It's a really good lap top this year 2020 gensin impact also smooth running in low graphics sound is good battery performance is better then normal useing time and not heavy heating this laptop is established 2020 year buy hp be happy don't worry.

this laptop is great for gaming for under 1k
ive seen people say that the battery life isn't good, but I don't think those people understand that any time youre using a pc to game on, youre never gonna get more than a few hours unless youre willing to spend thousands on a laptop. the picture quality is ecxcellent. the specs overall are great for under 1k. its upgradable. it also has intel optane to go along with the ssd.
ive seen people complain that the backlite for they keyboard wont stay on. ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO. with no use, the light goes off. all you have to do is touch the touchpad and they'll come back on. im not sure if there is a setting to change that because I havnt looked. I actually prefer that to minimize battery use.
while using without gaming, the battery life is actually pretty good.
so far ive played terraria and fallout 76, and they both play great on ultra settings. I think im going to install battlefield 5 and see how it runs. not a big fan of the game itself, but that's the most resource intense game I own, kinda curious how itll run.
the laptop is more than vr ready
I love how the keyboard feels for gaming and for typing.
oh, ive also seen people comment that the laptop would not turn on once receiving.... mine didn't either, YOU HAVE TO CHARGE THE BATTERY, LOL
oh, and I also received the laptop within a day and a half. ordered friday night, and got it sunday.
overall I highly recommend

Great quality and performance for the price.
Being an electronics technician and having built many computers over the years, I have hot to say that the pavillion line of gaming computers is the best bang for your buck that I have seen in years. I have owned many different laptop brands and my HP laptops last the longest with the least problems. I am not a bigtime FPS gamer like I used to be but I can play world of warcraft on full graphics without any video lag whatsoever.

THIS IS LAPTOP. IT IS GOOD LAPTOP. IT PLAYS MANY GAMES, ALTHOUGH THERE ARE DEFINITELY MUCH MORE POWERFUL GPUS TO BE FOUND IN MORE EXPENSIVE LAPTOP. I AM HAPPY. IT IS PRETTY.

Perfect for gaming and school
I was able to run Sims 4 and all of my expansion and game packs with no issues whatsoever. The game now starts quick and loads faster. It’s great for both gaming and school work. I like the thin, sleeker design. The battery is pretty good depending on what you’re doing and the light up keyboard allows me to see what I’m doing even in dimly lit rooms. I’ve had no issues whatsoever with it. Very happy I bought this laptop

Best bang for buck gaming laptop IMHO
This has been a great computer, plays everything that I've thrown at it, not at top specs but more then enough for me. Thermal control is better then expected, it can be a little loud but nothing near my last asus ROG machine. I upgraded to 16GB ram and windows ran better but didn't notice a ton in games.
Pros:
-Bang for your buck
-USB-C
-easy to upgrade
-Looks like a gaming laptop without being obnoxious
-Power brick is really compact for this type of computer
Cons:
-The middle hinge is a little scary, you have to open it from the middle. If you open it with the corners it flexes the screen a lot.
-Wish the power button was on the side so I don't have to open it when it's plugged into my monitor
-Battery life is good for a gaming laptop but realistically 3-4 hours of normal use. 1-2 hours of gaming maybe.
-USB-C isn't thunderbolt

Love this design and the performance is great!
So as you all know, earlier this year I bought the HP Pavilion Gaming 15 core i5-8300H and had a hiccup that was resolved if you read my review on that one. This time I bought the newer core i5-9300H model for a friend and I must say I love this new design. It has larger vents for better air flow; 2 settings for the light in the keyboard (dim and bright green); the monitor is a bit more sturdy then the first which is a plus. Overall this machine is definitely a 5 out of 5 for the price bracket.

Pretty good, for those that are wondering. When I received this laptop, it only arrived with an M.2. No sata. Housing for the sata, but no sata only a blank box so the housing could mount. Still a solid computer, good for gaming and strong fans. Easy maintenance, thermal pads and paste are easily accessible. All though this was bought at walmart and everyone including these people have upped the price, but still a solid computer for the extra $200+ they slapped on it. This is an hp originally sold at walmart for around 545 dollars. Hope this review is helpful, enjoy the laptop.

Make sure your product is brand new!
Started experiencing problems early on with product. Headphone jack stopped producing sound and the touch pad became loose and very noisy. The protection plan would not cover, so I had to deal with HP directly. Come to find out that my machine was not brand new. It had been owned twice before it got to me. However, Amazon sold it as new at full price! Very dissapointed!

This HP Gamer is working as advertised and performing very well. I was worried about HP Laptop's tendency to overheat but I have had it on a cooling pad from day one and have found no excessive warmth coming from it as of yet. I have also paired it with a portable 2 Terabyte solid state hard drive via USB-3 cable and am storing and playing all my games from that instead of from the Laptops somewhat small 500 GIG HDD. So far the combo is working fast and well. I would recommend this laptop to anyone that wants to play games cheaply but just remember that with todays huge and complex games, the onboard HDD is pretty small, especially for a gamer Laptop.

You Can find this particular model for as low as 445 if you look around i wasnt able to though, as far as long term gaming goes its decent in the here and now but i dont expect it to age well do to a fairly weak 1650 gtx but then its not meant to be an expensive gaming laptop, other than that it seems fairly well built.

First day= Better then expected
Really like this device, downloaded shadowplay and all my games as soon as I got it and let me say, I can play games like roblox on Graphics 10, and I didnt feel any lag.
Not sure what to expect in the future but for today..its great!

Not bright enough
I like how The keyboard feels and price is fair for what it has in it. The only thing I would say that I disliked was the screen. Even at max brightness its not very bright and there is not support through hp about it

Great Laptop.
I got this laptop to play the Sims on. I know. But hear me out. I have over 15 gigs of cc and mods added into my game and this computer handles it easily. No-fuss, no muss. I also use it when I have to work from home and the systems that my call center uses are no lightweight systems. Again, this laptop handles my remote desktop easily, without even the slightest sound of a roaring fan, like my old laptop.

Great computer, BUT.....
I have been using this computer for mqny weeks and its great!!!, just have a little issue with keyboard, key F5 and the 6 in number pad some times have slow response and I search how to fix it and I installed all the driver that I found but anything worked

Runs smoothly for gaming
We use the laptop for Fortnite, Rainbow 6, and much more. The only downfall is if you do not keep it plugged in the games will lag and you really should buy a laptop fan/holder to go along with it because it will get very warm while using it for gaming. Overall it is a very nice laptop and as long as it is plugged in it runs at very high speeds.

Great price for a great laptop
It arrived quickly and was easy to set up right out of the box. The backlit keyboard is awesome and the trackpad is responsive without being too touchy. It runs my Sims 4 base game with several expansions with no issues. I left it unplugged and closed for over a day and the battery only dropped a few percentages. I highly recommend this for casual PC gaming and internet browsing. I’m no longer a student but I would have loved having this to do schoolwork on a few years ago.

Good For Gaming
Recording microphone audio quality is bad. The end result of recording voice overs for videos is static-laced and muffled. I've tried recording my voice with TWO different microphones; one headset and one standing.
