Sense 4 is much better than Touch Wiz, in fact, from my perspective, the only people who seem to prefer Touch Wiz over Sense are Samsung owners / fans. Also, I find it funny that professional reviewers who are supposed to be providing a fair comparison, and certainly private individuals, are actually pretty biased for one phone over the other. When discussing the specs, where it is close but the numbers favor the preferred phone, it gets the win, but when the other phone is a bit better, it is a tie. Also, there are some specs that are not measured in the same fashion, yet the the preferred phone wins again. Bragging rights being what they are, the better numbers mean size does matter to those who have nothing else going for them. Get out of your GT500 and hop into my 911, or my friend's Lotus, then tell me how your machine is superior because of the numbers. From the view point of someone with smartphone experience, but not with Android, I really don't care about little differences in the specs. No one I know is going to care about numbers, we care about performance and results: ICS; dual core 1.5GHz with LTE / HSPA+ for fast browsing; battery power to get through 8+ hour work day; music and video access for down-time; computer sync; multiple live email accounts; reliability and durability; ease of use; a decent camera with useable cutting edge goodies. What we don't want is a lot of clutter; gimmicks (I work daily with seven people with iPhone 4S and not one of them have used Siri after the first two weeks of owning the phones) or having to put up with unnecessary crap to make the phone function as we want it to. ICS works the way it is, you really don't need to mess with it.I have decided on the One X. I tried Sense 4 in the store and compared it to Touch Wiz on the S2 models... I know the new version is "lighter" but not by that much based on what I have read and understand from talking to users/experts. Also, as I am learning the use of the phone from square one, and never having used an Android before, the HTC seemed much more natural, intuitive (simpler?) than the Samsung. Not having any preconceived notions about which was better, to me HTC was the clear winner. I also think the look of the One X is very different from other phones out there, whereas any Samsung looks pretty much like every other Samsung built in the last two years - squared vs round corners not withstanding. And just so there is no doubt about my motives, initially, it was my intention to replace my BB with the Galaxy Note; then I read about the One X being developed, followed by the S3. I decided to wait for both devices and compare each to the other and to my needs, and to the Note. The Note fell away from the other two, the One X took a narrow lead but my options were still wide open. Then I saw the S3 and the One X was like Secretariat at Belmont, pulling away fast and I didn't plan on looking back. Now, about build quality / durability; take a look at some of the drop tests on You Tube for both of these phones (and any other you may be considering) from waist height, shoulder height, from the roof of an accelerating car, even thrown into the air down a street! The Gorilla glass does eventually shatter, but the One X keeps on working as designed: the touch screen works, so does the browser and the phone function. The S3 was completely dead! The reason is that Samsung fused the screen to the glass, so when the glass breaks, so does the screen, not to mention having to pick up all of the pieces of the S3 to put it back together again. The One X, you know, has a solid polycarbonate shell that is very strong in its own right. This was the final deciding factor for me. Yes, I know there are protective cases that will solve this problem, but then I would be carrying around a thick, flat slab instead of a thin, sleek sculptured work of art (or in the case of the S3, a thin, flat slab of an electronic device). The bottom line is a smartphone is a tool to be used in the real world, and it needs to be tough enough to survive, even if it is only used in a business or social environment. How many times have you seen someone's phone get knocked off a desk / counter top / bar / dining table and crash to the floor? The S3 is a great phone, absolutely, and on paper it may be th

First off, let me come clean, I currently work for an authorized AT&T retailer--I receive dealer phones to use for free, so I will not comment on the pricing as this does not pertain to me...okay, in the interest of full disclosure, now that I have that out of the way, I'll continue forward...First things first, what REALLY attracts you to this device pure and simple is the absolutely GORGEOUS screen. Since I work around, with and selling mobile devices, I have seen more than my share of what the industry has to offer. Folks still go on and on about the iPhone's Retina Display, and yes, it IS a great screen with wonderful clarity--however, I personally prefer the Super Amoled Plus screens that Samsung produces much more simply due to the incredible color saturation. Everyone of course has their own opinion in regards to this, and personally, I understand that opinions vary, so I'm not here saying one is verifiably better than another, just what I personally prefer. With that said, the One X's screen is hands down the best, most clear and vivid I have ever seen on ANY wireless device. Its not even close to be honest. That alone is the best selling point for this phone, but there is plenty to love aside from all that...but easily, this is one of those phones you simply MUST see in order to fully appreciate.***Minor Update***Working for AT&T, I had the opportunity to help with an issue from some Romanian vacationers, one of which had the Euro version of the Samsung Galaxy SIII and I simply MUST say, what an incredible device it was. I realize the American version will not feature the Quad-Core processor due to its current incompatibility with 4G LTE technology (I'm sure that will change within 6-8 months). The phone is simply awesome and a worthy successor to the SII which remains the most popular smartphone in the world. While the Super Amoled Plus screen is simply GORGEOUS on the SIII, I'm still going out on a limb and say that overall I prefer the One X more for the sheer Realism of the screens ability to render virtually anything. Both phones feature the exact same pixel density, but the colors on the SIII--as one would expect--literally JUMP off the screen. Honestly, its a VERY tough division to find anything better on one over the other. I'd venture to say that this is going to be subjective to each person individually. While I may prefer one, you may prefer the other. All I can say is for THIS particular person, I think that HTC wins on this one--but only by the slimmest of margins. Overall however, based on stats alone I'd take the SIII over the One X. Also, the T-Mobile version of the One also has a Super Amoled screen and not the Super HD LCD display like the AT&T model, and it is clearly not as good, this isn't subjective, it just IS. Check one out if you doubt me.Let me also add one additional downside to ANY phone now featuring Android 4.0...no Adobe Flash support. I had it on my Droid Razr before the update, but afterwards, gone. I tried to download it from Google Play only to read that they won't be supporting Ice Cream Sandwich enabled devices. My question is this: WHY??? Until such time as the bulk of the internet stops using Flash, and HTML5 takes over, I find it hypocritical and almost a cheat to deny those of us who have championed Android over iPhones using this as one of our reasons for choosing one over the other. They ought to at least give us the option. But either way, this is one VERY serious item to consider before making the purchase, FYI.Android 4.0 is quite a leap ahead from Gingerbread. One thing I find difficult to get used to is the total lack of the 4th search button at the bottom of the device. I've been an Android user for a long time and I use that button a LOT. I don't find the absence of it an actual plus in the so-called upgrade from 2.3.6 to 4.0. Not a fan of dropping that button. Other than that, I find it interesting how some people love HTC's Sense user interface and others have a deep seated hatred for it. There seems to be few folks who are in between on the issue. Honestly, I tend to really like HTC's stamp on Android and always have. It's very fluid and visually its very well put together--but I realize not everyone is in my corner. All I can say is this new version of Sense--at least in MY opinion works pretty great, and looks just as good.My favorite part of ICS is the Voice to Text feature and how it has been improved upon. I love how many iPhone users talk about Siri and its capabilities as though apple originated the ability to turn speech into text on phones. I got news: Android has had this ability for YEARS. With that being said, Siri IS pretty freakin' cool, and works--for the most part--pretty good...however for Android users, I enjoy Speaktoit Assistant, which does virtually everything that any iPhone can do, too. Getting back to the 4.0 Voice upgrade...once you start recording your voice you'll immediately notice a difference. It begins writing what

