The squares were individually packed in plastic. Each square had a coating of oil to maintain the quality of the metal. Nice touch.

Though this is a 4 star review i still love this set and it's incredibly close to dead nuts yet they're still just $40 worth of semi accurate steel.

Great product, great price. Checked all 4 of mine and they were dead on. I was using cheaper squares for saws in my shop and things weren't lining up like I wanted. Used these to fix the lack of square going on throughout

DO NOT BUY! Came in a wobbly box with rusty hinges and oil inside the bags. And more importantly, they are not at all square, instead they are bent and dented. Not usable for anyone with a slight modicum of respect for their work. Absolute disappointment and utterly useless.

The ones I received are truly square and love the different sizes that come in the set. They are great for setting up my tools making sure the blades are square to the table.

The squares I received are not square. They do not line up with each other when stacked against each other. You can see light/gaps between them. They weren't even consistent. Some were over 90 while others where less than 90.

this set of squares is for the home machinest and fabricator, not for a working machinest. overall very nice. not something to build a space ship to carry real people, but lite home shop metal working is fine.

I bought this set and h2993 directly from grizzly. These are not the same. This seller included a wooden box which was nice but the squares appear to be metric? The 3" square is actually 80mm in length. The fit and finish is not as nice as the set I received directly from grizzly. These seem like clones and poor ones at that.

Half of them were accurate but two of them were bent at the tips or just a little off square. I also was hoping the biggest one was a little bigger. I was surprised at how small they were but still will be useful. Good deal for the money as 2 of them were pretty spot on but wish they were in better packaging as that may be why a couple were messed up a little

They’re pretty accurate however, these are not stainless steel. I’ve had them for about a month and they’re starting to rust. If you buy them from Grizzly they come with a blow molded case and are cheaper.

checked with other precision square, look pretty good. Much lighter gauge metal then my other quality machine squares but should be okay for field service. At this price it wont kill me if I loose one

Yeah, these are not super precision, but if you need a small square for a tight area, they are very handy. I don't use the big one very much, because it is about the same size as a 6" combination square, but the smaller ones can be very useful for squaring up clamping setups where there is not enough room for larger squares. They make it easier to do what I need to do, and I use them regularly. I go with three stars, because they are indeed not PERFECTLY square, but they are good enough for my work.
Update: In a couple of situations, I have needed a more precise joint, and found I could not quite trust these squares to give it to me. I habitually flip the square over to check a clamped joint. It should be square from both sides. My very old Starrett combination square is a good standard, and always passes the flip test, but it is too big for many applications, so I am going to have to spend more money and get better squares than these. Still worth 3 stars...
