I have had the expensive headsets for gaming, paying upwards of $125 a set, and I cannot believe these little gems rival those expensive ones! Add to the fact they are not smooshing my ears against my head like the "full ear" headphones do. Everyone who I have spoken/gamed with says the vocal quality is equal or better than my other headsets too.

If you do not bother having to turn the headphones around your ear so that they are sustained in it, and if you are careful not to allow the cable tangling when not remove them and use, works perfectly fine. The sound is good and also very cheap. Once they were in their ears, they are comfortable. THE MICROPHONE WORKS FINE.

Two weeks after purchasing this headset the sound began to get a bit iffy. It would crackle or only work on one side. About a week and a half ago, one of the earphones snapped off, I used electric tape to put it back on and continued using it. Two days ago, I went to take my headset off and as it cleared my head the band snapped in half. I have never stretched these, never manhandled nor mistreat them. I was thoroughly disappointed that they only lasted a few months. I now much search for a new headset. Only purchase this for a temporary headset.

This is flimsy. Be careful when taking the headphones off and the ear coushions block out a large portion of sound but may hurt your ears as they push and squash them and can cause pain.

See those headsets up there? Don't buy them. I walked into WalMart looking for a decent headset to use for my computer the other day, and these were the 'nicest' looking ones they had. They weren't the most expensive, but they certainly weren't the cheapest either. About a week or so ago I almost bought a much cheaper set made by Logitech, but decided to look at a few reviews first. Why I didn't do the same for this headset is beyond my knowledge.I stood in the isle for quite a while, debating whether or not to purchase them at that moment or a later time, after reading a few reviews. I hate blind buying and very rarely do it. But for some reason the 'HP' part of the packaging seemed to reassure me that it'd be a good buy. I haven't heard too many negative things about Hewlett Packard, then again I really don't follow hardware reviews, something I should start doing after buying this...monstrosity.Back home and finally getting a chance to try them out, I immediately realized that they were quite tight. I thought perhaps that I'd get use to it, but it isn't looking likely. I also noticed the volume control and how close it was to my chin. My previous headset's volume control was a good foot and a half/2 feet away from my chin. The HP Premium Stereo Headset's volume control, however, is a mere 3 inches away. And you don't even have the ability to turn the volume all the way down.The cord itself isn't nearly as long as I'd like it to be, either. From the volume control to the tips of the jacks I have a little over 4 feet to work with, giving me about 5 feet in total cord length. This is way too short for a headset, and I really wish it would've been stated on the box(something like that should be required in my opinion).Like I said earlier, the headset itself if quite tight. This isn't a huge problem for those who don't wear glasses(but it may still be a bit uncomfortable). However, to those who do wear glasses(like me), it's a real bitch. It pinches the temples between your ears and head, creating an extremely uncomfortable feeling which pretty much requires you to take them off every now and then for a break. Then we have the sound quality, which is mediocre at best.The microphone works, but the headphones seem muffled. Speaking of the microphone, did I mention the mute button? No? That's because it doesn't even work. Then again, I may have gotten a defective headset. The bottom line is simply avoid this headset at all costs. Definitely not worth the [...]+ I paid, the majority of which probably went into the collapsible design. You can fold up the ear pads and then fold the entire headset together, which is utterly useless to me since I'll never take the time to do such a thing. Even if I were to travel and brought them with me I'd simply wrap the cord around them, like I always do.HP, how could you have ever approve of such a crap-tastic piece of hardware?Update: 3+ months later, and I guess I have gotten use to the tight fit. Everything else, however, still stands.UPDATE 2: 1 year later and they have broken in the middle.

Snapped in two pieces only in a few months of light use...very poor joint...looks superior from outside, but for $40, I'd look elsewhere. I was too cheap to buy another one, so duck tape did the trick for now...I only needed it for making a few internet calls here and there! Sound quality is poor as well.

These phones snapped in half after 3 days of use. Just look at the design of the hinge on the headband and you will immediately see why. I discovered the retailer I purchased them from over the counter will not take back consumer electronics without a receipt, which I did not save. I contacted HP. I guess I must be naive to think that they would stand behind a product made in some unknown factory in China and supported by polite technicians from India you must have mistaken for someone who cares about your problem. The phones are so generic and cheap, they don't even bother to inscribe the model number on them. It only appears on the box! I have purchased several HP computers (on the retiree purchase plan) and have run into the same story-- defective products they won't stand behind. I have finally had enough with HP products. Save yourself a lot of grief and buy a good set of headphones. You can purchase e.g., Sennheiser headphones for about $100 that are extremely comfortable and have outstanding sound quality. You will thank yourself for making a wise investment.

The product is a great great great product. The sound quality and voice quality both are great (not so much for gaming, but a good casual-use item). The structure is a bit flimsy... It breaks rather easily at the hinge in the top. Very easy to use -- just plug it in and the computer automatically gets it ready to use and works smoothly from there. Very comfortable, however if you have it on for more than 3 hours, it tends to hurt the ears. Overall, it's a case of "you get what you pay for". It's a good headset so it's worth what I payed, but I won't be buying this one again.

The seller's ad stated "new" item. When I received the product it was in an open package. It did not look new, but at the same time did not look used. I reached out to the seller who apologized and backed up what he sold by refunding the purchase and allowing me to keep the product. I am using it now and it is great! I appreciated how the seller responded to their error.