Professional reviewers will tell you that the HTC One X is simply the best Droid phone on the planet and that the upcoming Galaxy III will have to work hard to dethrone it. While it is an excellent phone, some glaring flaws in the One X made me question the hype. The ray of sunshine came through for me when I learned to stop worrying and love the Internet. Read on...When it comes to the Pros, the One X has a whole lot going for it. The International version has a quad-core processor and 32GB of storage onboard. I was surprised and disappointed to hear that both the One X and the Galaxy III will be losing that quad-core in the American versions, but I've learned a bit since then. Number of cores is important to a processor, there's no doubt: but the internal architecture of the processor is important, too. The manufacturing of the One X's newer dual-core is more efficient than the older quad-core processor, and sites benchmarking the two have come up with almost identical performance scores. Using the phone, there's no doubt that everything is speedy and responsive--the browser is fast, apps like Facebook knock load-times out of the park, and games like Angry Birds don't stutter trying to render house-smashing physics. The One X seems to be slightly less happy making the transition from one app to the other, but it's not a problem, it's more like, "getting here felt like 110% speed, closing out and opening the next program took a moment and then we were back at 110% again." Call quality is quite good, and it seems like these days just about every smartphone makes good, clear calls given good coverage--but speakerphone modes will always be tiny and tinny.Where we have the downsides of AT&T start with the fact that the AT&T version for the US contains only 16GB of storage. You don't get all of that 16GB by any stretch: after separate partitions for the system and software, you get just shy of 10GB left for your use. When you think about the fact that an hour of 1080p HD video clocks in at around 11GB, that's not good--even if you put no music or photos on the phone, you're already limited from the get-go thanks to the storage downgrade. "No problem," says I, "I have my 32GB microSD! I'll just pop it into the...what? No slot?" That's right: no SD slot is a glaring error, and I criticize the pros who say, "10 GB is plenty!" or "they couldn't put a slot in the unibody design" (oh, really? Then how did they do just that to hold the SIM card?). This is the hard part about the One X: the battery and memory are what they are, and cannot be upgraded or replaced. That said, the "Sunshine in the Cloud" comes in learning to wean yourself from copies of everything. When I take pictures or video on my phone, the first thing I want to do is get them right off the phone and onto a PC, so I can do whatever I want to with them. HTC have gone out of their way to make that possible for you. It's amazing: nearly everything in the interface will allow you to tether yourself to "a place for your stuff". HTC One X users are gifted with 23GB of extra storage on DropBox, for a total of 25, so that takes care of my file storage needs. Google Play allows you to upload 20,000 songs and stream them anytime, so there goes my obsession with copying MP3s onto an SD Card. I can automatically upload camera pictures to any one of a number of places: Flickr, Google+, Dropbox, Facebook, you name it--they can automatically go straight into the cloud and I can pull them down any time. You might think that would run up your data bill, but everywhere I've looked I can set up how to transfer my files: on 4G LTE, on Wi-Fi only, on either, or only when I manually push them.Playing music is important to me, so I put the One X through its paces before I settled in: Google Play has streamed over Wi-Fi without a hiccup, and I even started a stream in 4G, attached to Wi-Fi, and turned 4G off without so much as a dropped note. I was shocked. I got in the car, tethered to my car audio, drove around with 4G running the show and all went well. I also played with Internet Radio (worked great) and an FM app (FM radio is terrible in my area for any device). The only drawback is that there is a music player native to the phone that expects files to be there, so I'm working through Google Play instead. One of the professional sites recommended MOG, but they don't tell you that it's $10 a month for the service...no thanks, the One X is quite good with any of the other options! So then we come to the camera. Yes, you would still be stuck with only being able to record an hour or less of 1080p before needing to offload it to the web (and you can automate that, too)...but I also thought about how I use the video feature on a phone: in bits and pieces. The one time I came close to an hour--for my daughter's piano recital--I still ended up recording it in segments, for the simple reason that I can't hold perfectly still for an hour on

