1. Непонятный датчик загрузки документа, не всегда "понимает", что документ загружен.
2. Маленький картридж, дорогая заправка.
3. Приём факсов на компьютер возможен только при прямом подключении к компьютеру (USB).
4. Копии бледные - оттиски многих печатей...

- - Техподдержка по данной модели обслуживает исключительно на московском или питерском номерах. Печатает по настроению. И чтобы настроить бесперебойную работу по сети на несколько машин, пришлось поплясать с бубном.

- + Превосходный аппарат! До этого был LaserJet 3055, который полностью устраивал по функционалу , и главное по надежности в течении 4-х лет. То же самое можно сказать и об этой модели. Огромный ПЛЮС - это что он работает в сети посредством подключения по WiFi. Первое подключение к WiFi предельно простое! Главное делать все по инструкции, и буквально в 3 клика у Вас все получится:). Цена для устройства с таким функционалом просто шикарная! Драйвера установились вообще на раз-два, не вставляя никаких дисков, просто подключив его по USB...все остальные...

Закупили 5 штук. В итоге три штуки пришлось отдать на ремонт по гарантии, по одной и той же причине. При подключению по сети начинали бесконечно перезагружаться (видимо, при получении ip-шника). После отключения...

I've had my hp laserjet pro M1210 for nearly 4 months and it's been GREAT!! I'm just an individual who prints sometimes, not a business, but I was sick of buying cheap inkjet printers (which were HP brands as well as other brands) which kept jamming the paper with their cheap plastic roller mechanisms OR which wouldn't at all take the paper inside, so I decided to lay down the $$'s at Office Depot for this black & white only fax/copier/scanner/printer which has reliable grippable metal rollers and it's been fast, reliable, clearly printing, and fabulous!! The printer is MUCH heavier to carry compared to the cheap lightweight inkjet printers.I have NOT had any paper jams in all this time and for ME, that's a miracle!! :-) I use it wired, not wireless by just using my old scanner's connector onto it.The buttons on it are easy to use to copy and fax. You can download the manual online by googling for it. Also, the other great thing about it is you do NOT need to be connected to a computer in order to fax or copy. You just use the attached small keypad with number and function buttons to fax or copy. Another great thing about it is the keypad can be pushed in so it doesn't take up much room when you're finished with the machine and pulled out again when you need to use the machine. If you don't like opening the heavy top half of the machine to scan or copy your document onto the flatbed scanner, especially for more A LOT of documents, then on the top, it also has an "automated" system like you see in the library and copy places where you can just put in a small stack of papers and the machine will take them in one by one automatically rather than you standing there the whole day just putting it on the machine one by one.The only 2 problems i've had so far is that when I'm copying a bunch of papers the automated way, they jammed. However, it copies and prints swiftly. It has a scanner which is not bad to work with either, but it takes FOREVER to scan a page because the software is so slow and it "previews" first before letting you accept it and THEN it actually scans it. It's fine to scan this way if you only have 1 page or so or want to be careful before accepting the scan, but I have BUNCHES of documents to scan and if I could find a faster way of doing it, that would be a BIG improvement for me.I've faxed on it, hooking my phone and phoneline onto it, and don't have problems either, except you have to watch the way you program it since I have to turn it off in the daytime if someone's calling or else it will take over the call and just keep beeping if the other person's not faxing to you and just calling.I didn't want to spend $75 on an original HP black/white cartridge that would last me only 2 to 4 months, so I took a chance and tried a REALLY LOW inexpensive compatible replacement Compatible Black Laser Toner Cartridge for HP Laserjet CE285A (85A) P1102W, M1130, M1210,. I'm glad I tried it because I save A LOT of $$$'s in ink and the quality is acceptable even for legal court documents. Nothing bad happened to my printer. It was an easy install.Another note is in addition to saving a lot of ink by lowering the inkjet setting to lighter, not darker setting, you can also save ink another way - even if the system says it's low on ink, I ignore the warning and continue to use the same cartridge until it actually comes out looking bad on the document and even when it comes out with lines of spaces, if it's only for a grocery list or non-essential item, I only really change the cartridge when my document has to be at an acceptable level like a letter to a company or a court document.Update February 8, 2013This printer is still working excellently and truly as another reviewer said is a great "workhorse" printer, constantly reliably printing time and time again. I've never had to move the printer container in and out like I usually had to with the cheaper costing printers.