The plastic hinges on-top snapped within the first month. I had a wooden banana hanger I kept on my desk that I used to hang these off of to avoid accidental damage. My wife put them on one day and they dropped off her head. The hinges just snapped. I had an old stainless steal ruler, it had some flex to it so I cut and taped it to the head set with black electrical tape. You actually couldn't really notice, except the cushion where covered with tape and sometimes your hair would stick. I used them for about another two months, still hanging them on the hanger. All of a sudden the retractable slide on the side snapped and the ear piece fell off when I was adjusting it. I was dealing with HP on a matter regarding my computer purchase, I had brought it up to customer support but they never did anything about it and like an idiot I never followed up with the headset, as the computer issues kept me occupied. Waste of money, a self destructing headset.I actually used black tape and a couple of paper clips to fix it once again, at least on side is still adjustable. I got to get something out of them, cost me like [...]. It's not a pretty site but they work. There now 40% electrical tape and 10% stainless steal and 50% crap.

I love these headphones! It is my second pair (I broke the first pair) and liked them so well that I bought the exact same pair on Amazon. They have great sound quality and I use them to listen to music, watch videos, and to edit my weekly Whitney Sews youTube episodes. If you are looking for good quality at a good price then I recommend these headphones.

I have a bad record with headsets so far. I either short them out by running over the cord with my chair, rip them out of usb/stereo plugs or just sit on them. I purchased this product in desperation (after sitting on my previous ones that I had carelessly left in my chair.) I use Skype as an office phone (I take my work extension with me everywhere I go) and I needed a headset. When I brought it home, I looked at these reviews and decided I'd have to be very safe with this.I liked that I could take this headset along easily in my laptop case as they fold so nicely. The sound quality is good for the size and people told me they could hear me quite clearly on Skype calls.Unfortunately, after several months (today), I was taking them off my head (and fairly carefully) when they snapped in half! I don't know if they had been slowly breaking before, but pieces flew everywhere. The folding feature was nice, but the cost for that convenience is too high in my opinion (obviously.) HP should return everyone's money who bought this poorly engineered headset.

I had these for about a month. They were working really good. Then, one day my son found a small piece of black plastic, smaller than my pinky nail. I didn't recognize what it came from, but hang on to it in case I found it. Sure enough, two days later I found that it came from the right side of my headset. The part that slides up and down on the headset was cracked in about 6 different places. I taped it but it did no good, within 30 minutes of wearing it the right side had disintegrated into about 12 pieces. I wasn't able to find all of the pieces that fell off. Not one to be deterred I inspected the left side, as that's the side that has the microphone. It didn't have any cracks, so I put the headset back on and kept playing, despite the fact that it was now pinching my head on the right side. Sure enough though, when I went to take it off so I could get up the left side broke off in my hand.HP really needs to go back to the drawing board on this one and come up with a better material to use. If I could I would give it negative stars, but 1 is as low as it goes.DO NOT BUY THIS HEADSET.

i bought this same model of headset at an actual brick and mortar store, but i just had to make it known just how horrible this is so no one else needs to suffer with a bad buy. they looked alright, cost alright; but there is so, so, so much wrong with these. firstly, they hurt and that's enough, you can try to orientate the headset every which way, but in the end you can only get them to hurt your ears SLIGHTLY less. if you can get past the pain you'll find that they sound awful as well. the cord is very short, it's a headset so typically one might find them connected to a pc, you couldn't possibly connect them to the back and even if you plugged them into the front you couldn't stand up without being yanked painfully down, even if it wouldn't be a pc you were plugged in to you couldn't use them reasonably, so save your money. hp has just been upgraded itself to a four letter word in my book.

I wish I had read the reviews already written on these headphones; I could have saved myself from learning the hard way. These headphones are in fact extremely uncomfortable to wear for any length of time; I quickly found they were useless for internet chat while gaming because they became literally painful to wear after about an hour. They were actually working reasonably well with Rosetta Stone language software until they cleanly snapped right along the top-center of the headband. Regardless of how great the audio quality is or isn't or how well the microphone does or does not work, I can't do very much with two halves of a headset.

Good mic and and audio quality but the headsets design is flawed. This model is notorious for breaking sadly from what I have found out. I bought on a whim one night at a brick and mortar store because I needed a new headset bad and I thought it looked decent. After I did some reading on the internet I found out that this headset is notorious for breaking, the plastic design is cheap. The reason is I think is that they made it too small, and the plastic snaps after repeated use when an adult stretches it to put on their head. Mine just broke last night I was not overly rough with it I just went to put it on and the right side speaker snapped right off the main base.

This headset is awesome, sounds great and microphones records well.However, wearing them will cause them to break. Yes, by simply wearing the headset as instructed, they will break. I had these headphones for 2 weeks. I took great care of them, till one day sone side connected snapped and fell off. I taped the broken peice back on and 2 days later the other side snapped. I tapped that back up then the other piece of the headphone snapped. The tape held the headphones together better than the actual plastic. After the 3rd piece broke I helped the rest break and put it in the trash where it belongs.This is probably constructed of the most brittle plastic I have ever seen.DO NOT BUY! I feel ripped off.

The sound is good, but the hinge that goes over your head snapped after about 3 months. The cord is so short that if you have a computer mountednear the floor, you cannot sit normally in a standard office chair. I had a cheap $8 headset from Walmart that fell apart after about 2 years..so I thought I would buy a quality headset from HP, but it was far more flimsy than the Walmart Durabrand.

I have rarely every purchased a product that I can find nothing good to say about. This is one of those rare occasions. The audio quality is mediocre, the mic sound quality is average but what really makes these headphones stand out is just how terribly uncomfortable they are to wear. I use voice chat via Skype for business all day long and after about 30 minutes with these things on my head and my ears start throbbing. I tried stretching the head phones out for a few days leaving them stretched over a block just slightly larger than my head and it still didn't help. The rigid plastic tightly clamps my head and makes me feel like I have my head in a vice. Considering how much I paid for these, I didn't expect a ton, but the Logitech headphones I paid $10 less for are significantly better.