WARNING:I've been using the phone for a while now and had been happy with AT&T pay as you go plan, but recently started using a lot of minutes and the plan isn't as attractive anymore. I tried switching back to Simple Mobile, but reception isn't the same. I think they may have upgraded a tower near my house and it now works on 3G 1700MHz frequency which this phone does not support.Just to be sure, I ordered a t-mobile sim card and tried it, but the phone would not recognize the sim card (says, "no sim card found"). Researched this to find that there is an issue with T-Mobile's new sim cards and the HTC One X. In my opinion, it sounds like HTC One X has a bug.So, now I've got three options:AT&TSimple Mobile (runs on T-Mobile, but the sim card works with the phone)Walmart Family MobileWalmart Family Mobile is not a pay as you go plan. They will bill you for overages, so that is out.Simple Mobile worked well at first, but coverage is getting spotty. I blame HTC not Simple Mobile.AT&T a bit expensive with heavy usage of minutes.Looking at the Samsung Galaxy III, they do cover 1700MHz frequency, so they would work with T-Mobile and probably the sim card is recognized just fine. If I had to do it again, I would go that route.Changing my review from 5 stars to 2 as I think it's pretty bad HTC One X doesn't support 1700 MHz and in addition to this the issue of not registering the new T-Mobile "gba" cards.--------------------Final Update: Well, my wife was willing to take the HTC One X so I could buy a Samsung Galaxy S3. What a bad idea... Here is a link that describes the experience in detail:[...]---------------------Update: Putting this update first because I'm thinking this could really have an impact for some people. I recently bought a T-Mobile activation kit here on Amazon and while I could activate the sim (shows activated on the T-Mobile site and T-Mobile customer rep verified), but internet does not work on the phone. Calls and texting are fine, but no Edge/3G/etc... I'm of the belief that right now, T-Mobile sim cards and this phone are not compatible. Simple Mobile, AT&T and Wal-Mart Family Mobile work just fine though. I only care myself because T-Mobile has a $30 month promotional plan with unlimited data at 3g speeds. To get this anywhere else, I'm probably looking at $50 or more.----------------------Okay, ordered this yesterday with 1 day shipping and it hasn't shipped yet (7:12 PM EST). Seller is Amazon, so I'll be real disappointed if it doesn't change status to shipped soon. Will come back and update once I get it. Previous phone was an iPhone 3GS and can't wait to make the switch from the evil Apple empire to good old Google Android.Fingers crossed.Update: Yay Amazon, got an email about 10PM saying it has been shipped. Hope yet of receiving it tomorrow. More to come.Update: Arrived early and have been playing with all day. It is truly awesome! No complaints at all. Couple of bonehead mistakes on my part such as cutting my sim card the wrong way to make a micro sim card and signing up for the wrong data plan with Simple Mobile, but everything is great. Excellent phone and haven't found a single fault yet.Last Update: Unless something goes wrong, this is the last one. It's been about four days now and no issues at all. Battery seems solid and all apps that I've tried are working great. Some of them are: Order & Chaos, Temple Run, Monster Park and Restaurant Story. Also email, internet, phone is great. Works great with Simple Mobile and Walmart Family sim cards. It boots up very fast and shuts down quick. Haven't used the camera much at all, so can't speak on that. Some things that might be interesting:- Bought the Otterbox with it and immediately used it. Dropped the phone from waist height three times already (a record for me in such a short time) and no problems. Two times it hit hardwood and once carpet.- Audio isn't anything special. Not really noticing anything different with 'Beats', but that is probably because I'm getting older and just can't tell. Speaker is decent in terms of volume. Better than average I would say, but not outstanding.- Order & Chaos is an intense 3D graphics game and it runs perfectly- Google voice is giving me an issue with showing caller ID correctly. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the phone, carrier, or GV. Text and calling work fine, just caller ID doesn't seem to be working. Need to play with this a bit more. All in all, couldn't be happier. Great phone. Got it from Amazon and that might be key. Third parties could be dangerous, so watch the reviews if you take a chance with one.

First off I have had many many phones, all the iphones, except the newest one, the original one x, galaxy s3, Note 1 and 2......all are good phones, but each a course has flaws, I could rant on about each, but for this specific phone, the one x+ I will just stay on topic.I was waiting for this phone for a looong time! I had the one x, liked it, but memory and battery weren't the best! I don't use a lot of apps, I don't play many games, I am all about internet, video, listen to music in the car, video taking, and picture taking! So first off the pro's! The camera is great!! I love it! Burst mode is an excellent, but yet almost standard feature on high end smartphones today. Video quality was great as well! I don't get super picky like your youtube reviews where they are comparing one picture on a phone to another. However, the camera is a huge selling point. The unibody is great!! The feel is outstanding, one of the very very few phones I did not want a case on, but for my OCD, I got a slim snap case from casemate....good quality btw!As for the phone, amazing screen! I actually don't mind sense or even touchwiz (for those who don't know, its the background operating system used on androids, except say the nexus, if you want a 100% android phone, get the nexus, samsung = touchwiz, HTC = sense.Sense is well done, the layout is very nice!! I had zero complaints!! It doesn't interfere too much with the "jelly bean" experience where as Samsungs newer models with touchwiz seem to be a little much at times! (Again, my opinion). Now if your reading this your wondering whats wrong? Honestly not much! The reason I gave it three stars was first due to the memory. Its fine, 32 gb. However, remember apps and music off amazon take up space pretty fast! Also no SD cart slot, why? I think each company is pulling for a cloud service of some kind, which is good and bad.The camera on the back, next the to the stunning screen, is the crown jewel! But it sticks out, not as much as the One X I don't think, but even to where a case was needed mostly to protect the lens!! It will scratch!!!! If I were to put it on a table naked, no case or bumper, the lens could hit the surface! More of an OCD thing for me!Finally what killed it for me was the battery. Yes, they (HTC) say its improved, but if your living in a LTE area, plus the faster processor drain the battery! I have been on many forums and read people state they can get a 8 hrs out of it without a charge, I drained my battery like I always do, but every time I would look at it, even with the power saver on, the battery would drop greatly! I am talking 10% in an hour or so and this is on stand by, like normal, I even had it stop checking my mail every 15 min. to see if that would help and it didn't. I put a 3rd party battery saver app and it worked great! But you become disconnected from the net per say, so I would unlock my phone, check the mail and boom, 20 new messages. This is ok if your not relying on e-mail but if you are, it sucks! In the end I had to give in for time being to the Note 2. However, I love HTC and their phones, but the battery really just ruins the whole experience. If you want a phone for texting and a little net surfing here and there then this may be fine, but for those who want to play music, watch videos, record, etc. You will get very annoyed with the non removable battery!! Hope this helps!! Now I should probably work! ah ha!