Pros: This is a nice looking printer, with a reasonably small footprint; black and white prints and copies look very, very good. Prints quickly, even when waking up from sleep mode; wireless printing easy to set up and works well even from the second floor.Cons: Printing is not as quiet as hoped for, but not terrible. The scanning mechanism is quite noisy and bothersome. The USB was very difficult to set up, believe it or not. The wireless set up was performed first, and it was a breeze. Then the USB install (from the included CD, v.3) would not recognize the printer, and kept telling me the printer was not connected. Downloaded the latest (v.4) driver, that still didn't help. Then uninstalled the wireless drivers and was able to get v.4 drivers to install. I then downloaded and installed the latest firmware. Decided to leave it connected via USB to my desktop, but the other laptops continued to work wirelessly just fine.I do a lot of scanning; mostly 1-4 pages, single-sided, B&W. SCANNING AND SENDING TO A FOLDER IS AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. First, you cannot scan directly from the printer, you must use the PC. With the HP Scan software, I could not get it to remember the 'Save To' folder, so I had to enter it and the scan settings for each scan. I could not control the size of the saved file (for a medium-saturated B&W 2-page document, it created a 30 MB PDF file (yes, 30MB). I readjusted the ppi to 150 and B/W (not 256 color), and the file size dropped to 7MB (for 2 pages!). I called HP to ask for help, but the rep said he didn't know much about the scanning software and suggested I use the Windows (WIA) scanning software. I tried that but it would not scan to a .pdf document, so I couldn't use that. (The HP rep didn't know anything about the READIRIS software that came with the printer.) I was able to get a 1MB file using the READIRIS software, but it was bulky, time consuming and very user unfriendly.I moved from an Officejet Pro L7780 to the laserjet Pro series, thinking that it would work as well but be more convenient for my B&W printing. The Officejet series will scan and save to a pre-defined folder with two button pushes on the printer control panel. This new printer (Laserjet Pro) does not allow scanning at all from the front control panel, so if scanning is a necessary capability, forget this printer.After 7 or 8 attempts to get a properly-sized .pdf file from a scan, the auto document feeder stopped picking up the two pages. Can you imagine? I thought I was inserting the pages incorrectly, but there's really only one way to insert them. The display would read "Document Loaded" but then it would try and try to pick up the first page, then finally give up and say "Document Feeder Jam" and then quit trying.Am I a complete idiot, probably. In my office, I have one quad display on my computer and dual displays on the other 6 computers, run a wired/wireless network with a server and two routers, have remote access set up successfully on all the desktops, and manage sophisticated software programs that are expensive. Do I know what I'm doing? For the most part yes, but this printer was too much for me. I think I'm going back to Officejet printers and color cartridges I don't need/use. Preparing now to return it.If you never plan to use the scan capability, then this is a reasonably good (but not quiet) B&W laser printer.

I got this printer a couple weeks ago from HP's online store, and I'm quite pleased overall.FYI, I'm using this with two Win7 64bit PCs and an Actiontec router which is supplied by Verizon FiOS.PROS - I won't mention the obvious features, as they're easy enough to spot reading the main description of the printer and looking at the pictures. - It's very well packed! I doubt the standard "fling it up there on the porch" approach that some delivery guys take would hurt this thing. - Comes with a (short) USB cable where most printers these days do not. Since I hoped to use it wirelessly, it was nice to have a cable included for initial setup rather than buying one separate. See the cons below for more info on the USB cable. - Setup in Win7 64bit was a breeze! I just followed the directions. That got the wireless part setup. From there, my other Win7 64bit PC easily found it on the network. Now they can both print to it. - It works with WPA2! I didn't have to downgrade my wifi network to use the less-secure WEP. (It does work with WEP for sure, and it seems to work with WPS, too.) - Upon changing my wireless settings, I just plug the printer USB back into the PC and run the HP wireless config. The software gives me the option to enter info manually or have the printer auto-detect network settings from my PC. Both ways seem to work. - The document feeder on top works fine for copies. I've used it a few times now without any jams or failed copies. - The ID copy feature is awesome! It lets you fill up a single page with incremental scans of smaller images without printing more than one sheet ... and all from the printer, no PC software-based editing required. - The control panel is adjustable, so you can tilt it up. It makes it so much easier to see if you have the printer set below eye level. - While shopping, I read some reviews/reports that other wifi printers wouldn't wake up from standby mode to print. I've had no such problems with this M1217nfw - if the power button is on, it will wake up and print when told.CONS: To me, these are negatives, but they're nowhere near bad enough to make me regret buying this printer. I can't say if they'd be deal-breakers for other folks or not. - The included USB cable is very short, something like 2 feet. If you plan to use this via a USB cable, be prepared for the back of the printer to be within 2 feet of the USB port on your PC. That could be tricky for some folks' computer desks. (You could buy a longer cable, I suppose, but that makes the total cost higher.) - There isn't really a "paper tray" at all. There's a fold down door at the bottom of the front. You lay it down and put the blank paper in there. It sits there, exposed to light and air and dust and dog hair. I will have to take the paper out and close the door if I don't plan to print for a while. The lack of a drawer-type tray that slides completely under the printer means it's not quite as easy to be "on demand printer" at this house. - The normal toner cartridge (not the intro one it ships with) has something like a 1600 page yield and seems to be $50-$60. That seems on the expensive side of cost-per-page for laser printers. If you do a lot of printing be sure to consider that.

