No hassle getting a replacement
The first pump I received did not run. The replacement arrived and was installed with no problems.

overheating
The pump is very powerful and but it cuts off after running for a while. I've done all the trouble shooting, also called the company but to no avail. The problem may be the difference in the cycle, for the pump is a 60 cycle and my current is a 50 cycle

so happy I found one
my plumber couldn't find this pump, they stopped making them and it was the only pump that would go with my water heater, so happy I found one. and so far so good it works wonderfully.

I really wanted to give this pump 5 stars. When it works properly, it is five stars. When it works but not properly, it's a nightmare. I'm on my second one, the first having lasted about 8 years. The second is just over one year old and already a problem.
Obviously, the reason one buys this pump over others is the steady, on-demand water pressure. Unfortunately, these pumps are highly sensitive and, although I'm not qualified to say, I think most of the problems are electronic. The greater misfortune is that there are no Grundfos experts on the Big Island of Hawaii, so one takes one's chances via DIY or one of a handful of plumbers who said they maybe worked on one sometime in their career.
I'd say the ticket to satisfaction is to search for a qualified repair person in your area who will make service calls before buying this pump.

I have a Grundfos 1HP MARK III 230 volt pump.
4 years and no problems.
The last one I had lasted about 6 or 8 years before the motor failed. I was in a hurry and because I really liked it I just bought another.
Now I would like to get a replacement motor but not finding my search easy. So far all of the may vendors just sell pumps, no service or parts. That sucks!
I hate to throw away perfectly good equipment.