I will start off by cutting to the chase. If you are looking for a new phone, this is a great phone. I highly recommend it.Now, lets get to the reasons why I love this phone.First of all, the screen on this phone is amazing. I recently switched from an iPhone, and I have to say, I was very nervous about moving to a new device that didn't have a "retina" display. However, all nerves went out the window when I held this phone in my hand the first time. The screen packs more pixels per inch than the iPhone and is very true to color, offering a phenomenal viewing experience. The screen on any new phone is the biggest decision point, and HTC does not disappoint; this screen is simply gorgeous. After you get past the screen, the overall design of the phone is striking. I love the black on black design, and this is the first phone I have been excited about getting in black. The screen melts into the unibody design, and the body of the phone is covered in a matte black finish that has the perfect amount of grip to it. The phone feels as solid as any phone I have ever used.Beyond the exterior of the phone, there are man features worth mentioning. First, the camera is great. HTC has loaded this phone with one of the best cameras I have ever used on a cell phone. There is a dedicated image chip inside the phone that allows the phone to process images unlike any of the competition. As if taking great pictures is not enough, you can also take full HD video, and snap photos while filming. Even when watching your video later, you can snap a picture during playback. What a great feature! The camera can also be placed in "sight seeing" mode, allowing the user to bypass the OS and go straight to the camera when unlocking the phone. This is one of the many features added to the Android experience by HTC with their Sense 4+ overlay.Alright, that provides a perfect transition to the geeky stuff. The sense 4+ overlay is not bulky, and actually adds some useful features. I would still prefer vanilla Android, but this overlay is very tolerable and does not get in the way too much. The One X+ features Jelly Bean out of the box, which is an awesome OS, and it is the main reason I switch to Android from iOS. Additionally, the One X+ is running on a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, with 1 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. In other words, this phone can handle all you can throw at it.Now on to the dislikes. One complaint and concern I have read about is the protruding camera. The back of the phone has a curve to it, which keeps the camera from sitting directly on the surface you have placed it on, and the camera housing feels like it is made out of a metallic material adding further durability. This has dampened my concern, but I have seen others with the original One X put a case on the phone specifically related to this concern. I am currently not utilizing a case, but there are many options available, and all One X cases do fit the One X+ because the body is the same exact dimensions. Also, AT&T and HTC have thrown some bloatware on the divice, but most of it can be disabled through the settings, and with 64 GB of storage, the concern is further alleviated. I am a little ticked off that AT&T continues to block the free 25 GB Dropbox account (Verizon does this too, FYI). AT&T encourages you to use their "Locker" service as an alternative, which does not work and is a waste of time. I was primarily concerned with using Dropbox to back up my photos, and have since discovered that signing up for Google+ will instantly get you a free backup of all photos and video you take with the phone through their "intant upload" service. I even had photos from my iPhone on there.

After a short, three months of bliss after upgrading from my iPhone 4, the backlighting decided it couldn't take it anymore, and shorted itself. So, I'm back on iPhone 4, now a few years and several OS upgrades old, and it is hard, having tasted heaven. But, when I paid 880 SGD for it (it was not purchased on Amazon, which is probably a good idea), I did expect it to last a tad longer. After much deliberation and approximately 4.5 hours before, after a three week wait, my Swiss carrier decided that my new Singaporean address warranted unlocking my iPhone (also an occasion to discover that Singapore has no returns policy), I was "convinced" by a cheerful salesman in Sim Lim Square to purchase this thing, freshly imported from the US. It was a good 300% more than I wanted to spend, but the thing was just incredible. The screen was crisp, bright. Everything, extremely responsive and intuitive. The latest Android OSes are a clear improvement on iOS and HTC Sense is built with the same care and taste as the hardware. It wasn't even a question of whether the SIII would be considered - its screen was vaguely purple tinted, it felt plasticky and cheap... I briefly gave the One S and (Galaxy) Nexus a look, but their pixelated, old school screens just put me off their price tags. One X it had to be.The combination of the large screen and LTE (I assume it was LTE, 4G lit up all the time) really changed my life. No more Kindle, tablet or PC reading. I was reading entire books on my commute, looking things up in seconds, and the very intuitive pull down bar at the top was exactly how I dreamed multitasking to be.There was a fair amount of AT&T bloatware included, which I never managed to get rid of, but the thing was fast enough for this not to be an issue except at startup. Battery life was absolutely fine! The only times I almost didn't finish the day were when I went crazy with pictures (think >300 8MP shots...). Screen is the main battery hog, so it's really about being careful. Memory is fuzzy now, but I seem to recall some kind of fast charge feature whereby the phone would rapidly drink up enough energy to half or 3/4 battery before finishing its charge a tad slower. Then one day, the screen just didn't turn on. After a couple reboots, it worked. Then not. Then again. Then not. Then permanently not. I realized it was a backlighting issue as a torchlight shined into the screen allowed me to operate it perfectly normally. There's a thread somewhere about this being a common issue with the 4G version. I brought it to HTC, and they apologized and said it would need to be sent to the US, could I please pay 200 bucks once they called me again... which they never did.So I'm back on my smaller, less bright, slower, somewhat annoying iPhone 4 and every day I am closer to buying another HTC One X. Maybe without 4G. But it left a bitter taste. Bittersweet. It is a superb piece of design, the most beautiful realisation of the genius vision pioneered by Steve Jobs not so many years ago. I sometimes take out the darkened device, and look at it with longing. The beautiful, smooth glass (alas not hard enough to resist a coin or two in the pocket). The curved back. I remember the rounded unlock. Reading my mail whilst on Kindle app. The touch home, back and windows buttons. Aaaah...I hold it true, whate'er befall;I feel it when I sorrow most;'Tis better to have loved and lostThan never to have loved at all.3 stars.