I'm a reasonably tech-savvy person and it took over 2 hours for me to configure this printer to work wirelessly with Mac Lion. The documentation was either missing or quite simply wrong (referring, for example, to configuration utilities that don't exist). And, in figuring it out by trial and error, I had to start over several times--sometimes, for instance, it would just refuse to launch the EWB (see below), but wouldn't even give me an error message to know it had failed. The indifference & contempt HP has for Mac customers is palpable here. I never recommend that people buy products from companies that can't even be bothered to veil their disdain for them.That said, if you've got this for one reason or another and are struggling with the setup:(1) Update the firmware from the HP website.(2) Run the HP Setup Utility with the USB cable connecting printer and computer. Don't disconnect the cable until instructed.(3) Once the printer has been "installed," choose the "Print & Scan" option from System Preferences. Make sure the HP is selected, and click "Options and Supplies."(4) From Options and Supplies, choose Printer Utility.(5) From Printer Utility, choose EWB. That is Embedded Web Browser, and it should bring up a configuration menu on your computer screen. If it doesn't launch, back up and force-quit every HP app running on the computer--like HP Laserjet Professional Utility.(6) Choose the Networking tab. Choose your network, enter password.(7) Unplug the USB cable. At this point, the printer will appear as offline in your Print & Scan preferences. Run the Wireless Network Test on the printer. It should claim to be configured for wireless. If not, wipe everything, start over. (Uninstaller by itself won't get everything. Search for HP and you'll see it's left drivers in your library. Nuke those, too.)(8) Run the HP Setup Utility AGAIN. This time, at the first step, choose Network rather than USB. Run through the EXACT SAME STEPS you ran through when first setting it up via USB. (Why do you need to do this? Who knows. You are not configuring it with any new information, much less wireless-related information.)(9) Now your printer should appear in Print & Scan as online.Unless you miss the good old days of 1992, Mac users, just don't bother with this model.

I have purchased many printers over the years and have never been this satisfied as I was with this latest HP Laserjet printer which I just bought. It has been about 6 months now and it is still working flawlessly for me. It was really quick to set up on the various laptops I have in the home that are all connected to my router and it worked immediately in all these computers over the network (which I can't say was the same with my previous printers). My setup is a wired network connection from my router to the printer and then all the laptops connect through WiFi to the network.The one thing I love about this printer is how idiot-proof the buttons are to do the copy and fax. For some reason, my earlier printers were unnecessarily complex to do these tasks, especially the fax, but with this printer, just load the papers onto the top feeding tray, punch in the number and hit the green fax button. Simple enough for everyone in my house to use it!The other thing I like about it is that the printer works very quickly out of sleep mode across the network. I can print from any of my laptops in my home and the printout is always waiting for me by the time I get to the printer a few seconds later. I have not had a glitch even once in the six months with network connection problems, jammed papers, etc. Again, this was one of the worst problems I had with my earlier printers where sometimes the printing just doesn't work through the network and I have to go through random combinations of printer restarts, laptop reboots, etc. to make it work.Time will tell I guess if my excellent experience continues but I can safely say it has been working flawlessly for me for the past 6 months and ranks as one of my best overall product purchases recently.