The phone was only released yesterday for AT&T, so this review will only encompass what I've experienced in the short amount of time I've owned it. That being said, I'm confident this is the best Android phone currently available for AT&T. The phone looks incredibly sleek thanks to its unibody form; the negative aspect of that is the lack of a removable battery. Luckily it seems the battery life is pretty good, and most tech review websites have confirmed that. The 4.7 inch display is incredible, and IMO the perfect size for a smartphone screen. I'm blown away by how snappy this device is; the dual core processor combined with Ice Cream Sandwich make everything about this phone silky smooth. HTC Sense 4.0 definitely takes away from the stock Android experience, which I'm sure will not sit well with the "purists" out there. However it is still a decent skin, and very user friendly. Those who are not too tech savvy will definitely appreciate it's intuitiveness. Finally, the LTE is ridiculously fast. My previous phone was a "4G" (HSPA+) phone, but LTE simply leaves that technology in the dust.PROS:- Sleek design and lightweight- Very snappy, virtually no lag or slowdown- Well above average camera for a smartphone- Blazing LTE speeds- Beautiful HD display- Intuitive for Android novices- Impressive battery life (will follow up with this since this is really just a first impression)CONS:- No removable battery- No micro-SD slot (only 16 gigs of storage on the phone; not a huge deal for me since I utilize cloud services for the most part)- HTC Sense 4.0; Only really a con for fans of stock Ice Cream Sandwich experience**UPDATED ON 5/8/12**I previously gave the phone 4 stars for lack of storage capacity and non-removable battery, but I'm changing the score to a 5 star for various reasons. Firstly, I found out yesterday that when you use Dropbox on this phone, you are automatically upgraded to an extra 25 gigs of storage for 2 years. Awesome. Since cloud storage is the way to go (IMO), this completely makes up for the missing SD port. Secondly, the battery life is incredibly good thus far. I've been using my phone non stop the past two days and by the time I went to bed last night it was still at 25% battery; I couldn't believe it still had that much juice left. I wish they would have included a number to represent how much battery % is left, but there are plenty of apps/widgets that will do this for you. Thirdly, because I'm a bit annoyed with several other "reviewers" who are giving this 1 star for ridiculous reasons (because this AT&T variant isn't available on Verizon, you're giving it a 1 star? Really dude???). This is flat out the best phone available for AT&T, and probably the best phone available on the market right now. I strongly recommend this phone to anyone looking for an upgrade, especially if you are in an LTE enabled area.**UPDATED ON 5/29/12**It's been 3 weeks since my last update and I still have nothing but praise for this phone. It flat out rocks. I've had lots of time to utilize the camera, and it's simply amazing. In fact, the camera on this phone is FAR better than my point and shoot digital camera, which sadly is now obsolete. Pictures are taken almost instantaneously when you hit the button, and the quality is incredible. If you hold down the picture button, it will snap upwards of six pictures in the matter of seconds. There have been a few complaints about the multitasking on this phone, and I would tend to agree it is a bit sub-par. Occasionally I will open my Chrome browser to read a webpage, open a newly received email, and then immediately switch right back to Chrome only to have it reload the entire page. Again, this only happens occasionally, but I do recognize the issue. However I'm confident HTC will come up with a software release in the near future that will correct the issue; us early adopters should expect things like this to pop up. Multitasking aside, it appears the locked bootloader issue has been resolved with no thanks to AT&T. Battery life is still consistently good, even with LTE enabled. Standby battery life is outstanding. Overall I'm still very impressed with this phone, I can't recommend it enough.

I purchased this phone about 6 months ago, through AT&T. I read some great reviews on the phone, and the technical specs were pretty impressive.Pros: -Powerful: A quad core CPU allows this phone to operate at blazingly fast speeds. Android 4.1 really shines with quad core, and with these specs, the phone is as functional and beautiful as the iPhone 5, if not more so. Video and games are no issue.-Beautiful and large screen: The screen is really impressive, and huge! I actually do tend to watch videos from the phone, which I never really did with previous devices. I'd put this on par with the iPhone Retina displays.- Powersave mode: This is a great feature! All phones should have this. The phone actually has a 5th CPU core, which allows the phone to use this low-power core when power-save mode is on and the display is turned off. Essentially, the phone will turn off all push data, and any unneeded services are not used. In this mode, my battery can last 2-3 days, depending on how much I use it. This is great for someone like me who spends the majority of their day in front of a PC anyway. You will still receive calls and texts, but you will not receive any notifications for things like Facebook messages, Twitter, etc. Most of the other improvements for me really have to do with the Android 4.1 OS. It's such an improvement over pre-4 versions that it's really a whole new OS in my opinion.Cons:-Buggy: I have two issues with this phone and both seem to be known issues. First, the phone will display a "No SIM card" message fairly frequently. I will have to reboot to get it working again. Sometimes this will happen 4-5 times in a day, causing me to miss calls and texts. This seems to be a well know issue, as I found a number of references to it by Googling. I contacted HTC and received a number of canned responses and was essentially told I'd need to RMA my device.-Poor Bluetooth audio quality: Using a Bluetooth headset, calls are very poor quality. In some cases, I have a hard time hearing people at all. Music quality over Bluetooth speakers is also terrible. I'm not sure how this device even passed HTC quality assurance with this issue, but it is unacceptable. Again, HTC claims they have no knowledge of this issue and that I need to RMA it, even though there are numerous references to this issue online.-Battery life: Simple put, it's terrible if you're not using Powersave mode. Especially if you turn on WiFi. With WiFi on and BLuetooh enabled, my battery last less than a day if I do not have Powersave enabled.- Size: It's a fairly big phone. Yes, it's super thin, but the width and height are larger than usual. People comment on how big my phone is. I actually don't mind it most of the time, because the size is due to the screen size.SummaryDue to the bugs, I'd recommend looking at another phone. Myself, I have to buy another phone and try to sell this one. The bugs are just unacceptable for me. And HTC's customer service is terrible. It's not likely I'll ever buy another HTC device again. Phone manufacturers should realize that it's difficult for most of us to RMA a phone. Just get it right the first time and we won't have to. Apple does it, why can't you?

PROS: Hardware, screen, ICS, HTC Sense (yes I think it is a pro!), cameraCONS: Battery life, no replaceable battery option, missing dedicated search keyRecommendation: If you are ready to compromise on the battery life then this is a definite BUY from meTo be fair, I knew what I was getting into when I bought this phone. Excellent hardware as long as you don't count battery as part of the hardware! On very basic usage like talking, texting and moderate browsing and with the screen brightness set to auto, you can probably get about 8 hours of battery life out of this. But with about 45 mins of Pandora, push email, games and basically the things the phone is actually meant to be used for, you will find yourself charging it twice in 8 hours. My average battery life on fair amount of phone usage come to about 6 hours. This includes about an hour of actual phone calls, some online chatting, about an hour of pandora and few games in between to kill time. But enough about the problems. The phone has lots of good stuff going for it.The screen is just brilliant. I will not get into the tech specs of it, but as an end user, I like what I see when it is displayed on this screen. The camera is fast as promised though I still feel it takes a little longer to launch than I would have liked it to. Once launched, the picture clicking is fast and smooth. As you may have read elsewhere, the camera is good, but don't throw away your SLRs or point & shoots just yet.The phone is fast and there is no doubt about it. I have done fair amount of multi-tasking on it and it did not seem to have an adverse effect on the performance. But I do like the ability to be able to actually close each app unlike earlier versions of Android. My one gripe with the design is the elimination of the dedicated search button at the bottom. I don't know why it was done away with as it was really useful and I am not saying that just because I had gotten used to it on my HTC Desire HD.I like the uni-body design except for the fact that now I dont even have the choice to replace the battery. Not that I did so with my old phone, but that was mainly due to lack of tech support from HTC while trying to get the right battery.I know people have been complaining about the 'limited' 32 GB of which only 26 GB is actually available with no option to expand. Personally, it is enough space for me. I do not intend to store and watch HD movies on a phone, even if it has a 4.7 inch screen.I also like that the phone came with a 25 GB dropbox account. It seamlessly connected with my existing dropbox account and simply added the additional space to my existing account. HTC Sense has a lot of integration with drop box, such as the ability to attach files in an email from your dropbox folder by sending a short url in the mail (mind you this is different then the standard option of 'Sharing' your dropbox file via email). However, this drop box integration exists only when you use the native Email app and not the Gmail app (whats up with that google?). Frankly, while google is doing a lot of great things, it needs to get its act together on integration and support of its own products. I have seen a trend that new google products are better supported by third party apps than google itself (for the longest time google docs worked much better on IE than google chrome!).Face unlock is cool but a novelty and not so much of a utility. I would have called it a utility if I did not need to press the power on button to first wake up the phone, then slide the HTC Sense lock screen to unlock the phone before even reaching the face unlock screen. There is a reason it is featured under the security tab.I am still playing with the phone and will update this review at a later date with more information.Update1: HTC released an OTA update yesterday which is said to improve the battery life along with other minor bug fixes. Today was the first day of use with the new update. The phone shows a remaining batter life of little over 50% where as in the past it would be between 30-40% by this time of the day. I will post an update after playing with it over the weekend.

I was switching from a samsung captivate to this phone. I had a terrible support experience with the samsung hardware and was hoping for a better experience overall with this phone. Unfortunately that was not to be.I like the overall look of the phone. Very attractive and also probably does not need a case as the black shell seems pretty robust. Also, on paper very impressive specs. However this looks to me like a very poor android implementation. In fact i now like the samsung captivate UI (gingerbread) much better than the HTC's jelly-bean based UI. Maybe its a personal choice, but some simple points to note: Samsung (as does apple) keeps all the app icons to a uniform size. The layout of the icons is very uniform. HTC appears extremely haphazard, not at all pleasing to the eye. The font on the HTC phone is also miserable. Comon, u have such a big screen, make use of it for the fonts. In spite of having such a big screen i have to strain myself a bit to read text anywhere in any context on this screen.I was initially happy that considering NVIDIA's reputation for heat, this phone did not heat up when i watched videos even for about an hour. However my happiness was shortlived with games. Within a few minutes of firing up the preinstalled game, the phone got very hot. Also, when i paired it via blutooth to my car's audio system, the phone got hot. And it got hotter AFTER i turned off bluetooth. And it stayed hotter even in my pocket after that. Another annoying thing is that if you play youtube with audio output thru bluetooth, there is a significant lag between the video and audio, about 4-5 seconds. Some of the fault is also from Android Jelly Bean. For all the hype about project butter and stuff, android manages to bring this quad-core 1.7Ghz phone to a crawl! Netflix just crawls on this latest and greatest OS from google. Specifically the netlflix app takes a long time to respond to touch inputs. The video playback itself is ok.Another problem is the phone size itself. It is not like i have small palms or such, but it is annoying to operate this phone with one hand (this is of course a common problem for all these big phones). I ended up dropping it a few times just while entering text. All in all, the poor font, the overheating problems didn't give me much confidence in this phone. I have since dumped this phone.Really i wish there was a phone with the same screen sizes as the previous gen (4-4.2inches) with the latest chipsets. I don't know why these manufacturers want to just go with bigger size.