Bought this from Costco mainly because of ease of return in case of trouble. Installed and has been on line working as advertised for a few hours. Tested out copying, printing and scanning. Seem to work well in all three areas. Not using fax. Installation on wireless net work went well. Installed in a desk top running windows 8 and a lap top windows 7. This replaces an old hp c309a which was nothing but trouble. Tried brother printer and that would not budge and connect to any wireless net work. Therefore back to hp inspire of the trouble with c309a. This printer has a small foot print, prints fast and print quality is good. Will revise the rating if it stays on line and continues to work for a couple of months at least.Will up date in a few months.

I bought this printer for my home office. I bought it because of the price and the ability to AirPrint from my iPhone. Unfortunately, I do a lot of scanning. This printer does not allow you to configure the compression settings and therefor you have no control over file size. Yesterday I scanned something at work on a different multifunction printer that was 25 pages. It came out to 975KB file size. When I scanned 7 pages with this printer today at my home office it was 4MB. That is ridiculous. I have been on the message boards, I have talked with HP, there is nothing that can be done. I even paid for a third party scanning software - no luck. So for me, it's worthless and I'll be buying something else.Background: I have been a power user of computers for 20 years+. I maintain our corporate network and software. I do things like configure the VPN and remote access. Even with that knowledge I can't get the thing to scan with a decent size.

I have owned two relatively inexpensive inkjet color printers. Not only is the ink expensive but it dries up and one day you find that your printer has stopped working as it is jammed with ink. In both cases I had unused ink cartridges which cost as much as the printer and were thrown away with the printer. I have recently purchased two lasar monochrome printers for two apartments and am extrememly satisfied with both. This comapares favorably with the Brother I recently bought. The Brother was a little easier to set up on my wireless network with a Mac. I needed tech support to help with the HP setup but understand a newer model has addressed this issue.

My husband and I purchased the product because we were tired of constantly replacing the ink in our inkjet printer. We don't print often, but when we do we typically print a lot. Inkjet printers, in our experience, have a tendency to dry out ink if they aren't used often. This printer was easy to set up, and it works just as advertised. We can print from our computers or other wireless devices over our wireless network. The only drawback we discovered is the software required to set up the wireless printing. The setup software that came with this printer runs only on Windows, and we own Mac computers. We had install Windows onto a partition on one of our Mac computers just to install the printer software. Once the printer was set up, Windows was no longer required.

Thsi unit works fine after you figure how to install it. The cd that came with it just kelp running with no promps coming up. I spent over an hour talking with HP in India of all places, back to ground zero after that. I used HP Smart Install. After installing, I had to go into my programs, Hp, and build short cuts to desk top to use scanner.

The computer can be set up properly on a PC; however, there may be a problem with a Mac, since the software provided by HP for an installation in a Mac may not have caught up with the latest operating system. I suggest you call HP at 800-474-6836 to reach a very capable and obliging group of technicians, preferably before purchase.I am able to use the machine without difficulty on my PC. With much help from the HP staff, I am able to use it on my Mac, though not to scan.I am informed that the proper drivers for the Mac will be available, though there is not a firm date.I have used the printer for only a week. Aside from the problem mentioned above, it works very well.(The printer was purchased through an Amazon seller.)

Others have reported that setting up this printer for Mac OSX 10.7 (Lion) is incredibly and unacceptably troublesome -- they're right.The printer, once set up, is fine. Print speed and quality are both good, although the printer is fairly loud. Based on scanning routine documents rather than a more precise test pattern, the scan seems good as well. The control panel is a bit cryptic, but I don't see that as a substantial problem since I can (and prefer to) use software controls most of the time. I have not used the fax yet. Based only on the hardware, I'd give it more stars, particularly for the price.Setup, however, is a problem that HP has to address before I could recommend this printer for a Mac user; I was using an iMac with OSX 10.7.2, with the firewall paused and no antivirus. The installation program begins normally, then brings up a "setup assistant" program that should help set up network preferences and the print/scan/fax functions. It doesn't -- it began then stopped since it required administrative privileges. I had entered an administrator password for the installation program but the "assistant" did not call for the password to be reentered (and there's no way to bypass the stop).HP support was not able to resolve the problem: accessing the printer's controls through its IP address, their approach, enabled the print function but not the scanner. The support person promised to research the issue and email a solution -- I'm still waiting. Not the "HP Way." Fortunately, Google does a better job than HP, suggesting a way to access the "setup assistant" through the Terminal and a "sudo" command. (If you do buy the printer, Google "HP M1217 Mac setup" before you begin setting it up -- you should find both common complaints and suggested fixes.)