So i bought the HTC One X after changing from HTC Incredible S. and really, that's a big jump in clarity, speed and performance. let's make this quick but i won't mention the actual specs figures coz it's all over the net anyway, just personal use to knw how it is.Design: Fits perfect in the hand unless ur hands are small. The feel of the cover on the back is great, doesnt leave finger print. I got the white one and the HTC logo is in metal which is sexy. many of my friends checked out the phone, and loved the design. very light.Screen: amazing wide screen, great for many tasks like web browsing, gaming...etc. the feel of the glass of the screen is SO soft that ur fingers will slide on the screen (ull knw wt i mean whn u use it). very bright (though i keep it on low brightness for better battery life and better vision for health LOL, no really) coz it is actually reallly bright at maz level.Performance: latest android installed and many apps and the phone does not lag. still flip through the screens and switch between apps easily without lagging. tried opening few apps and web browsing and the phone works fine.Phone Calls: called friends and tested the voice clarity, they all said ur voice is really clear and i can hear them clear as well. tested the ear phones that comes with it (they are not beats ear phone and also not in-ear buds. just regular HTC ear phone) used it for around 4-5 days, and yes, the other party can hear me just perfect, thu it does not stay on ur ears very well (kinda loose bcoz its not ear buds) but they do the job and clearly.Camera: 8 mp but it is okay, i wouldnt say its the best n greatest, but it is just good and clear and best about it is the snap shots, if u wud like to take few pics at few seconds, thats the one.Battery: i heard people complaining about the battery and a new software is out n all that. i didn't get any issue with bad battery probably coz that i got the phone after the release of the new tweak. bcoz i actually got a msg whn i turned on the phone for the first time, saying please update the software. but im not sure wt was that software all about. anyway, the battery is alright and not that bad as i read. i charge it once a day only with average use, 1 hour web browsing, around 1 n half hour phone call, 30 min gaming, few music tracks. quiet an average use (with low screen brightness, which is not that low by the way).Extra's: built in Face unlock phone, so u dont need to enter a number to unlock ur phone, just keep ur face there and the front facing camera will detect and Unlock. dont worry, u can take as many pics as u want to recognize u, in light, in dark, with hat, with glasses, what ever so the camera can recognize u in different looks. HTC sense 4 is pretty awesome. The keyboard, as always (and thats why i love HTC) to type numbers and charachters, u can just long press on the specific character and there u go (instead of changing the page to press a number then back again to the letters page)what i didnt like about it (though i knew it and bought it anyway) the battery cant be changed and the micro SD is not external. internal Memory and battery. and the power button is on the top, for a big screen i think power button should be on the side like samsung phone coz on the top u really have to stretch ur finger, but that's just a personal opinion.that's all i cud think at the moment, please let me know if u have any Q's

I've switched to the OneX from a Samsung Captivate that I had from the first day it was released. I do know my way around Android and then some (I'm a software engineer by profession). Here's my impressions of the phone after a couple of days of use - hope it helps others to make an informed decision :Pros:** Snappy and responsive - and very good specifications. I know most people dont care but here's the deal : If you buy your phone on contract you want it to last at least a year and a half without it becoming obsolete. I had the experience with Captivate - I was able to resist switching to the latest and greatest as my phone was great when it first arrived and was good enough at the end of the upgrade cycle.** Great camera - the best you can find in today's market (under carrier contract).** Sleek design - the 4.7" screen just melts away. My wife's iPhone 4s feels chunky beside it. Have no problems having this in trouser pockets or jeans and no - it doesn't show an inappropriate bulge.Cons:** Some poor design choices by HTC - they may not all be an issue for everyone but as an end user we pick and choose what WE want - not what is jammed down our throats. The battery size is small for the screen size (1800 mAh) and would not last more than 20 hrs for light to moderate use or 8-12 hrs for heavy use. Also, the battery is not user replaceable. There is no memory expansion slot for plugging in our own micro-SD card. I can live with both these design choices but others may find it a dealbreaker.** Software has a learning curve - this is minor though. In fact I do like the look and feel of HTC Sense 4 after a couple of days. There sure a a few quirks about the interface that I'm still getting used to.** Locked Bootloader and "crippled" Google Wallet - I know this is a touchy subject and people would rant over taking off a star just because it is the fault of AT&T (I'm sure its only speculation but I do feel its true) but please understand that we are talking about the AT&T version of the phone so I feel it valid. I'll go into more details below."Locked Bootloader":Most reviewers claim this is a non issue and it doesn't matter to the general public. But here's my take on this coming from personal experience. Android phones in general tend to lag behind in updates from carriers and companies due to the nature of the business and other factors. meanwhile the software ecosystem around Android keeps moving forward creating an unpleasant user experience as time goes along and we still cannot "upgrade" the phone as we are stuck in the contract cycle. I had this happen to me with Samsung Captivate - the phone came with "Eclair" version of Android and took 8 months after the release to move to Froyo and then another 6 months to Gingerbread. Meanwhile the user experience around Android apps was moving towards ICS. The only thing that kept me happy was that at the end of my official warranty period I could visit a development community and "upgrade" my phone unofficially to ICS. I also noticed that most of my coworkers who weren't software geeks had done that to their Sprint EVO phones too and claimed that that was the only thing keeping them on the phone long enough for the next best thing to arrive while not tied to a contract.

I got this phone Jan 21st 2013. The next generation of phones were supposed to be released in another 3 months but I didn't want to wait. I was upgrading from an iPhone 4 and mainly wanted a bigger screen, quad core, and 4g. I narrowed my choice down to the HTC One X+ and the LG Optimus G. When I got to the AT&T store to look at both, physically the Optimus G looked way nicer. It wasn't until I used both of them and talked to the sales rep that I was sold on the One X+. The display one the HTC is hands down nicer, having great detail and color. The LG looked a little grainy, worse than what I was used to looking at on my old iPhone 4. The other thing is that the LG has a glass back which means if dropped the back and front are susceptible to breaking. No thanks. The rubberized back on the HTC would be more functional, gripping the inside of my pocket and any surface I put in on. That may not seem very important but I dropped my old phone way too many times from it sliding out of my pocket, off a smooth surface, or sliding around in the car. The HTC is also a great deal lighter and feels slimmer. The battery life is good, lasting just as long as my iPhone 4 when the battery saver option is switched on. Without battery saver on, it sucks down the battery fast. The camera turns on so fast on this phone too, there is very little lag time, which is nice if you want to catch a photo quickly. The switch from photo to video, and front facing to rear facing camera is also fast. The app manager button is handy and I find myself using it all the time now, and overall the phone is more intuitive for me to use than my girlfriend's Samsung Galaxy Note II. It also seems to run faster and with less glitches than hers. I havent downloaded a ton of apps yet (maybe 10) and haven't jammed up the phone with multiple widgets and home screens, but it handles running a workout app with pdf in the internet browser, messages, email, and music in background just fine. Call quality and the speaker are on par with most other phones but nothing that really stand out to me as clearly superior. All in all I am very pleased with this phone.

I ordered this phone because I was going to be going overseas for several months, and wanted to have a phone that I could use anywhere in the world. The International version of the HTC One X, while offering better hardware configurations, fit very well. I use T-Mobile while in the US, and with the new tower integration, I am able to receive 3G speeds within the Seattle area.Additionally, I have been able to use microSIM cards from SMART in the Philippines, as well as other providers in Taiwan and Singapore. The phone is powerful. It's slim, and while it's a plastic phone, the plastic is high quality and very sleek. (Warning- don't drop it!) The screen is incredibly bright, and while it has Gorilla Glass, people seem to say that the quality in this department is iffy, some are indestructible, others get scratched by merely looking at the screen with an ugly thought. So I've been using a Skinomi screen protector, which has done the job relatively decently (but with the usual characteristics, fraying at the edges, yellowing tint, etc).My main gripe about the phone is that the camera lens sticks out the back, and the glass cover is prone to scratches. The glass is not gorilla glass but merely a high impact glass, which is easily scratched. I have a rather ugly slash that if it were a tiny bit more to the side, would have interfered with the sensor while taking photos. This is a huge issue for such a great phone.Secondly, the battery life is abysmal. With my mobile data on, my phone after 10 hours of use has dropped into a dangerously low 25-30% charge. Using wifi, my phone also results with the same charge. If you do not have them activated, the phone of course will behave like any other phone, hardly taking up any juice. But I've had to purchase an external battery charger in the case I'm out for the day. It's a bit annoying, though I know all smartphones currently have this issue. All in all, the phone is great. I paid a huge price for mine since I bought it early, but now the prices have fallen to the point where it's worth taking a look at these phones. Even if they're 'old news', they're still extremely powerful and can handle pretty much anything still out currently.

I read the reviews before writing my own and I think that they might be misleading. Especially if you care a lot about the stars. This is a great phone without a doubt. I will try to give the best review and not overrate it or "hate" on it like in most reviews. I truly believe that this phone deserves a 9/10 or 4.5 stars. The phone looks amazing and the design will definitely surprise you. The 4.7inch display is beautiful and I really love just looking at it. The build quality is superb and it isn't to large for my "man" hands. For smaller hands you might want to check it out and hold it at a store before buying it because it is a little large. When it comes to performance, I have nothing to complain about. Nothing has crashed on me and honestly the speed of this phone is lightening fast! I've seen consistent performance for the one week using the phone. The camera is great, not perfect and it has a lot of great features on the camera. Keyboard on the phone is mediocre , you could even say bad. I just downloaded an alternate keyboard, so not a big issue. Most importantly, call quality and reception have been flawless so far. However the earpiece could be a tad louder. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. The many concerns people have are the battery life, memory storage and the locked bootloader. I understand all the concerns and if they were fixed than the phone would be a 10/10 phone. Battery life has been great for me though and I can always get through a day with a full charge although it would have been nice to have the option for a removable battery. Memory... it does kinda suck. Wish the phone had more. For me, I would have used it to store music, but I just uploaded my whole library of music to Google Music and now I can listen to music ALMOST everywhere. Finally, the bootloader... it's locked. Oh well... nothing to cry about for me. If you need a phone with the bootloader unlocked don't buy this one.SummaryPros: Beautiful Screen, Great Build Quality & Design, LTE, Performance Speed, Android 4.0, Camera and Awesome features, Call Quality, Reception, 25GBs of Cloud Storage from Dropbox, Google Music (Cloud Storage), Beats Audio (you can choose to use it or not)In the middle: (depends on you) HTC Sense 4 UI, Large bodyCons: Non removable battery, medium sized battery (good battery life though), No expandable memory (on top with the minimal internal memory), locked bootloaderThis is AT&T's best Android phone. If you are on AT&T and you want android, this should be a no brainer. If you are deciding between different operating systems then this decision might not be as easy. Honestly, I think this is the best phone out there. Until, the SG3 or the iPhone 5 comes out to compete with it and even then it will be close. Also, you have to wait for those phones and probably a long time too. You can't go wrong with this phone. I'll be happy to be stuck with this phone for 2 years.

I got my one x yesterday. Been looking for a new phone since April. I considered the Sony Xperia S - has the best camera and a great screen but still no ics, thick, buttons are hard to press. I also waited for the Samsung s 3 which is also a great phone but it was a lot pricier and certainly looked cheaper! This is my first htc phone. I have used Sony, Samsung, Nokia and blackberry. So, initial impressions were not great. Unboxing is part of the experience and the one x comes in a cheap box with cheap earphones. It also took some time to get wifi to work - not exactly idiot proof. Software had to be updated twice and one trap many owners fall into (including myself!) is doing the update with the phone attached to a charger - the phone never reboots! Again, I thought htc could have done a better job ensuring a smoother experience. After that it did get better. First, the phone just feels very very good in the hand. The polycarbonate material just feels GOOD. the weight is also just nice - surprisingly light for a phone this size, yet not too light. The screen is as beautiful as the reviewers claim. I use the new iPad (am writing this review on it) so I've gotten used to a super sharp screen. The one x doesn't disappoint - really nice, sharp, natural colors. The curve of the screen also adds to the immersiveness of whole experience. The other thing that stands out is the sheer speed of this phone. Everything works instantly and smoothly - apps, web pages, videos - EVERYTHING. that tegra 3 chip does live up to its reputation. Finally, I love the 32 gb of phone memory - more than enough for lots and lots of apps and music. The keyboard is excellent too. I am a big fan of gesture input - the version on this is easy to use. Typing is faster on this than on the Blackberry 9900 (which to me, is the gold standard). Sound quality is decent but not fantastic (am referring to voice - I haven't played any music on it yet). Battery is probably its biggest weakness. The battery drains quickly, even with brightness set at 30-40% and not very intensive usage. I've done all the software updates but it hasnt improved. It isn't a big issue for me since I'm used to carrying portable chargers with me (if you own a blackberry 9900, you will understand why!) but I'm guessing it could be unpleasant for the phone to die in the middle of dinner at a nice restaurant. Finally, the camera is fast and the big screen makes for easy composition. In terms of quality, it seems consistent with other 8 megapixel cameras from the previous generation.Overall, it is a fast and beautiful phone at an attractive price. It could come in a nicer package and the battery will not last through some days but hey, beauty never comes without some flaws!
